Welcome to this watch life. Hi, I'm Lydia Winters. And I'm Boo Boo. You look so excited. I am. I can't believe it's 100 episodes of the podcast. I feel like we've been talking about this hundred for a while. I I guess it's been like a week, yeah. But next week we won't have to talk about it anymore. Wow, you're already over it. Today's the day. Could we just celebrate, man? OK. OK, OK. I'm very excited that we're out 100 episodes.

OK, so hundred episode club. If you are joining, you have a week to catch up. If not, but it's all on the honor system. Please do not. Oh my goodness. Not big, trusting, honor system type. I'm an honor system person and also I don't want to like scroll through images of listens. OK, I agree. We have a form on this watchlife.com where you can submit your name at dress. You also get to choose if you are Loosey, Goosey, Lydia or very very Voo. That's what we're calling the

two different types. So it's this watchlife.com. Go to the the post for episode 100. Episode 100 and then you will get mail like real life. Mail like real. Human physical mail. Exactly that I've made for you. Wow. So that mailbox won't just be full of bills. I'm always running out to the mailbox as though I'm getting you're. So excited every day, like, oh, I get to check the mail. It is 99% bills, yeah, but there's like a couple times a year where you get something

that's fun. Yeah, but those couple times of year really make me excited. Kind of predict them though. It's like Christmas and birthday time. Yeah, that's true. But seriously amazing. If you've listened to 100 episodes, we are shocked and impressed by you. And we must say a huge thank you today to all of our listeners. Yeah, to the ones who have commented on our Instagram posts. Or the ones who share episodes with other people.

The ones who send us questions and voicemails so like so much great things that we would not have thought of. No, we wouldn't. Or the ones who have come up to us in person and like talk to us about listening to the podcast. Yeah, I'm always so awkwardly like blushing. And I try to say thank you, the ones who've left us five star ratings and reviews. We really, really appreciate it. It helps people discover this little podcast. Yes, this Little Watch Life podcast.

And it helps us feel good about ourselves. Oh. Yeah. The one who yells at Vu for not doing good enough show notes. Oh, that's Mindy. That's my sister. Yeah. And she does sometimes. She's like these. She's like, there's not. Enough links are terrible. And I'm like, I didn't have time today. Also to our friend Deirdre who listens every day even though she's not into watches I. Want to know if there's anyone else who listens to this podcast who's not into? Watches.

Yes, is. He That is so interesting. If you are, leave that in your comment of the 100 episode club. Like I I'm a captive in the car and I have to listen to this podcast with my significant. Other Yeah, We could not do this without all of you listening it. It just keeps us going, knowing that you're listening it. It really has made a huge difference in our lives this year for.

Sure, it really has. I mean, I've mentioned it before, but I've had a hard time this year and this podcast really some days just like got me out of bed and just being able to talk to each other every day about watches and like, have fun together. Thanks, Boo. Yeah, thank you. But The thing is, like, we we've talked about this well with each other before. I don't know if we've talked about this on the podcast, but like, OK, it's been a big commitment to make this podcast.

But I think for people who listen, it's like a big commitment to listen to a daily podcast, right? It's not the same as a weekly podcast. I listen to lots of podcasts and they're well. And zero of them are daily. Zero of the ones I listen to are daily. It is a huge commitment. And yeah, it's it's amazing. Yeah, it's. A big big big big big big big big. Thank you. So I wanted to go through a little bit about like, who are our listeners?

Yeah, right. And then we'll also talk a little bit at the end about what what we plan on doing in the future, But OK, some interesting statistics. Yes. Somehow we have been listened to at least once, once in 101 countries. That is more than the episodes. It is more than the episode. Because in case you didn't know, today is our 100th episode in. Case We hadn't mentioned that. So our our first month I had checked and we had already reached 54 countries which we

were like what? But 101 is pretty amazing. That's more than half of the countries that exist, right? Like that's pretty cool. the US is our biggest single country so far and it's about tied in listeners with all of Europe. So that's pretty cool and. But there's a a heated battle. There is a heated battle. It's a heated battle that no one knows about but the. UK and Sweden have been battling it out for months back and forth for 2nd.

The average is like 12% but I will say in the past few weeks UK has pulled into the lead and is now at 13%. Come on, Swedish listeners, we can do this. And then we've got Australian, third, Canada and 4th, Germany and 5th and Denmark. In 6th place. Very, very cool. Well, OK, it's not a competition. It's not 6th place, it's it's just 6th. Place it feels. Come on, it feels. This isn't a competition. Except for UK and Sweden, they're in competition.

Come on Sweden. Although I have so many amazing friends in the UK that I'm like well. We can't root for anyone. This is on their. Own, That's true. That's true. But it is. It's amazing and very humbling to think that people literally around the world listen to us, blah blah blah. Blah, blah, blah, OK, demographics a little bit. So when we started we were really happy that our male audience 80% female, 19% right,

which left 1% non binary. And there's always like a a a small amount of people who don't specify. So we don't know, but we have always had a non binary and a sizable female audience and we were really proud of it. It has changed over time. The bigger we've gotten, the smaller our female audience has gotten. But we want to continue to work on this and be very welcoming to our female and non binary audience. Right now it stands at female at 14% and non binary at 1%.

Yes, and this is the Spotify only, so it's not like a total. It's true, we only have stats for Spotify, and Spotify is about 40%. Of. But here's the thing. We have so many amazing female listeners. Yes, we're always writing in asking. I know, I sounded. Negative and it's yeah, it's it's a very high percent in the world of watches. This is true. And it really shows that women love watches. Yes, there are lots of awesome women who love watches.

We've also been supported by amazing podcasts Sana and Hannah Podcast I was on, We were. The Real Time show is amazing. We have a nice network there of people that we know and they are always lovely to mention us, especially Rob. We have our Swedish Watch support group which is our daily watch group that we chat with all the time and I love that. There is no more instant feedback on this podcast than via that group and it's amazing because we've ended up talking

about so many things so huge. Shout out to them. Cat Shoulders had us on the Worn and Wound podcast about gear and it's just been super amazing to be on other podcast. Yes and a huge OK this morning. OK, Can I start? Yeah, yeah, yeah. OK, so Vu wakes me up. Hey, it's time to get up. Do you want to see something that's amazing, that will make you cry? And I was like. Is that what I said? Yeah. And I said, like, can I go to

the bathroom first? I was like, like, can I wake up a tiny bit before I see something amazing that will make me cry? Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. And it did both of those things. It was. Huge thank you to at Dogs On Time. He's an artist, a community member in the Watch community on Instagram, and he teamed up with a bunch of lovely, wonderful people and he drew a bunch of amazing images and put each of these individuals quotes about us and our podcast.

And it's like, so heartwarming, so wonderful. Boo's little eyes are getting really teary. He's trying to keep. I'm keeping it together and the IT was like the most wonderful, best thing to wake up to this morning. We got to meet him very, very briefly in Geneva. I yeah, that what a lovely thing. We're going to have to obviously link to that post. Yes. So, so incredibly sweet. And honestly, he drew Vu as a little bear and you absolutely look like that.

Like it's 100%. You're a little bear now, Yeah. Yeah. I guess that's. Me and I'm a little chicken, which is also pretty correct based on my hair and my personality. Papa. OK, let's a little recap like what's happened this year. Almost nothing in the 100 episodes time. So I would say I feel that it's been really fun. Like my watch knowledge has grown through this podcast. A lot of that is thanks to you Vu, and your very great way of explaining things like complex

things. Oh, he can't take it. He can't take. He's like really like make it stop. No, but you have a great way of explaining complicated things and like making it easier to understand, so I've learned a lot from you. Well, that's awesome. And also from researching. And also, so that's one of the interesting things, right? Because of the podcast, we do a lot of reading that we probably wouldn't. Oh, I definitely won't. No, I definitely wouldn't have done.

Because you do a lot of the history reading when whenever we're talking about like, oh, here's the history of something that's you bringing that. So I learned from that. And you're the technical. And I'm more the. Technical water resistance. I'll jump in any lake with this Omega Speed monster. I don't care. Also, because of this podcast, we've met a bunch of really cool people. Yes, it was amazing.

A few weeks ago I had dinner with Average watches, The Ruby Hour and the real Ronda Riche. And they're all podcast listeners, but they're also incredible people that I've been talking to on Instagram for actual years, for three years for most of them. And to think about these amazing, interesting photographer, journalist, you know, just these these three people who are so cool and the fact that they're they're listening to us, we're cooler because. Of that people listening to us,

I don't know how that works. And then also, I mean, for me, it's really been a way to have a special new connection with my family. And the episode about giving my dad his watch will forever be like something very cherished for me. And I wouldn't have recorded the audio otherwise, like, if we didn't have a podcast and I didn't want to record video because I felt like it was too intrusive in the moment. Having that is something that, yeah, this podcast has given me, yeah.

And I I mean, we did our first watches and wonders this year. Yes, which was super cool. Yeah, I still have so much content to put out from Watches and wonders. I am a terrible content creator. I took a lot of photos. I don't think I posted a single one from Watches and Wonders. Yeah, see I posted. Is it too late a? Few, but they were actually watches on other people that were none of the new releases. That's. True, we took a lot of photos of the new releases, but then we

didn't post. We're going, we're going, we're going to, we're going. To I'll post them before the next watches. And yes. We had some cool watch purchases this year, Yeah, which is? Fine. It's been a good start. Well, yeah, I mean, it's been a real good start. I think we need to calm down the rest of the year. We cannot sustain. This I only have three more watches coming. Oh. Boy, but I'm selling off quite OK. So, so your watch purchases this year?

Yes, I bought the Grand Seiko SPGA 415 which is the Taisetsu the Deep Winter Snow Grand Seiko do. You still like to wear it when it's not in the deep winter, snow when it's in the spring. Turns out I do. OK, perfect. It's not. Only. Winter. So I love this Watch a Grand Seiko spring drive. I just. I enjoy it so very much. Yeah, not. Not at all. Sad about that much. Precious, I got the tutor BB 54, which I did own previously. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. But then. You sold it. I sold it.

To you and. Now I got it again and it has an engraving. Yeah, I am very excited about that watch upgrade. Yeah, upgraded for sure. I bought the tutor Black Bay Chrono with pink Dial, which I'm wearing right now. You can't stop wearing. No, I really can't. I just love it. The color of the dial is so fantastic. It is beautiful. I have been walking around flower shops holding this watch looking for matching flowers. So. You're supposed to take a cool photo of it. I know, but.

I have not yet found the perfect pink. Yeah, and then I recently got my AP Royal Oak. That's a big. Deal. It's a big shift in my collecting, which has been really fun, and I do think is partly the to blame is the podcast. They're just like getting more into things, really talking a lot more about our collections, what things we want, how it does feel sad not to be wearing certain watches, how it's time to cull.

Like all of these things are like leading up to becoming a I'm not going to say better collector, but a more thoughtful collector. Yeah, at least by our own standards, yeah, which is those are the ones that matter to me. I guess so, I. Guess we also let a lot of watches go this year so far. I mean the three of these watches, we let Rolexes go to get three of these. Whoa. The podcast is changing us deeply. But OK, what? What's next? What are we doing with this

little podcast? Well, I mean, you promised occasional long form episodes that are interviewed. I don't believe I promised. I believe what I said was, hey, does anyone object to this? And guess what? No one objected. No one objected to more content from us, which I I truly don't. Understand, I objected. But you were like, too bad. No, no, no. You're not a voting member. Of this. This is a listener vote only. OK, yeah, So what else? Long form episodes that would come out on the weekends.

They would not affect our typical daily. Extra extra like. Once a month? Like once a month, maybe interviews. That kind of stiff, deep dives. I would like to do more deep dives into things. Yeah, like you want to get to the bottom of water resistance and do a deep dive on it. Is is more puns one of your goals for the future of our podcast? You're. Welcome everyone. I do OK this year. I want to feel like by the end of the year I really get it.

You've really done a deep dive into water resistance. Well, golly Gee, I really want to feel like I truly understand what there is to know about water resistance. OK. OK. That's A. That's it. That's. For you and I will sit through those episodes, I think. I would love to do more episodes about individual watches. We've done some. Yeah, yeah, could do more. Like an episode that focuses on a watch, either one that we currently own, or one that we used to own, or one that we want to.

Own or borrowing, Yeah. Yeah. I like that. I think that that that will give us that kind of like, well, now it's a deep dive again, but now that you made the pun, I can't say deep dive. Yeah, because some don't have the water resistance for it. Really. OK. But since it's 100 episodes. 100 episodes. Please tell us what, What do you want to see for the next 100 that I guess we're committing to now? Yeah, the. Comment on the Instagram post or

send us an e-mail. There's a contact form on this watchlife.com. Send us a voicemail. It doesn't you. You don't only have to send a voicemail to be featured on the podcast like as a question, you. Just send. Us a voicemail. Some people do that and I kind of love it. Yeah, it's amazing. It's. We get to hear their voice. Yeah, it's very nice. It's a podcast episode just for. Us. Yes, please record podcasts and said OK, now I'm asking.

No, don't forget to join the 100 Club on this watchlife.com and a huge biggest thank you to all of you. Really. From the bottom of our hearts, yes.
