Episode description

Coalesce is an American metalcore band formed in Kansas City, Missouri, in 1994. They are considered pioneers of mathcore and were known for its aggressive style of music and reckless live shows. The band broke up in 2010 and has performed two reunion shows since then. You can catch them Friday October 4th at Furnace Fest.

I got Sean on the Skype and this is what we chat about:

  • Getting attacked by dogs
  • Earth Crisis’ aggressiveness
  • Finding his voice
  • Sean messing with their album artwork
  • Functioning on Impatience
  • Crews threatening his life
  • Recording of 0:12 Revolution in Just Listening
  • How they broke up
  • Reuniting without Jess on guitar
  • Singing for Dillinger Escape Plan Shot out to Ziggy for this question
  • Reuniting in 2005
  • Playing Furnace Fest this year
  • And a ton more

Go check out the re-releases of their vinyl at https://www.relapse.com/
