Episode description

Click here to buy tickets to the Lanemeyer show at Stanhope House in Stanhope, NJ on Dec 1, 2022.

Counterfit were a emo band from San Diego. Some of the releases they put out were On The Downside, From Finish To Starting Line, and Super Amusement Machine For Your Exciting Heart. That’s basically all there is out there about these guys but you can go to their Facebook page and see a lot of pictures.

Thank you Seth Hyman from Negative Progression records (Check his interview out at Episode 121) for connecting me with Marc whom I got on the Skype and this is what we chat about:

  • How he knows Chris Barker from Lanemeyer’s brother
  • No Knife
  • How was the San Diego scene for them
  • Negative Progression Records
  • What was the band’s internal dynamic like
  • Scott from Blink
  • Touring a lot and being broke
  • Playing with the Mars Volta
  • The Starting Line accidentally giving them exposure
  • A string of bad luck
  • Playing drums for Finch
  • The San Diego band Prizefight
  • The Finch story which is amazing
  • And a ton more
