Episode description

We’re welcoming the multi-talented Georgia Mooney to the pod today! Known as a songwriter, podcaster, host, and versatile multi-instrumentalist, Georgia wears many hats. A quarter of the ARIA award-winning folk-pop group All Our Exes Live In Texas, she's travelled the globe and shared stages with artists ranging from Midnight Oil to the Backstreet Boys. Now, Georgia is stepping into her solo spotlight with "Full of Moon," her debut solo record. This album takes listeners on an exhilarating sonic journey, ranging from eccentric 80s soundscapes to folk-infused melodies and even baroque pop. In today's episode, we’re discussing the influences of artists like ABBA and Kate Bush on her new record. We explore her experience of venturing into solo work, shedding light on the distinct songwriting process she embraced for this project. Plus, we share our insights on both being music school dropouts!
