Well, well, well fellas, happy Memorial Day as it's just passed the weekend. How'd you guys enjoy it? Because some of us. I don't think one of us had a special day on Memorial Day and that was old. This is his birthday, Happy birthday, Oh birthday, appreci appreciate you. Yeah, I got a good grown man that people ask you,

oh, what you do for your birthday? I was like, bro, who has birthday parties at this age? I ain't. I'm not saying I'm old, Clearly I'm not old, but I was like, I just want some peace, quiet and a grown man. That that's why I know an older man. You know it is. You know it's at a premium. Two babies, hey, you know, we know working hard like you

do. Shoot you, you know it's part of the deal. Now, guys, right, you know it's not a lot of no more Rick's basement on on your birthday at midnight, right, doing a bunch of shots? Or is that how you get down? Still? Don't you on the spot? Honestly? How do you celebrate you on your birthdays? Now? I mean it's just a good quality meal. Yeah, that's it. I want some peace, some a nice meal popped off with a nice glass of bourbon

or tequila and call it a day. That's it. Bringing in quietly that's it, you know, happy to have all my cheer dts in the household. Cadence back from IMG. So we have a full Straighthorn household for the first time I think during this show's history. So that's a that's a positive for the straight Horn house. But is it gets the rules to make a can right now to walk into the screen. We'll see what we can do. We'll see what we can do. He's he's a little shy. You

can't be shy if you go he's get him on here. Maybe he's heavy. Birthday Steve Smith, that's right, it's Steve's birthday. What's birthday? It's Gemini season. Whose birthday was it? When Jakie was singing, singing to Stevie wonder Verson birth day? There you go, yeah? Or whose birthday was it? That I was saying, No, no, it was somebody you went into a full effect. Man, don't go into that now. But I was just saying, that was a legit celebrations going around for

everyone. Memorial Day birthdays and Michigan State NCA outdoor Track and Field qualifiers. Lauren Freeland on the fifteen hundred, how about that put the qualified? Look, that's just long. That's just just a long, slow spread. That's what president. But you know how you look at Lord Jesus oh Man praying for supporting the from Afar. Run fast, keep that steady pace. Don't get passed up, that's the that's the goal, right, don't get do

not get passed up, passed right, or don't get lapped. Don't get fifteen hundred No, ain't that, John's another fifteen hundred we got. We got to fifteen hundred qualifiers. Yeah, out there at the University of Texas and Austin, your old stomping ground. Oh boy, otis is gonna go nuts. Now we go to Texas. Listen to Texas crazy. Listen. Have you ever been to the Texas Relays? If you ain't, never been to Texas relays, this is like the who's who of the fastest of the

Texans. Man, Like we're talking everybody coming from where you talk about the country of Texas' passo and you know the Sotos of the world. They're coming in blazing speed. But it's good that you get to run in some heat that's consistent. But with sharing it from Afar as far as get get going on it put up some numbers. Bring on some metals, that's what we want. A lot of speedsters in Texas. You ain't lying. I remember Waco had that guy Michael Johnson. They got some speed over there in Texas.

And he may all run in the sunglasses cool too, right right up right? Yeah. Also and speaking of you know one more track and field athletes, which said Opel Jackson makes it in the shot put big time here for Opal. Yes, can we talk about the creator like this? The fault of pictures are great, like just seeing that like she mean business, you know what I mean, Like this is about to be just on her shoulder. There is it. I feel like it's flow. She threw it

up like yeah, like they go there they caught it. It's mid air, you know. But yeah, throw far Man because look shot put Jay you I feel like you and Jay you was the shot putters man. A discus guys. Oh yeah, I was not a discus guy. I was a shot putter and I ran the hundred and two hundred and a four ball free boat. I was that guy though like I didn't. I didn't. I'll be one hundred percent on a straight was like a true thrower. I just did it because I could. I didn't have formed technique. I just

had strength. I used to go down there eating the hot dog and you know it was my turn wipe my white, my hands on my bersey go throw. Because I didn't have competition back then. So we went to like states and everything like that. That's when people started to you know, really throw it, you know far, but like in my area there, no, no, not so much was all state right yeah, yeah and straight one st straight could throw another time I said that he made with my old

fifty something. Well, look, nobody could talk too much, too tough about like the shot put, because the world record went down this past weekend. Two in the shot put, it just a little little litt'll throw a seventy seven seventy seven almost four inches, which is with a sixteen pounds, right, you understand that. You understand how ridiculous that is? Crazy? Oheah, yeah, that that was. That was there's another long horn.

By the way, you're talking about Ryan Krowsier sets that record twenty three point fifty six meters. Just happened this weekend, So good luck they show did they show without a misery in the Olympics, Did they showed the number like what that ranked in Olympics? Like what was that gold? Who the world record? The world record saying like that that that number in the Olympics, like with that had placed right or it broke the world record, like everything,

it's the world record. It's not your okay, I'm sure so yeah, yeah, the world record, world the ever so his own world record. So there's that. You know, Crowser, he's just a little guy, six seven three and thirty pounds athletic. Looks like a nice tackle. He looked like a tackle. But you know he'd rather throw that iron out there, man, baseball guys talk about baseball. The season concluded after a quarterfinal Big Ten Tournament loss to Nebraska, losing four to nothing out there in

Omaha. Yeah, first of all, congratulations to the baseball team. I think they you know, they succeed. You know, everyone's expectation of them going into this year and the coaches, the coaching staff, the players.

I think this is on the right trajectory. They're gonna now, you know, making it this far in the tournament and now you know, going to have the opportunity to recruit better people, better athletes to come because this baseball program now it's getting serious about the sport of baseball here in Michigan at Michigan State. So it's it's really it's really cool. So congratulations big time, big time thirty three and twenty two, twenty two record for the bigseball team.

Jake Boston that head coach, first time Big Ten tournament appearance since twenty and eighteen. Rock Vandenberg named to the All Tournament team for the Big Ten. Lots of upside for Michigan State baseball, and you know, best of luck to them. And then this is this is something I think they're turning things around over there and shock the world a little bit this year. And speaking of Nebraska, that's where they were. They lost to Nebraska in Omaha,

Nebraska. But you know, Michigan State football got a little get back, got Nebraska transfer in a Lante Brown, the receiver is now a Michigan State Spartan Fellas welcome, Welcome is he? Here was he in working out today? We lost our guests. We had a special guest as those are facts, right, Billy and Kean and just like pump fake this, yeah, so no, but you know, welcome, Welcome to Michigan State. Welcome to east Lands, and uh, that's a great you know, that's

a great ad for us. It's going to add depth to that, uh wide receiver position, which we need. You know, we we have some talented guys there. I think this season that wide receiver position is going to be by committee. I think, you know, there's gonna be a lot of guys who's gonna I think one one time. You know, it will be Tray Mosley's day. It's gonna be Foster's day. It's gonna be fits his day, you know. So I think it's gonna be a really interesting

and really fun to see. And I think, you know, coach Hockin, you know, he's excited about this group anyways. Uh, you know, because they're they're a great group of guys, great great young men, and uh they know the rules. If you don't block in that offense, you're not gonna get the ball. So no blocking, no Rocky. Uh So, but I think he's going to be a great addition to the team. Absolutely, no blocking. Do what I'm playing. And that was after

year, all right. So when you when you look at stats, you look at okay, you started every game. When you look at sixteen passes for one hundred and ninety one yards. Well, you know you look at no touchdowns, no tuddies, right, so you almost feel like what's what was missing? Was it the quarterback play? Was he not able to get there? And also he's a special teams guy, So it's similar to like I saw the comparison trying to get that Jade Reid asque body right because he's

fast. He comes out of you know, prep school. He was the number one prep guy in twenty twenty, originally signed with Texas Tech, then actually goes to Nebraska and then he had this you know, he had the COVID year too, so you know, fresh new chapter with a different wide

receiver coaching coach Hawk, We're hoping that we put something together. It's in and really it's all about culture fit or culture fit, and then we know what he could do on the field, and it's really can he being that speed to get a little compliment to the other three because we want to make

sure those three do get them shine because they've been grinding. But you know, I look at the stat wise and you know, as a sophomore, you know, maybe he was you know in the slot and was getting double team you don't know, but if you look at stat wise in the Big Ten, you know he has some big catches, but you don't see the conversions over to touchdowns. So I'm just playing devil's after for That's that simple

thing. To that point, Yeah, the guy was He was an actual high school quarterback actually through for forty one touchdowns in high school and ran for another twelve. So I think this is a situation where a guy is a great athlete and he's trying to learn the position of receiver and learn the nuances

of it. Playing quarterback obviously is a lot different than playing receiver. But he was originally committed to Michigan State, and if you can remember before, he signed with Texas Tech then goes to Nebraska, so it's kind of a full circle deal for Alante. Uh. Did you have something to add to that? Yeah, I think you know, to Oti's point there being the Devil's have it and you you said it too, Uh, straight, I think he's learning the position, But I think you have to be in the

right situation. I think that's that's the biggest thing. If you if you put it in the right situation, you can find success. You can be successful. I don't think Nebraska was the right situation. Nebraska was a dumpster fire. We all know that Scott Frost went there swindled all those people out of all that money. They said, the chosen kid was coming back home and take us back to victory. And what do you do? He slummed, He took, He took all those people money. He's he's like Brett

Faire taking all those people money. Fired. Man, he's in a teammate, but he's gonna be in a new system now. I think it's where you're in. Oh man, what a breath to deserve that one man, that's what he did, allegedly him at TED TV. I'll see, yes, allegedly. Don't don't sue me like he said. Unclesh, you ain't know. Work was caught in the podcast world allegedly to Michigan State Football to me saying and Brandon Jordans had shared some tweets about Andrew depat and by job.

Here is to me, she's talking about Andrew the paper by Joe young stars and making giving them their flowers. Now fellas talk about it. And then here's coach Jordan's BT up in Seattle saying facts about to take over college

football. Mhmm. Oh, listen, that's a solid that's a solid, solid reference from coach bt Man. But Devil's advocate a kid, Oh boy, we need we need to see that in some real pad and hitting like fully like go go because like you know spring like yeah, they inside if you're not internally like you get to go to practice and watch, you know, really when the lights come on as far as stadium, will that convert

and transition. I know they're young, but I can't give flowers and somebody just yet now, I say, from the trajectory of the projections, absolutely right, but just let's let's chill for a minute. Let's chill because like we can't be having these busts be given them flowers now and then just bus because everybody putting pressure on it. You know, this is a day and age man. You quickly want to do comparisons of goats and who they look like, and then they try to live up to that and they don't up

and then they get lost in the sand and lost in the sauce. So I'm just saying this, chill. There's still some young spartan dollars and puffs, but we need we need some physicality from helmet to helmet contact to see how it converts. That's just me being a defensive guy. That's it. Hey, I'm with you. Oh, I you know, I love it. I love all the accolades and all the flowers that they're getting right now.

Hope they will start smelling, you know, like Jimmy Ray said on that when they went to that rose Bolt, they were, you know, smelling the perfume that was thrown on them. But you know, but for me personally, I'm like, I'm the state model of Missouri. You know what that is? Right to show me state show me, show me, don't tell me, show me. Go out there and show me how you

can do it when the lights are bright in Spartan state. I I have faith in I have faith in the system that that they're going to be placed in that the you know, especially with by Joe you know, getting bigger, stronger, faster in the weight room this offseason. That's going to be really huge for himself. I'm excited about that and those guys. And all depends are what flowers too, Like roses. I cast say, roses really smell like what flowers were given These fellas there like you about to be solid,

oldest. This is what Marlon just told you. It's gonna be solid. Trevor's telling you exactly, a lot of people have oh games. Why with all these people? I think the strength of this team this year is gonna be that defense. That defense is gonna surprise a lot of whoa whoa, whoa, whoa whoa. I could not switch that silence, what you mean, silce team? What do you mean? What do you mean? You you said the strength of the team is him, he asked him.

Now, but I'm gonna say I'm saying that that that that defense is gonna be. That defense is gonna be Listen, bro, I'm telling you right now, we got we still got summertime, and we still got fall camp. If we don't give a goose egg when Central Michigan comes to town and we dominate pure dominance, where we don't leave no doubt unturned, then I'll be like, I know we got some dogs now, but too don't put I'm telling you putting pressure on it. Like we don't put pressure on it,

Let's make it what happens with pressure. People are saying the front seven is looking good. That's what Psy said. And then somebody it's gonna stands just talking about the O and D Lions are both gonna be so much better this year. I mean, maybe maybe choose on to something I don't know. Yeah, that that defense wasn't given the it wasn't given a fair shake last year. I know, we had our woes and everything like that, the injuries, the suspensions. We couldn't really run what we wanted to run

defensively. Now the scheme's gonna be there. That defense is gonna be full of confidence, is gonna be flying off on all cylinders, and they're gonna be aided by that offense. You know, they're gonna be aided by that guy number fourteen leaving out Trevor. Trevor just called you out. You Oh, he said, I thought the strength of the team was your son. Oh is cad up? I just I just feel I feel like it's it's it's a what do you call that all over again? With the killer bees?

Bro? Like that that really hits home for me because you was like, Bro, you don't I wanted that. I wanted that so bad. I wanted it so bad. Killer bees killing bees? What touch? What? And all of a sudden they got stung, they lost their stingers. The whole team is the strength, Gordon, that's what you're saying. Took

see see you man. They say, Hey, look, we have someone that's on the team, playing on the offensive line that we're going to be talking to so he can give us an entrench bird's eye, not bird's eye like a very up close and a pinion and a view of what's going on in the trenches what he's seen, you know, from the view of an offensive line, because you know, those guys kind of know everything that's going

on the team right shoot you. But lous, before we get to him, we gotta listen to a message from our friends over at I Hop Eye Hoppy Hour starting at six dollars at three pm only from my house and enjoying the rewards program today. Oh we got this nice reading. You know, chootch you wants to do it, but you know I'll do it for him

this time. I hop now has two amazing new all natural angles be steak Burgers, the Bourbon Bacon Jam and the new Jilapeno Kick with a country crunchy fo cheese crisp, get a combo with fries and a drink starting at only nine dollars only at I hop, but they look for a limited time and only restrictions may apply. Fellas I that country corunchy boy, that's even better. This little you feel like in the country, that's good. You get you get some skins. Speaking of the country, Yeah, we gonna go

down in Georgia to get us somebody right now, and we did. Let's talk to the number one Juco offensive lineman in the country that is now in Michigan State, Spartan Keith Shawn Blackstock, and his mother joins, this is Sparta. How y'all doing one? Are you going on? Man? Yeah? That is welcome. Welcome, she got that shirt on. Welcome to the show. You said they call you K five, Yes, sir,

tell us about that. I just heard that name and Juco. I remember they was in fall camp and coach had at left tackle and he was cool and I went to go put a due in the like behind whatever. My man was like, man, you hord buddy, for real. He was like, man, your name K five and that's you just stud with it like that knockout pancakes all day. Hunh You'm serving them. Let's go. I got a question before you jump in there straight, you can answer,

like the only lineman we've had on all the line of these days. Now, Like it's so what even get that swag about them? And like when did that happen? Like when was that era with that sweat? Man? Listen, it was always there, y'all? Just noticing now, that's all. Yeah, I'm just now noticing, you know, thank god. You know, look, going back, we talked about it last. We're talking about Tony Manders, right. It was the first guy, first offensive lineman,

to get a million dollars coming out of the draft. And since then the importance of the offensive line has been more and more prevalent for everyone. And now today you're starting to see the fruits of that labor, especially with you know, college football and the pro football. You see the salaries rising because without them, without good offensive lineman, you can't you don't. You don't have a Tom Brady, you don't have those guys like Patrick Mahomes that

they could be the stars that they are. So I think that's just what it is. Man. You know, you see guys like Trent Williams. I mean, hey, I don't know, K five, what you think about Trent is that a guy you follow. Yeah, I love Trent. The way you play the game, dominating, physical, like people you play the game, That's what I'm saying. And he's got a little swag to him too. Definitely old man. So look, we talked about office alignment.

They don't they don't always get to shine, but they grind and and and and let allow the people around him to get the glory. Man. But like what what drives you to be? You know, a complete offensive lineman? Uh? And kind of keeps you hungry that to to you know, to improve yourselves a year over yere. Honestly, just when I was a kid, my mom used to work two jobs and just seeing her just

pacifically go and not complain about nothing to make it happen. So when I'm in the church, they don't think about number feed my family and taking care of my gods beside me. Mm hmmmm. I like that. Yeah, right, you stuck you with that answer, K five man, that's what's uping man? Mama? What you say to that? Well, I always talk Ki shine, whatever you do, you know, I'll try to give

y'all your best and whatever you do, and y'all never quit football. Let football with you m take it as far as you as it allow you. You know, that's the thing. It opens a lot of doors, which it has done for you, you know when you look at it. Kishan K five, Where did you When did you start playing the game? I want to say seventh grade? Seventh grade, so in middle school you start playing. So that's that's a normal time, I would say for a lot

of guys. Some guys played really really early. And what did you play right away? Did you play offensive line from the beginning or did you try other positions? I was a left tack on a end. Okay, so you always were a big fella? Was he always big man? From Yeah? Yeah? Big boy? Yeah? What are you? Six? Five three fifteen? Is that what you're wearing right now? Six? Lean leaning up? Yeah? All right? Strength? Yeah, So go ahead. Yeah, So you know, you you talk about that and you you know,

you played in high school obviously in the Georgia area. You know there's good football there, and then you went the Juco route and coming out of that, you had, you know, being the number one player, you know, coming out you had you know, app State, Arkansas State, Auburn and my hometown university at Buffalo. You know, looking at you in Michigan State, what what drew you? And this question is for both of you guys, both you mom and K five. You know what drew you

to Michigan State and why did you choose to come to Michigan State? For me, honestly was like coach Cap the relationship I have my coaches and really Genie Way and he reminded me of my juco offensive line coach, So that really stood out to be the most. He just really just thinking like, man, where I'm gonna go where I got the best relationship with and I just want to see the field and blatant and what I'm gonna do, like I'm gonna do anything possible to touch this s fields. Like yeah, I'm

so. I was talking to my junior college coach and he was like, man, you remind me of older version of me. And when he sat down with a no brainer. Man, look we saw that picture in the snow. Man. Typically our boy is coming from the south, they touched that snow. But I know you was in Juco. You saw some snow of Kansas, right, So I'm glad you wasn't afraid. I'm glad you didn't get a lizard Blizzard store and we'd be like, Nah, this ain't

it. Talk, But talk about just when you made that decision. I know, we saw some of your video when you saw you were signing,

and you know, Coach Tucker, you know talk. I mean, if you look at Coach Tucker's press conference when we signed, I mean, he said some things that kind of get everybody juiced up because we know our office alignment has some struggles and roes last season, and so you watch her from afar, you know, what did you envision yourself coming in and helping, you know, not bridge the gap, but improve our office on line play, just bringing that swerger and that that hustle of mindset. But we're gonna

get it by any means necessary. We ain't gonna lay out for nobody. M hm. So with that process, mom, what did you you know, what were your you know opinion on you know, the visits and what what did you just leave it to K five to make that decision? Did you have any say in it? And what was it that drew you and attracted you to you know, letting your son, you know, and trusting

your son with the coaches in Michigan State University. Well, I don't have to be there, So whatever he wanted to do, he felt like it was a big situation for the family. So I just stood behind him and what he wanted to do, because you know, this is his journey and not mine. See there it is again, guys. You know that that's the parents. Gotta let the players do what the players want to do because you don't want to decide for them, and then they're gonna have to you

know, then they're gonna be upset. Right, That's that's, you know, because it's not easy to play this game. And you know what did you brought up the Mel Tucker press conference. I think we have that video for everyone, right going with the O line. Keyshawn Blackstock Covins in Georgia, knowing him for a few years, New High School coming out of Coffeeville

Community College six five three fifteen Top Juco Office Alona in the Country. Nasty run blocker plays with a chip on the shoulders a football Jim Ratt, great guy off the field, flips the switch when he gets on the field. He's looking at making an early impact. He's a mad or roll league. I see it and feel it all. What he said has came to fruish him in this interview because I see you locked and loaded. Man, It's

only one one goal in mind is to to win a championship. Man, And I'm definitely glad you parted in the Green and White because I feel I feel you pulling right now, trying to and trying to knock somebody out. I see it, and I already visited, man, So I'm looking forward to to seeing what you're gonna do. Man, what's the best part about you know, summer workout starting back up today. I know it's been a month kind of hiatus after spring ball. You have to go get a chance

to go home kicking with the family. But you know, day one back in East Lanson with the with the boys, you know how you feeling on day one, I'm feeling a great I just feel like at the ball my guys more to build that trust with each other. So when it's fourth down and two on the gold line, the game on line, I trust my God beside me get the job. Man. So just bonding with my teammates

and just making sure they're comfortable with me and I'm comfortable with them. We needed you on that fourth and one against that team down the road, like the boy you feel me, I'm hoping you watch a film last season, right, definitely, we definitely need that for sure, right speaking speaking of that, like we just talked a little bit about what's going on with the defensive line and to to me say, and it was talking to BT coach BT about the Pape and by Joe, those three defensive line, and you

get a chance to see them up close. So tell us what they're doing, how it's like playing against our defense, our front seven, what your opinion is of how they're going to do this season. I feel like we're healthy right now. From got great guys in that room, great leaders, great older guys to to lead the young guys. So I feel like that's always good. But I mean, like I say, everybody homeger, everybody trying to prove a point, and we just say we're not an average team.

We're the top dogs and we're coming for it all. So that's what we're trying to prove and show everybody. So it's been a journey. You know, you came out of high school, you hit that uh that the community college junior college route there obviously you know every high schooler's dream and everything. It's like they want play in a power five school. You know that's what it is. But you you took the harder path, you know,

going through that. So what does that mean emotionally? You know, like finally you know, you knew you believed in yourself, your mother believed in you coming out of high school that you could play at a power five level. But you know some people didn't, you know, and you had to

go and prove it for you. I'll ask you this well, because you're shaking your head, you know, like what emotions when you know that, you know, those power five conferences, the Auburns, the Michigan State, you know, started you know reaching out now, started making offers, you started going on those visits. All that hard work is coming to fluition. Now you know, what's what's the emotion? Like? Well, I was, like you said, my emotion was all over the place. But I

was so glad and my son he trusted the process. He didn't give up. So many people that started with him at junior college just went home and said, you know, I just rather give a job. I just I feel like he beat the odds, Like you know it was too easy for him to give up, you know, and it was time. He called and said, Simel flight, I'm coming home. And I was like, no, I'm not got anything in life. You want, got to work, you got through yourself, and they're just all a part of being,

you know, part of life, no question about it. We talked about this often on the show, that there's not one football player in America that's telling the truth that will say that they've never thought about quitting. You know, when you get past high school all the fun and games and to go to the sunshine the rainbow. So he he ha, You it's harder, right, I mean, it's just part of the mature maturation process. You

know. I've got to, you know, make a comment about the people who are saying, you know, your your father Tino, says James Wyndham Junior K five. Your dad Tino is a real one. Also, it's a shout out to Pops. I've talked to Pops too. And also they said, is it different and blocking for Houser than it is for Kim. I ain't no different. I trucked my quarterback to do what you do. I can't see him throw the ball blocking I'm trying to protect his life him.

There you go, that's the hotel you're supposed to have. But you had him, I would have beat Lorenzo White record if you didn't know Key, you know, tell him how many touchdowns you had, just so he can, you know, be caught up on who you are? Right? What's Otis is? What was Otis's number? Twenty one? Yeah? I ain't hating because that name would come in and fe but what's like, let's let's let's let's get take you behind the curtain and get to know K five

man, Like, what's what's your favorite food? Simple as that? Uh, probably some wing tangle a lot. Have you been the cracked chicken yet? No? I ain't been there. Oh yeah, you gotta eat that fresh like taking home and then it gets sweated in the stars moment sitting in the car, sitting in the car and ask for some ask for extra crack sauce on it too. You gotta ask for Yeah, we're gonna run the

fire. What's up your play? So? Okay? So well, first of all, before we go to the rapid fire, I want to know, you know, what would would the emotions be like September one? All right, Central Michigan, country town, beautiful day in east Lands and your son is running out of the tunnel at Spartan stay in front of seventy five thousand people. What's that motion gonna be like for you? I'mna be happy and be excited. I don't know how. I'm just I can't wait to

live the moment. Okay, fine, what about you? Ain't nothing different out of business? Boy? I think it's all about that, yes, man, let's go. Well, I'm a candide, so I'm sure you. I hope you've seen some of our shows. But we have a lot of mothers who come on and they're strong mothers that are sparking moms. Right, but the tailgate? Have have you been to the pair of tailgate just yet? I went to the spring game to the tailgate Okay, m hmm, yeah, so I know, yeah, doctor Peggy, all the moments

in the in the chat, I see them, believe. Oh yeah, the chat left big time. So yeah, there's a big community. Go ahead you all right? So Keishaan, all right, pre game? What's your pregame meal? What's that look like? Pregame? Mara? Yeah, oh no, I ain't really know. I don't know my cloths name. We used to make me eat a lot before the game. I ain't really with that, Like I just be missing focused. I ain't worry about that. I'm gonna eat out the Okay, Okay, we want to play light

man, we gotta play light mentally. Now you're going to the stadia in locker? And what's what's in the headphones? Do you listen to music before games? Yeah? I listened like a little baby. Uh es t g Juvenile for one of the degrees Monday. Yeah, I listened to Julie uh pastor Troy Boosie wegons So you got Southern rap? Yeah? You that? What about Wayne Wayne Jeezy? All that? All the old like the old Stix, Gucci stuff like that. I like this we hey man, pick

me up ride with you listen all day long? That's what I'm talking about. But yeah, so you know, outside of football, you know, what's your degree? What what's your major? Uh? Communications? And How'm gonna get a minor in business? Mm hmm okay? And what do you like to do for fun outside of football? I like to play basketball. I love to hoop. Talking the game to my homeboy, I'm me talking

with us on the game. Look, just don't be like, don't hoop when you don't break your hand when you're hooping and steering like off seasons. Just just stay chilled, you know, hey, just playing horse man, just the game of horse Man. Just keep your feet on the ground. Just shoot right, just shoot. Yeah. I just like the basketball, the hoop game. You got a jumper. I played varsity basketball from my

house, started marsity seven eight. Yeah, okay, all right, damn, I know we got some questions, but I mean we want to talk about just let's talk about Spartan offense. You know, you only have the playbook from springtime, right, coming from Jaco the playbook and then coming to Michigan State, what's the difference and then what are we going to be able to see, you know, lead into summer as you're in the in the

playbook and watching film. I mean, it really wasn't like different. It's just like learning the new terminology and the scheme and stuff like like that, and like knowing what the play trying to do, like where's the ball going within the play and stuff like that. So just knowing your assignment, knowing what can happen if this guy do coming up just like little like little details

that you got to know at the level. So it's it was good though, like coach cab coach well my coaches and stuff like that helped me get into the playbook involved my game. I feel like we ain't got a chance to really get to know like the of coach Cat, Like what is his what is his sayings that you've already picked up on the spring as he's coaching. What are some sayings he coach cat uh Man coach on the air. I don't know. Yeah, you just gotta love him for who he is.

You don't coach you are. I love Coach Cathaway coaching me and just the energy he brand every day. He loved what he doing. Not a lot of coaches love what they do on and off the field. He just like off the field, he of loving coach like he a man at the end of the day, he gonna take care of you like your father and do stuff to replace that like you're away from home rights you go over to their career with his wife, just you know, like a coach that's gonna

love you like that. Too many coaches like that. It's the difference between a man outside of football and just a coach. You just look at you as a business. He don't look at you like that. He look he looked at you like family. So that was big to me too. So that's what's up. Yeah. Yeah, So you know, obviously with the

Spartans last year was not the season that we wanted. I'm sure you were getting recruited, you know, throughout the year and you saw, you know, kept an eye on the season and it wasn't up and down and a lot of downs last year. And then you come in, you know, you have the opportunity to come in and be part of that change of not just the tradition but the culture. You know, so coming in like what

were you know? I know you said you're coming in with a chip on your shoulder and Coach Tucker said that in the in the press conference talking about you. But you know, when you stepped on campus, you walked in locker room, what has it been like, you know, bonding with the team and what is that culture like in the locker room? Right now? Everybody love everybody, I mean like everybody gonna see each other, They're gonna

see what's up are you doing? Everything like that? They gonna acknowledge you as a player and who you are, just like your team, and da ain't just gonna walk past you and just like who you do it. Everybody's gonna try to talk and you know what I'm saying, at least be cool with you. I mean, we got a family right now. We bonding right now. And I feel like right now, offense and line really did jeling like just get to know each other. We really stuck together right now.

We got guys older god like Nick Saint mag Jd who playing like older guys in that room to to like set the standard for everybody and know what it is. You know, there's been a lot of talk from other players about the construction that's going on. You know that that's happening obviously right inside the football building, which has forced the team to kind of break up the conditioning strength the conditioning session, so you're not meeting as a full team all

the time in the locker room. Are you seeing any issues with that? Are are they now, you know, at this stage in the construction process working to try to improve that. Yeah, I mean they're working to improve it, but we do the best we can to still bond with each other. They ain't no shoes. What's what's I mean? What's are you happy that you're going to get a brand new facility because it's crazy. It's crazy

to me and too well too was gone. But my my senior year, you know, we cut open like or cut the ribbon for that facility. You are in right now and I was in two thousand and eight, and so you fast forward, you know, having a new facility and you're seeing the dream come to fruition. How does that make you feel to help you know, change your improve your game with the new facility. I'm grateful. I mean, like I said, I came from nothing to dream college.

So I'm grateful for everything. I don't take nothing for granted. What do you think the biggest difference is in your I'm finish in the spring right now versus what it was like in junior college? What I like? The facilities are different, like the play on the field. What do you notice right

now as far as what the difference is if you see it? The biggest like chair for me was for coming from junior college, like the defensive shift, like how the linebacker move in and out the box and they could be last second, but you still got to make your call or if you don't make your call, you just got to live with what you made. So that was the biggest thing I had to learn, honestly, that was really it. I mean, Dan, I'm gonna play physical. They don't come

up the ball wherever you go, so that's gonna happen. But just like the linebacker, how they move in out the box and safety might rotate down or whatever. You might have a hangover. So just knowing your correct calls and your assignment that was the biggest thing. That's that's big. Now, Yeah, I watch some film with you too. Man. I'm like, hey, man, you fired up that ball with a vengeance. Man. So I said, every every highlight now, I know they highlights, but

they don't really show you your down places. It look like you ain't had no down place. And it was like that was in shells and probably just helmets and you pancake somebody in the highlights. So I was like, oh, this dude's for real. Keep that going, man, because we don't need it for sure. Mom. So you know, we see K five like he is now, he's a man about business, you know, like ready to go and straightforward and stuff. How was he at home? And how was he as a kid? Pretty much? I mean over he was

you know, he was a good child. But he also let me know, you know how he felt too. He's very opinionated and he don't like things. Sometimes he don't say it right then, but he'll let me know, like Mama, I didn't like this, and I didn't like that. But that's how I raised him and his sister, Like it's okay to tell me, Mama, I felt like you did me wrong or I felt like, you know, you embarrassed me. Because I think about being a mother or a parent, it don't come with a direction like how to be a

mother. So I with my kids, I try to bun and I try to let them know when they're wrong, and when they're right, I'll try to award them facts. What about We had a good question in a chat was what's your favorite sports memory? Okfive, your son growing up? Well, my favorite memory on sports memory he used to play softball, I mean baseball, and I really liked him to He played every since he was t lea and this is what I wanted him to do, but he just said

he outgrowed it. But that's the memory that I like him, you know, this is what I wanted, but football is what he wanted to do. So but I got some great memories. You know. I just feel like, you know, as a parent, it was a requirement from my household for him to play sports. I don't care what sport was that, you know, AAU basketball, basketball for the school football. But I just feel like sports teach us, you know, like teach them display so much

more leadership and it ain't all about them. So it's just a requirement in my household. Did they have to play sports? Very good? What position? What position were you in baseball? I ought to know this. I played first base. Look at you and then you pee and you the high catcher? Yeah yeah, oh man, first base pitch. So if your first basement usually got a good back too. Can you hit yeah? Oh yeah yeah memory the little park and the cars come and hit the car window

out? So uh before games especially now, do you have any pregame rituals that you do or do you is there any nerves with you, you know, to go watch your son, but like what pregame things do you do? I don't have none. I just try to support him, you know, as much as I can and Juco. I used to try to make it so, you know, twice a month because you don't have to pay for flights and hotels. But I used to try to make it like twice a month, show up and let him know, you know, support him

and everything he do. So mm hm that's the only thing, just trying to get there. Mm hm. You're gonna be able to make it fine games Huh, I say, are you playing on making it to all the games this year? Yeah? I'm playing on Mexta his home game this year.

Yep. Okay, dog will willing that, Like listen, like there's a there's a lot of good stuff that I'm hearing out of this you know, key look man, like you're gonna make your mark on this this campus, in this university with that mindset, which is great and we like to have that, especially that dog mentality on that offensive line because I mean, you guys set the tone for everything, you know, thinking about how you have you know, come from you know, the juke Coo route and now

at Michigan State. And who is the offensive lineman you said you talked about the older guys like save Mac and those guys. Who is that? Who you are kind of leaning on for for some advice as far as like how to navi gate the waters at East Lansing. Yeah, I talked to Saint mac a lot or JD who playing Oh my god right now. So I mean they stay in my apartment complex too, So I feel like that's cool. I get to like, you know, chill with them, know what

they do all on there and off the field. Just just learn from my guys. I mean they've been there players, so they know what it takes. Is there has number fifty four. There's a question in the comments that has number fifty four always been your number? Or is that? Uh? No? I just so my best friend he died. He played beside me in high school and he end not passing the lease. So I just told his mom like this for him. Mm hmmmm. So there is that significance

of meaning behind that number for you, Yeah, very special. And I'm sure you you know it's sorry to hear that about your friend, but from talking to you, you know, seeing the type of person, and you know, talking to your mother, I'm sure you're gonna carry that number with you and make your your friend proud of you, know the way that you conduct yourself in the way that you play on the field. There, so kudos to you for that. Absolutely, you know, I really know.

Look, I mean this is this is a great interview, man. I mean you you got that that mindset. Oh it's like you got any final thoughts before we let Keith shine I get out of here and his mother Candice listen. I'm just glad you you you a dog man. I'm glad you're in the green and white. It sounds like you're talking to a little brother man, a little big brother because you're bigger than me. But but you

know, like it's just I'm glad you're on our side, man. And you know, with that mentality, that attitude and just you know, the grit mentality. Man, you're in a special place being in Michigan State and you know, Michigan ganners man, nothing but grit, and you gotta go get it. Man. If you don't get it, nobody's gonna give it to you. So, man, I appreciate you blessing us with your time

tonight and showing spartanation what you're all about. Man. So just know you got some followers in here that's gonna be in your corner and You're gonna have that fan base once you roll out there, they're gonna be saying K five, You'll not loud, man. So you're excited that you'll be a part of Michigan State. Spartan doll Way Man family for sure. Gotta love them, Georgia boys. Man Man definitely love to have you on the show and even happier to have you a part of the Green and White. You know,

You know, you know, guys like you coming in and wanting to be here representing you know, Spartan nation. And I just I tell you you know, Otis said, the people in Michigan, you know, always, you know,

will take care of you know, each other. When you're long, after you're done playing football, you you you come back to campus, you come back here, people will be like, OK five. You know they'll be remembering you for you know, the legacy that you left on the field. So I'm gonna tell you every time you step on that field and Spartan sent it it's special. Take advantage of it. It means so much, and that means so much to former players like us, you know, fans that

are watching and your take great memory, so waife. Definitely great advice, hen Man and Key love having you on the show. Man. Good job, Man, I don't listen. Man, you sound like a pro. Noah Kim. Uh. He you know actually was uh back home before they came, you know, back on campus here. You know, he

could have been doing anything. He could have been kicking it, chilling, you know, relaxing before he came back. But he's you know, two days at a at a camp, you know, being a coach at a camp, working and giving back to the community in his hometown where he's from. Uh. You know that some of the you know, a lot of times stuff going notice people just see these athletes for you know, like I

always say, numbers running around on the field. But you know he took the time to go back home give back and we all know what he what he already did. You know, have those other receivers you know, come over to his house and uh and you know have have workouts with them, hosted them at his crib. His parents cooked, you know, for them great food. And by the way, mister Kim and I we in a in a little food battle, you know, which I'd be grilling. I'd

be sending him pictures. He'd be sending me pictures of what he's grilling. So but so far he's he's he's killing me on the grill. But I can try. Don't have to have a grill off because you know, if you want to grit, you got to bring in the Wileys. Now, you know Wiley you know, yeah, now, and don't forget about titled him right here untitled beer rank show. Sean. You know you the rib guy, remember he brought the ribs? Yeah, Joe, Look, Grease

is stucking my truck man him fourteen and K five. We got that, mister Wyndham. I appreciate it. Listen, guys like that. That was a great show.
