Oh man, you got a little Yoda, little little little Yoda and like, man, yeah, hey listen, the uh the man the Laurie was that man I was. That's the show right there. Man, that's outstanding. So this is the special day
for everyone. If you know, if you're a Star Wars fan, if you're in that day for the nerds, you're just waiting for get canceled. Boy, that's what the Harry they coming out. That's gonna be what's up? Hey, everybody? Hey, throwing up pancakes up? The laughter is up, man, every It's a good day. I know it's been an emotional time, especially in the Spartan football neighborhood. But we're gonna talk about a lot of Spartan things today and we have our special guests, a lot
of stuff going on. And it's beautiful. Isn't it beautiful in Michigan? I mean you tell us, man, here, come on, man, it's beautiful. Look at it, you know, man, get on the right right here, sacking. We got a golf out on that day. This is how the other side lives. It's outstanding. Guys. Softball throws a no hitter this past Weekend sophomore and Faith Guidry twenty fourth in program history. No hitter in Michigan State sophomore history. Man, I've never experienced that,
Like, that's what I feel like. It's a one of like a buck list of being there watching it and live and you never experienced that, Like you know, the Tigers is atrocious, like its been a long time, man, but you know, from a standpoint, that's something we want to experience. And a no hitter. But it's good man. I told you, man, we're gonna get coach showing her because she's gonna get that program turned around. And as we know, we celebrated herself. Well I
see too smilingly. What are you talking about, like, you know, congratulations here, because I mean, welcome to the club, young lady. Because I threw a no hitter. I was. That's and that's how I retired. It was fourth grade. Uh no, no, last last struck out Ryan Matuso, and I retired baseball ever since fourth grade. So no concussions in football, Yeah, no concussions. You have a great memory before you had no hit her. Of course you're gonna remember that, all right.
What was your celebration? Was it like hardball we use out here. I like when hitter this this, that's ridiculous. Fourth tell me what your velocity was on the mountain fourth grade. I didn't have I didn't have any volots, just straight just throwing it in there, thrown heat. Big B said that they even have backs back then you you you oh man, man, Look, I'm gonna have to see this wander like like you like a little you know. Yeah, yeah, I was ready threw a no hitter
too. We got to get her. We're gonna have to figure out get in touch with her to get her onto the show because, like we say, this is part we want to celebrate all our student athletes and our our monumental milestone. So definitely kudos to smit M s U Softball. Yeah. Well, and on the other side of southball ment, it's baseball. Baseball sweeps Northwestwestern Now with the record of twenty eight and thirteen. Guys, they're
balling trailing. We're behind Maryland. Man, it's gonna be keep doing what we're doing. You know. We go to Iowa to go play away this weekend a little series and then we got to win that. But we may be able to host Maryland and we beat Maryland, you know, it'll be a tie for the Big Ten championship conference wise. So the best part is we already got into the postseason when it comes to Big Ten Conference tournament because
you only take top eight. But coach boss Man turned around and congratulations, man, keep keep winning ball, keep winning boys, keep getting hey man, like your knowledge of the schedule for all sports supersedes every human that I've ever met. Him and Trey Moseley, Yeah, hey them at every game. Yeah, yeah, you're right, right twenty one. Maybe that's the thing. You might try the game, man, feel bad, man, Yeah, so let's sell out baseball. Let's sell our software. Let's say
that support man. Why not, let's do why not, let's just pray for no rain all over the field. I mean, they're upgrading things in baseball. You know. They have a new addition this this past offseason of Adam Eaton, former Major League baseball player, is now a part of the staff. Like, guys, this guy one World Series. He's the only guy that I've ever seen crush Erlander a heck of an athlete, and he's
coaching up our guys in the Green and white. And when you talk about you want to save your job, you know what I mean, Like, be honest, you got to bring some guys in. It's gonna help you take it and train your guys. So, uh, that's what you for recruiting purposes. You want guys that have been where you're trying to go. And this is the opportunity for coach Boston to bring in some high level talent. Well, what we do have to do is get a new facility.
Because when it rains, it rains and it floods. So that's a tough recruiting purposes from facility standpoint because it will flood the entire all three stadiums our soccer stadium, softball, and baseball. But yeah, that's a good addition to the Green and White without a question. I mean the guy you know, I mean, he's obviously a major league baseball player, just lives in
Michigan and just you know, just retired recently. It was like, hey, you I want to, you know, hang out with my buddy Jake boss and it's paying dividends already, Choots, you got any baseball stories? And he decides a no hitter. Were you a good hitter? Oh? Yeah, yeah, absolutely, wasn't a good hitter. You know, they call me home run King, you know for yeah, I meant, you know, I didn't. I left on the top of the mountain. You
know. That's the same thing. If I ever hit a hole in one in golf, I'm going to find the closest pond, throw my clubs in it, and go to the clubhouse and drink beer. I love that. You know. My son did that in baseball at the twelve years old, hits a two run home run, runs around the bases and comes right off the field and came right over out of the dugouts to me and said, Dad, I'm done. I said, you got to talk to the coach. And he went over there and to hold the coach shook his hand right.
He'll be telling that, you cho story. But we had witnesses there. You can we call it any witnesses My mom and you know your mom. I have the ball still. Oh yes, at this boy out here, sand light out here, boy, look at him. I feel like you too, is a character would be in saying a lot as a kid actor. Men's golf guy selected to play in the NCAA regionals at Yeah, that's so have you played, eagleized, right, I'm sure you have. Yeah, yeah, not of course that course is not easy one bit.
That's the one with that like that the brush and the yeah that part three you look at that waters like please pleading it out, you'd be like you're talking to you, like get down, stay down. Yeah, it's absolutely it's a great course. It is. I can't. I mean you also get lost, like don't just bring a thousand balls because like you get lost, don't go you can't search for your ball like this is a pro pro
course. Uh. One is great to host. I don't know fully the golf rules and the regulations from how you host, like do you get a boy you get tired of like you're teeing off later than earlier. But I'm gonna I'm interested to go check it out because like you said, I like to support all of all of our guys and support our teams. But uh might I might do a reporting live eagle man. We'll see how that goes. You should do that, I should, I should. Let's look at
this video. Women's golf selected to play the NCAA Regionals as well beat guard the right right, now, that's great, you know great. Further man, I'm great that you know we had that video, you know, show them love and see the whole selection process. I know you see it a lot in uh with basketball and everything like that. But it's good that they got their shine see their moment up there too, so you know, excellent ass otis say kudos to the golf team. Unsuccessful regular season and uh as
they go on now to post, let's keep rolling. I mean, people realize, man, both programs consistently win. Like they don't realize. I mean, Stacey continuously is winning championships at the championships. She is what was that stat? I think she is one a way of surpassing Tom in big team championships. Is that right? That's right man. There was a special over the where Tom came on to the course and they did this kind of
walking segment where they walked the course and like golfed a couple holes. But they have video of it. We probably need to find that for next Tuesday to show it. But they were talking to Jokings like basically Tom saying, hey, you're the goat, you know, not me. It's you. You winning championships at the championships. But she's always recruiting heavily and getting the best women out here to golf for the Green and White. You know,
fun fact. I mean I have been on several cases golfing with Casey Luba and the men's coaching. He beat me. And then also like one other time, a couple of times I've been out with Stacy Slovnik who beat as well. Guys, just so you know you like I would, I would hope that. You know how you got that, I mean you got the slow drawback. Yes, he does, he does. Jesus, you man, it's good. Hey, you know, guys, we're talking about all
of sports right now. Men's tennis. Look, we have Osan Bears and Max Sheldon received that large bids doubles bid because the nc A tournaments the first double's appearance by ms U since twenty fifteen. How about that? And our boy Harry Man, Harry Harry head coach was what the last one. Yeah, it was the last one of his doset partner to be there. But
it was weird how Harry. You know, Harry was assistant coach under a long standing men's coach, and you know it was weird because remember he got he left, took a job and then our head coach resigned or you know, retired, and they brought it right back. It even start the next st the next school. It was like, you just he's just wasting a whole interview process and like highs and lows, like it was a crazy thing.
But we got a young coach and uh, he's bringing in the talent too, and you know they're looking to build a new facility and uh, you know tennis's balling man with that question. He also also ozon Barnes. He receives a n c A tournament uh bid for the first time as a singles first time since two thousand and seven. Wow, that's like when we were in school. Uh huh, I'm waiting on the shop. She has a tennis story waiting. I actually was, are you the one up?
Are you the one up? Man? Like it's got anything crazy? That's it. I took tennis lessons up until twelfth grade in high school. That's it. Hey, So you trying to be a whole complete athlete because I was like dance and like, you know, the regular sports. But yeah, what's that like, you ain't gonna be out in these streets. Boy, she wasn't letting that boy dude, this thing you weren't doing. You was working Buffalo streets. I did it because it was supposed it's good for
your footwork for football, you know. So I did that tennis and then I played racquetball, you know, because that's faster movement for the footwork. So that was the reason behind it. But yeah, looking all the way the twelfth grade, so racketball helps you do them jump cuts in the hole, you know it does? It makes sense, It actually makes sense. What do you think? Yeah, I don't know. All I think I envisioned every time it's you in the half back draw, every time you have
nightmares. It's not nightmares, but it's like well, as a freshman coming in, I was like, bro, I was like, I'm about to get my weight up. If I can't tackle touchu, I ain't gonna be able to do nothing in the big ten. And he would, oh man, he was just thrive on like one on one safety like he always did this, Like he always did this, Like like I thrived on one on
one with the safety telling our doozey taught them how to sweep tackle. I'm telling you like that and was going down like I used to get so pissed like Nemo too. Then my ward would be the king of sweet tackles. In practice, I used to give I used to get like straight to the back because you always would get tackled and then he'll he'll roll over, but he always do this back, you know what I mean? So you get there. It was just like it's like everyone's just tackling him like in practice,
it's ridiculous. Right, Hey man, hey, I rather be what you one up, culcret. What is the sweet tackle? Sweet tackle? Look? Thigh board? Look you look at the thigh board. And Nardoozi broke it down to a science, like I know, we I know, we got a long thing going here, but Nardozi broke it down to a science. He was like, you are the thigh board is way we want to get more turnovers. So when you've sweeped someone running backs or receivers,
anybody run the ball if you're not ball security. Typically when you get sweep like you feel like the legs got with some under you. So you typically were like it comes loose, like it's it's loose right, So our drill for sweet tackle, we will bring that pad out and we will legit. Have somebody standing with a dummy, and we was going there there you would come here's the thigh word. You will come in right there and just rip it with your like the arm of your shoulder. Just look not one,
You're not one leg to the next leg so they can buckle. And every time like you'll come up. It was like if it's a big bag, well maybe even a quick scap back like look, i ain't got time to get juked and I'm not about to be on coach barnation be like used to always be like, do not be that guy. Right, Oh my goodness. So this is the good stories where our doody brought the kickers over because the kickers weren't doing they were just sitting over there. He was like,
kickers, come over here, tackle circuit. There was there was our running back dummies and I'm talking like I'm talking about the legs like we're gonna have to ask I'm gonna have to ask our guests who's back, like about the sweet tackle and if they still do those kinds of drills because we know that
he like brings the thunder. He likes doing that just like otis used to back in the day under John l and you know Mark Mark Dan, tell you what's his name, the greatest coach of all time MSU track breaking records off, so fellas, Yeah, were big ten championships, you know, in the past past years. And look, man, I'm all about I do the four by four, but when you're the fourbout fifteen hundred, right,
man, I swear too, like, ain't no way man. You know how they hit that last lap too, and they'd be like they still got just oh man, I used to wait to just get that batatas. I'm like, but congratulations. You know, it's weird how quickly that indoor track winter wise and it comes to spring and then you go into like big June nationals, right like they got a long season compared to everybody else.
But congratulations, uh breaking records. Maybe it's good without question to to any track stories before we go on to I was just saying, I'm a state champion. Stayed listening good hurdles, stay in the shop. Put not as far as you stray. I go on states in the sho foot, but now as far as you you won stags with that throw. Yeah, I'm messing with you, bro, But I did I did coming like I did think about doing thrown shot at State and then I think I told this story.
Went met with the track coach and we're sitting in Jennison there. He's like, oh, yeah, this is the schedule, blah blah blah. I was like, well March third here some me. I was like, He's like yeah. I was like, well, I got spring break that week on the cancuon. I'm not that dedicated. I spring practice, right, That's all I'm trying to do. No, not happen to do.
So women's team with Lauren Freeland and Shaye Harball, how about that Alison zeal and Abby Carr, Like that's that's relative, but just because they had the last names. Yeah, No. You know the best part is, you know this one I love about Michigan State are alma mater. We have head coaches who are alums and ran in the program, right like, And that's one thing that I love that we bring our people back in our talent back. You know, it's like, hey, go out get some experience.
Some people do come up from internally and you know, climb the ladder and head coaching, but our coaches go get experienced and they learn what they may not have when they were here, but then come back and pay it forward and build a program so that women's track with the track and field team period is led by one of our very own. So you know, we were
winning championships all across the board, and that's to be celebrated. It's not just your main sports and football, basketball, but every sport we're putting up no championships. Another women's team of Sophia Lucky Shakira Dancy, Olivia Millan, Emily Bardwell distance medley relay all the time of eleven thirty and eighty seven seconds. Look this one I ran too. I ran this, man or you have to net leave sometime. You do that. You got the four hundred,
eight hundred, sixteen hundred and you keep going. It's like I was never going past that four over corner like you. A coach. Coach was like, hey, you can win an eight hundred. No I can't. Bro I was like, I only got one laugh, man Us, you ran all day. The previous record was set back in nineteen ninety seven. Guys, I mean, this is unbelievable lot of records in the in the in the relay races for Michigan State Track infield which is good. I mean
that shows teamwork. That shows a lot to all of them. Congratulations to everybody that's out there, you know, and you know, shoot you and myself a sporting the deal right here. We gotta we gotta support our guys over at I Hop and let's listen to this message from them, introducing ie
Hops New Eggs Benedicts. When you take a poached egg added to a crispy English muffin, fire roasted poblano peppers, and shredded beef with our rich and buttery Hondaise sauce, you don't just get our handcrafted new Eggs Benedicts on your plate, you get a smile on your plate and new Eggs Benedicts in four delicious flavors on me for my hop doesn't look bad, fellas doesn't look bad at all. Without further ado, ladies and gentlemen, we are going to
bring on the born again man. My boy, Bradley joins, this is spartan. What's up with the football? Is that the intercepted ball right there? You ain't keep that? You know you did block them on it? A block? Yeah? Does it have? Huh? Is that a block? Symn't? Don't oh they don't put Okay, that's the Hey, welcome back, bro, welcome You should have had that mate, welcome back. Yeah, yes, we do need to talk about that because you know, talk about like you know, everybody in part Nation, you know, was
on pins and needles. Right, It wasn't pins and needles. It was complete panic and pneumonium was going on on the outside of the football building, right for sure. And it's like, you know, what, what, what's gonna happen? The skies fall and everything. But you know, you make the decision to come back to this said after going into the portal for a few days, and it felt like like the sun came out. It felt like the dark cloud was lifted. And you know, I see we
still have two guys still in the portal. But talk about the journey from the decision to go in and like what that felt like and what you had to go through in order to push that button to enter the portal. We'll talk about coming out next. Oh, I'm not even gonna allow to. It was like it was scary at first. I always talking. I was on the phone my mom and I'm like, I don't know, I was to shake. But I mean at some point I just had to drop my
nuts and do it. Mm hmm. We had to talk. I don't want to get into too much, but we had to talk arrange some things. Right now, trust is work. You know you're looking at like, you know, last time we've seen you, you know, you had the brace song. You know you had You've been putting your body on the line. We've known that the last two springs you've had surgery. Because everybody can see the impact that you make when you do make a play on somebody.
You know, you make a play on a person and knock the ball and we're gonna get in the sweet tackle in a minute two. You bring the pain. So you know you're putting your body on the line all the time. Is it fair to say that, you know, you just want to be appreciated for doing that, because it's the mental games that people People don't know this, the mental games sometimes that go on with coaches and players and
everything that happens around. You can get to be a lot and and you know, no one's immune to that except you to but you know, like for the rest of us, it's like, look, you know, at some point, now you have some power. You have leverage that we didn't have when we were players, you know, And and I community for taking that that that that you know, that step and doing it while you're in the portal. What was it like? Who contacted you? Like, you
know, without that whatever you want to come? Like? What was that like? Like, you know he's gonna ask you. Man, Look, you know it's straight for now. I knew he couldn't avoid a question. There's a bunch of schools that hit my phone, but the majority of it didn't get the time of the day to get to talk to me because I was I really my mom my mom said, was really not even focused on leaving because miss still was my top priority. But at the same time,
I had to what I had to do. Mhm. So when you testing the waters, I mean you you have the full autonomy and like I said, this is a different age and time in college football, and consider it being free agency. Right, you're hitting that portal testing the waters, you know. One, I know you had to make that growing up decision and and call and talk to our current coaches and right and uh, you know
we did see you tweet. You know, you know, family values over everything, right, Like, yeah, it loyalty, advalues everything, so you know you knew that, but like fully talk about one the work you put in and going to the next place and having to kind of earn that for one years. I mean it's almost leaving, leaving that work here and trying to go somewhere else. Just talk about that from when you made the
decisions that. I mean, it's really not too much to say. Uh, there wasn't no point of me. You're really getting in the part of I didn't really want to do it. But sometimes you gotta, oh, I can't see that work because that's gonna sound like you feel me, but you're feeling. Yeah, you felt, you felt, you know, like the way that the game is, I mean we we we know what you're going through, like we get it, like we get it. It's not
like you know something wrong. You just need clarity. Yeah. I ain't really too much trying to trip about it because it is what it is at the end of the day. But this is when my ladys started out and just went to finish up. Mmmm. Yeah, well, coach d sais finish what you started right, Like it's all things gonna come full circle? Man? And one all right, No, man, I'm I'm excited that you back my brother. Like, of course I want you to. I want you to do what's best for you. But you know, zero on
the on our side. Man, we got a dog. Maybe you feel me, So I don't want to let you go on a dog about that Chuck. So you know all that, you know happened. You know, you went through that emotional roller coaster. You know, like you said, you made this. You talk to your family, you did that. I'm sure you talk to your family, talked to coaches again, and you you came back. So now what's your mindset going forward? You know what's your you know, the goals for the season. Now let you know all that
stuff's behind you now it is behind us. Now what's that mindset going forth? Like? Do you feel like you have a chip on your shoulders right now? I got a real big chip on my should I can't read. Hey, yeah, I thought the first two years I ain't really seen nothing. But this gotta be my year just the bag yet my third year, my true junior, it ain't new rare street. True, I got two more years. Can't was no more time? Amen? That? Amen?
That? And so with with that said, you know, what are some things that you plan on working on fine tuning this summer going into the season. Well, my goal is to be once at least playing at one seventy three. Uh wow, at least you want to be one set the five. But you know it depends on how every day work out. But I'm trying everything to get there. So Kyle said that he's gonna be on the pancake diet. That's what we got it. We gotta drop some pancakes with
the l B sakes. You're gonna get into the whole. Get them a whole can, get them a whole cown. When I was in when I was in school, when I was in college, I wish they would tell me, hey, you gotta put weight on you and me both A plan or the B plan. What's that? Were you on the B play on the sea plan training table? Okay? I was able to go. But for those who don't know, before you start training table are nutritionists will put you on plan. So seat plans. You can imagine our guys that need
to lose weight. B play was like just maintain but to tyre type that they live between a potato celery. Uh A playing I think we used to go in there just absolutely. But the thing like fortunately for me, I kept my speed at that time. In so but in the off season, like we will go work out, you know, we have our summer classes, go work out with coach Man in the season run and then you know we go to Cherry Lane. We're grilling. You know, we're grilling.
We cookouts and everything like that. For my you know how the scouts and for the draft they come up with, you know, like a write up about you. You know everything were like you know, big back, bruising back, blah blah blah blah. But one thing that they had has some tendency to put on weight in the off season barbecue chicken. And yes, we didn't have all that stuff that when I played. Man, it was just like everybody do what they do. Just it was trap. It was
though you know what he's talking about. We didn't use those words when we didn't call it. We didn't say trap back then. But the death damn sure, it was guys. You know, look Chuck talking about the portal, Right, you had two teammates and went in the portal. But you know, before we discuss that, like there's there's there was a statement made by one of the three of us a couple of days back about going into portal, whether or not they wanted you back and all this stuff. But
it kind of has changed its tune completely. Let's let's rewind to take here. This is Tyler Buckner is entering the portal with the understanding if he doesn't get the offer that he wants, he can come back. See see, I don't know, I don't know. I'm a I'm a US sweet hour not I mean my guy, Like, what do you guys think about a guy? Don't I know? Colin Hayward did the same thing, but there was a coaching change, so I gave him a pass on that. You
know. So you know because when coach D's last year he was gonna transfer, Coach Tucker came in. They talked and it was a good fit for him and it was the best decision for him. I don't like this. If you're leaving, take your ass out the dough You're not if you're not, Like, how are you going to be in the locker room? Like, I'm not gonna really expect you. Yeah, tell you what were you talking about that I was talking about? If you're at Notre Dame. I'm
not talking about Michigan State. What it was. Yeah, you can apologize. You know. It's one of those things that you you you sit back and uh, you know, it's like you know, it will never happen to me. You know, I'll never get I'll never get cheated on, you know, until it happens, and then you realize the good times. You know, you say, it ain't no phone the rabbit. You got the many people on the sooda like say what you say? Our guys, these are our guys. You know, I welcome back our guys. You
know, that's the thing. Our guys. I welcome them back. You know, anyone, you know, anyone else and everything. How did you know? How did you know that the quarterback from Notre Dame wasn't one of their guys? Because if he was their guy, he's not their guy. He was Tommy Reci's guy. He's Tommy Reese's guy. That's why he went down to TUSCALOOSM Man, you gotta be careful. That's all. That's what he did. That's all he did. But he look, look they said
he was allowed to go back to South Fenkon. You didn't want to let him. But it's okay, Look, we're not going to delabor this. We all know what really happened here and we're all happy that that that Chuck came back. But Chuck talking about you know, you got a teammate. Man. Here's the official statement right here from Keon Kohleen. He sends a letter out to the Spartan nation. People started reading into it because there's a
signature from mel Tucker at the top. There has nothing to do with anything. Darius snow confirmed that because he does all these things for people. But out yeah, it seems like Keon feels at this point he's moving on. Yeah, I see the looking yet oh man, Well, you know it's one of those things where we talked about it, man, like gotta go get yours yong. Man, you got to be able to do it's best with you. Man. So until we know fully, I mean, yes, I feel like we do know. But uh one is he's got to
make that decision for himself. Man, grown man's decisions, right. So but you support him because he did he did, he did great for us. Man. You know, he's always gonna be a Spartan dog and you know, go get what you gotta get man. So it is what it is, man, but we support him. Man, He's still he's still a guy. So we'll have a walking back when he gains his next destination. But we still it ain't fine until be no final, right like, so you sign on the dot of the line, we know it ain't fine
until it's final. So right, yeah, you know, and you know we said this last step and you know I'm I'm a victim to this as well, you know, and I had this old school thinking and everything like that, but you know, through thought, through sitting there thinking about how the lands, like we talked about the landscapes changed, and now it's an opportunity to empower players. So you know we're going to empower players. And
you know rightfully. So you know, you know, with h through different ways of nil through the transfer portal, if you can, you know, yes, if you if a guy wants to go somewhere and and ellivate his his status, you know, good for him. You know some people might feel different. You know, I'm not one hundred percent in either way,
but you know I support everyone's decision. So just like same way, I support Keon's decision and I support Chuck your decision to come back and be a Spartan you know, and have that Spartan dog Lenyage going with you forever, you know, will be the same thing with Kean. He he he started that. He came in as a dog. He's you know, he's gonna he's a Spartan dog, you know. So let's hope, you know, as Spartan fans, all we can do is wrap our arms around him and
give them, you know, support. You know, there's it's so asked nine to see if anyone in the you know, just because the kids leaving to start bashing them, because what that does, it just pushes people away from your program. Absolutely, that's what it does. It doesn't It doesn't say that you know, hey, you're a welcoming program that people. You know that if a kid that's in high school thinking about coming here and it's like, oh man, maybe I made it the wrong choice. I want
to go somewhere else, but they're going to bash me. You know, if you're welcoming the person back, it makes that decision a lot easier. These are kids at the end of the day. Now, that's funny right there. You're telling the truth. You're telling the truth. The back family statement that just went up there and Rolanda was was funny. But but you're right, like like anybody that has the of the guts to like trying to bash kids for for what decisions that they're making to make the best decision for
their future. It's a complete asshole, Like there's no other way to say it. And you must not really know the game. You must not follow college football the way that we do because you just don't know. Look, it's the rules are what they are. They're here to stay and we think, I personally think that for the better. I didn't have those types of situations, you know, like but I do. There there's still situations guys like Chuck. Chuck is the example of this, right, he felt a
certain way, but he chose to stick it through. And it wasn't you know, some some something that you know, Oh well you're just trying to no, no, no, I mean, you can have these feelings, these emotions, but and then those there's some dark knights. There's some problems. Sometimes they probably don't get a lot of sleep after trying to toil with these decisions. We've all been there, people that's been in that locker room
they know what it's like. But he made the final decision. You know what I'm gonna I'm gonna see this through and he's with us for a life. That's that's that's really what it all is about you. That's all the money and the kids all they care about is is that's not it. Look, you're putting your ass on the line. Let me see what you're gonna do. You get up every day and go somewhere and punch some clock and do something for somebody. You ain't gonna get there, you know what I'm
saying, And you ain't. Not a lot of us in there. Our jobs risk our bodies. Some do. There's a lot to do, you know, manual labor jobs. They exist. Football is that too? So don't act like you know hey, because then man, you know, look look y'all watching right. There's value there. Okay, So yeah, I love this. We ain't. We ain't with no like there's no there's nothing but love for you, Chuck Uh, for whether you went or where you stayed. And we loved, we really loved that you stayed. But that
doesn't mean that we love any Keon or Peyton Thorn. Who's gonna get to next who also entered the transfer portal. Peyton quarterback two year starter enters the portal UH from Michigan State. You know, I'm gonna ask you, Truck like he as a player that you know you've been in the locker room the whole time? What does this do? Like quarterback is is the leader of the team? Like that's what how the game has been like predestined to be
right for everyone? Like quarterbacks? A guy? What does that feel like for the Spartan players right now? I'll go because I was part of right that's most Always keep it real, man, I was like, bro, I was one of them. You ever talked? Check the question since you since you came back, have you have you had conversations with teammates you know since you've been back? Yeah, not too many, but I know I even got I got I gotta have a conversation with Tatum. I've seen them
walking a dog yesterday. He was like, live live, that's awesome, man, I chuck, I told you this man twice, all righty, But I told you, man, like you are inked in the history books forever right with that one play, And I told you about like man Spartan Spartan fans. Man, they love you know, and you're gonna rock with you from here on out, man, right, So right, so there's gonna be some more picks, some more big play hits. Now what we
gotta get that weight up so we can sting on the field. Maybe that's what it is. So oh that was me, man, my bad. Yeah, we know, we know. Look Harriet Dean, tuk tuk tuk. So look it's you got, you got Peyton, Thorn and Keyon, you know, and so you gotta we gotta get you. You gotta get in the locker room, find out what to take a puscle, work what the team is thinking right now about this? You know, from a from a fan standpoint, you know, we've all heard the rumors talking about Kean.
I mean you know, I know that you had people reach out to you. You know when Kean and and Peyton. We're gonna get into that, but people when they reach out to you, like you talked about Dion because from Colorado you posted on social media, what what was it like? Because everybody wants to talk about prime time right and the sensation that's going on in Colorado. Man, Like he's a defensive back. He's the best defensive back they ever lived, right, So what was that? Like, this
is a big thing that now you know a lot of people love. He got the number one guy in the recruiting class the last two years to go there, one of Jackson State, one in Colorado? What was that? What was the time or like on the recruiting trail it was I didn't even know it was contacting me to my mom called me. She was like Colorado called me. Okay, so not even like three minutes later, I get
a phone call from Colorado. So we were just chopping it up. But I really wasn't like I said before, I really wasn't paying no mind for real. But I was listening to what it was saying. But I know where I really wanted to be at for real. And it was like, hey, my employer, Like I got the offer, but can you match like I'd invested, but like, listen, you know I can't in a blind eye completely, but can you max what I'm getting? Man? And
it sounds like we got that. Does I appreciate the people that rallied around and get you get you back? My brother? Man? You know it?
You know that there's there's all this talk, you know, like about where guys are going to go. It's a lot of speculation around that, you know, when you look at Kean Coleman that there was reports that there's a visit schedule to Florida State that's coming up, and guys like otis when you think about like that team, you know, and I'll ask you to you can answer that whichever one you know of what do you think that is there a possibility that that this is a landing spot for him or is it
just you know, he's just testing the wires. Do we have a shot to get him back with Florida State in the mix? I don't know, man, I think I think it's, uh, this is a weird, weird Like I said, this is a weird time because yeah, you've been playing in the green and white and in this fan base and this the atmosphere and the culture. But like you may want to go experience something that like you said, you you it's tight, it's nice, it's great, like
Florida State's culture and their whole fandom. I mean the seminals, you know, hearing that you know that chance, you know, I think that could be a factor of like could it be the offensive scheme in the system that compliments him right to help him get to the next phase of the league. But I mean there's a lot of factors that you know, you got to take into consideration. And one it's not all about the money, but it's like do I fit in this culture? Am I able to make an impact
for year one? Like I'm not here for two years, right, Like I'm here to come in here to get development, to ball out and go to the league. And so there's difference in that where I don't have time for two years, Like I need to look at a system that's gonna put me in a position to truly get the ball. But like make a difference, And there's a lot of factors in that. Now to your point,
we talked about lateral and upward mobility of a program. In my opinion in Florida State, I mean, what did they do to be like, oh I need to go there? Like that's something that in my opinion, Like we don't know their quarterback situation. Obviously we have one that transferred out, like they got a receiver. We talked about Stray who almost what had a thousand yards off of what how many catches forty three, forty three, and so you already got one one guy, But like then okay, let me
compliment them and see if we can get that. But you know, it's one of those things, man like, it is a tough decision, and I don't want to be nineteen twenty making those decisions without seeking some counsel. If you way said about Kennuti touches you sending messages like I'm just like, I'm trying to get to you, man Like, I just want you to make that decision, because this is a major decision and I know he put
in the work. I know he's put some time in. He showed us what he can do with half the season and you know, doing what he did, and just think about him being in the green and white, understanding that you got a new quarterback and be able to make plays. It's going to be a target, you know, you go your wide receiver one. And so I hope he makes it. And you know, we love his family like he is family, right, So it's one of those things that
I think that's also hurts too because we're so close. You're losing, you're losing the whole family, right, Well, we know that for life. But it's still you know, my rap is gonna have to go support and wherever he goes, but I know she wants him to be here. And it's like it is what it is, man, But it's tough because it's
like, you make that decision, you can't come back right. So, I mean what you're describing all this, I mean right now, you know the people that say these athletes are selfish and that's all, Like you see the collateral damage. You know, like there's a lot that goes into this emotionally that I don't think a lot of people that are on a screen that say ridiculous things on you know, social media get But like I appreciate you guy like for humanizing this and Chuck, like, I commend you for coming
on here like this is not an easy time. I'm sure your your triggers are going crazy right now because of how difficult that decision was to make in the beginning. So coming here, you know that you probably feel like everybody's looking at you in a certain type of way. I can assure you they're not. They're the majority of the right now, hundred tepercent of people love
you. You know, before you know there's you know, zero point oh three percent of these guys that we want to you know, we gotta almost send them to cheat you. You know I didn't, But who cares about them? This is your life, you know, and you made a decision that we loved the decision, but you made a decision that was best suited for your family, yourself in your future. So like, who can be
mad at that? They are mad at him? You know, that's the big big cat when you say cat, and you heard it here though, it's gonna be probably a Netflix or Hulu documentary about the rise and fall of Transfer Portal or the Good, the Bad, the Ugly. They say it's because it ain't going nowhere, but only triggering people. Don't be triggering people talking about Hulu, all those mamas out there nervous for that. Oh hey
man, look before we let you, we just cover a couple. You know, he had a couple a lot of teammates up for you know, NFL jobs this past weekend. You had Jade and Reed going you know number fifty overall, Bryce Berenger, and also a Mere Speed who was a transfer played your position. You also had a couple, you know, another guy that was a transfer. Ram Williams gets invited to camp from Michigan State for
the San Francisco forty nine ers. Guys, hey, look just touching know about forty nine better than I do for sure, But you know, this is a good opportunity to get that invite. You know, you didn't get drafted and you're sitting there waiting what's my next step? And when you get that invite, that's a as a as a relief, but it's also like you don't have to work, and you go, you gotta be out there
hard. Yeah, so those guys, Yeah, I went, and you know I remember specifically going into uh, you know New York Jets, you know, rookie mini camp. You know, that's why these guys are invited to you. You know, you have that four five day period to showcase yourself and uh, you know it's all about you know, picking it up, picking up the playbook, understanding it, you know, taking it from
the from the film room to the field, you know those things. And I saw guys that were hungry, you know, because they they did not get the opportunity. They weren't guaranteed, you know, to be there after that week. You know, so when you get this invite to these rookie mini camps and these OTAs and stuff like that. That's your opportunity to put everything on the line, you know, put it all out there. And I'm sure you know these guys will do that because they're prepared to do that.
So and you know, and that's what we talk about here. You know, kids transfer and everything like that, transferring places that can prepare them for this next level, you know, for this opportunity that's coming up now, because for the next five days, these cats that are invited to training camp, this is the biggest job interview of their lives. Yeah. Well when I got there that you know how quickly they that playbook was le hum like, I need to absorb as much as I can. So they go
out there and fully ball out and walk through. So you got to be Chris and then we get the full action. It's like you almost you don't worry about the eyes, like you want to please the coaches, you want to make an impression. But yeah, but it's all about yourself. Like I got proof for myself. I belong here and I got a ball out and you know one congratulations man, because that's what we want. We want more guys to get that opportunity, and uh, let's do it. Let's
get it. One other guy, Matt Carrick, also got an opportunity signs with the Green Bay Packers. Yeah. Man, we got two guys. We got we gotta read and got him and like, let's see if we can get going. I'm not truly this is your expertise, your cup of tea, like, this is your guy, one of your guys, right straight, Like I don't know anything really bottled, you know. Karen is the verse of our guy. You know, he played mostly guard on the
interior offensive line, a lot of left guard. He rotated a little bit, that's what they do. I think he can play center in the pinch. That's probably the area that they'll want to see if he has that versatility. Guy like Matt Carrot coming in the league, not drafted obviously not an undrafted free agent, as Tutu said, you know, with the little to have money so that they have some kind of investment into you. It's just come on in and let's see what you got. First atilit is critical on
the interior of the offensive line. I mean that's stuff that I had to go through my sons are going through at a young age that you you got to go in there and be able to snap that thing and be able to understand the defense. Cover just helped to. If you if you can show your intellectus higher than the next guy great and be able to go to left guard and right guard seamlessly without looking like you don't really belong in either of those spots. That's the key. So good luck to you, man.
Uh Spartan doctor Life Matt Carrick Ronald Williams going on to the NFL, Chuck look man, like you know, I appreciate you. We want to be talking about you in a similar way in the near future brother as a you know, NFL player, because that's that's that's what we think. You your guy that that brings it in and you have what like my era throwback every era. Man. You you a guy that can play in that era.
Man. And I just you know, we're gonna keep finding, We're gonna keep something that We're gonna find a way to get that food on you, man, to get you up to that one. What you say one seventy five, I'm saying one eighty one night, let's go get that you can't get back. Hey, real real quick, real real quick, though, Man, we got some great we got some great news to share, right,
and I think you know what I'm about to bring up. But uh, you know this is SPARTA powered by Charitable Gets of America has got you right and correct or am I wrong? Right? So he look fellas your boy, your boys just got another another n I deal from this as far as Charitable Gets of America. Man, So that's where that's where this gets down. Man. So we're gonna have we go have terrorible against America represented popping on here at the next show, man. So we're gonna be able
to bring some things to you. But definitely I know you got you leaving up Sunday to go back home. You got two weeks to enjoy the family. Yeah, I'm coming back man. All right, Hey have that time. Man. I know you've been away from the family for a while, but get your mind right, he say, get your grind tight. That's what my team, Clese say. He didn't work out videos on Instagram, Chuck Man, Yeah right, man, I got you. Yeah. Appreciate
all that man, all that food. Mama and Grandma gonna cook you now, all right, I appreciate you, Chuck Man, I love you, Man, appreciate your man. Hey, look got kicked. Look he's a he's a fan favorite. He's a he's a it's a he's a spartan dog favorite, Chuck Man. He's one. Know, he's a ononderful kind. Yeah, man, look look the best, that best that best scene or
cases where you asked them how you feel. It's like, hey, man, like it was the most honest, real like that's what I love about him, real And I'm glad we got him, man, because we need that heart on that d man. We need that guy for sure. With our question, you know, you know, we guys we covered I think we talked about Kean and the Florida saying, like there's there's a lot of stuff swirl about Peyton committee to Auburn. That's all over social media right now.
We'll continue to follow that and hopefully we have an update for him. You know, look, Peyton, we want the best for him too. We want him to situation for him and you know, man, going down Auburn if that's wow, you know, being in that Iron Bowl, that atmosphere you talk about Rabbit football fans, that's it. The Jordan here. You guys have played at Jordan here, we never played Yeah track and field. I've been there for a game, but didn't play. Yeah, different
deal, different deal of the war Eagles. So we'll see how that plays out. Guys. It was a fantastic show. We got a lot of you know, kudos out there for track and field, baseball, softball, tennis, golf, I mean a lot of a lot of sports and also Chuck Brantley man special things to him, guys. Odes final thoughts before we wrap this thing up. Ah, no, just it's always good to bring
welcome back one of our own. Clearly he was gone for a couple of days, came back to the program, which is great, and it's just one just keeps showing love and support. Man. There's there's there's no hate up in this Spartan fan base. Bro Like, if you got that, man, you you don't belong to be honest with you man, Like, we don't do that, right, So we support our guys and the good and the bad, and uh, let's just show that love. Man,
to keep showing love. And that's all we can do without question too too. Yeah, you know otis hit it on the head. You know, we gotta you know, show show love to our guys. We got to support our guys. Uh. Times have changed, and in the landscape of college football, you know it's gonna be you know, kind of like that
uh pro mentality that we see it happening to us. Uh. You know, we were he he and high high and you know when we were going in the portal and getting guys you know, K nine and getting other guys and then we we you know, we had that clutch the pearls moment when it happened to us, you know, and you know that's that's that's the
name of the game. Now, that's how the game has changed. You have to either evolve with that game or you know you're gonna be left behind and you're gonna be feeling, you know, feeling the poor mes uh for for myself, so you know, like I said, and also too for for everyone watching. You know, we appreciate you guys, you know, jumping on watching. You know, we're growing our numbers, you know, week in and week out. Last week was the highest. Last Tuesday was
the highest number that we had. Let's get back up to that, you know, let's be interactive, you know on the socials to share the videos. Let's, you know, do everything we can. Let's get it up there because we love bringing this to you. We love, you know, having this gathering with with you know, all all the Spartan fans and Spartan faithful. This is part of the M s U family here. Really cool. So appreciate everything, right man, hey man, that was well said
you but he he that's that's a fan favorite. I like saying that to people now, Man, a man, phenomenal show. Guys. Look, I appreciate everybody who was on the show. As I said, thank you to everyone that we mentioned, and the special things goes out to Charles uh that it took a lot of courage for him to come on the show.
