You know what I mean? God, let me take you back straight real quick. I was betting. I was in a sports by it was over. I walked out. I was mad. I might have said, what game over? Man?

When I saw that black block punt and we scored, I got on top of the I was at sports but I got on top of the table ready to get kicked out because I got my money back. That was the lighter man. Come on, man, they bade me from that sports bart, but I ain't care because I got my money and we won, and I talked so much to the whole game and everybody was pointing at me, point beer on me all the time. I took it because I was talking so much sugat. We was winning the bull bull. I took it.

But when we came back, man, they almost called the police. I won't. Almost called the police on myself straight, So I know that answer. Baby, I gotta be down in this. Man, we return that bunt, show us what we got. Remember if we can bring back some good memories for swerve here. Whoa, there's trouble with the staff. The ball I was free. It's picked up by Michigan States Jalen watch Jackson and

these stores are the last player of the game. Unbelievable. Man, you didn't see all that part because he was jumping around at the sports bar. You know. I was already going towards the bathrooms. Figured that was already mad. I just heard somebody saying, no, that can't happen. Now, I'm telling you, man, it's graat. I told you almost call the police on myself because I would. I acted the food man as you should have, as a lot of Spartans should have. I mean, we

I'm a fan of all cheerleaders. I just I just love cheerleaders. I mean, I just I just love them because they full of spirit, They full of energy. That's gonna be

a lot of young folks and cheerleaders. I mean, that might be a really good game to go to if you you know, you know what I mean. Swerve straight we go kick pay of view ass Oh yeah, we went up to score about two hundred many Yeah. Man, Yeah, that's gonna be a good game. That's gonna be a really good game. That's what Spartan D said, Great matter, I like that one. That that's a that's

a funny. That is funny. Now look on to some other good stuff man swear them. On Sunday, we have to talk about what's going on with one of our players, and we talked had them on the show. With Marion Smith. There is a special fundraiser event going on at the I Hop in Lavonia. Nick Marsh, Mama Tron will be there, Other Spartans will be there, myself, you were working on that. Lots of people

coming and some special guests are gonna be there too. All proceeds are going to go to Marion Smith's family whose mother, you know, Marian's mother's fighting cancer. Has not been given a great proagnosis, but we were gonna support

that family in any way that we can't swear. Yeah, man, I think it's one of those situations where when you talk about being part of the Spartan dogs or the Spartan family or Spartan alumni, just being a fan and someone's the need and if you're able to help those who we need, why not help wherever you can and how you can. You know, so hopefully it'll be a great turnout, you know, but whatever you can give would be a blessing because you know, it's something they didn't have and it's something

that helped the situation. You know what I'm saying. You gotta also think about that that young man man with them sillibins and the things that he got to do and prepare for a season. I mean it just I mean, thank god I don't have I didn't have to go through it, but man, I could just imagine the weight that's on his shoulders. Man, you know, so I'm praying for the kid in the situation. But those that can help out, those that can support, you know, do it.

You know, it's not gonna kill You're not gonna hurt you. If anything, you'll receive some more blessings from it. You know, without question. You know the oldest of six from the family that that's gonna have to deal with this as they go forward. And you know, obviously there's a go fund me page to check. Our social media is out. Steve Smith, We'll see you there for sure. Good to have you with us again as always, brother, you know, and look, it's just a case great,

Yeah, it's great. Serious. If Steve show up, I bet you Tim push up his shirt would be a small to a media all day long, Smedy, that's what we call it. I'm glad you agreed to it. You're right, I absolutely agree to that one hundred percent. We know that Steve don't own anything that's like, actually, you know a two ax went on that fourteen one four to two zero zero. Middle Belt Road in Lavonia is the address for the I how Cal will be there. Thanks

for the fair of family, for stepping up for this remarkable event. And you know, speaking about how here's a message from my friends right around the corner, hot to too, too too. Something's just out of us like the two by two by two at I have two eggs your way to bacon strips and two buttermilk pancakes Monday through Friday, all for six dollars. That's it, six dollars, all right, man. Look a lot of times we bring on old players like you and I, we talk to them,

we bring on coaches, and we bring on current players. But every now and then we are blessed with the ability to bring new I'm talking hot off out the oven, players that haven't even stepped foot on campus quite yet. Players. I'm talking about newly committed players like Justin Bell, who will join this is Sparta right now. Justin Bell, what's up, big fella? Are you? Are you? JD? How are you? He? He's going through people at a rapid pace here, man, I mean, come

on, don't make fun of his voice because he's bigger than you. Hey, he's your best friends, that's why, that's that's why I love him. I love all my old linemans, Man, all my old linemans. I love my old lineman's Google, just like I love him cheerleaders. I love my old liners too. JP. How you doing, baby, I'm doing good. I'm doing good man. Hey man, I saw your work. I saw your work. I saw your video your workout. Man, you got great feet, good pad level? Are you hips? You look

good? Man? I can't wait to see you with them? Pass on, baby, I appreciate that. Man. Hey, justin talk about your journey to First of all, you're playing at Dakota in McCall, Michigan, right, So what got you involved in the game of football in the beginning. It's kind of funny because I always thought during the start, I thought I was always just uh. I always thought I was a basketball player to

start with. Obviously I didn't. I wasn't head, I didn't have the size to like play offensive line, but I still played it because that's when my dad played. So he always helped me, helped me out with that stuff. So at like to middle school, off the high school, I

was always playing offensive line. And then it was just it was just a matter of like we had one combine at our school where college coaches were coming to watch, and I had a good workout and a bunch of coaches came up to me and started talking to me, and I was like, I think I could do something with this. And then the past year and a half, I just devoted with like my work and like everything I do is just getting better at football. And that's why I'm here today. Man,

that's one heck of a story. You know, you talk about a guy who played basketball in the beginning and that was your first looking that's so your body type had to change. I read somewhere where Man, I mean you went from is that? How How light were you about eighteen months ago? I say, like at the start of twenty twenty three, I was like two ten? Damn what too ten? And what are you weighing today? I weighed like two days ago, I was like three hundred. It was

like three or one. They be tell me, tell me and be honest, tell me you eat collar green with neck bones in it? Come on, dog. You tell me you eat no, you know you don't. You don't eat call of green, you know, right, you gotta get callar greens with neck bones in it. See, when you get the campus, I'm gonna have Mama Hall cook you some collar green with neck bones in it. And at three hundred three thirty five with seven the better, you're

gonna look mean and mean and being like a machine. What are you eating to get from? You put on ninety one pounds? Man? How'd you do that? It was just a matter of like my dad helped me out with my diet. It was just a lot of chicken, a lot of chicken and rice, just like balancing out my protein for my carbs. I was really just trying to like track and like not eat bad weight and make

it, make it become fat and almostly become muscle. So it was mostly just eating the right stuff and just adding everything I can and eating as much as I can of good stuff. Man, So you could still move with it coming off of that basketball cardio. I mean, how you're adjusting with being three hundred pounds moving around? I'll see, I'd say, it's uh, it's it's like it's my dad's always told me, like, everything you're doing in basketball is gonna help you. So he's like, if you keep

working on basketball, it's gonna just it's gonna translate to football. So I mean, it's always just it's always helped me out tremendously and that's why I'm pretty good at the sport. So, Man, as we see here you just throwing these kids around. I mean, is this little little league what you play? Man? Amongst boys out here? Yep? You like the right side of the line right now. It's just that's just where my coach put me because they were the senior that was playing left tackle before me.

He was playing He played left tackle as a junior, so he just stayed there. But I can play both. I've been training to play both. So wherever I play in college, I'll be fine. You keep talking about your dad now, So did your dad play? Yeah, he played at Cincinnati and then he played arena football for like a couple of years, and then he got brought up to the Packers for a year. Oh is that

right? Okay? And he played offensive line. Okay. Man, you know from when I hear man you you had connections with one of those sparting dogs too. You know when your uncle Dave's secura right old Dave, Dave Dave classed in ninety six with me. I think they came in with me, you think so, I know, I remember that. I'm god with you? Said, yeah, I think we both got the same color. Bear Man, hey Man, welcome to the show, Dave. A lot

of you this week. We're gonna see a lot of each other. Oh yeah, for real, dog come But so what is it like having your nephew man signed with your alma mater. Oh Man, It's like a dream come true to me. Uh, like I put out there. You know, I've been recruiting him since before he could walk. He just didn't know

it. You know, we've been we've been brainwashing him since he was a toddler, and you know, uh, getting him up to Michigan State games, whether it be football or basketball, and getting him on campus and you know, dressing him in green and white since he was a baby. So believe me, I did my part in this whole thing, and you know,

his whole, his whole damn life. I've been I've been steering him towards Michigan State and showing him what it's all about and uh, you know, I think that, uh, I think that we're lucky that we get him to sign there, and I'm extremely happy for him and happy, you know, to be able to go and watch him play over the next five years. Oh man, that's a beautiful thing. I mean nothing like that. I just talk about what it was like because I know you you were

on your way to Kansas for a visit and you got to call. What was that call like when they called him say, you know, come on up to the East Landson. It wasn't really call I was. I went down for like, uh like count amplized workout. So I worked out with coach em and then we were just talking for like two three hours and then he offered me and then it was just and then I could just tell it was different over there. So I had to make some some quick changes and

had to come to these lands in that weekend. What was it like when you heard it's Dave, Dave? I know that had to be special. Yeah, it was real special. And I knew that he was going up for the workout, and you know, he had tried to make it work, you know, one other time before that, and I knew that once they were able to see him in person and work working with him hands on that you know, he'd be able to show off what he can do. And and you know, I was really hoping for the for the offer for

him. I was hoping that they could see what what I've seen in him for you know, the past ten years of really getting him in shape and getting him going with with football. So yeah, beyond words, I'm you know, I I was kind of speechless when when he called me and told me that they had offered him. And I was just hoping that, you know, they could show him, show him enough things that to help him

sway his mind into committee to Michigan State. And I think that you know, from what I hear of his visit and everything that uh this coaching staff did to recruit him and and convince them not only him but his family that you know, that was the right place for him. And when he came back, he told me just it felt like home. And you know, I feel blessed that he's able to go there, and uh, super happy for him to have the opportunity to go and and prove himself. So yeah,

I was just excited beyond words. Oh man, that's a beautiful thing. They do you show? Are you able to be in? Are you able to get into three points? Stand? To even show JB? Any kind of techniques? I know for me, For me, I can't because CTE and then I I can't be my knee three knee surgery, and I just can't. I just can't be in like a YouTube. I can't really go out there and do my thing. But do you just talk? But

do you also show? No, show him still and listen. Justin's growing up, Uh, you know, within three miles of me, my his entire life, So he got to see me when I was younger and I could actually still been. So yeah, I've I've I've helped coach and train him throughout this whole process. And I'm sure that he'll tell you that it wasn't always Uh, it wasn't always fun, and I was tough on him

and hard on him. But yeah, a couple of weeks ago, we we got into a little hand fight here in my kitchen and uh, I almost had to put him over the uh over the island. Damn right, damn right, damn right. And JB, don't don't don't get beside yourself, jab because he's going dog, we stick together, We'll be yours. He's a fun dog. No your spun do sometimes you got to think that your spun do's on ass sometimes. Right, and secured my dog, so I got to help him and then we'll be all right in the end.

We all give each other, right, that's right. I'm glad that we were in my house and I could say it's time to stop. So uh, you know, yeah, because he's got some strength on him now, so uh, don't let him fool you though. He's you know, he's been playing football his whole life, and you know he's he might have been, you know, only two ten, but you know, Justin's been been

training for this his whole life. And and really his body type is is finally catching up because he hit a growth spurt here a couple of years back and grew about four or five inches and now finally his body is catching up to where how it was before. He's always been this kind of bigger kid that uh has been strong, and then he kind of thinned out, and you know, they thought he was going to stay that way, but now his body's finally catching up to where where it was and where it should be.

So he's got great genetics. His dad is six eight and three twenty eight, you know what I mean. He's uh, he's he's he's got uh got a lot of big folks in his family. And you know he can carry this weight and move around with it. So yeah, he's he's been uh, he's been really improving, I would say over this past year and getting used to the the uh the added weight and his body felling back

out. So just excited to see how he carries himself this year and this season, no doubt about it. I'm gonna I see the great Tony Manders checking in saying less and got before your time, justin, But that's a dog, right. There was a beat there, you know what. Tony kind of remind me when he was playing ourselves some clips. What's the dude that was in and with the Dolphins and with the saying that the ammt in Buffalo Bill? What's his name? Oh? Dolphins? In the Saints.

You you're talking about Kyle Turley. Yes, Kyle, he's better than some bad bullet boy. Hey, there's a question for you, uh here justin from Mike willis, what's your favorite Adam Sandler movie? That's my Uh, that's my other uncle. He's watching that. He knows, he knows, he knows the answer too. So what do you want happy more? That's the one with the golf club, I mean with the hog stick. Yeah,

oh yes, indeed that's mine. To day. I knew we got a lot in coming because I saw the way you were pancaking those guys. I used to make those guys missed. You didn't have to do that with me. But brother man, justin so, what when are you so you have a season high school season? Still deal with right now? Correct? So howse things going there? When do you guys get back and report the camp and all that? Right now, we have speed camps. We have

speak camp Monday and Wednesday. So that's like that's an hour of weightlifting, an hour of speeding agility, and then an hour of just football. So we do that, uh, next week. The next week's the last week of that, and then we start our hell week, which is conditioning, and then we start fall camp after that. What kind of conditioning, man, what's the hardest conditioning thing that you guys do? We actually do a

Michigan State test. It's we run gassers. So it's uh. So we have like certain times and like the times are from Michigan State, so like for alignement, I think we I'm pretty sure it's like eighteen seconds we have do a gas or in the uh whatever he feels like. Sometimes it's sometimes it's ten, sometimes it's twenty. It really depends on old No, hold on, hold on. Eighteen second. That's a half gas. That's not a whole gas, right, that's allow No, no whole gas. No

eighteen seconds. Come on, you ain't talking to somebody. Ain't never done no gases. Brother, that's a half gas. They don't even do all right, sideline sideline, the sideline back, that's what we do. So we start on one sideline, go to the other, and then come back. Right. That's a half gas, that's half yeah. Yeah, how much you want him to run? Sad? Do you want him to run? You want him to run full gassers? Yeah? Tell you. Now,

here's a news flash. They don't even do running tests anymore in college. They don't know. I'll tell your coach that he told I mean, it's true, it's true. You believe that. Remember that he said kill us out there one time? One times and forties and all that. No, No, you know what the worst Rember we used to have to go to the President and run the hill. Yeah, run the hill, Yeah, that long hill. To me, the worst one was at the at

the stadium when we ran the steep hills at the stadium. But from what I hear, they have one of those hills at the in the weight room now right, Yeah, they can do it right in the weight room every day if they want to. Said, yes, that's crazy, man, Hey not not not to have flashbacks anything like that. But do you all remember our lockers? Come on, man, hey what about those? We got the new, the new ones out the cages and the little regular had

remember that little regular. I'm gonna tell you quick story, JV. I was a freshman and someone told me that we had to pack our stool. So I'm trying to put my he was going to Nebraska. Somebody said, ye man, you gotta you gotta pack your stool. And I come pick my stool in the bag. And when I went to go ask snickerbocker, Schniak say, nah, they got your rookie. No, you can't take the damn stool you were trying to take it. Take it to the road game. Man, Come on, man, I know a lot of those

disappeared when they did the remodel. Finally, the probably secure as basement right now. Oh yeah I got one. I got mine. Yeah yeah, one of those every day justin you get they're gonna have it all. Nice seats in there, the air you put your shoulder pads, and those air condition lockers that blow him clean and all that stuff. It's different. It's a different world now we get all the luxuries. Bro, it's all. It's all suburb living now, you know what I mean. We we was

over there with it. It was two projects and you know what I mean, things like that. Now it's all suburb living. Chris Bell, Yeah, I hated the Mount Test. That was the most. That was the terrible ship ever, Like why why are we running a mile? That was stupid? Yeah right yeah, A bunch of cu club football it is.

Oh man, what's this? I said a million times? Would have hated it, but I would have had Ken Manny what oh okay, we would have probably hated it, but if Ken Manny would But if would have had Ken Manny when we were there, we would have won more than just two Big ten titles. I'm just saying, I don't know. I don't care. I think Kerry's saying if manny, I don't know, they would have won more. I don't know what. I don't know what he's saying.

I couldn't follow that. How many two twenty five reps can you do? Justin last time I did it, it was nine. Okay, that was a while ago. So it might be you got long arms, man, I mean how long? What is your wingspan? Dude? Eighty four inches? Yeah, that's that's uh, that's seven feet man. So so you got a dad that played, You got uncles around you that's played, So you've got a lot of knowledge and experience. Man. You know, i'd say to definitely lean on that. I know you're doing that, and sometimes

it gets tough to hear uncles and dads. You know, you want to tune them out. You need to lean on them. What is your goals for this season in high school? At the cover? Well, first of all, in the championship, we have a one of our high school hasn't won in a while, and I think we can definitely change that this year. This could be like our best chance. So that's that's first thing for me, and then there's like individual I just want to like have like no

like four sacks because I had won last year. I want to change that to zero and no QB pressures on my part. And I also want to make all states so this total domination. Man, you know, you know you know how you start to do that to hit all your goals? How one player at a time? Brother, you kind of sounded like repledge just there, but that was smooth straight. I like that. I like that. Whoa yeah, hey JB. I need you to add a couple of pancakes to that too. Now we need to get we get it. We

need a number of pancakes every game. I saw something on the highlight tape. You know, because when you pancake and you lay on them, you tell them you do that. You got a sister, Let me get your system of me. Just think, you know, just lay on top of me. You know, we need by at least five or six pancakes a game. You know, I got you to that, maybe even more.

Man, we got to bring on your man from Spartan's Illustrated. We're bringing on none other than be moment. And you called, I call mowing.

What's up? B Mo? I muted? Be more. The more I muted, I there we go, There we go. I had to figure it out for a second. Yeah, what's going on? Fellas? How are you guys? Man? You got the mood light going? Man, what's up? You're in the dark. I mean it's kind of dark, like there's no overhead light here in the hotel. It's you're like normally in the hotel room, there's usually that overhead light. There's none of that here. I got like a lamp right here. So the lighting situation is

all messed up. But but I'm here. What you're doing in the hotel? Man? Down in Indianapolis for Big ten media Days, you've seen the duck in the river. I saw pictures of it on social media. I have not investigated it yet. We'll see if I have time to do so tomorrow, but I do want to see it. That looks hilarious. Hey be more. If I was there, I get to be be good and I shoot that, man, I promise I'll bust a hold in that duck. You shoot it? Yeah? Why not holding that dug? Man?

So what do you think next last year? Should we uh, maybe we should pitch to a NSU that maybe we have like an inflatable sparty on the river next year. Maybe what do you say we should? Everybody should do it. Just flood the whole river with mascot. I mean all eighteen teams. I think that'd be fun. Both we just painted the river green like in Chicago. M hm, hey, look be more. Let's talk about the new article that just came out. Man about that. Let me say

this correctly. The top thirty incoming incoming athletes that we're most excited about it MSU incoming. I know people aren't going to hear that, but the top thirty incoming athletes. Yeah, so uh, spartans illustrated. We put out an article this morning. It was there was about like a half dozen of us that helped on this that kind of came up with the list of thirty athletes and that wrote some of some of the some of the blurbs about each

athlete. We have players from from football to men's basketball, all the way to like men's tennis, women's soccer, gymnastics, volleyball, there's all sorts of sports on there. So yeah, it's the thirty athletes we are most exciting about, excited about coming into this season. I mean, like you see, men's tennis should have another good team. They have two guys here on this list. Obviously, football we have about a half dozen I believe

football, track and field. Meg He is the big one for women's soccer, as you see there on the screen. She's a transfer from Providence, so big goal scoring threat for women's soccer. Was a big addition for them. So there's a bunch of athletes that everyone really needs to know heading into

the Michigan State sports season. So so talk about this. I'm looking at the list as you're going, and you're scrolling through it right now, you know where he's the first football player I think I saw twenty seventh, twenty nine, we had Nikai Martinez CF transfer YEP, talk about him a little

bit, Yeah, absolutely, So he's transferred from Central Florida. He's a defensive back, so he was a spring portal addition, so kind of maybe went under the radar a little bit because I know Michigan State made a bunch of spring transfer portal additions in that secondary with Ed Woods, Jeremiah Hughes, and Nicki Martinez is probably one of the more notable ones of the bunch there. I mean, he had put up decent numbers last season with UCF,

was a starter for them. He's probably gonna play safety for Michigan State, but he's versatile as well, can play free safety, can play a little bit at slot corner as well. So he's a versatile guy. But expect him to see to see him mostly at safety. I would imagine this year safety that's a position to need. You know, I have to losing Jade Mngum obviously to the portal here anyway, and then you have guys like Dyaling Tatum and Malik Spencer that'll hold things now and there right now as well,

So that'll be key to see how he does. Again, this is the incoming, the best incoming. So we have Tanner Miller looks like for football as well at number twenty seven. Yeah. Yeah, So when you talk about incoming, this is kind of a combination of some are we have some incoming freshmen on here and also some transfers kind of a mix of both, So that's what we mean by incoming Tanner. Miller is a big addition for the offensive line, the offensive line for Michigan State. Kind of the position

group. Me personally, I have probably the most questions about just a little bit of death concerns just from my perspective, how I see as a little bit of death concerns there. But Miller has positional versatility. Again, he can play a little bit of guard, will probably play center for Michigan State, I would imagine, But All Pac twelve guy was really really good at Oregon State. So he was probably the biggest addition at offensive line this offseason.

So you know, he was raised on the College Football twenty twenty five. Of him and Velly, we're the top athletic numbers. I think they both had eighty sevens from Michigan State. So we're expecting a lot out of him. Speaking of offensive line, b Moore, we've got Luke Newman. Now you forgot about him here coming from Holy Cross. Yeah, absolutely, we have Newman at twenty five, So right up there with Miller on the

offensive line. He's a spring or. He committed to Michigan State in the winter, but didn't enroll until after spring practices, so we really haven't seen much of him in the Michigan State uniform yet. We'll get our first taste kind of at at fall camp here in a little bit. But Newman mainly played at left tackle for Holy Cross, but I would imagine it's gonna shift

in the guard now at Michigan State. But again, positional versatility, it's going to be important, especially at offensive line, which has some question marks. So I'm excited to see Newman. It's coming back to his excuse me, to his home state, so that's exciting for him. Yeah, Newman, Big time edition as well. Man, We're gonna throw a curveball at you beat more to see how you doing. Jay C. Shuler softball, Yeah, softball player, excuse me, Yeah, she pitcher twenty three and

four. Obviously that's outstanding record for a pitcher, a really good the IRA and also can swing the bat five twenty three average. I mean, that's pretty dang good. If you're getting hits more than you're getting out's that you're doing something right. Loving home run. So she has some power as well. So I think she was the only softball player to make the list, but so she's definitely one to watch out for right coming out of Illinois.

First player in Illinoid to be named first team All State in all four years in the sports. So Illinois has got some good athletes where you know, we gotta we gotta gotta tip your hat to her. They gotta they got a few. But b more, do you have anybody on the hockey team, because we was knocking on the door, we got anybody coming in on the hockey team that could take us over the hump because I want my hockey jersey and I want to wear when we win a championship. Absolutely, we

have two hockey guys on this list. The first one is at number twelve. Michael DiAngelo decommitted from Arizona State. Yes, Arizona State has a hockey program, which is pretty hard to believe, but they do. So he decommitted from there, committed to Michigan State. I believe he's a defenseman. If no, he excuse me, he's a forward. He played for the USA National team development program, which is one of those top youth programs in

the country. They're training center is actually located in Plymouth, Michigan, So that's kind of perfect. They're not too big of a transition for him from going from Plymouth, Michigan to the East Lansing, so kind of knows the area well. I do think he's going to be in the lineup this year, probably not in the top line, but you'll probably see him, you know, second third, maybe fourth line, fourth line forward there. So I'm excited about him. Then another hockey guy, Let's see if I can

find him. I believe he is number six, Yes, number six, So this was the guy, Vladislav Lukashevich. I had a practice at the three times. Once I saw he committed, lukash I already mess it up. We'll call him Vladislav but Russian Russia. Uh played in the USHL last season and he's a defenseman. But uh, he was very productive offensively as well. He had forty three points and fifty four games played as you see there, So yeah, very productive on the offensive end despite being a defenseman.

He's kind of a replacement for for our team. Leftshanov, who got drafted number two overall about the Chicago Blackhawks signed his entry level contracts, So Levschanov's gone. Lukashaevi's kind of a replacement. Don't expect him to be, uh, you know, the top defenseman on the team right away. He's gonna need a little bit more developing, I would imagine, but you're definitely gonna see him play a lot this season. So he's not the guy that that that get into fights. I need. We need to get one of

those tough guys like me that get in those fights. That's all my job is to do, is to fight soon as soon they blow with the goons. Give me a little bit about ed Woods. Yeah, Edwards, I think we have him at where did he go fifteen? Okay, yeah, he's all the way up there. Yeah. He was another one of those the spring transfer portal additions in the secondary, Edwards was so he put up

some really good stats. I mean, five tackles for lost, three forced fumbles, one sack, one interception, ten pass breakups, so decent numbers at Arizona State. Coming to Michigan State, he was sawt after by a lot of a lot of power forward programs. So Michigan City, I thought this was a really good land when they got him. And he had a relationship with Demetro Spartan before the Michigan State corners back cornerbacks coach, So I

would expect Woods to probably play a lot outside cornerback this season. Yeah, I think he's probably gonna start and we'll see how he looks. But Edwards is probably probably the best portal edition in my opinion. In the secondary. Wow, that's the a lot. I mean, Demitrius mart what can you say about his ability to go out and find super high of talent the guys and get him He's lancing. Yeah, I mean we talked about it already.

Men with ed Woods uh and Jeremiah Hughes uh getting Nikai Martinez. Obviously, those were all spring portal editions. So Mark Martin really hit the portal hard this past spring to get guys to to kind of add some depth and even add some starting, some starting quality players as well. So Martin, I think he's done an excellent job so far at getting talent on campus to try and improve the secondary, which has been kind of a weak point for

Michigan State in the past few years. Man still sticking with the defensive side of the ball. Number ten Jordan Turner. This is Swerve's best guy because he's got the body the Swerve wanted to have. When he was a player here. Yeah, I mean, what looked like Toz? He looked like Toz. I just you know, coming from I just didn't looked like Toz. What did you think about that? Tony looked like Tarzan Man. So go ahead, be more, go ahead. Looks like a bodybuilder too.

I mean, the guy is just ripped. I mean, I mean, recorded a lot of good numbers at Wisconsin, played thirty thirty career games there, over one hundred and thirty tackles. We might need a bicep contest between said and Jordan Turner. Come on, be more, let's straight note, come on a contest. And he was ready for you. He had him on the show not long ago. So yeah, he's a you know, a downhill player. I mean, he looks definitely looks the part coming out

of Wisconsin. He's back home. He's the Farmington guys you said, so, you know, excited to see what he looks like in the green and white during the actual season when it comes up in just thirty eight days. Be more. But you know, on the basketball side, you know, let's let's talk a little basketball. You know, give us women's basketball and a man's back. That's highlighted in this list. Yeah, we'll start with women's number five on the list. Grace Van Sluton, women's basketball number five

on the list. Here, she's a transfer from Oregon, but she was probably one of the biggest transfer port editions in the Big Ten this season. I mean really, former McDonald's All American in high school. I mean she's six foot three, so she's got the size. Average fifteen points, over seven rebounds per game, started for every single game for Oregon, earned All Pack twelve honors, So she really comes in with a lot of accolades.

Excited to see because Michigan said did lose some key players like d. D. Hageman and a couple others, so they have a little bit to replace for that women's basketball team. But Van Sluton should slot right and be among probably one of the top players on the team. Wow, that's big time, all right. So what about on the men's basketball side, Yeah, there's a reason why we have Frankie Fiddler so high up. He's at number two right now. Yeah, she's in Nebraska Omaha transfer. So performed really

really well at kind of a mid major level. Averaged over twenty points per game, grib about six point point three rebounds per game as well. He's very heavily recruited out of the transfer portal, and in a time where time Is will really need to dip into that portal and kind of add to his roster because he was losing a couple of key guys, including Tyson Walker. I mean, Fiddler's gonna be huge, and shooting's excellent. He's doing good

in the moneyball. He's averaging a lot I think, like thirty nine points, So I mean take that for what it's worth. Yeah, that's what I want to ask. That's all I was reading. He averaged thirty nine point two points in moneybawl. So he never passed the ball. That'd be a good moment. I got a question. So, so yeah, I'm hearing good new points out of what it's looking like on the basketball side. Those swear you know, outside of moneyball, they're looking good. You know,

obviously number one on this list you got. Well, let's not forget number three. Four. Let's go four, three and one. That's all football now. So Jack Velling, Okay, let's talk about him. Yeah, Jack Velling is I mean tight end obviously coming in from Oregon State final. Jonathan Smith to East Lansing was one of three guys to do that, alongside Tanner Miller and Aid Chiles, who will get to him a bit.

But Velling's probably one of the better tight ends in this conference now, uh six foot five, two forty six excellent pass catcher, I mean excellent blocker as well, so you can kind of multifaceted there. And he really thrives in the system that uses multiple tight ends. That's like Lingering likes to run, so Velling and he knows the system well because he spent time in Oregon State obviously learning under Linger and learning under Jonathan Smith. So I like Velling,

I like his game. I think he's going to be, uh, probably one of the more targeted guys on this Michigan State offense. I think he's going to be one of the better players on this Michigan State offense. So I'm excited to see what he does this year. Now, in the Big Ten, most tight ends by any tight end in college football last year at eight tied for number one, So yeah, really excited to see him hook up with his quarterback from the court Vallis. But before we get to

him, we got another pass in Nick Marsh. Yeah, it was tough to place kind of Marsh in here because a lot of these top guys are guys and girls are transfers that we have in here. But Nick Marsh incoming freshmen, really stood out in that spring game and throughout the spring practices as well. I mean, people just glowing reviews about him, about his performances and practices. Six foot three, too away already has the body to play at the college level, to play at the Big ten level, So he's

got that down pat, He's got the size to do it. He's just a great athlete as well. I mean we saw in the spring game making that long touchdown catch. So I'm excited to see Marsh this year. He's definitely gonna play, Like there's no doubt in my mind that he's going to play, whether that be arter or whether that be you know, getting second team reps and you'll get a target here and there. But but Marsh,

I'm excited. This is I'm excited for his career at Michigan State. He might not be you know, in the spilight as much this year, but his career at Michigan State he's got a super bright future. You know, you know, why I respect that that kid because I think he has like three sisters, right, four poor sisters, and you got to count the mom. That's that being in the house with five women, be more five women. I know he was so happy to go to college. He's always

back. But now I got a lot of respect for that kid. Man, his mom did a hell of a job because by she raised five whoa, yeah, she sure did. Man, speaking of them, he may will be at the Lavonna ihop to help me. Mario Smith and his family, River Rouge products gonna all be there. So this is a guy that's going to be in the house and like last one, not least here on this list. Number one eight in Childs. Yeah, I feel like this

was a pretty obvious number one. I feel like most people would have put Childs at number one just because he's playing the most important position maybe in all of sports, I mean quarterback position. He's sophomore, so still has a whole future ahead of him. A couple of years in college, I would imagine left, and he's got a ton of potential. Excellent throwing the football,

actually a true dual threat guy can use his legs a lot. So in Michigan State really hasn't had a guy that's that that can use his legs just as good as he can use his arms. So Childs is a true dual threat in that fashion. So I'm excited to see. And he was very accurate in his time at Oregon State, almost a sixty nine percent completion percentage. So yeah, both fastts, his arm, his legs. I think he's got a really bright future. Excited to see what he does this

season. One one heck of a list. I'm just wondering. There's a couple, you know, baseball player, maybe got Parker Peacock, like what happened to him? He's not on there. Of that Rochester Adams transferred from Alabama baseball player, great quarterback in high school. I don't know, maybe he didn't make the list. And also Matt Forbes, I don't know if that guy, the tennis player, one of the best ones. He didn't know we have two tennis guys on here. But now he was not on

the list. Yeah, well he he was just in. He was just in Wimbledon, man, he was, and you're playing Wimbledon. I don't know what's up. We'll give him others receiving vote pople More said, no, hey, po boy, the actually because you ain't in and apples and I know you're sneaking in there to getting all the good news. Uh. The ratings came out, the rankings came out in the Big ten, and I think they had the Michigan State out of eighteen how many teams in eighteen?

Yeah, I think they had us that sixteen or seventeen. I'm only acting because I put the mortgage on the bed earlier, put a pull and a half games, and I need to know if Tim Bimo let me know, let me know. Yeah. Well, I don't put a ton of stock in preseason polls. That's just me personally, just because there's so many unknowns right with the transfer portal especially, there's so many newcomers to each team, not just Michigan State, to a team like Indiana, a team like

you know, Minnesota. They have a ton of new pieces, So I mean Mishkin's. Like I was looking at the rankings yesterday, between like twelve and eighteen, I don't know how they put them in an order. It's very difficult to kind of distinguish between a lot of those teams, like your Michigan State's. You're Indiana's your produce. Your Minnesota is your Illinois. So so we'll see how it pans out. But I would not put too much

stock into a preseason poll. And I mean, if this motivates them, it could be a motivational tool that they use that say, hey we're ranked sixteenth, We're not sixteenth, and they use as bulletin board here that that could be your hope. Now that uh, you put that back, so so be more right, right now, be more When the talker with Michigan state name is mentioned, you mean to tell me were in the second pool over there with the other ones at the Illinois now in the Northwestern you gotta

put us with those guys. We don't get mentioned with the big dogs over there, the first nine. I want to swim in that. I want to swim in the kiddy pool. They gotta win some games this year. They gotta win some games this year. Thank you. You don't want to swim in the kiddo Yeah, don't send me to the kiddy pool ship. I want to stand in the big pool. I want to jump off the big diving board with the big board, the big board. What about the

what about the river with the with the inflatable dot. We're gonna shoot that. We're gonna shoot that duck, and then next year we're gonna paint the river of Green. Hey, if I gotta go down there with myself and do it, damn it? Right? How did they get that here? Great matter? Put that in their luggage? Then somebody tried that. Hey, that's that Nike money, man, Yeah, that's that Nike money. Yeah. He probably came on his own jet, you know, oh,

man, his own seven forty seven. That's right, Gray does matter, great matter, and so be more. Man. We appreciate you coming on and talking about this. Man, it's always you know, look, we gotta come down and do a full season breakdown to the minute. You know, the season's fast approaching, thirty eight games away. You know, pretty soon we're gonna be at Santa curbin thirty three games up, three three days away. I'm sorry, yeh, So then we could, you know,

start smelling that that fall in the air, summer camps going on. I like that, Marlon. I hope we win nine games. I like that. That said is happy be too modern. I just hope we get fired. We get fired. The party on me bowl elsibility man, we gotta get there, gotta get there. No, man, appreciate it. Be more, you know, don't be as strange as you aren't. But definitely like this list. It's very in depth. Great work by you guys over

a Spartans Illustrated. Yeah, appreciate you guys for having me on you and check it out Spartans Illustrated dot comments on the homepage. There absolutely next time you get a hotel room, make sure the light it worked. I will, I will. I had some natural light coming in, but it's gotten real dark. Some went down that night. Hey, hey, have a good go to go to, you know, Saint Elmo's man, have a

steak colltc to put it on his tab. Yeah, I'll send you, yes, gotcha Yeah, entertainer entertain all right, be more appreciate you. I have to take your guys down there, swear. Hey man, that was a great show, jam packed show. You know, got a lot of stuff covered there, justin Bell and Dave Sacora. Man, that's all right, Yeah, it's good to see that. You know. They have to have family, man, they have a family member to play where you

played and to be that close. He just stay there only three miles away. So I don't know how much is surprised there was to be on the show, but it was good to have both of them on the show. But uh, you know that gotta be excited, man. You know David say've been training and mold him and hey, now it's time to put pen in the paper and get that next year and do your thing, baby all

day long. Let's do it. Look man, So I look, I'm looking forward to what's gonna happen this season, but I'm really looking forward to what's happening on Thursday. Said, give them a little teaser about what's going on Thursday. Great matters Thursday. You got you got a guy that that had to beat the odds man, and you know, a guy that wears a number, a guy that's a champion, a guy that's just a warrior, a literally a warrior. But you know, I can't wait, man,

because I've been a fan. You know, I was wasn't a fan so much in college because during that time I was, you know, changing pampas and doing my thing. But just to watch this guy over the last you know, eight years, nine years, man, I just gravitated been a fan and know that you know, he wear the Green and White. He he's a spartan dog. So I can't wait to Thursday, man, because I got twenty one question like fifty for who for the guy that we're

gonna have on Thursday straight? And who is that? No other than But it's four times NBA Champion depends the player of the year. I know y'all got a nickname for I know he tried to play football one time. It's one spring. But hey, we got Draymon Green coming Thursday. Baby, WHOA, Oh my goodness, you said who Draymond Green? Day? They there it is, that's the name Day Day. We go see Day Day on Thursday. I can't wait. Let's do it all right, Look for

Cedriving, that's a good one, right, that's a nice intro. We need a better intro out of you on Thursday for him though. For Cedricving, I'm Jason Straighthorn. This is part of MSU. Everybody, have a good night, God bless go Green. Right,
