Well, hello and good evening everybody. Party people. It is Thursday, January eighteen, twenty and twenty four. Welcome, so the only show about Spartan Dogs hosted by Spartan Dogs. This is Spartan MSU. I'm your host, Jason Strayhorn, along with my co hosts Otis the Boss, Wiley and ju to you. Colchrit, Hey, look, this is your first time to the show. You know he got that gig. Yeah, he jigg look at it, got the bills on and all that good stuff. We

wearing that Spartan all day. Baby. Look, without further ado, gentlemen, we got to bring on a special guest, a Spartan dog of all dogs, a hard hitting safe. We got two safeties. We with a hard hitting safety from the bottom of the map down in for a lot of their Florida. Well, Lottie Doddy, we likes to party, is right, joins, This is part of the ms U. What's had? I gotta I gotta get this straight now because they're gonna get mad at me.

Miami. I'm from Lake Wales, Central Florida. I'm sorry, Folk County. Baby, he ain't gonna get mad at meybody started claiming I know he from day. I can't claim Brownwood. They're getting mad. Well, you can't clan. That's right central Florida, Lake Wells, Yes, Lake Well. You go to Lego Land, you'll be right by my house. Been there lake Land? That's where that butter is from, right, I don't

know. I mean Land butter Man All the Tracks is in Florida. Bro, I haven't been there since I was a kids, so I don't know. People don't do their tractions. Man, welcome to the show. Brother. Hey, we got braidenton checking in Braidenson in the house. They trying to get someone that that's close to Lego Land a little bit. Yeah, about a couple of hours. We're good. Right, So you came in, man, you was recruited. You you're one of the guys that was

recruited by Saving and he played for him and Bobby Williams. Right yep, So talk about that going back to the days in Lake Well, Florida. But what brought you up to Michigan State. Well, it's crazy, man, because only a few people know this story. I was getting recruited, like I was number one safety in the state of Florida, and I was getting recruited by everybody all you know, all the all the big ten,

I mean not big ten, but all the SEC sec ACC schools. So it's funny because Todd Grantham was the one that came down and seen and noticed me. So when Todd Grantham, you know Todd Grantham. So so when he came down, he seen me, and he stayed connected to me. So I was having a little trouble with the S A T at the time, you know, not taking it serious. And I had Bush Davis at my house, Lou Holts, I had. I went and seen Bobby, Bobby Bowden, uh, Steve Spurry. I never went to see because I

was out of Florida State fan. So I never liked the Gators, so I didn't go. I didn't go see them, you know. But uh but I had. I had all the major coaches in the house. Man. And the thing about it was, like I said, I was struggling with a S A T at the time, and Michigan State was the only school, bro the only school that said, you know what, We're gonna stick with you through the process. And I said, okay. And I seen Miami back off, I seen Florida State. I seen all the big

schools. Well, Missis State is still a bit school, but I've seen all those schools back off because I knew I was gonna be a semino. But they everybody backed off. And once once they backed off, and Todd Grantham kept coming down, kept coming down and kept saying, you know, kept talking to my mom, just telling me that hey, man, like we want him, we want him. And when it was the decision time, That's how I ended up Michigan State. Because I'm like, if they

were lorded to me, then they'll be lord to me later. So that's how I ended up at Michigan State. Because no way in the world a number one safety out of state of Florida is supposed to leave Florida, you know, because Alabama and Georgia wasn't even good at the time. So I ain't nowhere el supposed to leave Florida. And with Todd Grantham and matter of fact, coach Saban came to my house, came to my house. I had a Michigan jersey on. I had a had a mari In jersey on.

He looked at he looked at me and say, hey, son, you got to take that off. I looked at my mom. I'm like, who was it supposed to be? Said? But the crazy part was I kept it on. But the crazy part was real. Like we laid on the floor and all he did was draw up plays. He drew up plays. He asked me question. He was like, hey, if I if I call this play, he'll he'll he'll explain the defense to me. And then he said, if I call this plate, where do you go?

And I'm like, whyn't you going this? Going this? Man? He said correct, He said, well, if I call this play, run, he'll draw it up. And he said, so what are you supposed to do now? And I'm like I dropped to the flats. And after that, man, it was it was on the popular cause they never let up. All the schools let up. And then once I passed my s a t everybody can't rushing back in. But my choice, man, that that's that's such a great story that uh, you know, because that's

something that you hear about at the combine. You know, you're in the in the in the room on the grease board with coaches and gms and they, you know, draw up a play and but coach Saban as a high school kid. He was, you know, quizzing you on plays. You know that that's a that's something that's that's next level and for you to be to have the whereabouts and to be able to to understand, you know, the concepts that he was teaching to you. It showed a lot and that's

you know, another reason you had success on the field. I appreciate it. Yeah, So, like you know, these guys, I feel like everyone on this everyone on this show right now has went through a coaching change. And so you went from coach Saving to you know, Bobby Williams, and like what was that like? And it wasn't like anything that you see now the coaches leaving and not talking to their team or you know, switching

up. But how was this transition from Saving and Bobby Williams. We all have different stories people tell us and why Saving left and but how how was that transition when it happened? Well, I mean when when coach Savan left, it was it was funny because he called a meeting at like seven o'clock in the morning and we got there and it was funny because I'm walking and I can remember this, bro, I'm walking across the street. I had my CD player and the song that was playing in my headphones was Tupac,

I ain't mad at you. I'm telling you that. I'm telling you, bro. That was playing in my headphones because I remember this because you know, I was in Case Hall five forty five Case Hall. You had his core memories, like that was a core memory. Like I'm walking across the street and I'm playing Tupac, I ain't mad at you. But then once he left, you know I was, I thought about transferring. I mean, the transferred portal is not like the same as it is now. We

had no portal. Yeah, so if I was transferred, I would have been stuck for a second. You had you had a portal, but you had to send it out. So I thought about transferring that going out of l s U. But then I call home. I talked to a few people and they were like, dude, you played as a freshman, so you need you just go ahead and tough it out. You know, you made a name for yourself already, so just go ahead and tough it out. But now saving with more of a he was more of a like a

a dictator, you know. Uh, he was he was more by itinerary and by practice and this is what we're gonna do, you know, And cause he showed, he showed a fund side. Sometimes you know, Nick Saving want all bad but but I kind of liked his regiment because you know, it was it was strict, It wasn't no plan. It was just straight to the point. And then coach Williams came in, it was more

a little laid back, you know. And I love Coach Williams death man, And you know, I'm playing hard for him, just like I was playing hard for Saving. But at the same time, you know, when you get you get those younger guys coming in, you know, the more relaxed atmosphere. You know, these young guys don't tend to tend to know what we got, you know, so as as an older as an older guy, you know, you try to instill in them, hey man,

we can't be doing this, we can't be doing that. But you know, once you got to practice, you know it is what it is, you know. So so CoA coach Williams did. He did a great job. Man, I didn't think he got a fair shape that end of the day. I think he should have gave him you know, like another two three years to build his program because he can get the city of Detroit. But but yeah, it was just like more saving. It was more just

strict dictatorship. Coach Williams was more a player coach and more of just hey, man, what's going on? Talk to me, you know, because we did have plenty of conversations. Hey, I cried with coach sad when I mean, when coach Coach Williams got fired, man, I was I was hurt. But at the end of the day, you just you got to pull your pass up and you know, go play in this game. Yeah, coach coach Sean Williams, he was Uh. When I started my recruiting, he was the guy that started to recruit me. And uh,

from talking to everyone, he was such a player's coach. Everyone loved him. There's a guy I want to talk up to you about, teammate of yours and arguably you know, one of the best to ever play the game. And uh he had an iconic catch in the tunnel en zone end zone.

Side there you got Chuck Rogers. You know, how how was it like playing with a guy like that and being you know, on the defense and seeing that coming at you, you know, on a on a daily basis in practice, and how did that prep you for the next level? You know, it's funny. I mean, was getting ready for the Michigan game one time, and uh, Chuck just caught like two or three deep balls on us. So I started cussing the whole secondary out. You know,

I'm just going off. You know, Coach Williams is looking at me, and I messed around, you know, I messed around to say he ain't that good because with me, he was like, well, Coach Williams looked at me, he was like all right, t right, oh man. But but playing with Chuck Man, like like you just you just seen greatness, you know what I mean. You you just seen greatness. You've seen You've seen a guy that you know, loved the game. You've seen

a guy that actually you know that that's what it was all about. He was about his kids, he was about the game, and you know, it was just it was just one of those things that he just he was just a good dude. Man. I mean it was sometimes like I was riding around in my car and I pull up to him, I pull up to his house and you know, we're finna hang out, and I'm like, Chuck, let me use your card, you know, he yo, yep, t you know, you know you're good, you know, take

it, you know. And you know he was just a good, genuine dude man. And I think that's where a lot of people uh missed about Chuck. He was a great a great guy, and he was a good friend man. So yeah, Chuck, Chuck was cool man. But I had to say this too though. Well people don't realize and I had to toot my own horn sometimes because people forget about this before he caught that before he caught that past in the Notre Dad game with the foot in the on

the back of line of his own. I caught the pick before that. Why don't replay that? Yeah, I caught the pick. I caught the pick like on the like the five or ten yard line, and him and Smoke just put it together and just made it do what to do? So I took my horn right quick. I mean he's supposed to we don't get that shigns he right, you know, we gotta go, you know how to say this, man? We just back there, man, hey, hold the ball, talk about it, like to if something happened on the

officive side and were running off. You know how you run off the office run past you, and they'd be like, hey, hey, my bad, go ahead, get the ball back for us though, right, I know, y'all hate that. I hate that when you hear that. You right, I told him, I told him to wrong, go bro. We just sat down and had a drinking water, right, right. I mean, man, you're still sweating and off and they throw a pick. You gotta run back out or or to hunt ready, bro, Like that's

the worst. Yeah, you're wrong, that's so true. I mean you have to y'all. That's post traumatic stress. Hey man, see right, man, like so like, so you came to Michigan State, you balled out. I remember, I remember when you was getting recruited because I was in there in ninety eight. On end of ninety nine, you was coming up. You came into ninety nine right the next year. Yeah, yeah, man, the coach was real happy to get you because it was a

hard hit safety. Everybody from the bottom is supposed to be that guy. Jayu doesn't believe that at all. But regardless of how Jayu feels look looking at looking at your career, man, like you ended up getting to play with the Tennessee Titans. Okay, so talk about your experience, like what

did you learn in Michigan State that prepared you for the NFL? Man, So when I got to the Titans, it was crazy because everybody talk about how, you know, the pro teams, like how they do the rookies and you know how they hate the rookies, or how the veterans don't get along with the rookies. You know, nothing like that. You know, Like when I got to Tennessee, man, it was all love, like you know, you got you got veterans, like, you know, God

bless them. But you know, Frank Watchick I was, I was going, I was going Frank Watchick in practice, and you know he beat me on the route. So he'll come. He'll come back to me and say, hey, look, man, if you're gonna play tight ends in this league, you need to do X, Y and Z. A lot of veterans won't do that, you know. Keith Bullock. I remember Keith Bullock, Man, Like he pulled me to the side, you know, yeah, yeah, he tell you put me to the side one day. Man.

I remember one out my rookie year and he put me to the side, and he was like, man, look, man, a lot of a lot of a lot of these older players are not gonna tell you this, he said, but guess what, man, You're gonna be good.

You're gonna be good. And for a veteran to pull you to the side and tell you that, you know, you know, you got something, you know, so I mean and then Tennessee, Man, Nashville was cool, like it was laid back, and I mean, you got second streak down now, but I mean just now, Nashview was just over around cool. So yeah, now, Tennessee, the Titans was a great organization. Man. They still bring us back every year too, you know, for

like a Titan reunion. You played there with Robert Smith An Yeah, yeah, so so you know I want no hazey going though now with Robert. No. When I told her, when they knew Robert was my guy, oh no, you ain't messing with Robert telling I met with the young fellow, I wasn't playing. I wasn't playing no games either, so they already knew that. But then I got him on top of what I'm doing. I'm all good. Oh yeah, man, you're a big safety even Oh,

there's both big safeties. Man. You know, but there's a question here in the chat talking about the what's the capitol one Citrus bold? Man, you know you was in that one right when when you talked Spurrier and the sec A lesson. That's from Alan McVeigh, talk about it right there. Look at that picture man, that game. Yeah, that's nug Johnson down there. Man, that game was so fun, bro, because the thing about it was so I'm from Florida. That's my that's my that's my

freshman year. I haven't been home since June. So we're playing the Citshes Bowl and we're playing the Sisheres Bowl. Now my mom and grandma and and all my cousins and friends can come to the game. I even have friends working in concession get in the game, you know. Yeah, I had. I had friends work in concession get in the game. So, man, that meant so much. Yeah, so that that means so much.

Man. Just the ball out in front of my ball out in front of my family, you know, and just and do my thing, because you got to think too, I'm playing with Julie Peterson and all these other NFL guys on the team, man, and from me to be in the game as a freshman. I was on the freshman that played on defense. Yeah, so just you and Duck, Me and Duck, you know what I mean. So yeah, yeah, well Duck was supposed to play linebacker, but I guess he showed up. Show a little more about you know,

I mean, welcome back to you, welcome back. We got you. Don't worry about you didn't miss nothing. Yeah, I love bowl man. I had the ball, miss basketball, steal the deal. We're good. Maybe seventy six sixty six for the final for basketball my league Hall sixteen point twelve rebound, Tyson Walker twenty one points. What they in the game, mom a ten to two run and two run. Yeah, became our family. Yep, you right, I know, I know right now you are.

You're heavily involved in the high school football world. And we talked about like you know, I know, you break down film in my roommate and Ricky Rose woh yeah, and so you know, we talked about like, first let's flash back when we had to sound my somebody, and then obviously the camp that was happening this past year in the summertime, and we was talking about like just the recruiting of efforts of Michigan stay at the time of

the class coaching staff. But now we got a new coaching regime. You know, what are you hearing, what are you seeing and feeling with like the young guys and coaches and the state of misis. But and where you're at right now, what are you hearing with the new staff? And then like any upcoming talent too that we should be aware of that we're not even

looking at right now. I mean, like I haven't really met the coaching staff, the real cru and of guys, you know, so because I was cool with Sayid and and and and all the other guys down there. So I'm I'm with I'm trying to build that relationship with those guys because once I get to know them, I'm just gonna send them product all the time, you know. And that's the thing about it, Like you have to

you have to constant send product. You have to When I say product, I mean you know you know what I mean athletes, athletes, Yeah, yeah, so, but you you have to send them all the time. And then but the thing about it is you have to send quality, not quantity, because a lot of these guys are saying, Hey, here's my son's nephew, my son's cousin, nephew, whatever, and they'll just send

anybody. But guy's no no long to look at that. You know, you want to send quality these to these guys and then they'll come back to you and say, hey, who else you got? Who else you got? You know, because that's what that's what's going on now. A lot of guys just sending guys. But it's not what it's not what Mischisian State football looks like. You know, you have you have to send quality,

and that's all. That's all I send them is quality. So right now, I've sent a few kids so far, but I know what the coaching change, I'll help back some. So I've been holding some in my vaute for a second so I can I can get them out. But most of them, most of the guys I got now are like down South kids. But I'm trying to tap into that mid West area, you know. So I'm trying to If y'all got any connections on the Midwest kids, let me

know. But I'm trying to tap into that men West area because when I played at Michigan State, we had like nine ten guys on the team of Florida. Mm hm, so I I mean, yeah, go to the boys, baby, I'm trying to get him up here. I got one of Hey, I got one. I got one on the team right now. He's gonna be adug, you know what I mean. So if we

get him up here, you know it's it's gonna be great. But I mean, just get to know the coaching staff and just trying to trying to get in the trust you to know that you're going to bring in You're gonna bring them quality and not quantity. I mean that's a big part of just building relationship with them. Yeah, it's a tough thing, man, you know, you talk about it, but you know you got You're a person, a guy, a player, a dog who played you from Florida to

the bottom where that's it's obviously talent rich. You play at Michigan State for Nick Satan, was recruited by the Goat, played for Bobby Williams and then playing in the NFL. Man, I mean, you got good eyes, right like, that's sure. That's that's that's something that I think a good coaching staff will want a leverage. I think that's something that I don't know right now. I'm sure the coaching staff is drinking from the fire hydrant.

It's tough and you're coming in you don't know the layer of the land and all that stuff. But but tee, right now, you know when you when you think back to like your days with Saving, you know, we got to segue into this. We talk about the domino effect that that has been caused in college football right now because of Saving retiring, you know, and it's like it's since shock waves, right yeah, Nick Gunn and all sorts of head coaching opportunities open up, and you see the transfer portal is

going crazy right now. What's your thoughts on all of this? Well, I mean I think the n I L and the transfer portal kind of kind of Warren Warring a little bit, you know what I mean? Because Coach Saban is an old school guy. You know. Coachaban is that guy that he's a he's a this is what I want, this is what I'm gonna do, this to what you're gonna do, you know, So co Savan, Coch Saban is not that type of guy that go out and try to

adjust. He's only time he'll adjusts if somebody run a different player that he never seen. Other than that, he's not trying to adjust to the environment of society of how college football should look. He's not doing that. And at the age of seventy something, who would want to adjust, you know, who would want to go out there and say, all right, now, I got to go and bring in a kid that want two million dollars to play for me. You know, coach save me. Don't want that.

You know, it's not gonna have so nil. It's for made for those those new coaches to come in and learn, and then once they learn, and some of them gonna burn and some of them gonna succeed. But it's made for those coaches to come in and do trial and error, and then now you have another plethora of coaches come up after them that's gonna have the book, you know, because you got to go through trial and error

before you succeed at anything. Great point. That's a great point. I mean, I mean, I know you go ahead, No I was, I was, I'm gonna go back to like recruit because we asked, well, I asked coach did by like looking at evaluating film and you know, these coaches got to look at things different, like, yeah, you gotta watch film, but you also gonna have it. You have to have a great, solid nil package that I was with offering kids. But when you're

looking at film, like what are you looking at? That is validating or that's worthy of a good product because people are all about highlight social media, film and their best highlights. Right, So like you got to get nitty greedy like what are you looking at? And then say, oh, this guy got it, I'm gonna send it. So I got so I look

at him in two waves. So one way is a great guy from being a five star, four star, three star, right, And I'll take that kid and I'll send him to Michigan State and a bunch of unknown name schools I'm not going to because I got contacts everywhere. I mean no, not not down the road. But okay, okay, yeah, you know I want the kids to go to school. That's a that's a big part you get in school. Fine, I don't care where you go, but I got a bunch of schools that I send our kids. That's five fours

and three's right. So when I look at that, that's great, great, great, great quality, you know, and you got to think too, your name is stepped on that, Your name is stepped on that, because once that kid gets to that school, it's not this is so and so from Lake West, Florida. This is t Wright's kid from Lake Wes, you know, so you have to st that quality. But then again, I'll send those out and that's what it is. But then again with what I'm doing on my end, I work with two star to no star

kids and I try to get them college exposure. That's what I do because it's so it's so Le'veyon Bail was what a two star, three star or not? You know. So it's it's kids like Le'veyon Bail or Man grown man now. But it's guys like him that get looked over and get that one D one offer and turn out and be a beast, you know. So it's a lot of guys out there like that. So that's what I

do on my end. As far as when I'm doing the film study with Ross, when we're breaking our film and Ross's our training people, and and you know, and and we're getting together collabing and making our videos because we're looking at those we're not looking at three, four or five star kids, we're looking at two stars or lower and seeing what we can do enhance their

opportunity to go to college. And that's all it is. It's not a guarantee that we're gonna get you to college, but it's it's a guarantee that we're gonna try to do best best we can to get you that exposure to get to college. So that's what that's what we're doing our end. But far as the far, far as the five, four and three stars,

it's all about just you know, he might get overlooked. You just put it out there to say, coach, hey, man, you know this kid, he's a singer and he's played he played in the woods of Mississippi, and here's this film because guys out there like that of Mississippi may nobody going to Mississippi. No, I'm just I'm going back to t Right's point about the recruiting side, and you talk about the saving the saving effect that that happened, and with what's happening now, coaching has turned to a young

man's game. You need that energy to be like we talked about last week, Hey this kid, this kid just uh decommitted from this school. Oh get that chopp already, I'm gonna run and jump in this helicopter and go fly. You need that energy to do that. T Wright talked about Savings sitting there drawing up plays. You know, hey, this happens here, you go here, What do you do there? What do you do there?

In his living room? Nowadays, these coaches are going to these kids living room and talking about this car here, this girl, this house, this stadium. They don't they're not drawing on did you draw the girl in the house? Put it back up? I don't know that's an el Camino, but camino. He Those are some of the things because next saving it's gonna go down as the greatest coach to coach college. Yes, but he,

like he said, it's he can't make promises to kids anymore. He can't sit back and say, hey, I'm gonna be there for the next you know, five years. So he can't do those things because it's what's that. I know, that's what I just said. But you know he has to make adjustments and stuff like that. And I think it's it's a younger person's game. You have to have that energy, you have to be

going. But I don't think you know, him leaving caused those domino effects for these coaches, you know, to do it, because I think it

was in the plans before that, I don't. I think going into the season he was like, you know, this is probably my last year, and probably by week third week, you know, eight nine, during the season, he's probably like thinking, talking to ads, Yeah, let's figure out a contingency plan here, because it's probably good to be it, because there's no way a school in Alabama just out of the blue gets a new coach within forty eight hours. Look here, man, look I kind of

agree with you on that. I think that Miss Terry had a lot to do with it. Nick Saban's wife, you know, Terry. I think the dads, the conversations they had had they had plans, right, you know, going into the season, or they had what one year, the five year to ten year playing they had all those plans, you know, t right. How detailed he was he is. You know, we had said herban swerving on here last week. He said, the man ain't the

same meals every Friday for the last seventy two years. I mean, that's what he That's the kind of guy he is. So he knows like okay, it's time. But I think that he was a little conflicted now. People who are in involved in like close to him over the last was that last week when it happened said that he he was interviewing coaches too. He was interviewing defensive coordinators the same day that he announced the retirement. I think, you know, like and if you know Nick, you know coach Savan's

a guy. He will vent on several people to get feedback. I think he likes to say things out loud of people that he respects, that he trusts. And I think that ultimately when they asked him that question, they said, who are you talking to the most ar when you decided to make the you know, come and talk to the team, And he said he was talking to his wife, Miss Terry. So he said it wore on him, right. I think that then that plan that may have been in

place was then you know, that's when they moved forward with it. But it wasn't. I don't That day wasn't in stone, like, Okay, on whatever the day that was, We're going to do this. He did not wake up that morning knowing that that night he would go to bed not being the head coach at Alabama. Yeah, I agree, I agree. I agree with that one hundred percent. But I think probably by week ten he kind of had a good idea that it's more likely than not. Was

that what was that the us F game, That South Florida game. Wasn't it like two week week three or four somewhere in there? It was right now. I think he was already ready, man, because, like like you said earlier, for him to go forty hours and you get the coach from Washington coming in, that was already the plan. You know, they already post a guy from Washington. They want to saving the coaches last year

to get him a national championship. So we're not going to talk about the NCAA getting him in there, but I think that they got in there for his last chance to even you know, try to win the championship. The last dance, Yeah, the last dance. Pretty much he was doing the last dance and Michigan was doing the last dance because you know, yeah about that, you talk about that in a minute in the future. Let's go back to let's go back to why why you get a girl some pigtails to

like the girl has a big tail. Lord man, that's bad. Is for everybody, so you can see it. You gotta describe, subscribe. That's so bro. I gotta get quick saving because I know guys give saving stories and whatnot. I'm getting quick saving story. So I got plenty. You go ahead, I got plenty, but I'm just gonna give you one. This was solidified me playing at Michigan State. So uh, I remember the plate bro we we was we was out. We was a practice and

we was running nine rats. So nine rat mean the safety is it's still it's covered one, but it's covering nine. I mean it's covering nine, but you know it's still man to man. I was coming down week and the safety come down week and take the run back out of the backfield. So I was coming down and the running back came my week got him, but I didn't go to him, but I went out with him. So I turned around to run because they threw the ball the Pleasic coach, you

know plas called garat Scott. They threw it down the sideline on the other side. So you know Slavery wants you to run to the ball, So get ready to run. He said, Thomas, God your man, and just like I'm talking to y'all, I said, coach, I got boy. He won in the rant. I see you don't like to be coached. What's going on? So you know, we had a back and forth. So Eric Watris and and and Skinny and all the guys run over. They was like, hey, man, you can't be talking back to the

coach like that. I said, Man, he cussing me, I don't cuss him out too. And then so we don't care about that. So next thing, you know, uh, we we were go back and watch film. When we watched film, you know, like coach Coach D said Coach De. He will be running the thing and coach able to come in. He'll get up here, slide up under the table with his little cup and he'll sit there just do his little jip, you know. And he's

said nothing unless he sees something. So the play came up, right, So when the play came up, you see me go right with this guy. I got him and then I turned around to run, so he ain't say nothing to me. So we go out and getting ready for getting ready to go to practice. You know, save it short. So he walked past me and he looked me. Now, he said okay. I said, yeah, coach, I'm good. And he ain't say sorry or nothing because he's seen the play. Bro. I'm like, come on, man,

like we did all listen. You thought I was wrong, I said, oh my god, I got finish. Joy man, he cuts me out Ohio State one time. Man that oh my god on national TV. It was my It was my fault because I posted what I posted. Had the full back out of the backfield, and I was trying to make a check with the other safety. Ohio State. We's already up twenty seven zero, and and they hiked the ball and the fullback ran to the flat caught it go touchdown. So midy, we we're not We're not at the tunnel

en zone. We had the other end zone. So I tried to jog around the fifty so so he won't say it, so he wouldn't see me. Don't you know. He came all the way out to the fifty. He will cuss me out. Bro. I said, oh my god, what if he didn't if like one thing I said about saving, if he didn't really get on you, and and and just just just show you the passion that he had for the game, Like you will never play. If if Saban just came to you and say, hey, how you doing it,

or just walk past you, you never played. But if if he really just got on you for making a mistake, you're like you one of his guys. Mm hmm. He's really trying to coach you. He's he's really trying to coach He's one of the guys. But but yeah, man, I got plenty of saving stories. But that's just who I had. Man, So what about this, and let's go. Let's go to the practice oldest and I talk about this, and I know Duck's here in the in the chat, I think he's still here. But you know those practice

days, now, Duck coming through there, what are you? Are you making business decisions or what you're doing? No? No, no, no, you can ask TJ. Won't no business decisions. No, I need to hit him because I'm trying to play. It was funny, so so I know, and I think, yeah, Duck still in him. So so me and teacher. I don't know the practices an scripted, right, so you know you know when the practices are scripted. So for some reason, man, they kept running this play. Well, me and Duck just

kept meeting, and I'm like, I'm tired of this. One time I seen Duck man, he was coming downhill, and as a safety as you can, you know what when you see a guy squinched his eyes and get load you he coming. I'm looking at Duck like, oh man, I need to speak this thag up. So I come down. We stand up. So Duck he said, damn t right, what's wrong? Baby? I said, Bro, you try to run me over? He said,

no, Man, we just trying to get a little third. I said, well, look, bro, you trying to If you try, if I see you squirtch your eyes again, we're gonna have to go at it. And me and Duck always had a pat that when when we get when it's me and him, we just thought real hard and just let it go. That's the union. But see right, look look this is when I saidured what they got to You got two huddles. They got two huddles, right, so my huddle you got, you got Jay you one huddle and

you got your ring range and vine and the other huddle. So like when you go like we coached deep, you know, coach d is a saving saving that it's a saving night so he got the same swag. So coach, do you will walk around be like right, So you're like cool, I'm gonna be able to wrap up, be straight. And if somebody don't wrap up or they go like you know, miss attack or something, he was like live, so you gotta switch right. This this is this is

fresh, like this is this is crazy like junior year. So you comes up and I start to know, like like you talk about you look at eyes like you look at their eyes. So choosing the background, two eyes get big like he'd be sitting there looking like like looking like, oh I

know, I'm about to bro It's the worst thing that look. It's like it's like Moses partner Red Sea for for you that half back draw and you I want to stand up and show you always did a little tweaky twinkle told He was like right, it's me is me, it is too And it's like to my point, like I'm not about to get exposed, So I'm about to come up here and do whatever. Can you see Strengthen the knees, baby, straight, that's crazy. That's the thing. Is thank you

straight. That's the thing you and you and Duck had a thing. Oh never even gave us an opportunity to get that. He went, it's an opportunity, he just went. That's the thing right there. I'm not trying to get it. Look, I'm not trying to get no concussion we would have made. He would have made. Then you truck me. Then you truck me and you giggle. That's the worst part. You were young, you to you was trucking the young boy, bro. Yeah, and you

giggle. Get that's ridiculous. But seem right though. So we're gonna we're gonna talk about this. I mean, we're gonna let you go. I know, but this is we having fun on here. Man. But like with saving with that, like we gotta talk. Who is your agent in the league? The Posting Brothers, Posting Brothers, that's that's that's them guys. Now. You know, so back in the day, there's one guy

you know who Jimmy Sexton is, right, Yeah, Jimmy Sexton. I mean we didn't really know who he was way back in the way days. But now I mean he's gonna turn into the power broker of C A A. That's the biggest agency out there. Uh, he manages. I mean, they represent a lot of coaches, you know, Hollywood stars, the top five picks in the draft, all that stuff. That's John Cena's agent. John. There you go, Sena. You can't see him like it.

Look, man, gim me Sexton. When you look at the people who are on the list to potentially take over for Nick Saban, he represented all of them, you know, I mean, so, I mean, do you think there was a little something game of shit going on where he was able to get all of his guys paid. Oh? Yeah, it's it's I mean, it's it's that thing where you know, it's that brotherhood

inside of a brotherhood, you know what I mean. So you know, like he's the guy that like it's okay, I don't know if this is a good reference, but it's like when somebody has a good barber, they tell another guy to go to their barber, and then that guy he could have had so good and give him a good and then and then give him a good cut. He was like, oh, man, let me tell my homeboy about you. So now you got all these guys coming to the

same barber, and they didn't want to go anywhere else. They'll wait in line for two hours and three hours for that same barber, you know. So I think that's what sexting got going on, because I know a lot of guys are represented by Section Man and they don't want to deal anybody else. Is the potential guys out here that can do it. Yeah, But it's once you get those once you get those relationships and you build that brand, it's I mean, it's it's hard to say no because all session got

to do is send an email. Hen't even to make a phone call. He sent an email and say, hey, this is my guy. I wanted to get in there, and it's gonna happen. It's almost like the mob man, like, you can't go you can't cross sectional. You're not gonna get nothing else. You gotta go to the bottom of the bear after that, right, you better pay them agent fees, right right. That's my biggest regret, man. I remember my knees No, no, nah, look I'm still testify man, because no, the Postal Brothers, like

I was, it was up for them. I had two decisions to make between two and I remember they had they had they had big Dog Julie Peterson give me a call, right, and he was like, hey, you don't you don't want to go nowhere else. But these guys trust me, and I don't know, man, My biggest regret is not choosing you took that little that little money that they took care of you, man, because you know, I mean, they had Penny hard Away, Like they used

to fly us south down to New Orleans. Like once you signed and you about to leave college whatnot. We always meet up down the ass festival and uh and then fly everybody out. I met LeVar Arrington. I played against the bar, but then I met him personally. Then they had Penny hard Away. I mean what we had, Dorset Son, we had. We had a lot of guys met Chuck, Chuck had signed with him. Yeah, me and Chuck E J. E. J. Henderson line back from Maryland. You know, we had a we had a little class coming out,

man. But one thing, and I still talked to a couple of guys that used to work for him, Like I still talk to them and we text. I haven't talked to Kevin de Carl in a while, but I still talk to a lot of guys that actually doing the footwork for him. You know what I mean, I still talk I'll still talk to them to this day. Man, And somebody just asked, what was that the prime essence fest life? That's yeah, did you whisper? He whisper?

No. But it was cool, man, I mean it was it was like it was fun because like I was in the spots with the with the guys so much maybe and Man in Fresh see me so many times. The posters had uh a sweep in at the time, what was called the dome.

I've got what the dome it was called, but uh in the same look, I mean in the in the in the same stadium they had a dome, I mean a sweet And I walked in the baby and man in Fresh uh, and they looked at me and was like because I had seen him so many times because I was working out of Houston, they used to be in Houston a lot. And then when I went to New Orleans and I'm like, they might think I'm from here because I used to see them

all the time. But it was it was so cool with them, man, Like everything was laid out, everything was cool, Like I had no issues, no problems, you know, they made sure I was taken care of. So they were good dudes. Man. Yeah, go DJ man before we let you go to right, Like, obviously we got new new staff, like and it's the first winter conditioning leading in the spring with this staff. But like, what do you think is gonna take to get us

back to the spartan football like we've known it to be. Well, I mean, first of all, we have to be where of what's gonna happen. You know, in the first couple of years, we're gonna see a lot of influx of West Coast players. We're gonna see that because that's where they're from. That's what they that's what they groomed on West Coast players.

So we can't get mad if they're not coach, if they're not recruiting the Midwest, they're not recruiting, uh, the East Coast, they're not recruiting the South, you know, Uh, they're not recruiting you know, down in Texas or whatnot. So we're gonna see a lot of influx of West Coast players because they had those guys lined up from twenty four, twenty five,

and twenty six. So if we're looking to see Midwest players come along and get and get recruited, we have to wait a little bit and and let them get settled in in the environment because if they're not settled in,

they canna go back to what they're comfortable with. And that's what that's what see, we got eight in Childs, which is a great pick up for us when you're gonna see a lot of those guys that that's that's still with their guys that they were they've been recruiting in twenty four twenty five, and I mean not twenty four, but twenty five, twenty six to twenty seven.

So you have you have you have to wait wait on his wait on wait, what did he get comfortable with the Midwest and the and the Southeast and the east, because if not, we're just gonna be a bunch of spars. Is gonna be complaining like while are we getting this guy? We

don't know nothing about him? Because it's some great players out west, like what I'm telling you was, And I think in this just my opinion, I think what we're gonna get influx in is some more on than Polynesian guys because I played with two pai pekoa a beast, yeah, and I think somebody somebody yeah, yeah, dombiton. But I played with his older brother to so they were beasts man. So my thing is, I think we're

the Midwest, especially in Michigan State. With him from the West coast region, I think we're gonna get some more some more Polynesian guys, which they can play just like us, you know what I mean. They can play just like the Midwest, the South and the East, and I think we're gonna see more of that. But people just got to learn to say,

hey, look, let this guy do his thing. Just stay calm and give him his years, you know, because if you if you just trying to get success in one year, you see what happened to us the last couple of years. We got with success in one year, and guess what, she hit the fan, you know what I mean. So if we let him do his thing and not rush him to the beast, great, I think I think we would be all right. But as soon as we

start talking about all we can need. We only had four wins this year, what he's gonna do next, then you know, you just worry about wins. You're not worried about developing the program. Because none of these guys know about being a Spartan dog. None of these guys know about Michigan State football. None of these guys know about the snow and you know, like right now, none of these guys know about that. Hell, I didn't

know about it, so I got up here. You know. So if you just give him a chance and let him do what he need to do and not post up everything and say this guy's trashed because he lost two three games in a row, we'll be all right. She gotta give him a chance. Give a man a chance, and look, look t right man, before we let you go here, everybody wants to know what's going on with that party behind you. Brother, we're you get that from because that behind you that artwork? Oh man? So uh so my guy, my

god. You know. Jerry's is my college roommate. And he had his painting and it was custom may for him actually, and uh he was moving and he couldn't take it with him. So he called me and say, hey, man, I got his sparking painting. You think you can? You think you can put it on your wall? And I'm like, yeah, I send it, he said it. I know it was this damn big but but but yeah, so he sent it, man, and I put it up. I want to It's not level right, so but good

and I put it up. But but yeah, man, so he sent me this man and this is cold. Man. I love it. I love it. So but yeah, we also got to ask, because we always ask our former dogs like what are you doing now? Full like time, because I know you got your business and all that, but we got to put you on like what you're doing, which actually, what's you up to? Okay, two things? Two things. I got Right Way Logistics, which is my logistics company, you know in Sprint Advance. Actually I

was in Follerville today doing some stuff. But I do business to business delivery. I do pretty much like plastics or like industrial material, just delivered from one bigger business to a smaller business because they can't, you know, get it in a certain amount of time. So I'm there to just pick it up. So yeah, Right Way Loigiotics, y'all can look that up. I'm out there. And my next thing is film study, which you see me and Ross out there talking. But now mind you, I have film

study. Roth has Roth Weavers World. So so Ross's a certified trainer and he's getting all kind of this man getting all kind of certifications or whatnot, and so I work with him as far as i'm trying to tap into the Midwest. So if the CHET can give me some more guys from the Midwest. I'm trying to tap into the Midwest because I got a lot of Florida

guys, but I don't have a lot of Midwest guys. Because me and Ross's trying to build something in the Midwest, you know, not only for you know, just Spartans, but just for all the kids you know, around the area. And I'm in the Detroit mentro area, the Detroit metro area, so we're trying to build something to where he does a training and I do more of the film study part which I'm looking at film. I'm critiquing what you're doing. Uh, I'm sitting back and I'm mentoring. I'm

I'm I'm making sure that you know. I'm talking about grades, class girls. It don't matter. Like I'm here, I'm like big brother uncle. You know I can do you know, and that, and that's what I'm giving. Yeah, see, you got it too. That's what one thing I'm trying to do. I'm trying to get the kids game early, and I'm trying to get the parents game early because a lot of these parents don't

know about recruiting and a lot of these kids and nobody recruiting. And one thing what started me was I used to get an influx of film that these kids will send me say hey, can't check my film out, And I would look at the film and I'm like, this is organizy, this don't look good, and I just swiped like a recruiter would. But in my

line of work, I watched the whole film. So when I watched the whole film, I see two or three good plays at the end of the film, and then I'm like, why don't you have these players at the beginning of the film. Well, I want to say the best for last. No. Yeah, So but I end up I end up starting my service. I end up starting my service because I was doing it behind closed doors for so long. But now that I've you know, now that I've

got so many people, I started my company. Film studyed with that, and we're tying hands with Ross Weavers world to do to do you know as such, you know, to get him some kids. But then it's not only just me and Ross. We do. We do tie in with the other Spartan dogs. We got Mark Dale, got Greg Jones, got Coop with dig deep. You know, we got we got all that. And then my partner in crime, he don't say much, but we got you know, Todd Duckett. You know, hey, he always gonna be involved.

He just don't know it, you know what I mean. So I got him, you know, And so you know, it's just a collective of spartans man and and I got some other guys out there from other schools. But it's just a collective of us trying to put something together. But right now, I think I'm just trying to be that that middle rock and

then just branch out to other people. So you know, if anybody el's got anything going on, and they got kids out there that need to get exposure, you know, just holler at me and send me a DM or whatnot and we can make it happen. Hey, how can they get hold asking them to chat? Okay? So my my my email is uh at film study say at gmail dot com. And if you say, if you want to know an essay for us todent athlete so at film study essay at

gmail dot com. Uh my my twitters at film study. My I g is at film study so and then I gottat I just thought the Facebook group, I haven't added everybody yet because I got over three thousand people on Facebook, so I can't just I didn't want to just click and didn't have everybody come in. So I'm going through and just making it. I'm making a group, and this group is for for parents, coaches, college players, pro players, and trainers just to come in because what I'm gonna do is

I'm starting uploading kids that are two stars and lower. And you know parents won't feedback on their children, you know, so if say say like I upload somebody straight, and you play old line, right, so I don't. I'm not old lineman, so I can't. I can't give you the technique on what I can tell you. Are you moving if you got a good motor, but I can't tell you about your hand placement and your and your kickback? You know, are you getting to why you're too close?

So I would if straight in the group, then I'm like, straight, you know, can you speak on this? Yeah? And you just look at it and you used to give your feedback, you know, and it's all positive, no negative, no, no. Talking about this kid is terrible. You know. Players don't act like that, right, And see, and that's what and that's why, that's why I got the guys I got, you know. But I'm not through adding people. I just started

it like a couple of days ago. So once that gets built up'm gonna make a private to where you know, we can have a community to to just talk about the kids that we see. Because I got kids. I want to upload now just so we can get feedback on the kids. And I would take that to other college coaches and say, hey, this is

what I got, you know. So I mean, it's just something start off with, because we got a lot of kids out here, man, that get looked over, that that need a opportunity that just not just not getting it. That's good stuff, man, that's good stuff. Just the email right here there it is yep, yep, yep, that's the email. You see how quick we are. We see you see how we do tvright. I appreciated. Matter of fact, y'all that quick. Send me a blank check. But sidon, man, hey man, this has been

excellent, brother. We appreciate you. Man, this has been great. I mean we could talk for a couple of hours. I know, we could do about two or three hours with you on this call you know, Tony out back there going nuts right now because we're twenty minutes over all right to right now, something in the mail. He'd be all right, he'd be all right. No, hey man, t right. We appreciate you coming on, brother, it's been real hey man, and don't be a

stranger. Man, come back and we open up that group so we can all be in there. We'll get some it's public right now, but I'm gonna close it up soon. Okay. No, I'm people, So I got you, okay, yeah, all right, man, all guys be man. I appreciate it. Hey, t right, we got we gotta go hit them spots out, man, I told you, man, I'm gonna tell you for the longest. You better come home. I got you. We always do that. We always do it. Oh wait, alright, all right, brother, all right, go white and man t right.

Man, he one of a can doing this thing. Man. I love it. We love to see that. Look at it, all right. The collection plate is out. I mean, look, man, how do I make it even fifty dollars? I don't I don't know about the fifty dollars thing. I don't know. Try it again. If you try it ten times. That was a great interview. Yeah, that was absolutely fun. You know, I'm just having you know, former dogs come back there and you just we just sit here and just talk it. Like I

said, we in the locker room having great stories. And the really cool thing too having a bunch of u once it's announced who's coming on. Uh, you know, a bunch of former guys jumping in. You know you had Duck in the chat there, you had Ross in there as well. There a bunch of other guys there. You know, it was something. It was. It was really cool, really really cool, really cool show. Absolutely, Hey, final thoughts on us before we get up out of

here. It's good. Love always chatted up with the former dogs and t Wright's a guy man, so uh to the point, it was great. I love. I love to kind of get back in that locker room just exchange stories and you know we always we always tell them the stories get better and better tell them, right, I remember that detail that story, Like

like I got a lot of true stories, man. So highlight of the show is that picture he drew, because if we could go back to how he was looking at that pathfolio like serious, I mean, man, I thought everybody thought you was taking notes. Yeah, I was like, he's seriously, he's gonna be like, like, what's his name? Ross is at the guy that used to do the paintings on the Bob ross Man at

cloud Man. And by the way, I didn't see in the chat, Harry was talking about gymnastics six pm tomorrow and Big ten plus, so tune in if you want to see that. Uh, we had a basketball game tonight. A lot of good stuff going on in Michigan State Athletics right now. And I mean, look, it's always great to have a dog back on the call talking about that and playoffs. This weekend plays the playoffs. So this weekend gils A hosting and your Detroit inside that joint Sunday baby,

live in there inside inside, don't catch me. We gonna win. We ain't got no left. We ain't got no left for Goston too tall and Van dam Man right, the coach between those lines, man is the right right. The collision course that we're on is it's a Lion's Bills super Bowl. Oh man, Hey, I'm I'm on your pay road when come buy no tickets? Right? Oh my goodness, we digress. No, we

appreciate everybody man, it's been a great show. Hey, Hey, We'll see you guys next week on Tuesday for ODIs Wiley, j U Cocher, I'm Jason Straighthorn, Sparta Its you have a good night.
