Hi, I'm Jay, a personal executive coach, and I'm on a positivity quest. We all can work on leading a more positive and intentional life. You, me, your family, your best friend, your neighbor down the street, even that stranger passing by right now. This show details my journey as I explore the intersection of ordinary people and extraordinary positivity. By sharing my learning stories and conversations with guests. I want to help you and me lead a more intentional life focused on

being the best as possible. Make sure to subscribe today, follow along and start your own positivity quest. Well, hello, and welcome to positivity on fire, a show about ordinary people in extraordinary positivity. I am your host Jason Ramsden. And I just wanted to say thank you for being here is Episode One of my journey. This has been a lifelong journey for me, searching for positivity and kindness. And I'm glad that you're gonna join along for the

ride. I am a military brat. I grew up in a Coast Guard family moving mostly all over the East Coast. And when you grow up, in a family that moves every couple of years, you learn pretty quickly to transition. You learn how to meet new people. And if you don't approach that with a positive and growth mindset, well, then you're going to struggle. My journey begins as someone who grew up moving a lot, trying to make friends and trying to acclimate to new

situations. This podcast is something that I have been thinking about for a long time. It is something that I hope will inspire you and will that will provide you with content and resources and conversations and interviews that perhaps spark something in your mind, in your heart in your soul to go out and to do something positive for humanity. That's the goal. That's what I'm looking to do.

There's a lot of things that can transpire over the course of a podcast series a year season, whatever it may be a little bit about who I am. As I said before, I grew up as a military brat. I have spent 30 years in the education industry. And I'm starting to do a pivot. Looking back at 2020 was a heck of a year for everybody on the planet. And I've got some changes coming up in my life here later this year. I figured Now is the time, now's the time

to go after what you want. And this podcast is a medium that just speaks to me. I listen to a lot of podcasts. It's something that I enjoy. I'm an auditory learner. And so I would imagine you are too if you're here listening to this, I hope that we can go on this journey together. There are a lot of things that I want to talk about over the course of this podcast.

But one of the things that struck me recently, in doing a search around positive vibes on social media, is that there's almost 60 million posts about that content on Instagram. There's 1.3 million on Facebook. I don't know why it's so low. Perhaps people are a little bit more disgruntled there. And on tik tok. This blew me away Tic Tac 3.1 billion, that's billion with a B not million views. with the hashtag positive vibes. So people are searching for this. People want to know more about

positivity. They want to be around positive people. They want to gravitate towards things that make them happy. And that's my goal here is to kind of bring you through. Now what is this podcast gonna look like? We'll talk about book reviews, we'll talk about conversations, interview people and bring them on the show. My goal is to find people who are also on this positivity quest. And speaking of positivity quest, you don't know I am the founder of or creator, or whatever you want to

call it. inventor of the positivity quest hashtag on tic tac, and it has really taken off. People are posting content, they're they're connecting, they're looking for one another. And I think that speaks volumes about where we want to be in 2021. So I really appreciate you tuning in and being here. The format of the podcast. This is Episode One, it's an introduction. The goal is to publish weekly, Saturday

mornings. I don't know if you're like me or not in that regard, but Saturday mornings are my time to learn. I spend a lot of time on Saturday mornings, meditating, contemplating and pulling up podcasts and listening, grab a cup of coffee, obviously, you can grab a cup of tea or diet soda or whatever it is that you get your day started. But that's why Saturday is Saturday speak to me as a time to have time for myself, to contemplate what's going on around me to be reflective, and

to really listen and learn. And so Saturday mornings are where you'll find this podcast every Saturday morning, the goal is to have one for you all 52 weeks out of the year. And the more people I can find to talk to you, the better this podcast will be. Why Now, why positivity on fire Now, take us back to about 2007 was the spring of 2007. And my family and I we lost our house in a house fire. And I don't say that to get pity or have people kind of say, all

right, poor soul. I tell you because it was an amazing result of a community coming together to support a family, both in the school community and the neighborhood we lived in. And just the generosity of folks, the kindness of people that were around us, that really made me realize was kind of solidified, and having a conversation recently on tik tok with Shane lakita, who is a podcaster himself and then spreads

positivity. And he said on his life, sometimes we have these dramatic moments in our lives that really solidify a point in time for us that that's what we're gonna decide to do. That's the thing we're gonna go after this has really changed me for X, Y, or Z. And that was it. For me, that dramatic drama or terrible timing in my life was something that just triggered me to say, you know, positivity and kindness and gratitude is something that I'm going to try

and do. Every single day, I'm going to focus on it, I'm going to get up in the morning, I'm going to try and make somebody happy someplace, I want to put a smile on somebody's face. It could be my wife, my kids, could be a neighbor, it could be a friend, it could even be a stranger. I think that's the greatest gift of all, is kindness, and positive vibes and feelings towards another human

being. And so that's the goal of this podcast, we are going to bring in guests, we're gonna focus on how you yourself can be more positive, whether that's through meditation, whether that's through coaching, whether that's through seeking counseling, whatever it may be. Having a growth mindset around being a positive person, is something I truly believe that you can accomplish. If you're up for that journey, go ahead and click subscribe. Make sure you

don't miss an episode. Share it with your friends, your family, share with whomever you want. You'll find more resources on positivity on fire calm, feel free to follow me on Instagram, positively underscore j j y, or on tik tok positively underscore j as well there. And let's do this together. Let's find our path together. Let's be on this positivity quest together. And I look forward to the next time that we can connect we can share and we can learn from one

another. And so I just wanted to say thank you for being here today. Thank you for joining this journey. And as always, be well be happy, be you and until next time.
