And just like that, we're back. I know we took a let's just call it a holiday break. Yeah, and you know usually we do a beginning, but we have so much different topics to get to to catch up, because that's the title of the episode, is the catch up. I say, we just started the episode. All right, let's do this. This took get me fire podcasts up. I'm Jizo, that is John Magic, and we are back. Does it sound do you think we almost have
to like reintroduce ourselves again? Like I mean, obviously you just did the intro right there said the title who we were? But does it feel like it's the new year and it's like do we need to start over? Sort of? And I think we're good. I mean, we did take like a long break, might've been our longest break, but we just had a lot going on during the holidays and we kind of wanted to start fresh in twenty twenty four. But I mean, I mean, we're over one hundred
podcasts and other episodes. I think people get it. I don't know if you got this over the break, but people were wondering when's the next episode? And it felt good that people were interested in We're like Yo, what's the next episode? Yeah, man, so we're back at it. Uh, this is it. This is what the second week in January and recording of this podcast. And obviously there's been a lot since the last time, so we got a lot to catch up on. That's why it's called the
catch up. I do want to start by shouting out a fellow podcaster, sketch O Matic. He has, Yeah, the sketch O Madic podcast show. Go check him out. And the reason why I bring him up is I'm a I listen to every one of his episodes. His is more he talks to like radio industry people. Yeah, And the reason why I'm shouting him out and I bring him up is because he shouts us out on a lot of episodes. Yeah, I appreciate him. He refers to us like
being one of the podcasts that he listens to. Why he started his And like I said, it's not only one episode, almost like every other episode he always talks about us. That's dope, man. So we got a shout out Sketch he has a dope podcast too. Yeah, we have him on one of our episodes too, one of my favorites. Yeah, I'm not sure what what episode was, But you have to go back and look, but it'll be a it'll say sketch on there. Yeah, so shouts
out to sketch. So yeah, let's just catch up so many things. I mean, we can go back to I know one big question that I get asked, and I'm like, why are you asking me? You could ask Jizzo because you recently went to another comic con, right, Yeah. I went to the La Comic Con, which, by the way, I saw your cousin out there again. He man, he gets a lot of like attention with the droid stuff that he builds. Uh. Yeah, he's got some dope stuff. But that was a lot of fun, man.
La Comic Con, I believe it's kind of slept on. It's not as big as like San Diego and stuff like that. But I had a lot of fun out there. I was only out there for one day. I got some I did some meet and greets to something that I never do, so I got to meet some of the cast from the Ahsoka series. Yeah, it was a lot of fun, man. The question that was asked to me was, oh, we heard Jesse went to comic con, and then they refer back to the other podcast where they say about your anxiety.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, the big crowds and stuff. So that's the question is how did this one go. It's not too bad. I get out of the crowd when I feel that anxiety of a lot of crowds that I just got to make my way like outside, or I go off in the corner and kind of like sit down. But yeah, that is a real thing with the crowds. It could get kind of congested, and once I start feeling that, I either like go to go to the bathroom and kind of like splash my face or he drink some water. But yeah,
that is a real thing. But this one wasn't so bad. It wasn't so bad. Now that San Diego, now that's like a whole other beast. That one was. That one was tough, la not so bad. I bring this up because you brought it up on the San Diego one. Wasn't there that's the one where they didn't do the celebrity Yeah, because that was during like the strike, so none of the celebrities were out there. So this one, this one, they were all out there and they were
able to talk about everything. And I know for a lot of people it was their first time to be able to like talk about the shows that they were on during that strike, so that was kind of cool. But yeah, the San Diego one is a different beast. Speaking of which, actually this morning, just buy more tickets to more Con, tickets to Wonder Con. That's another one that's in Anaheim in March, so I'll be at that one. Like same vibe, same vibe, Yeah, just a different name
essentially. It's actually like the Little Sister to like the San Diego One, but they do it in Anaheim. So I'm sure I'll see your cousin out there. The highlight for me, speaking of my cousin, was you posted a story a real of just the different outfits, the different costumes cosplay that people were wearing. It's so these people are amazing. We've talked about this before in the past. How we even think some of these are better than
the theme park one. Yeah, because in the theme park sometimes you know, like the mask looks a little big, the head looks a little big. They got these preset voice things that they do, and these like cos players actually are able to build these voice changers and they could have full conversations in like a Kylo ren voice. It's not prescripted. Uh, but I mean I always say this about cons if you if you've ever been to one, or if you've ever thought about going to one, what makes conventions fun
is the people. The people coming out dressed out, the good energy that people bring. Uh, That's what makes these cons fun. So if you ever go to one, you just expect the people to be the best part of it. Moving on to another thing that you did and I got to do as well too, so we got to experience it at two different times. Was the Michael Jackson MJ Broadway musical? Yeah, oh man, so you actually got to go see it a week before me, I believe. Yeah, it was amazing. It was Yeah, go ahead, talk about
your experience. So, yeah, it was at the Pantagas Theater in La. Do you know how long the run is going to be? How long much more I'm going to be there? I don't know, but I believe they're going to the Bay next. Okay, makes you guys look this up because I didn't know what to expect and it just this whole Broadway play just shows the genius of his music. Yeah, yeah, some of my highlights.
You guys have to watch it for yourself. But the guy who plays MJ, the guy who plays Michael oh Man amazing, amazing, just even the way he looks, he really dives into the character, even the way he talks. And I just enjoyed it because obviously Michael is no longer with us, But it was the closest thing I would because I've never experienced him live in concert in my lifetime. It's the closest thing I'm gonna ever come
to. So yeah, it was a great experience. Yeah, I know this has been going on for a few years already, and they just started touring. And as soon as I found out that they were going to be on the West coast, like, I jumped on it immediately. I had like really good seats, wait before you go, and can we just say this just to paint the picture for the listeners. Yea jizzo. If you didn't know, if you know Gigso, then you know he is a huge MJ. Fan. Man, how many tattoos do you have? I always
forget, like ten or eleven, and they're all MJ. And they're all Michael Jackson, every one of his tattoos. So go ahead, So I was excited when I saw it. When I was watching it, all I could think about was, Jizzo is gonna love this so much? Now, I've seen different shows over the years, different uh what do they call it, like the the imitators, the yeah go shows? What is that called when you go see like an MJ imitator? Anyways, I've seen a lot
of those. I've even seen some in Vegas and uh, a lot of productions, and this is by far the best MJ like show that I've seen, ten out of ten. You know, I don't want to ruin it with yeah like that like the storyline to it, because there is a storyline and there's certain things that I want to say. This is my favorite part, but I don't want to ruin it. But I mean, just to kind of piggyback off of what you said, the main we'll just say the
main MJ. This dude was dope. His talking, the way he talked, his cadence, his mannerisms, the singing, the dancing, and like you said, it felt like a concert vibe. I mean, I had a pretty good crowd. People are like standing up cheering because he's performing. I mean some musical but he's performing the MJ songs. That's why I said the songs are a big highlight for me. Yeah, and then shouts out
to all the other actors and dancers are part of the set too. I mean the way they did this, I felt like the storyline that they used it could honestly be a good way to do like a movie. I like where they did it, so I don't again, I don't want to say how they did it, but they do go through MJ's a good part of his life. But the way they do it is pretty dope. So with Yeah, I don't think this is spoiling it, but I guess this is safe to say that you're gonna see the Jackson five. Yeah, you're gonna
see him. You're gonna see the different eras. There we go the eras MJ. Verson. So it's a much see if you guys can go catch it. Jesse and I are even thinking about might have to go to the and go see that again. Another thing that that happened for right on the New Year's Eve New Year was Kat Williams was in town and Fresno. You got to go to his show. Yeah, that was this was before the
Shannon shark. Literally, what was it a day or two? So the cat wims it was a good turnout, But honestly, it probably would have been a bigger turnout if he if his interview had dropped just before this. Uh, but he came out. Uh, he had some openers a little Mo round if you remember Little Mo, the singer from back in the day. She she had a set that was really random, but it was good
to see her. But yeah, I mean, Kat came on. You know, he's not you know, the cat that we used to see in his prime, but he still has some good jokes and he does have a lot to say, and he he is a different kind of dude where he feels like he needs to call people out on things and and talk about some of the things going around in the industry. So I'll give him credit. But yeah, I enjoyed the show. Okay, you went to the show.
That's what I wanted to ask you. Does he get into a little does he know you know how I'm not trying to say he's crazy, but people say crazy talk. Did he get to a little bit of some of that? During he did? He talks a little bit about like the Illuminati. However, it was more in a joking kind of way. He talks a little bit about some people in Hollywood. He talks a little bit about Jamie Fox, but you know, what he was talking about made a lot of sense and a lot of things that he said, and he said,
you know, this is the time. There's no other time in the world where you can literally do whatever you want as long as you have a phone, like you could do something. There's just no excuse. And you know, he talks about how people are famous on social media, like you can literally do what you want, and it was good. It was good man, Doc matter to let me ask you this now about the pot podcast that
made you know, national news and it's making them relevant again. What do you think in general about things he said, you know, and you don't have to go specific, but just in general about Kat Williams, because it's two sides right now are a lot of people are coming out saying like he's still lying and these are all false accusations. In half of the world is going there's something there and we believe you Cat. I think it's a little
bit of both. I think people have pulled up receipts on things that he's talked about, so you can't deny it. Now. Does he been the truth a little bit in some things? Does he maybe exaggerate the truth in some things? Probably, you know what I'm saying, Maybe for the sake of storytelling or comedians. I know, that's kind of like what they do, right, They take something and they've been the truth just to make it funnier. So there's probably some of that in there. But for the most
parts, I don't think he's lying in a lot. Did he ask to say so? I feel the same exact way. But the one that threw me off was when he says that he's like a great golfer, that he's like amazing at golf. I've not seen one video footage of him golfing ever, so that kind of threw me off. But I feel the same some like you said, there's receipts, there's proof, and then there's just some
that is kind of off the wall for me. But you know, the people that he talked about, you know, people are saying, oh, if they're what are they saying that, if they're saying something about it, that they're guilty, Like no, they kind of have to, you know, if they're gonna try to defame a person, They're gonna try to defend
themselves. So I don't feel that if they say something like, for example, oh like when they're trying to rebut what he had to say, because they are slowly coming now ludicrous came with that freestyle, or Kevin Hard is saying something and the comments I see are, oh, why are you saying something? Do you feel good? Like no, no, everyone has to. I had to defend themselves. So like if something was said about me and I knew that it wasn't true or something, I would definitely defend myself
with my character. But I don't know. You know, it's funny because he talked a lot about Cedric and Cedric's gonna be out here in March. I wonder if Cedric's gonna have something to say so to your point of you know, Kat Williams was in Fresno a day before the podcast from Shannon Shark Shannon Sharp came out. Yeah, I wonder how the ticket sales now are gonna go for the comedy jam that's coming to March, which if you're a
B ninety five listeners, we got tickets quick plug. Yeah, but yeah, I mean I feel like I need to be there for it to go. Yeah, I would. I want to know what Kat's saying now on his tour. You know what I'm saying, Like, is he talking? He's got to be adding things to it. I know you've been in the comedy worlds touring with Joe Croy. I mean, this joke, stealing these beefs between comics seems to be a real thing. And it's over the years.
I always see this, these beefs and it's always between you stole my joke. I said this first, What is what is your thoughts and opinion on that? My simple thought is it's what's the saying where it's a thin line. Yeah, it can go either way. If things are said verbatim and there's proof of it, then yeah, that's that's low key kind of
sketch. That more than likely you stole it. Yeah. But and for the most part, there's a lot of similar jokes out there, right, for the most part, people you could It's fair to say sometimes people think the same way. Yeah, people have the same thoughts. So let's say you came up with a joke, but it's such a common subject, and then I'm a comedian and I, and it's such a common subject. I
have the same thought, but I didn't hear your joke. Yeah, I'll probably make a joke about it too, And then there is that that risk of someone hearing it and saying, hey, I did that first, which it could have been true, but I didn't steal it because I was thinking the same thing. You know. I don't want to go super into detail, but i've physical, not physically, I've that's the word. I was
looking for experience this firsthand. Where like you said, I was touring with Joe and Joe did this joke and it was a joke that I heard months and months before from another comedian, So I like went up to him. I was like, Hey, that joke you're doing, actually someone did it already. And at first he was like, no, I thought of that joke and I believe them. I'm and I wasn't trying to say it as a he stole it. He stole it. I'm just saying, yo,
I'm slaying you know. I heard this before and I had to YouTube it and show it to him and he was like, oh, but that's why I'm like, but it But it makes sense because it's such a common everyone thinks the same idea. Yeah, because I mean what makes jokes funny is things that are true, things that we all noticed, right, stereotypes right,
So there's only so much of that that goes around it. You're bound across some similarities, especially like with lyrics, you know, the song lyrics, song titles, movies like, there's always gonna be similarities and things. So I get it again, I see both sides of both sides. Yeah, you brought up Joe Koy. Yeah, do you want to speak on that situation of the Golden Globes again? This is called the catch up and we're just catching up and that was big news that happened this past week.
Comedian Joe Coy was the host of the Golden Globes this year. Yeah, and this is something If you guys are podcast listeners to this podcast, then some of you will know that I used to be the touring DJ for Joe Coy years and years ago, and we toured four years. He was one of my really good friends. So the reason why I'm speaking on this is I do have to back them up because he was getting a lot of hate.
Okay, you guys, man, you know that saying like if you have nothing nice to say, just I wish it was more of that. But I'm also a firm believer of there's no such thing as bad publicity, and all this negative press he's getting, it's only gonna make him bigger and people are gonna want to see him. And he's coming to town too, in Fresno, so I wonder his ticket sales is gonna do. We're getting all these good comedians right now, for sure, so I feel like he's
gonna sell out in Fresno because of it. I mean, he already sells out arenas everywhere. So the thing I have to say about that is, once again, I know Joe personally, and this is not because he's one of my friends top five comedians. He's one of my top five. I've seen this guy work now. He's really good. He's really good. He's one of my favorites too. That's why he's selling out arenas everywhere for years. I've seen this with my own eyes. He is great at his job,
one of the nicest people. Always say the same things when he meets people. He's one of the nicest people. And the reason why I bring that up is to me, that's why it didn't work, because when he went into the Golden Globes as a host, he went into it as like, oh, I think you're well, I'm not. This is just my opinion. I don't know if this is his mindset, but it was almost like, oh, we roast on the Golden Globes. If you're a host, that's what we do, is we roast. But that's not his style.
Yeah, he's not. He's not. People kind of saw it as him being mean. It's not his style. I get what he was doing because you know all these hosts over the years, they point out an actor in the crowd or something like that and they have something to say about it.
But to your point, it's not his style. And also, and this is not like a diss to him, but these were like a list celebrities, and I just I'm not sure too many people were familiar with him, so it's almost like, who's this guy that I don't really know that's making fun of me. That was gonna be my next thing I'm saying. Picking backing on that is, come on, let's be honest. These a list superstar Hollywood elites. They live in a bubble a lot of them probably
probably have heard the name, but they don't know Joe Coy. So to your point, if it was one of their friends like Jimmy Kimmel or who else, what's the two the duo that was from Saturday Night Live, they're always a why am I forgetting the name? Right now? Yeah? People are like probably, yeah, I talk about I'm gonna have to google in a second. But my point is when they roast, it's it's because they
know them. These celebrities know who they are. Oh, Amy Poehler is one of them, and I forget the other lady's name, but yeah, they're They've been to dinners, they've been to parties together. So these A list elite celebrities are like, these are my friends making fun of me. But when it's a stranger, then yes, someone you're not familiar with, Like, yo, you don't really know me like that to be joking with
me like that just the vibe I was getting. So what's that saying where everything was like against him, like yeah, it was almost like it was also a last minute what he had like ten days to prep for it. That was another weird thing too. When Joe announced it on social media. I was like, my first thought was okay, cool, and then I saw the date. I was like, wait, that's like a week and
a half from this announcement. To me, that was weird. So later on, obviously the news and we find out that they were trying to look for a host, but a lot of people were turning it down. So he took it. I mean, he shouts out to him for going to different news outlets the next day, and he admitted, he admitted that, you know, it wasn't his style that he did bomb a few jokes. But it's tough because if you're in that situation and you always want to challenge
yourself. I'm never gonna be mad at people that want to challenge themselves or do something that they've never done before. Uh, you know, maybe getting out of their comfort zone, getting out of their lane even a little bit. So you know, I'm never gonna be mad at somebody for trying that. So I'll give him that, you know what I'm saying. Maybe he did feel a little like, you know this last minute, but hey, this is an opportunity I don't want to pass up, and it was just
it didn't work out. It was tough tough crowd. I'll end it with this because, like I said, you know, there's no bad publicity that he's gonna He might even get way bigger than now because now celebrities do know him. The one, the one crunch part where as a friend, I'm going like no, no, don't do that, is when one of the jokes didn't work and then he blamed the riders and he told the crowd to
shut up, like like that's again, that's not you. Yeah, and blaming the riders during like this past riders strike was kind of a bad timing. That would be my only sick and only red flag of like I wish you didn't do that where you know, you didn't have to point out that you were bombing. Yeah, yeah, and then to say shut up to the crowd. Yeah I didn't write that one. Yeah, I mean,
but but back to your point on on some positive news. Yeah, one of my favorite stand up comedians five he's coming out here, I believe in March again. Definitely gonna go see that. I know it's gonna be funny. You know, I've got to meet him over the years and stuff like that, so yeah, you know, it's just it was tough one man, it was tough real quick, Tina fe Oh yeah, yeah, there you go. Just on on another note. Other notes, real quick is
Dave Chappelle. He put out his recent stand up, The Dreamer. I mean it's called uh man, you know Dave Chapelle. He's my all time famous remember one, and he doesn't miss. You know, I'm not gonna sit here and say, oh, this is like top five of his stand ups, but I'll just say that he doesn't miss and it's it's another good one. It's on Netflix. You got to check it out. The thing
I'll say about that is he's smart. The way he tells stories, the way he presents it, super smart about his jokes, Yeah, very educated, intelligent jokes and yeah, and even the way he thinks about life and about certain subjects. I think that's why he's so good and people love it. I think it's because majority of the world kind of think that way too, maybe just afraid to say it. Yes. Even his take on the Will Smith and Chris Rock situation was really good because everyone had their jokes about
it. He hadn't had his jokes about it yet until this special, and he was actually kind of in the midst of it because he got intact on stage and Chris Rock happened to be there that day, so he kind of ties in all that stuff to talk about that situation. And I think the way he laid it out was like again, was a different way that I've
heard it before, and I thought that was like really good too. Well, this is how smart it is, because when the Chris Rock Will Smith thing happened, I mean, I think you even know this because I told you, like I was like, nah, fuck, Will Smith. I'm not feeling that dude anymore. That was low key, you know whatever. And then now I hear how Dave Chappelle thinks about it, and like you said, the smart way of kind of seeing both sides. Dang. When he said that, I was like, dang, I could kind of see
it that way. Yeah yeah, yeah yeah. So yeah, one more thing on my list. I don't know if you have more on your list. Another thing that's happened just this past week, and I wanted to ask you about it because I don't understand it. Is this whole craze about these Stanley Cups oh yeah, are lining up And even Fresno Local News did a story because people were lining up three in the morning. They were selling out, and aren't these just like thermocists, Like, well, first of all,
I always thought of a Stanley cup. I think of the hockey treet So when they were saying Stanley cups, I was like, Oh, they're selling like little mini hockey trophies or something like. I don't know. And then I guess it's just a cup, right, Or that's why I don't understand what. I don't know the hype either, Okay, yeah, we're gonna have to ask somebody. I still don't know. I haven't looked it
up. I'm not a coffee drinker. It don't go to Starbucks. So well, I just saw that it keeps your beverages cold or hot, and I thought there were already things that did that. But so I don't know what. I don't know what the special thing about is with this cup.
So let us know in the comments. Why the craziest not The thing that I wanted to bring it up is because it's the power of social media and the whole If someone starts something, then there's fomo, you know, fear of missing out and and I mean we've talked about this before how we're not gonna line up for Black Friday. But that's kind of like how it felt like or people just didn't want to miss out on this thing. People were
going crazy in the stores and just like it was a Black Friday. So to wrap this part up, is I want to ask you, is there anything you would line up for? Is there anything like a product someone can sell that you would line up for? Because I can't think of it. There's nothing. There's nothing. I've actually never even done it. Honestly, I've never waited in line for an iPhone. I've never waited out lie outline for for sneakers. I've always had different ways of getting things or I could
just wait. Yeah. The only thing that I'm waiting in line for is like a ride maybe, and even then anything over like forty five minutes, I never do it. You know what I'm saying. Oh, this wasn't on my list, but it just reminded me because this was on the news yesterday. I think Disneyland. Uh, they're bringing back the magic Keyhole medic and there's footage of the line. I didn't see that. Yeah, so what was man? Because my Disneyland thing, I've kind of slowed down on
on the whole Disneyland thing. I don't know if you could answer this, what wasn't there a limit to how many people can buy that until they sold out? Or am I mistaken? I don't know, honestly, I don't know that because it kind of seems like there might have been whoever wants it can buy. That's kind of like, is that is that why there's a long line. Maybe there was a line because there was a limit, So it's like, yeah, we need to get these before they're sold out.
I think they still do have, like there are four versions of it or something like that, right, Yeah, I'm not exactly sure. It's something that I've looked into, but it's just not if you don't live out there, it's just not worth it. But I've always wanted to because I feel like I still go up and I could probably get my money's worth, but probably not. You have to do the math. Yeah, I'm gonna go four times a year, like I already know I'm going in May, so
that's like one. Yeah, but I don't know, I don't know. I mean, but side note too, I mean us working in this industry sometimes there's perks. Yeah, yeah, there's always that to all the time. But so do you have anything else? Because now on the catch, I think we caught up. Yeah yeah, I mean I guess we get wrap things up with you know, this was the first episode of twenty twenty
four. What are things? What are we looking forward to here? Because I know we had I think there's an episode where we talk about our twenty twenty three goals and we've met, if not all of them, most of them. What are we trying to meet this year? What do we want to put out there in the world. What's something that you plan on doing to better yourself or I mean, one big thing is new experiences. Something that I've seen myself doing in the past years is just doing the same thing,
which is not a bad thing. Like an example of that would be every time I go on vacation, Hawaii is my go to I go to Hawaii every year. So this year I want to try new experiences, like a new location, a place I've never been to me, have you had anything in mind? I'm so I'm not. In my head, I'm not a fan of it, but again, I can't be close minded. I have to experience it for myself. But the whole Italy, London, the
European tour. I've not in my life have I thought about wanting to do that, but that might be a move that that's on my list in the Japan. Okay, so well, so Japan for me is actually gonna be next year twenty twenty five, because there's a reason for that. Star Wars celebration is going to of course, another convention is going to Japan. I'm making it official. Man, Yes, so I've been. I've already been doing my research. I already been doing my homework. I want to hit
up Tokyo Disney while I'm out there. Yes, so definitely those two things. So that's gonna be big for me in twenty twenty five. So not this year, not so much, but next year. Let me ask you this, now that you know that you're making an official financially wise, do you start is there a fun that you're gonna put like one hundred bucks every month or like? Or no? You do not live that way. I
don't really live that way. Something I might like. I guess the certain thing that I'll do do is maybe either hustle a little harder to get some extra cash, or I'll relax on some of the things that I might normally want to splurs spend on, but like a savings account or a pot where I put money and not not so much, not so much, I never do do that. Maybe I'll take a few less trips this year because last year that was kind of my thing of experiences, and I did a lot
of things this year, Uh, maybe not so much. Like you know, last year, we had already went to uh we were already going to the beach Airbnb. Remember we did that in January last year, and then right after that I went to like university. I was doing something like every month. It was like so much. And uh, this year so far, I've like nothing lined up until you know, March what we was talking about with this wonder con. But yeah, maybe that might be it.
Maybe just not do so much this year for the big one for next year, all right. I mean another thing I want to do in that whole new experiences realm is do things well, new things and trying out things that I've done before. And yes, you know, you know that I lost a lot of weight last year and I'm continuing that journey as well too. But an example of what I'm talking about is I want to try I can't believe I'm saying this, but I want to try to snowboarder ski again.
Why didn't you break your leg or something I fractured or Rick? I think we talked about it on podcasts. It traumatized me, But I don't know. Is it going to feel different now that I'm lighter, Like maybe I'm a little stronger because I you know, going to the gym every day, Like, so I want to experience that. Maybe I will enjoy it or maybe I won't, but I want to experience that also, you know those
like rock climbing gyms. Yeah, I want to try, Like I want to see if I could do that, Like things that maybe I can do now that I couldn't do because of my weight. So yeah, like just new experiences. I like that one thing that's been kind of like floating in my mind of like something you know, to do. It kind of piggybacks off of last year. But maybe and it doesn't necessarily have to be like you know, vacation type stuff, but maybe things that I was uncomfortable doing
before. Oh yeah, doing it, you know what I mean, get do some of those uncomfortable things you never know. I like, that's kind of been floating in my head. Is like, okay, maybe that's my thing this year. Do you have an example of that? Because I have something. I recently did it, and when I tell you what it is, you'll understand why it was uncomfortable. Uh no, but go ahead. Okay. We've talked about this before in the past podcast about how we feel
about our finances that were savers. Yeah, and I we save money, we put it aside, et cetera. Something that I'm pretty sure you know this about me because I've talked about before, is I have an investment account money and you know and n roth Ira and I've been you know, with the investments I have my money in. It's like made me some decent money, and it's for retirement. You know, it's for one I'm retired. But a lot of my friends always talk about how, oh I needed X
amount of money, so I just go into my my investment funds. I'm like, oh you do that. They're like, well, yeah, it's your money, and then they then you research that. Oh, but it is you have to take it like like income, so taxes get taken out, Like for example, if you don't. If you take the amount you want, you're gonna get taxed, or there's an option where you could say, I'm gonna take this amount, but go ahead and take this percentage of
taxes so I don't have to worry about it. So there's like a lots of basically to take to withdraw your money. There's like a lot that goes with it. And as you know, you and I are, we kind of get nervous about money, taking our own money. But I was looking at my investment funds and I was like, I'm gonna do it. I'm gonna take out some money for the holidays, and I pulled the trigger. It was, oh god, did it hurt? It did, but also
it like felt good too because this is my money. So yeah, it it's funny that you said didn't hurt, because you and I know each other of the anxiety we go through with money. So I think I think you said it before, and I think this is what it is. It's the fear of being broke like that just always scares me, even though like I know I'll never let that happen to myself. It's just you just never know. I don't know. It's just scary. So I bring this up because
of what you said. And that's another thing for twenty twenty four is less fear less fear on doing uncomfortable things, and that's that's a good way to look at it. Yeah, that was uncomfortable for me, but I pulled the trigger. That's all I had on my mind. I'll add this because this is something that I have not told you. It's something that's happened real soon, and you're probably gonna be like, what here we get on this one. So this is something that I've always wanted to do. You already
know how I feel about this topic. And on Monday is going down. I scheduled my appointment. I'm getting a vasectomy. I thought you were gonna talk about getting glasses. Hell, no, way bigger than that, because because you know how we're talking about your eye or whatever. Well that's that's I do need some glasses at some point. But I think that's where it was going. Yeah, man, it's going down. It's official. Yeah, I mean people already know how we know. We have a whole podcast
where I'm talking about not never wanting kids. Uh So this is something that I've been thinking about for a while. And I thought, you know, what's the new year, let me go, let me go, uh have this consultation. I had that last week and then I made my appointment for this coming Monday, and uh it's going down. Man, I'm getting snipped. You know me, I'm all about happiness and you and I, actually you and I. That's something that we always talk about, is just living
happy. Yeah. Yeah, so like the first thing that comes to my head is congratulations. That's the first thing that comes to my head. Yeah. Yeah, you know. It was cool talking and talking to the doctor, real cool, dude. Man. I was like I felt real comfortable. Not that I ever felt like I was going to back out because it's something I've always wanted to do, but I was like already getting annoyed thinking that they were going to try to convince me not to especially that like I
don't have any kids. I'm like an only child, and I just thought, like, you know, you know, I'm probably gonna get doctor where he's going to be like are you sure? Are you sure You're sure? And I'm gonna be like yes, yes, yes. But he was so dope. He was just like yeah, we're for this. He was just like yeah, anybody that wants to do this. I'm like, yeah, he was all a matter of fact, I just had a twenty year old come up in here and I did it to him, and I was like,
oh shit, my kind of doctor. I was like, that's dope. Man. You know, we got some progressive people out there, not old school minded. And so with that being said, if I walk in here, you know on Tuesday, walking up little limp, you're gonna know why. Oh yeah, we're off on m O K two. Yeah I'm good. Oh man, Well, what a way to end the podcast episode Today talk about New Year, New me, right,
