Our twenty twenty four wrap up episode. But before we get into the episode, do you have any New Year's Eve or you know New Year's Day traditions? Yeah, anything that you do before the new year.
No, I don't actually like for.
Example, I'll give you an example. I don't know where this came from. I think it was for my parents, but it was just something that I think they said they did. So I just started doing it where I get cash on the thirty first, so have cash in your wallet, so I go to the ATM. I make sure like my whole place is clean, like so I do a deep clean before the thirty first, clean your car, almost like a whole reset. Yeah. So that's something that
I don't know where it started from. I don't know if it's tradition, but it's just something I've just always done. Where cash in your wallet.
Wow, while the cash in the wallet, I think.
It's just like for good luck, you know, starting the new year with money in your wallets, so you know, good luck in your finance. And then a clean apartment, you know, a whole year of being clean, and just you know, clean car. So that's something haircut Oh yeah, well I just got mine so I won't be on the thirty first, but yeah, that's something like I did.
We used to have like New Year's Eve parties where this was I think this is not only a Filipino thing, but they would throw coins in the air and then all the kids would grab the coins. So that's similar to having like money, so good luck for the New Year. You never did anything like that.
Nah, didn't have no type of tradition.
Is there anything that you like doing on the thirty first before the New Year or is it just.
A regular regular day for me? I mean obviously we would do the club thing a lot. I mean, so that was that was like big. I haven't did like a club on New Year's even a few years now, So yeah, I never really had anything traditional. The only thing that my dad would he would always cook manu though on the first, okay, because you know, you go out in the thirty first, probably hungover, So that was
something there was, I guess a little traditional. My dad doesn't live here anymore, so I don't see him, but I would go over to his house and he would he had made manulo, So I guess I guess I did have a little something. But yeah, I never actually never even heard of those before. But that's interesting. Do you do New Year's resolutions? Do you are you going to make any or.
I mean so, I believe we've talked about this before in the past. It was a thing that we all did. But as for the past couple of years, I think you and I always had this mentality is.
Like when I want to change them and do it.
This is when we're always when we want to do something, we're going to do it, regardless what the date is. So I stopped doing resolutions just because goals goals. You know, when I did the weight loss thing, lost seventy five pounds and I kind of just been hovering, gained a few pounds, lost a little bit, just hovering in that area. I never got to reach that hundred. So twenty twenty five, I think that's the goal, is to finally reach that one hundred total of weight loss, all right, which I'm
like almost there. How about you?
Any goals did I set this past year? Man?
I think it was just more going out and doing things that I hadn't done before. So I did a lot of trips again this year, but it was really the big one is going to be in twenty twenty five when I go out to Japan. So this year was definitely like a lot of planning for that. I think I did maybe the year before it was when I set that goal of wanting to go out and do a lot and I did, and this year I just I think I wanted just to kind of continue that,
so I did. And then I moved this year and I'm in a new spot that I really really like and enjoy. So that was kind of like a goal I wanted to I guess be fresh in that sense, new environments.
So yeah, that was my year.
Yeah, I think twenty twenty four was definitely we we set what we were we wanted to do and we did it because yeah, a lot of new experiences for me too. So I think in twenty twenty five, if I had to put like a specific goal is to you know, because we do a lot of traveling. I want to travel to someplace newt you So, because I'm even kicking off January first traveling, so I'm gonna be
why again done real quick. Speaking of New Year's Eve, New Year's Eve is gonna be wild for me because I'm djaying and Fresno at sunset So if you're listening to this before New Year's Eve, come hang with me for New Year's Eve at sunset and Fresno right when the club is done. So I'm done, probably around one forty five, two o'clock. I'm gonna be already all packed, and I'm right after the club driving straight to LA to catch my flight.
Man.
So I'm hoping it's not foggy. I'm hoping I'm not too tired, but New York on the plane for sure, I'm knocking out on the plane. And lastly, the clubs. Do you have any memories of like club the we did New Year's Eves at the club?
Yeah, I mean Imperial was always fun. It was always packed. Uh yeah, rest in peace. Imperio now is what club won?
Now?
Oh yeah, it's a casino.
Yes's casino now.
So yeah, I did have a lot of good time with the New Year's I remember we did like a little New Year's thing in the building because I was on air that that night, so we just like kind of had people come in. We were just like hanging out. That was like a few years back. But yeah, in New Year's yeah, but you.
It's not really I don't know if this is a positive thing. But the only thing I remember in Fresno doing nightclubs all the time is the club would be packed at right when it opens nine pm packed, and then right after the countdown clear, everyone would just leave.
Yeah.
I don't know what that was about.
Yeah, I don't know if that's like a Fresnel thing, but yeah, I remember that. That sticks in my head. I've got to experience different New Year's Eve. I've got to.
You know.
At one time I owned a restaur and we did a New Year's Eve there with the staff. Last New Year's Eve was super chill, like, didn't really do anything. That was Actually that was one of my favorites, just because doing the clubs all those years. It was just good to just not do anything. Lately, you know what, I've been seeing my family do nothing. They don't even I've been seeing that a lot lately. No one stays
up till midnight. It's not a thing anymore. Yeah, so over it maybe or yeah maybe the age thing, Like we've done our partying again. It's the industry we're in so.
So we're always going to be part of it.
Yes, I have to DJ again this year, but yeah, man, let's do it. I'm ready for twenty twenty five.
This could give me for our podcast. What up? I'm Jizzo. That is John Magic and we are back.
I mean, we just want to do a wrap up of twenty twenty four.
Yeah, some of the pop culture moments in twenty twenty.
Four necessarily in any order, right Nah?
No, I mean we could start off with this one because we were just talking about New Year's Eve last New Year's Eve. I went to the Kat Williams show. He was in Fresco last Year's so I guess I did do that. I know we were talking about New Year's even moment ago, but just a few days later, Kat Williams was on the Shannon Sharp podcast Shay Shay, and that's when he just aired out everything. So I guess
we can start there. That was probably the first viral moment of the year, and it was really at the top of the year when Kat Williams went on that podcast and just started airing out everybody's dirty laundry.
Why does that seem like it was just a no like a few months ago for me, Like, didn't that just happen?
Maybe because the stuff he was saying it actually started to come out and turn the year, which is crazy.
True, Like I mean, did he brought up the Diddy stuff?
Yeah, we'll get to that a little bit later. Yeah, that was crazy. Yeah, and he just started airing out everybody's dirty laundry. But the thing about and I think we talked about this in the in the podcast at the time, is everybody believed everything he said. Yeah, and then when people would come out to kind of defend themselves, like nobody believed that side of it, And we kind of talked about how that was weird, like why do you believe one side and why not somebody else's side?
But I think it's the thing where people want to believe what is like more maybe entertaining more, like they want to believe the things that they want to believe, like what they want to believe, like, oh, that's true, but what you were saying, like I don't want to believe that, so that's not true.
Yeah. I mean Jamie Fox Special just came out a few weeks ago, and he even he brings that up, like people thinking that he's a clone and all the things that Kat Williams said, and I mean he just made it. He explained to his side of it made it entertaining, and I mean, like you said, for us, it was more on the entertainment side of it, it is what it is. But you're right, people took it. The people were like.
See yeah, yeah, yeah, I knew it was true.
Yeah, just kind of piggyback off the club Shah thing and Shannon Sharp. I remember he went on the Instagram live when he was having sex.
That was That was a twenty twenty four moment.
Oh man.
Yeah, he was on Instagram live probably or one of the lives on social You can't.
See anything, but you can hear it, and you can clearly hear him having sex, and he admitted to it.
That was the thing. I remember. We shouted out his honesty about it because usually the PR department will, you know, how do we fit, how do we hide this, how can we explain it a different way?
Got hacked?
Nah?
He just he went ahead and said, nah, that was it. And he's been getting he's been getting roasted by a lot of celebrities in a fun way.
Yeah.
So yeah, that was a big twenty twenty four viral moment.
I know, I guess we're kind of going in order here if we want to bring in sports real quick, because after that was February the Super Bowl.
Oh man, I don't think I want to we don't want to talk about that one, right, Yeah, because my Niners were there, Chiefs Niners. I thought it was a good super Bowl. It was in Vegas, the game was good. Usher had performed.
That was a good halftime show.
Yeah, great halftime show. And then you know, Taylor Swift was very popular that year and she was at the game, so that was that was definitely a big moment with that game.
I mean we could go right there with Taylor Swift had.
A year man her Aeros tour, her Airs tour.
Broke numbers with like I mean, I'm making this number of billions.
Of I mean I think she hit like a billion.
Yeah, the money she made. Yeah, just that Aeros tour was the biggest thing. We gave away tickets yeah here at the radio stations. So congrats, So all the winners that got to go. And yeah, Taylor Swift had her year and still with Travis.
Yeah, I know. They actually put one of the concerts on Disney Plus. I don't know if you watched it. I watched it because I just I'm not like a fan of Taylor Swift, but I do appreciate what she is in pop culture and just everything she does.
Her fan base is crazy.
So I watched it just to see the production of her show, and man, it's crazy, Like the show that she puts on. Is no wonder why people go crazy for her because that was that was insane. Listen, we'll dive into sports since we're kind of on that topic a little bit. Lebron and Bronnie on the same team father son.
Made history as the first father and son to be playing at the same time.
I thought that was really cool to see that happen.
Yes, I think the moment is amazing. You know, people were kind of hating saying he only got this because le Bron You know what I say, Yeah, that is how he got it. And if you were a dad and you had a son that had that opportunity, you take it too. Because I mean, Ronnie, he's not NBA ready yet.
I don't know if he ever will be.
Also, I mean all so when I say NBA ready, I guess maybe like a star player, he could be a role player somewhere because he's shown bits of he's played in games where he showed bits of there's something there, but you know, people saying like, oh, he's only there because of Lebron. Yes, yeah, yeah, that's what it is, So just let it go.
I think I think so too, And honestly, I didn't have a problem with it because I think I thought it was really cool to see and it just shows Lebron's longevity.
That was what was more impressive than anything.
The fact that he stayed in the league that long, that relevant, that he basically waited for his son to get to the league, and I think it was a it was a calendar. Colin Cowhard made a good point. We see this in business all the time, where you know, the dad at the top of the business hands it down to his son that probably didn't deserve it. There was probably somebody else in the company that deserved it, but hey, it was his son.
He gets it, you know.
To me, it was just another situation like that, like, yes, he probably shouldn't have been drafted out high or at all.
But it was cool to see. Yep, and I got to see father son.
I agree.
We also have the Olympics this year.
Some Olympics, Yeah, I mean forty gold medals they we tied with China one hundred and twenty six for the most in the country. Any viral, I mean, there was a lot of viral moments during the Olympics that were any of this sticked out to you.
I mean the only once you say that, I don't know why Snoop came into.
My head was literally gonna say snoop with the torch.
Yeah. Obviously I'm a big basketball fan, so just Team USA watching those games.
It's always fun to see the greatest players in the world play on the same team. I mean, when are we ever going to see Lebron and Curry and you know, all on the same team, which is a lot of fun to watch.
But the Gymnasty girls, the girls did their thing this year. That was dope. I think the most viral moment was that break dancing girl.
That's right, yeah, yeah, ray Gun Yeah from Australia.
Yeah, she did the little raptor dance and that was all.
That was the viral moment of the Olympics. And then I don't I don't know if she's the cause of this, but they're not bringing back that that particular thing in four years. It's not in an Olympic sport anymore.
So what happened was I don't know why it worked out this way, but it was it was gonna be on this Olympics. It's skipping Olympics for some reason, and then it's gonna come back again, so in eight years. I don't know, I don't know why. But yeah, did you watch it at all? By any nine chants?
The break?
Yeah, I mean just the highlights. Yeah, yeah, but no, not not religiously or anything.
Yeah, it was. It was interesting. I don't know, that's it.
I thought it was cool because it's something that you know, it's kind of part of our hip hop culture. So it was cool to see as a sport, I guess, and Olympics, but it was also weird, Like I don't know how they judged it.
I don't I don't know.
Well, I mean there's I think because there's competitions that happened already, same form Yeah, I think they took like the judges from from there and just kept that same formula because there's it already exists as a as a thing.
That's true.
Another big sporting event that happened, or some people might not call it, but the Jake Paul Mike Tyson, would you think.
Yeah, I mean there was hype on it, and then when it happened, what did people expect. I knew this was just gonna be an exhibition match.
That's what I took it as entertainment.
The only thing that.
Wasn't entertaining, though.
The thing that became viral was when you tried to watch it live on Netflix. It just kept buffering and I thought it was only me, but no, I guess it was the whole world, like, yo, what's going on? Like we can't even watch this, uh with good quality or yeah, So I ended up just waiting for the highlights, and that's how I watched it. I mean, yeah, it is what it is. There was nothing there, no.
I mean, it was a lot of hype, and yeah, it wasn't really even entertaining, honestly, but it was. It was a good build up to it, you know, to see if it was gonna be fun or not.
How about the conspiracy theory of Mike Tyson was told not to go all out because there are videos of moments where he could have where it was open for him to take that swing, but he never does.
You never know, like what the behind the scenes conversations are like, hey, let's kind of spar you know, let's let's drag this out. Let's not really try to knock each other out. I could see that happening because at the end of the day, it was a big payday for them and they definitely won.
I mean when that for me, they showed Mike practicing and sparring in practice and just.
It looks like he was going to do some damage.
Yeah, but for it for him not to bring it to the actual fight there there could be something there.
All right, let's talk about this was also fun this year the beef, the rap beef of Drake and Kendrick that was used.
For us in radio.
Yeah.
Man, and then also some hits came out of it.
Yeah, I mean, and honestly, it's probably what God Kendrick to perform at the super Bowl.
This was like Kendrick's year.
He probably had the song of the year with Not Like Us that was playing everywhere. It's still playing, and then you know, he dropped the album He's He's gonna
do the super Bowl. But I just remember I was actually on vacation during that time, and so I was trying to follow it as much as you can, but you know when you're sort of unplugged, you're kind of away from your phone like that, and I would just every time I would pop up, was like another song drop and I was like what the hell and like oh and in a response and then another response and it was just going back and forth and it was it was really fun because you know, sometimes these things
could get dangerous we've seen in the past, but it really just felt like sport.
Yeah, this one stayed musically. Yeah there, you know, I agree.
There was no violence, There was nothing that popped off, and literally like two of you know, the top five rappers in the game going at it. And it was a lot of fun, especially be on the West Coast and have Kendrick do that, and you know the Dodgers. That was kind of like their song throughout the playoffs. Ye, the Dodgers they won the World Series. So I just thought that moment, and that was back in May. I thought that was like pretty good because we haven't had
like a good beef. The last one we had was like what Drake and Meek Mill was a few years back. Everyone actually goes after Drake a lot, but you.
Think Drake is doing the where he's just you know, he understands that it's Kendrick's years, so he's just he's been laying low lately.
He really has.
Yeah, there's been no type of other response or anything like that. But I mean, I think Drake, I think he's I think he's good where he's at in the sense of he's always making hit records, he's always coming out with big albums. A right, what else did I have here? We didn't really talk about this, but it was like a big moment. It will just bring it up,
I guess. But the presidential election, I think the thing this took out to me the most was that first debate with Trump and Biden and just how bad it was.
Yeah, I mean we both said it off pod. Yeah, Yo, this is just both are bad.
Yeah, it was.
It was just a really embarrassing moment in I mean, they're eating the cats and dogs and you know, Biden not even remembering what he was insane and him stumbling in his words, and then he finally decided to drop out of the race, and then Kamala came in. It was just it was a it was a mess. It's been a mess these past with eight years now, we're going on.
Yeah, I mean you and I have always said we're not we're not big on politics. If I mean, if I was gonna label myself as something, would be an independent I kind of just you know, want to see who has like the best policies and all this stuff. And also democracy is obviously working because you could tell majority of people wanted Trump. It's weird because it's not. I don't know, I could be wrong. This is just
from how I see it in my eyes. His first term, it was just a lot of negativity where they were saying, what's going on? Horror, He's a horrible person. Then we saw these negative, horrible things happen in the world.
Yeah, this this time around, it wasn't so bad, right, Is that kind you're saying?
Yeah, it is almost like it almost felt like what we were getting. Yes, it was it's majority rules, and I'm good with that. I'm good with what the majority wants. We even called it.
We we said, like.
Yeah, if we think out of the two, Trump is the one that I feel like people are gonna vote for. And yeah, I mean, like we always say, is our lives gonna change?
No, I mean I've seen presidents come and go Democrats Republicans throughout my whole life. Has it affected me personally?
Not really.
I've made my own path in life. Yeah, things change here and there and affect things. But personally, has it affected me or people close to me, whoever's in office?
Not really.
I feel like I'm a big believer if I control my own life and I follow whatever rules are in place at the time, who's ever making decisions at the time respected? But yeah, it doesn't. It doesn't bother me. That's why I don't even care to vote.
Do I wish? Do I hope he does make the grocery prices go down, which I don't think it's really on him. Do I hope the gas prizes go down? Of course, Hey if that happens, hey we're good, let's go. But it's kind of weird how we especially like the grocery prizes. It's does the president have controlled that? Because
I feel like the product. The people that make the products, they see the world buying it for this much, and they keep going, Oh, if the public is going to keep paying for it this much, then let's keep making money.
Then the economy flows, you know, supply and demand. How people are spending purchases. I don't really think presidents have much to do about that. Businesses, pricings where they want to. You know, we're capitalism in this country. So again, whoever's in office, I don't really care. It doesn't affect me personally. People want to be mad about it, they want to all the hate stuff like that bothers me that people have to take it that far.
But just live your life. I mean, just live your life.
Do you let me ask you this, the first term, there was all that negative energy, you know, with a bunch of negative things happening during his first term. Do you think that happens again this term or do you think we'll just go with the flow.
I think it won't be as bad.
I think it's kind of like what we were talking about is that the past eight years we seen Trump for four, we've seen bottom four, sort of knew what we were getting now at this point, and it was kind of just like, who's ever what I would like to see, just for just some freshness, is somebody different and we'll finally get that after Trump is done, I hope, hopefully.
On both sides.
Yeah, on both sides. Yeah, I don't want to see the same people running. I just want to see some fresh blood out there. Who else does this country have to offer that can lead us? But you know, again, we don't really go down that road, but we had to mention it because it was a big presidential year. Let's dive into some fun stuff. I thought this was kind of a disappointing year in movies, a little entertainment here. But where I really did have a good time was did Pull and Wolverine.
That was big to me.
That was like the movie of the year, a lot of great surprises. I enjoyed watching that movie. It felt like, you know, because I'm a big movie goer and it's sort of dying down and people don't really go But when we have these event type of movies, like the year before we had The Oppenheimer and the Barbie.
Another big movie that I didn't go to, but Wicked I went to.
I got to see that.
Yeah, okay, so did you like it?
Well, I'm familiar with the play. I've gotten to see the play.
And you actually went to the play too, right, Yep?
I went to the play, Like I said, when the play is old, maybe more than ten years old. Yeah, yeah, the Broadway play and they even came here to Fresno one year. I got to I got to interview the cast. So that was a cool experience to interview them. And so I was a fan and I'm familiar with the Broadway play. So getting the chance to see this movie that I've heard about for years that they were planning to do, yeah, it was cool to see.
And yeah it is I yeah, Okay, so I don't know.
I mean I know that gist of like because Wicked's essentially like a prequel to Wizard of Oz, right basically, Okay.
Is the movie? Is it the same as the play?
Yeah, it's exactly the same, with additions of some scenes, which I kind of like because it gives it a little context because the Broadway play is more to the point, like this quick, this one. It does add a little bit more, but it does give it some context, So I'm good with it.
So here's where I'm confused by is there's a part two to wickeds So does that mean they didn't do the whole.
Play of the Broadway play that they did half of the play.
Yes, So if you watch the Broadway play, yeah, it ends, there's an intermission. Okay, so there's always a first part and a second part in all Broadway plays.
Yea yeah, so.
It ends after the first part, so it follows it good. So instead of a ten minute intermission the movie, we're gonna get a year intermission, so we got to wait for the second part, which if you watch the play, you get to see it after the intermission.
This one we just have to wait a year, got you.
So those were two big ones. This one I just want to throw out there, just because how viral it was. But the Madam web.
Man, everyone was hating on that, and I waited for it until it came to Netflix. I gave it a few I was staring at it for a few days, like should I even watch it? And so one day I was bored. I was like, let me see how bad it really is, just because everyone was saying how bad it is, that acting, the storyline nothing made sense. So I watched it. It wasn't that bad, and it was so bad it was good. I'll say that it was so bad that it was good to watch. How bad it is. I enjoyed it. Maybe I enjoyed it
because I knew what I was getting into. Let's say, I was like excited about this movie, and I watched it with no context of hearing negative things. I would have been upset. I would have been upset watching this movie. But I went into it seeing how bad it was, and oh yeah it was bad.
Yeah, there was definitely some a lot of negative comments.
I didn't watch it. I refused TV. Let's dive into TV since we're in the entertainment world. Still, what was you have a show that you really liked to or maybe a documentary or what stood out to you this year? I know for me and you, we were new to this and it was actually one of the biggest things that people watched this year was Love Island.
Love Island is Yeah, but I've been watching the Australia ones. I actually have never seen any of the US ones. Yeah, and it's just because that's what's available to me and with what I'm streaming.
Yeah. Oh so you still haven't seen the US one? Oh oh man.
So that was the one that really like took off this year and went viral, which what made me dive into it and I enjoyed it. But I just recently watched this Australian one that me and you have been talking about off the mic and that one's way more entertaining than me, honestly.
Okay, so that, yeah, I don't feel like I'm missing out.
Yeah yeah.
In that same realm, we were watching Love Is Blind. Yeah, so those had some viral moments. Even though this last season.
Was kind of weak, Yeah, it's kind of it.
But there was an earlier season that was cool.
I know a show that I kept seeing popping up as like one of the big ones this year was that and you I think you had first told me about it was The Baby Reindeer.
Baby Reindeer. Yeah, I saw that one.
That was based off a true story that was a wild story about this this comedian. I think one of my favorite shows this year was The Penguin. I know you said you couldn't get into it. I really enjoyed it. I know that's on Max. I would have to say one of the most disappointing ones this year was House of the Dragon season two.
Oh yeah, yeah, I watched that. I watched that and.
Kind of ended and it was like, yeah, that was kind of weak.
So it was like this big setup with no payoff.
Yeah exactly. And then I mean we got to talk about Diddy. That might have been one of the bigger ones this year.
Yeah, the whole Diddy thing coming out and.
The sexual assault, the misconduct lawsuits. I mean, to this day, people are still coming out about him and just the baby oil jokes and the freak offs that we're hearing about because I know, you know, especially in this industry, we always we grew up hearing about how crazy Diddy parties were.
He talked about all the time.
It was just a known thing, and then just all this stuff came out about it, and it kind of started with cat whims at the top of the year and then lo and behold, Like we saw the Cassie video and that was that was horrible.
The Cassie videos. What did it for me? Just seeing that was shocking?
Yeah.
Yeah, and man, I mean, what do you think. I mean, he's in jail now.
And yeah, so the trials set from May. I mean, it's it's to me, there's just too much, you know, I mean, like there's just too much. Something's gonna happen. I don't know, you know, I'm sure he's gonna do some years. I don't know if he's gonna do life or anything like that.
I doubt it.
But the trial is in May. That's gonna be interesting watch. That'll probably be on the review list for next year. But yeah, man, I mean you're talking about somebody who just like fell from the top. Diddy, that was that was a big one this year.
I'm a big you know. My my personality is like, I mind my own business. So I'm sure there was some wow, sketchy shit that happened in those years of his life. I just I I don't, I'm not. I guess the thing I'm trying to get to, like, especially like the jay Z stuff, how everyone's going with the jay Z things. I don't know, Like I don't, I don't know, so I have no opinion about it. It's not you know, it's I'm not part of that life. So it's tough. It's tough, and I know these celebrities
are put into a microscope. Yeah man, so who knows. It's wild.
We'll see how it plays out, you know what I'm saying, with all the evidence, and see what happens to him. This is like a recent one, the Luigi dude, you know, killing the CEO of the United Healthcare That's been an
ongoing one. I mean, is it's crazy to see the two different sides on this, because on one side, this dude killed an innocent person, essentially, and on the other side, the way our healthcare system is in this country and people are so frustrated with it that he was getting some praise for doing it, and he was also getting the like, you know, girls liking him because the way he looks, and he's got this look to him and this charisma, I guess, and it's just it's crazy to
see that side of it, you know.
You know, I.
It's weird because it is why out seeing friends personal friends of mine praising him for killing someone. Yeah, like and by the way, it's still alleged, because he's saying not guilty.
Yeah exactly, so, I mean, but we won't say that he did.
But for the for people that I think that even the people that believe that he did do it.
They're like, yeah, but they're like, yeah.
That's cool, which I get. I get the whole the health what is it? The healthcare system is whack in this country. Yes, yeah, And this is not the answer. I don't think, you know what I mean. Yeah, it's just weird when they go, nah, I'm fine with him killing the dude, Like whoa Yeah. Yeah, so that's gonna be big in twenty twenty five, the trial, and for sure we'll see where that goes.
Speaking of you know, I just wanted to bring this up people dying. I know we lost some some names this year, Carl Weather's, James, Earl Jones, Quincy Jones, Liam Payne, you know, some of the big celebrities. I know you lost to your father this year. I know that was a big one. But I mean, I guess we can end things on like a lighter notes. Any highlights in your personal life that you liked from this year.
You know. The probably the biggest thing in twenty twenty four for me is starting therapy, which I've never done therapy before. Yeah, and you know, I started in the middle of the year and I've been going. I've been going pretty much every month. I've been, if not every month, once a week. There was a point where I was going once a week.
Yeah.
And the things I've learned about myself of why I am, why I am, how I am, it is while to understand that and acknowledge because I could see it me being a better, better person, being a better person in my future relationships, just being a better person for myself. So starting therapy was really big for me just because of learning about more about me that I didn't really think about. But it all makes sense and now I could navigate through that not necessarily saying like, oh therapy
changed me, Well, no, it basically what it does. It makes me acknowledge like, oh, I do these things because of this, So now i could navigate through it because I have this knowledge and I'm aware there it is. I'm aware. That was a big episode. By the way, when we had the therapist Nyatara Rodriguez look for her episode, that was a great episode.
That was a good one, and we had like she answered a lot of great questions on therapy and what it could do for you and you know why people maybe seek it or you know why we need to or should go to it. By the way, I didn't know that was your first time going to therapy, Yeah, because in my life, was it just because you weren't sure you were against it? Was there not really a reason or.
I think we've always talked about this before therapy, where we just kind of figure it out ourselves.
Yeah.
Yeah, But the thing is it's deeper issues. It's like when you were a kid growing up how you were raised is what I'm kind of like, Oh shit, that's why I'm like that.
Yeah, that is interesting. I did therapy for the first time a few years back. I do like the idea of it. I just don't think I had a good therapist. It might be something that I might be dabbling in, yeah, in the future.
I went through three therapists before I found one that I am that I work with. Well yeah, yeah, so yeah, I think that's what they always say, keep finding until you find the right person.
I think the way you put it is probably the best way to say it is. It's not like a cure, but it definitely helps you navigate through issues or problems that you may have.
So I do like that. Yeah, man, it was it was. It was a big year for myself. You know.
I got to move. I moved into a place that I really wanted to be at, so I was happy about that. I did the traveling that I wanted to do. This year, I got you know, I got a new title at work now, director of Quality Assurance. That was something that the company had We're looking for somebody in a position and they put me in. So that was like a good step up for me. But yeah, man, continue into twenty twenty five. We've been doing this podcast since twenty nineteen. Can't believe it?
Yeah, real quick, twenty twenty four. This November twenty twenty four was my twenty five years in radio. No shit, twenty five years so my so I started when I was ten.
I well, you're something crazy to piggyback off. That coming up in January will be my twentieth year.
There it is.
We're gonna end it on that note.
It is man continued success. We're not gonna stop with the podcast. No yeah, So man, what is this one hundred and fifty five?
I think something like that. Yeah, we started.
I can't believe we started in twenty twenty nineteen. Did we really start in twenty nineteen?
Man?
Man oh man, wow, and we're still going.
We're still going. We appreciate everyone that always tunes in. I get random. I was just at my hair getting a haircut from my stylist and she was bringing up our last episode about the Request No Request. Yeah, she said that she loved that episode. And we always have friends commenting and yeah, we appreciate it, man, And we don't get paid for this. We do this because we enjoy it. You know. We hope one day that the
audience does get bigger, but it's not. We just do it because I mean, we love doing it.
Yeah, I know.
This year we did kind of have a goal if we wanted to focus on more guests, so we actually yes, yeah, we had a lot of guests. We'll continue balance of both. I'm sure probably between guests and just doing podcasts works.
Just us too. But uh yeah, I mean appreciate it. We'll see you on the other side.
Yeah, Happy twenty twenty five.
