Episode description

When the Berlin Wall fell in 1989, the world had fifteen international border walls. Today it has seventy-four. Across every continent except Antarctica, borders are increasingly prominent, monitored, reinforced, and transgressed. In this podcast, Gary Slater shows how the world's borders can be organized into a short list of different forms, with three particular types of borders—religious borders, political borders, and ecological borders—interacting in a way that is uniquely analytically stimulating, morally compelling, and relevant to some of the most significant challenges of the twenty first century.

This and the next three episodes are a cooperation between TheoPodacst and the Catholic Academy in Berlin.
