Jude's Grandsons (AD 62-66)

In book three of the Ecclesiastical History of Eusebius, he tells the story of the two grandsons of Jude (the brother of Jesus) who were arrested and brought before the Roman court to investigate their aspirations to the Davidic throne in Jerusalem. There are some historical problems associated with this story, which we explore and try to resolve here. There is a PDF lesson outline available for this podcast. Dating the Four Gospels

It is pretty clear from reading Paul's epistles to the Thessalonians (written in AD 51) that Paul was familiar with the Gospel of Matthew. There are over a dozen strong similarities and allusions to the material found in Matthew 23-25, too much in fact to explain away as coincidence. We also look at some possible and likely dates for the other three gospels (Mark, Luke, and John). There is a PDF lesson outline available for this podcast. Paul in Caesarea - Acts 24-26 (AD 58-60)

We discuss the events mentioned in Acts 24-26, which occurred there in Judea right after Paul was arrested in Jerusalem at the feast of Pentecost in AD 58. We talk about the possibility that Luke and Acts may have been written by Luke while Paul was there in Caesarea for two years, or at least did all the research in preparation for writing them at that time. We also look at some of the theories about who Theophilus was. There is a PDF lesson outline available for this podcast. Send an email to ...

Who was Theophilus? Acts 23-24 (AD 58-63)

We look at the theory that Theophilus might have been one of the former High Priests of the Ananus family. There are a lot of historical reasons why this theory makes sense. However, on a later podcast we will suggest an even better possibility that Theophilus was a government official in Nero's court at Rome. There is a PDF lesson outline available for this podcast. Paul taken to Caesarea - Acts 21-24 (AD 58-60)

After Paul was arrested in the temple, he was put on trial there in Jerusalem before Ananias b. Nedebaeus (the current High Priest). When a plot against his life was discovered, Paul was then sent to Caesarea, where he remained under guard for two years. There is a PDF lesson outline available for this podcast. Paul's Arrest in Jerus - Acts 20-21 (AD 58)

We look at the final events at the end of Paul's third missionary journey, and his arrival in Jerusalem for the festival of Pentecost (June AD 58). He presented the Gentile contributions to the saints in Jerusalem. While he was in the temple purifying himself, he was arrested on charges of polluting the temple. Paul's Third Journey - Acts 19-20 (AD 54-58)

We survey the major details involved in Paul's third missionary journey beginning in the Spring of AD 54 and ending with his arrival in Jerusalem in June of AD 58. This was an amazing period of fruitful evangelistic activity for Paul, which resulted in the full establishment of several churches in Turkey, Macedonia, and Greece, from whom he raised a contribution to take to the needy saints in Jerusalem. It was on this third journey that Paul wrote three of his big epistles (1 & 2 Corinthians...

The Jew-Gentile Issue in Early Church

The book of Acts does not explain why the Jewish Christians continued to keep every jot and tittle of the Law, while the Gentile Christians were kept free from circumcision and law-keeping. This podcast deals with that issue and explains the purpose behind that arrangement in the redemptive plan of God, until all the OT was fulfilled and Heavens and Earth passed away. Satan - Influence in World Today?

Since the book of Revelation indicates that Satan was cast into the Lake of Fire at the time of the destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70, most preterists assume that Satan is no longer a factor in our lives after AD 70. However, that may not be a safe assumption. We look at this issue from the perspective of cosmology (the relationship between the SEEN realm and the UNSEEN realm). There is a PDF lesson outline available for this podcast. Email us if you would like to have a copy of it: "Satan Influ...
