Nerdy News Special #15: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero, and Inside Out 2's Record-Breaking Success

The sandy cheeks movie premiered august 2nd on netflix . We're getting a new christmas themed action movie called red one . It's coming soon to theaters . I don't know if it's gonna be this year , most likely this year , since they're already doing trailers and whatnot . It's going to star the Rock , chris Evans , lucy Liu and JK Simmons . I'm kind of interested .

I kind of want to see how this plays out , because sometimes when they have an interesting cast , I'm like you know what , I'll entertain it . I don't know if it's going to be good , I don't know if it's going to be bad , but I'll entertain it .

Here's one that I find kind of funny Soulmate , an erotic thriller spin-off of Megan , you know , the doll that gained sentience , and all that . That's in the works at Blumhouse and Atomic Monster Studios . This is focusing on a man who's trying to cope with the loss of his wife using an ai android and it's going to be released in 2026 .

Now I know you're thinking , behold it , we'll get there . Uh , last thing I want to mention in movies that pixar's inside out 2 has exceeded all expectations , earning 155 million in the box office opening weekend . Not only is it the second best animated opening of all time behind Incredibles 2 , it is the best opening weekend of 2024 so far , by nearly double .

But that's what they're saying , that's what some folks are saying , gentlemen , what do you got under movies ?

. The red one , that movie , that one is definitely going to be something to look out for because , once again , right now , it's in the middle , it's basically teetering on the fence . It could be great , but then it could also flop because the trailer gives off .

I , yeah , this is lovely right here , this is awesome , but at the same time it's like , yeah , do I really want to sit through this ? Is it going to be worth it ? So you know , right now , this is one of the movies that Can go either way and be like , yeah , it either could be . Hey , this should have just came out , you know , on Netflix or something .

I'm so glad I went to the theaters for that scene where , like you , heard the roaring from the batmobile in the theater like , oh shit , it's like menacing . See , there's just some movies where it makes more sense for it to have a theatrical release , and then there's some movies that makes more sense to have a direct home release .

I don't really care about , I'm going to be real with you , I don't really care about the same cheeks .

I'm getting those kind of vibes because you already know based on the premise where , like , okay , you're replacing your wife I don't know if she's dead or not , Maybe I don't know what exactly happened , but you're replacing her with an android .

That's like artificial intelligence and I'm like I have an idea of how this is going to play out , but I don't know the details .

I've been waiting to see some stuff , also the Irregular Magic High School , my boy Sayu . I'm so ready for my boy Sayu and , if y'all don't know , sayu is the one that voices the main character in the Irregular at Magic High School .

It's like the other side , I guess , when you're looking through the eyes of his sister , it's relatively like I said . It's like , hey , while we see it through the brother's eyes , it's like , yeah , we know how this is going to work .

His sister's eyes it makes it look like I want to date my brother , I don't want nobody touching my brother , ugh , so that's what y'all looks like . So I can't wait to touching my brother . So that's what it looks like . So I can't wait to see how that works . Also , inside Out 2 , I want folks to understand they playing too much . They play too damn much .

And the reason why I say that is because , for them , if you ain't seen the movie , watch it please .

But at the point of and I'm not going to spoil everything , because I'm just going to tell you Anxiety , when , when , happy , when basically happy , goes up and tells anxiety Enough's enough , and I'm just using my own words , I'm not using the words of the movie . Uh , yeah , enough's enough . Your time is done . Like we can't keep her like this .

Like yo , I want y'all to know something . They touching on real life shit . They touching on real life shit . And uh , that shit gonna make your ass cry . I thought it was a kids movie . That shit gonna make your ass cry . I thought it was a kids movie . I'm just being so real . Inside Out 2 touches on some real shit .

That's why I can't wait for a TV show , because I want to see how a TV show touches on some stuff . Like yeah , hey , keep it with the reality . Because these emotions in his like yeah , yeah , nah , we can't keep having her like this . Like yeah , yeah but , those are my things on this right . So , as far as movies go , those are my things .

So Bikini Bottom , the Sandy Cheeks movie that we wound up having , the biggest thing for that is that we finally get a Sandy Cheeks movie is the biggest issue , cause it's like everyone's been wanting more information about sandy cheeks and stuff like that .

So , but let's be realistic , aside from the fact that most , like spongebob is still a big thing , but most people ain't really watching it like that . Like , yeah , kids are seeing it , some of it , but it's not become , it's nowhere near as big as it used to be . So it kind of feels like it's too little , too late type of thing .

Like you decided to put this out so late , like Black Widow .

Which I don't mind you know I've spoken on trailers and teasers before is the fact that I like when you give me like just a little bit , give me something to get me hyped about it , but don't ruin the story for me or anything I like that . That's perfectly fine with that . But the thing about it is is that we're giving up .

Too much information is one thing , but giving too little information got you like I don't really know what red one is supposed to be . Most of the scenes that you kind of see is the rock turning a board piece from monopoly I guess a monopoly board or a toy car into a real race car and you're driving off . You didn't get nothing , I mean okay so .

At this point it's going to go one of two ways that I kind of see , and it's either going to be this is going to be a direct copy of Love , death and Robots on Netflix . If you have not seen that series , please do . It's a great series . It's got some really good stories into it .

It's either going to be an exact copy of like three or four episodes from Love , death and Robots or and this is kind of I'm telling our age here , so I'm very sorry , onto this , what was that Disney movie that had the AI ?

It's either like this is made from , like the same people it's supposed to be in the same universe as megan is going to be one of those cases of like it's either going to be that or it's going to wind up being a um , it's just , it still might be good , but it's gonna be one of those like this is not taken seriously , like I cannot take it seriously at

all , whatsoever why jb ?

Um , this whole like oh , I have to replace my lover because I'm because of such and such like , no , no , is it really just going to be a whole thing of explaining to people why we should move on ?

And , honestly , we've seen this premise before too , and it's like oh , my child died and I decided to either bring them back to life or replace them with a robot , and then the robot went psychotic . Yes , because you programmed it to be a certain . When you're over programming something , it goes haywired . The human mind cannot be properly calculated .

That's why , no matter what ai's , that we have now is never going to be perfect , because we're not perfect . It's not possible . It's just going to over complicate stuff see .

Okay , y'all talking about replacing the women with AI androids , I'm like , uh , no , otherwise you'll get that one episode of Futurama where he was probably dating Lucy Lubach , which is funny because we're just talking about fucking Lucy Lu and .

By tyler said it's supposed to make you cry . It's supposed to make you feel emotional . It's supposed to tackle real stuff . That's just what it's supposed to be .

Um , some people have wound up getting upset about it because they're like well , it's a big contradictory , because when you're in the first movie , we got a chance to see into the minds of her parents and her parents only had the five base emotions . They didn't have the other ones and they didn't really talk about that too much . Into the second movie .

First thing into this I could tell y'all have never grown up to the point that y'all had to suppress emotions before yeah , it doesn't mean that they're not there I'm like , hey , man , listen , like it's different for children , especially like you .

It's usually not until somebody reminds you , like an outside source reminds you of hey , you remember , with this and this when we was kids , I'm like I forgot about that . You try to remember . Huh , I wonder why about it ? Oh , it's attached to a negative emotion that I locked away . That's why .

So it's like this movie's supposed to reconnect you with those emotions , supposed to reconnect you with those moments of like , hey , you locked them away . But because you locked them away , you never addressed it . They never actually got resolved , it never actually got fixed , it never actually became a thing .

Why the fuck am I crying over here ? Why did I cry on that part ? He was like he was like nah , he was like nah , like look . Anxiety got to run me , but I won because that's some bullshit , it's true .

I mean , I didn't think it was that serious , of course you didn't . You didn't think that because you couldn't talk to nobody else about all your issues . You didn't think about the fact that you had to lock away all of your emotions , that you couldn't find a single person that you could really relate everything to .

Because you talk to your friends about everything , yeah , and your friends will be there for you , but then sometimes your friends will pick on you about it and then their way is their way of trying to help you , but it doesn't always help . Sometimes it makes you feel even worse you always talk to your parents about it .

No , it feels like they throw it right back at you whenever you get into an argument or they never truly helps . Can you find someone that you can actually relate everything to ? Can you open it all out there and a person is just listening , most cases .

No , your imaginary friend is the one that did so and you didn't remember that because you finally got to the point that you locked away your emotions , you locked away your imaginary friend with you . Now that you're remembering the fact that , oh , I locked them away . Not only did I lock them away , I killed them . They can't come back .

I had to Like it was a big thing for me . I had to understand I had to help myself a lot , because if I didn't help myself I've mentioned this before , but it's the truth I wouldn't be here talking to y'all today . It's just one of those things like you really gotta you have to find the help . In some cases somebody's not gonna be there to help you .

You gotta find it for yourself and it's a hard thing . But , yeah , anxiety . I ain't even seen the movie , but anxiety Bruh From what I've seen in the previews . From what I've seen in the previews , I already have ideas of when did somebody's crime I already got points of that and that moment when you're like , oh , joy's got to step in .

Keep in mind also , sometimes it's not your Joy but somebody else's Joy that can step in and help you . But that's all I got from movies . I ain't got nothing else on to it , yeah .

For starters , uh , failure frame I became the strongest and annihilated everything with low level spells . It's a new anime that's coming out on july 4th . Uh , fairy tale 100 year quest airs on july 7th . Uh , said to be slated with 25 episodes .

So by the time the year goes up Because you know we're already halfway into the year anyway so by January it will probably conclude . That's just my speculation . New magic anime called Wistoria , wand and Sword Is being directed by Tatsuya Yoshihara , director of Black Clover .

The anime is scheduled to also air on July 7th , so we definitely have our Fancy Club president in tap for that . Marvel's Hitmonkey hits New York City for Season 2 on July 15th and it will be streaming on Hulu . Blue Lock Season 2 is coming . Don't miss the U20 arc and the thrilling matches that follow . That is in october , october 5th , yeah .

Uh , delicious and dungeon anime has been confirmed for a second season and that's also coming somewhere in october . I think I said october 2024 , as far as I remember , uh , windbreaker has been confirmed for a second season and 2025 kaiju number eight anime has been confirmed for a second Season in 2025 .

Kaiju number 8 anime has been Confirmed for a second season to air somewhere In the future and , in relation , there's also a game that's been announced . So , oh yeah , uh , fairy tale To uh Sequel to the fairy tale RPG . Um , that came out like 2020 or like some sort . Um , yeah , there's a sequel that's coming out .

It it's going to cover all the way up to the Alvarez arc , and I just thought to just throw it out there . While we're still on the two subjects , chain Soldier , there's going to be a special anime event visual release and it will take place in Japan on July 20th , with season 2 officially in production . We have Neat Kunochi Anime has been revealed .

The series is going to begin on January 25th . Essentially , du gets wrapped up into this girl that's like a ninja by night and is do-nothing otaku by day . I thought it was kind of interesting . Also , with the animation , the art style , I thought it was like kind of interesting on its own .

Also with the animation , the art style , I thought it was kind of cute . I might give it a chance and let y'all know how I feel about it . But uh , moving on , uh , new anime league of legends shows are already in the works to release in the future after arcane , in on with season two .

So we're only gonna get a second season of arcane and after that they just pretty much're only gonna get a second season of arcane and after that they just pretty much do like a whole bunch of spinoffs where , like , in actuality it's more like arcane was more about uh vi and james and whoever else was uh involved in um that area , and then after that it's

gonna focus on other characters probably . Anyways , fallout TV show ended with a clear nod to Mr House from Fallout New Vegas and now the showrunners are confirming in a recent interview that the character will play a part in Season 2 . In totally wild news , a Totally Spies live-action series is in the works from Will Ferrell and Amazon .

Dc's Kite man series will release on July 18th on Max . Ahead of the premiere of House of the Dragon Season 2 on June 16th , hbo renewed the Game of Thrones spin-off for a third season .

Warner Brothers and Cartoon Network have announced that a spin-off of Foster's Home of Imaginary Friends called Foster's Fun Time for Imaginary Friends and a Scooby-Doo anime called Go Go Mystery Machine are currently in the works . Now a little information on those two .

Foster's Fun Time of Imaginary Friends will be aimed at preschoolers and will follow a now young group of preschool imaginary friends who are being looked after by Blue group of preschool imaginary friends who are being looked after by blue .

So , in other words , imagine like that , one season of total drama to where , for some reason , the main cast now smaller and then with gogo mystery machine , this is where , okay , shaggy and scooby got these new friends in japan and it's gonna be like pretty much a scooby-doo anime and shaggy and scooby unwittingly unleash hundreds of mischievous monsters and now they

got to go around catching them , almost like a Lilo and Stitch kind of situation . But I know we're not supposed to compare too much , but that's just the vibe I was getting from them .

And last thing under television news oh man , the big three of Cartoon Network 2010 era is making a comeback , adventure Time regular show and the Amazing World of Gumball is getting a movie and a spinoff slash revival series . What do y'all got on television , gentlemen ?

To me it sounds like they're doing a Teen Titans Go and I don't know whether to be happy or fucked up about this shit . I'm just I don't know , but anyway , go Talos . I'm sorry .

Um , marvel's Hit Monkey I'm actually surprised that it's even getting a second season because , aside from the fact that it was well , well under under the radar , that that show is like four or five years old now at this point , yeah , it is actually is actually old .

So I'm actually surprised is even coming back into it because , like Tyler said , it was a hit or miss type of thing . People who read the comics said that it is that the show was not as gory as it could be , that , even though Hulu is known for , like the fact that there was , it will have gory shows and stuff on there . It just wasn't like .

There's literally a dude I follow on youtube and I can't remember his tag now , but literally his thing is the fact he's like I am not a professional chef , but I'm gonna make all this shit and prove to you that anybody can cook . And that is his whole premise of all of his youtube shorts and all his videos .

And literally he'll do the most stuff that people say is extremely fucking complicated and he will get it done . First try , like , on and on , like . He's like literally like macaroons , and it was something . Oh my God , macaroons are so complicated .

This dude made macaron videos like five times and he's like I swear to God , I have no idea why people say macaroons are so difficult . This shit is actually really fucking easy . If you don't , can't follow the recipe , that's just on . You Literally took Gordon Ramsay's Beef Wellington , made it twice perfectly .

He's like it's really not complicated , just follow the recipe and you're on there . And then he also was honest about the fact he's like is this worth the time period putting through ? And he's like some stuff yeah , some stuff it'll take you all day to make this shit . But other stuff it's like it'll take you about two days to make it and it's not worth it .

He's like , yeah , just fuck , all that I made it , it's not worth it , type thing . And of course , I follow Benjamin with Babish too . So Babish , he has some stuff that he does a couple times and he shows his mess and screw ups . He's like , yeah , this didn't work out , type of thing . Or then he's like this is how this is a better way of doing it .

And he's like experimental with this shit . So I love babbage too . You don't have to be a professional chef . I make bunches of recipes and stuff . I used to put it all up on my instagram , my facebook , until I got like so you know , facebook , instagram started being on their bullshit .

But I used to be on all types of stuff on that , making all these different recipes , all these different stuff , and I would post up these like pictures and stuff on my instagram all the damn time of just , this is shit that I make like you don't have . It's not super complicated .

Once you got the recipe down , you got it , and then the most fun is creating your own version of it . And then that's what makes it even better , because you're you're tuning it to your taste . The chain soldier I'm excited . Um , season two had already been announced . I did mention that actually on the um when I did my solo podcast on that .

Definitely check that out . If you guys get a recap for season one , um , I hopefully encourage you just to watch it . But still , um , but yeah , with Chain Soldier , it did already get um an announcement for season two , but it was wound up taking a longer production .

So we finally got a visual release , which was cool and all , but it was just kind of keep people hyped because production is just taking a little longer than expected . Chain soldier did not blow up as much as they wanted it to , so the studio is working on other stuff .

So that's what's taking longer into it and just trying to keep you reminded , hey , this is still coming . So the visual release seems pretty cool and all that . But realistically it's just a marketing ploy . So I mean , I'm gonna see what .

We'll see what happens when it actually comes out as far as neat kunoichi um , that's pretty awesome , it looks pretty cool and , honestly , fuck all that . What I need , this fucking house of ninjas to come back . That's what I need right now . If you ain't seen that shit on Netflix .

As far as in the league of legends , jb and I both jb knows I'm excited as hell into this . Arcane was fucking golden . It was such an amazing . We talked about that thing to the t of how goddamn amazing it was .

I think it's one of the few television shows that we actually gave a perfect rating for right , or at least like a really , really high-ass rating .

That's going to be really helpful into how the how the the show progresses . One thing to keep in mind is that I love that this is not following everything in the games . It's not following everything in the comics into it whatsoever . It's his own original story that can still fit into all of it and that's what makes it so fucking amazing .

Totally Spies to me . You're just making another Charlie's Angel . Yeah , I'm just saying .

of my gripes . I would never let them live this down . Honestly , it's one of those things where , as much as I want them to reboot Deadman Wonderland , I just feel like okay , after 10 years that's probably never going to happen , so I just let it go . But if they give it to us now , I'm like okay , thanks , but where was this energy 10 years ago ?

I don't really got nothing else on it , although I do wanna . I wanna just , you know , shadow or Met God himself , talos , by telling you something , and this is my personal opinion House of the Dragon , season 2 , is trash , I'm trying to tell you . I know it's only been two episodes . I'm hoping that they just building up , because I'm not impressed .

Like usually the good shit comes at the tail end anyway , it's more like this is building up to , and also with the whole thing with Sister Sage and Firecracker , yeah , I feel like with season season four it just feels like a big build-up to the final season , season five , whenever that's coming out .

So I'm like , okay , I don't mind the slow burn at this point , because you know , with the boys they always insert some um wild shit like the sauna scene and I'll just leave it at that . So for the most part I'm like I'm not complaining , like at least we get like some backstory , like oh well , home landed , going back to his roots and all that shit .

Like I'm not complaining so far , but uh , we'll see when we actually do the review on the boys season four . But uh , yeah , like , uh , sometimes I feel like the judgment calls are a little too soon . You know , like just take a little step back and like kind of fully process what happened before you like cast judgment .

That's why I'm like sometimes , you know , if I feel like , if I watch this with fresh eyes and in hindsight I'm like , oh wait , hold on , I should have thought it would be like this .

Epic Mickey is getting a remaster with Epic Mickey Rebrushed . Pink Mercy is returning to Overwatch for a limited time only for support of breast cancer research . Spoilers have been revealed for Magical Gatherings , bloomboro and Thus Born , set alongside Assassin's Creed . But you know that's coming around .

The developer of Power World has said that Nintendo is yet to make a complaint after the Pokemon company said it is intended to investigate and take appropriate measures against Power World and copyright .

I already mentioned Fairy Tail 2 is getting a game and there's also a remaster of Lollipop Chainsaw called Lollipop Chainsaw Repop , and it will launch this September with details on the remastered features that players can expect . So what do y'all got ?

The biggest gripe is still breath of the wild and um tears of the kingdom is being the full-on open world . Um , a lot of people complain it's not real dungeons , doesn't feel like a real dungeon . And now we've jumped all the way fucking back , like you said , like linked to the past , so we're getting back actual zelda dungeons way back now too .

So some people are super excited onto that one . Um , so yeah , we got a couple things that's coming into it and then , like the mario party and mario bros brothership , it's pretty much a continuation .

And it became more of a headache than it became a health . It became more issues . People was complaining , stuff was lagging more . Even if you had a good internet connection , it was starting to lag . You would lose your character on the screen . It was like , oh , I can have all these people there , but it wasn't worth it .

It didn't necessarily feel worth it as much . So it's like there is a point where it's too much .

So most likely it's coming soon , but if it's not coming this year , then most likely it might be a launch exclusive , uh , you know , a launch release with uh , the new system , because you know , you know how most of these consoles works , where they always gotta have like launch titles and it would make sense for prime 4 and jamboree to be a launch release .

But here's the issue If you decide to pre-order for PlayStation four , you can't get the special collector's edition that comes with the little with the figurine and all the other stuff into it and the concept arts and the books and stuff like that . Oh , and the Switch . Sorry , but if you order for the Switch , you order for PlayStation 5 , you order for PC .

Every one of y'all can get that , but oh , because I can't get the money to upgrade to a newest gen console , shit , I'm stuck . I can't get the little special figurines , fuck y'all .
