Exploring Emotional Depths and Psychologies in Teen Titans (Season 2): Self-Doubt, Vulnerability and the Hedgehog's Dilemma Within Terra

Let's go ahead and zone in on this one .

So season 2 , mainly centered around Terra , while I like to call the Hedgehog's Dilemma , because after diving back into Neon Genesis Evangelion , I noticed how some characters , like mainly Shinji , has this situation to where they're in a position , to where maybe they've been traumatized , to a point to where they keep people at an arms distance because not only are

they afraid of getting hurt , but they're also afraid of hurting others as well . But with Terra it's more personified , more literal , to where she just has no control over her powers . So she basically been on the run because of how dangerous she is , but she came across slayed at some point .

I know the timeline doesn't show that , oh , she met Slade , but my point being is that at some point she did meet Slade . And there's this whole plan to where okay , terra , I need you to infiltrate Titan's Tower , get them to defend you and then you just destroy them from the inside and then your training will be complete .

But in reality it's like saying that because she has little to no control over her powers , she tries to I'm sorry , I kind of brain fart right there because she has no control over her powers , she believes Slade to be this man that she can trust , because it seems like you know how Slade is .

He has that charisma , that level of confidence that he's like you can kind of trust this guy , but not really definitely you cannot trust it , dude .

But that's the whole thing is like he just gave off that illusion of confidence and he had this wisdom to where , for Terra , it was more believable , especially since she didn't have a whole bunch of people like a support system , like the Titans . So imagine if Terra met the Titans before she met Slade .

Maybe she will learn how to control her powers and have a support system to where she's not going to be easily manipulated like she did with Slade . And the irony is not lost in the season 2 finale of this season . But enough about me rambling uh Kokugasu , what's your general feel on season 2 ?

This , yeah , um with the first episode , has nothing to do with Terra , isn't introduced into like third episode of the season , but the first episode immediately puts doubt into the Titans and we'll dive a little bit further into that and it's it's a great foreshadowing of things to come that there's doubt in the group that things are not going to be exactly what

you want them to be how long is forever ? and it's always wanted to be serious exactly , and so it's like you ask , like how I was , like we're going to be best friends forever , and how long is forever ? Forever is not forever . Forever is not guaranteed and it's no , not at all .

Like I put in this aspect , like , uh , like our mutual friend Daisuke that we know , that we talked to and everything I mean since we moved I haven't had a chance to talk to him that much , like I know you still do , but since I had moved I haven't had chances like I talked to him as much as stuff and it was not .

It's not like I'm falling out , but sometimes things like you kind of grow apart a little bit , like at some point start talking to each other and that just kind of you thought why did they ? yes , but I mean that's . But as usually what happens , like sometimes , like over time , things just kind of happen you drift apart .

It's just a normal thing that happens and it's it's a scary thing because when you build that bond with someone you don't want to leave , you don't want them to leave , and then life has whole different plans , it'll put something right there between you , be like , and you're separated .

But sometimes , even though you're not entitled to know , some things change and friends like , okay , uh , life got busy , I got to take care of my business , but they're not gonna tell you that .

Because sometimes it's the kind of things where , yeah , like I can kind of understand why you would want to keep that under wraps , but that's the kind of thing it's like .

Sometimes you get left on scene like abandon , like not to that extreme , but you know , I'm getting that to where essentially just feel so lost , that like whoa , where's the disconnect , like what happened to us ?

But that's just it , though it's like sometimes it's like people go through difficult times where they just kind of don't want to talk about , and it's not that they don't care about you anymore , it's just you know they got their own life to live , so just kind of respect that and hell , there's a lot of people that go on social media and be like I may not

always be there for you , but the love is still there . But you know what I mean . Like , um , so it's like I'm still rooting for you , um , and spirit and all that . So it's like just because we don't talk that much anymore or we don't hang out that much anymore doesn't mean that our friendship is dying .

It's just , life just gets in the way sometimes , or ? in some cases like character development where you just start to realize it , and sometimes it requires that you spend some time alone to figure things out before you can reintroduce yourself as a better version of yourself later on exactly in this entire season .

But unlike the first season where it was like , okay , they're building themselves up as a team , we're still getting to know everyone and things like that get getting to understand a little bit more background of everyone minus Raven and Beast Boy , but getting a little bit more background of most of the Titans and getting more like an understanding of different things .

And then it's like now we're at this point of how good am I to the team , how good am I as a person , how good am I here ? And that's where a lot of that's where most of this entire season comes from . So , as far as the generalization that that's what I have for generalization .

I'm pretty much ready to go ahead and dive into it , obviously so , but yes , like that's , my generalization is that this one is if you have so much self-doubt , it feels like this entire season was completely dedicated to doubt and how doubting yourself can cause you to have a lot of fucked up decisions , and that's pretty much what winds up happening throughout

this entire season .

So simple breakdown . We know , we already know one , so one obviously is we wind up trap like Robin gets sent to the future . They wind up fighting against a time traveler and this is not reverse flash time traveler . It's a completely different time traveler . But let's keep models of this . Warp does not really . Warp does not make many appearances in DC comics .

I think he's also one of the villains that kind of started with the Teen Titans animated show . Like I don't remember at all hearing about him in the comics before this , before this episode . Like , in all honesty , the only time traveler that DC has ever made you really worry about was reverse flash was well , don't think too much about it on cookie guys .

You would go back to reruns , but um , but no . For real , though , it's like the biggest thing wasn't even him , it was the fact of just what happens in the future . Like no , no , it wasn't . It wasn't Robin , my bad , it was Starfire . Yeah , wasn't . Yes , it was Starfire .

Starfire winds up following warp into the future and she and obviously is the perfect person for this . She has a strong thing about friendship and every time that there was doubt , even though Robin is like the great motivational speaker , the person who really keeps everyone together as friends is Starfire .

Like the episode literally starts off with Starfire trying to get everyone to come together and try to enjoy a movie , while eating the earth's popcorn and stuff , and she's like just trying to get . She's made a feast , she's made something . She's like I just want us to be able to chill and hang out , but nobody's interested .

I mean like everybody is so busy and something else , and it happens , don't you know ?

We do celebrate friendship day , but the thing about is that it's not like a white celebration to it , so it's not people just like oh yeah , we just hang out with friends when we can .

We're always so busy that we don't always make time for other people or for ourselves , like that I feel like that teenagers flash younger jokes it no honesty , yeah , but for real though , it's like it becomes pretty scary when you realize that things get happening . So starfire winds up getting sent to the future and then everybody has completely grown apart .

She never came back . Robin goes to bloodhaven and becomes night wing you like wait what ? That's what prompted you , not batman telling you starfire leaving .

Robin is a not so cyborg is able to fix himself , but in this case his power cells died and he was just like there's nothing I can do , and he was so encroached in self-doubt there was nothing he could do about it .

Yeah , he doubted himself and therefore entered himself yeah and then raven became completely secluded and beast boy becomes unfortunately a circus , circus it's like , it's like saying that um well , why would it ?

We've all had dark moments . Even if you haven't , even if it seems minor , everybody has had it . And I've had my white sheriff , you . I still go through that every now and again and it's usually my friends and my family that hold me together onto that .

If I ever find myself having those dark moments , those dark thoughts , I think of my wife and my kids before I would think of my friends . That would be like , hey , we're constantly checking up on you to make sure that you're okay . We don't want nothing bad to happen to you .

It's like it's a bunch of different things that wound up circling , cycling and just makes you feel horrible . But then it's a struggle to hold on to yourself during those times . But if you can , great . But if you can't , your friends , the family , do love you and do care and they're there for you . And that's pretty much what starfire was .

She was that person who killed everyone together . She was that dude that was here . Um , most families have a matriarch of the family , where you have that one person that holds everyone together , that one person who plans all the events or checks up on everyone , and then what winds up happening is is that person passes away . The family falls apart .

Yeah and it becomes scary . But it's real , like that really happens . There are some people who are so hard struggling , relying on themselves , that the only thing they can rely on is someone else , because they can't rely on themselves , and I mean . I'm still there right now . Yeah , so that's what we .

Yet that's what starfire was to the team , that's what she was to the group and she is like . We absolutely love starfire because she realizes how important she is . Throughout the beginning of the episode , she felt that she was unimportant , she felt that she served absolutely no purpose whatsoever , but at this point she understood how important she truly was .

Remember she's still at this point she still had doubt about , for what happened with black fire . She still had doubt with herself at that point because everyone wanted to hang out with black fire right in her at that moment .

But so that , even though it may seem like , oh , this has happened , like maybe a long time ago , technically I think within this timeline , that may have been only been like a couple weeks ago . That's a difficult thing to get off for you when it feels like someone's chosen someone else over you . That Don't just get over that very quickly .

So it may have only been like a couple weeks she still has these strong feelings . So Keep that in mind . When you keep that in mind , when watching the episode , you're just like , yeah , it makes sense .

She's very doubtful of herself , she's very Upset , she's very unsure of herself and so if she relies on her friends , it's like her friends rely on her and then they don't want to do anything , like it's national friendship day , but I feel like I have no friends . So horrible way .

Oh , they just had a falling out , they had like this disagreement , not like in on episode three of season one , but it's like one of those things where a man like you were gone for 20 years and things just fell apart , you know .

. But again , this one also is a great start because it's doubt . This is where doubt really starts to become a big factor into the season and it starts great from episode one and then moves forward . So we wanted to have a starfire Understanding this , like we're understanding through star fires eyes . There's doubt from everybody of what's gonna happen .

That they , how they felt , is that all it takes is one member leaving the team and all of them be like you know what ? We're not a team anymore , they're all gonna just break apart and it's all gonna be go to shit . So I'm gonna help and it's like what the hell ?

But then we wanted to following that up with episode two , where we have Beast Boy's doubt himself . Beast Boy has this strong belief in himself that , no matter what , he can all it like he . He can figure stuff out . But then he's also super doubtful of himself . He still feels himself too young to do things .

And so episode two it's a really simple episode but it's the biggest importance to that is still understanding how things go into that Beast Boy goes missing because he turns into , because he's green , and he turns into a dog when there's another green dog running around and that green dog belongs to an alien .

And the alien is like hey , I found my doggy and slaps of collars straight on On Beast Boy's neck . And unfortunately , beast Boy , while he's wearing his collar , he can't escape like this collar adjusts to no matter what he turns into , this collar adjusts completely to whatever it is . He can't escape . He's stuck .

Meanwhile , the actual dog itself , the actual alien dog itself , is hiding around with the Titans and he's just sitting here enjoying himself . Never was like Beast Boy . What are you doing ? They're like wait , this isn't Beast Boy . Where's Beast Boy at ? And then dog talks .

And after this , no I like no , no , no , no , no .

I can't get over this . It's the thing that threw me off one time I was one . This is why I took a break . I took a long break from here . Now that's what I've seen this like . Several days this .

This person posted a wedding photo , a wedding venue of Literally it was a black man , a white woman getting married and in their photo the black man was wearing literal chain collar and chains Like chains hanging from a collar and then like Actual braces on his wrist and that was their wedding photo . Is that ? He was wearing that ?

And I think their siblings was like oh , we broke the chain stuff . No one saw it that way . It was like your ancestors are disappointed , what is wrong with you ? And it's like right , hell and so , but In Beeswoy he's just like I'm in a collar . He's like I'm just a freak . Now I'm just I'm someone's pet . Exactly what my future said it was going to be .

It didn't happen exactly the way I thought it was gonna happen , but it still happened . I'm still freaking . I'm still just a pet and understand still that these were for a long time right , it's like because this is still canon to the show too .

For a very long time , beeswoy considered himself a freak because of the fact that he , like kept morphing into various different animals . He wound up having so much entombment with animals that he started backing away from human beings Until he really like gotten to . So he met the Titans and then he had more like hope for humanity again .

Once he left , like the Doom Patrol , he felt like a freak . He felt that people didn't like him . He's green , like . No matter where you go , you can't hide the fact that your skin is green , so it's already a big issue in itself . At least , marcia Manhunter , miss Marcia , they can change themselves .

They can change their skin color to look like humans and stuff , but he can't like . He's stuck , he's green . So no matter where you go , you're green . You know I'm talking about . You relate more to animals than humans .

. No , family holds bonds together and stuff like I recently wound up talking to my brothers about it , about the fact that I did have suicidal thoughts and stuff like that . So since that my brother's always check up , like every week , at least twice a week , they will check up on me to make sure I'm okay .

Hey , check it in how you doing , bro , we love you .

But you know , that's , that's real love , that's how that's real family , like I love my brothers because they do that , like they will check up on me to make sure I'm okay and they're like my starfire . They will check up on me and they'll be extra bubbly with even if they're going through their own shit . They'll be extra bubbly with me and check up on me .

So that's that's how things work out . But yeah , no , it's all , that's , that's all it is . It just checking in , makes sure I'm okay . It's Sunday . It's a regular checkup day for me . A time of reporting is Sunday . So , um , being on the stand like that , that that's whole story is a whole different thing in itself .

Beast Boy , miss Marsh , like that's a whole different thing in itself . We're not going to go into that . Um , not going to go into that .

But no , it's just like Beast Boy had a really had a really rough growing up , so that's a big thing to keep in mind on for that as well , and so he's already felt like a freak , and then now he's being treated like a pet , found out his future . He's a circus creature Like oh my God , this is horrible .

This is not the first time this alien aliens like him has been to this planet .

I want him getting fucked up , watching somebody watching like it was a little clip things really fucked up thing . Or somebody getting skinned alive and I'm like what the hell ? It wasn't real but it still was like seeing that didn't seem a colossal Titan . They did not mix well with my brain . I have ADHD . This doesn't go well .

No , I got you , I got you , but um , yeah , I don't know , but no , I don't know , I don't know , I don't know , I don't know . I think it was probably just as big , if they as big as a colossal Titan . Everybody's fun . That was just that alien decide , those aliens decided to invade Earth . Everybody's fun , that's just so .

We're going to need like three Superman or Superman's . We need the built from my army . We need to try to take this down , oh God . But no , it was like I mean , we have it onto this episode , but it was mostly this episode to me hit more like these boys that understand . That was like right after the first , after the first episode of the season .

I was like damn , I feel bad for these boys because that's , that's pretty harsh , that's pretty harsh . He got hit pretty hard on this one . Now we come for the fan that , one of the best episodes of the season . Our introduction of Tara .

And they were like , oh well , come on over to the Titans tower , you can stay with us . And these boys were like really happy about it because , you know , he caught feelings like immediately with like love on first sight . Yeah .

She's so still no , keep in mind what we talked about in the first part to where she had to keep her emotions in check , to where , even if she felt some type of way about it , she still have to , like , keep her emotions in check to make sure the shit doesn't go this is true , so it's like but she don't even , but she's not the type of person to get

jealous , yeah , yeah .

Of course , she normally not the person to get jealous and whatnot , but at the same time it's like imagine like one of those anime moments to where , okay , main character guy is getting flirted on by this random chick that's being like oddly friendly towards him , whatnot , and then main character girl is out in the cut , like you know , like down the hallway ,

whatnot , and there's like this ominous aura , but she's not saying anything . I want to say it's more like that one episode in New Yasha to where Moroku thought that he was invisible . Well , no , sango was invisible . Well , she thought she was invisible .

And then Moroku was just flirting around with all the other women and Sango was just standing there looking at him menacingly . She didn't really do anything until he turned around . It's like one of those things .

And I hate using the Teen Titans , go quote , but I mean it's still funny . Yeah , have you forgotten that ? Raven got the lens man ?

And then of course we I mean this is kind of a Of we're talking to head on to this one you know cyborg and jinx , but that's a whole different thing in itself later on , but still Like it's star fight walking around in in pretty much a bra and mini skirt . Yeah , rob is like , hmm , like that , I like that orange skin of yours .

Meanwhile , beast Boy is like you , gray , I'm green , we can blossom into a whole forest .

And he doesn't , he's not rude with it , he talks to the team about it , so everyone knows . And then you know , they wind up , they don't confront her , they just say , hey , we just happen to notice that you don't really know how to control your powers like that , so we want to help and stuff like that .

But she takes it the wrong way and is she won away and then , unfortunately , was a running into the clutches of slain . But that's just a funny thing , is I run and because they could have just braved it as a yo .

But even still , when you understand that , based on how Robin has spoken to the rest of the team , even with how he was speaking with Tara , he was being like extremely nice about it he wasn't good . He didn't say , hey , you can't control your powers . He said , hey , it's coming our attention .

I , we know we've been doing some stuff a lot and it's kind of we kind of know that you don't have to control your power . So you know , with some training we can actually help you get there .

He was being , he was being honest and he was being up front and clear with her . To me there was no . Yeah , it was like there was nothing like that . I don't think I was being rude , was .

And even beast was like no , that wasn't rude , but it was just like I don't know , there's nothing we could do about it If she doesn't want the help , that's just what happens . And beast what tries to go after her , tries to find her and stuff , and you know she's upset . He's like yeah , we all know , but it's not a bad thing .

She's like no , I'm just worthless , I'm useless .

She hates being told that she can't control her powers and it brings forth a big thing to her and we don't quite understand exactly how serious that is . I mean , we get a glimpse of it because in the mission , when she wants to lose and control her power , she freaks out for her .

And they was like shut up , you don't know that . And then , after that is like ironically , she ran right back to the man .

Where you're in a relationship and the other person is a way of keeping you in their control Is they tear you down with a whole lot of doubt . They make you doubt yourself , make you question yourself and be like nobody else is gonna treat you as good as I treat you , even though that person treats them like dog .

Shit that there's like nobody else is gonna treat you as good as a robot and makes you feel horrible . Yeah , I know it makes you remind you someone that we know . I know we talk about this one a couple times . Man , we have our own therapy sessions , we got this , but Either way , but no , it is one of those things .

It's like it's a , it's a major form manipulation that Slade is very good at . He's already been using this with robin . No , he is robin all the time . He's like you're never gonna find out who I am , you're never gonna do this , you're never gonna do that . And it makes robin doubt himself . And when robin doubts himself , he's got to prove himself .

And Tara for her and is not . It's not her proving herself , it's the fact that once she's been torn down , she winds up Going to the person that tears her down .

There's actually , unfortunately , a lot of women who deal with that , that deal with Men that actually tear them down , and unfortunately , there's a lot of men who deal with that also , where they're dealing with a woman that will tear them down , because a lot of these men will be Okay . I'm here in the own personal example here . I went through this .

I went through this exact same thing with my ex . It wound up being a case of A lot of self-doubt . I was a nerd . I asked out a lot of people . I asked out a lot of girls when I was younger and I was always turned down . Uh , one person wanted to be a close friend of mine . She was like no , I don't want to ruin our friendship .

Yeah and she proceeded today , and she proceeded today another person who was a mutual friend of ours . I'm like really , yeah . You know what we're not friends with , but you get that friendship . That that's pretty fucked up and so literally with that I did , I Wondered of dealing with that . I got a lot of you think anybody else is gonna .

Really you think anybody else is gonna accept you . Nobody else accepted you , I was the only one that accepted you and I did , I dealt with that . And it's a harsh thing into that aspect because even if it's not true , a part of you makes you think it's true because that's how much you doubt yourself .

And it's a very harsh thing to deal with because then it's a major form of manipulation that happens . Many people go through that in relationships , various different relationships , not just like boyfriend or not just like love relationships , sometimes friendships too . Some people literally go back to horrible friends , even though that person treats them like garbage .

They make them feel like nobody else is gonna be your friend . You've already tried , they've already told you no , and it's not even the fact that maybe it just wasn't the right time or maybe it just wasn't the right person to ask . That person took advantage of the fact that of this other person's moment of weakness , and that's what Slade did here .

So it was part of that moment of weakness in itself . And the thing about it is it says Slade was the first one to bring it up versus Robin wanted to talk with the team so they could bring it up together , so they could have a group conversation into it . Robin did the right thing Is this Slade beat on time .

So this is the one where Cyborg beat this self-proclaimed full robot named Atlas in a video game and then Atlas challenged Cyborg to a real deal fight and because Atlas didn't have any limits but Cyborg did , cyborg loses to Atlas . And then Atlas was like , yeah , I'm superior and for spoilers of war , spoilers of victory , I'm gonna take your friends .

And I was like , no , you can't do that . And I was like , oh well , just challenge me to a rematch and you can have them back . But the funny thing is this is one of those episodes where , in the end , cyborg had to push past his limits .

He had a super Sam moment to beat Atlas and it was like , like I said in the last part , he had like a Gohan moment to where , essentially , his human side is what gave him the push he needed .

This one I think it was like Darkside wanted to do one as well , but pretty much Cyborg's cyber enhancement , because it's alien tech winds up finding the limitations and so it winds up creating an additional Cyborg , a different version of Cyborg , which we do want to come into later on , because we do wind up getting this dark Cyborg back into this animated series

in a much later season .

But this is one of the ones where Atlas was like the first adaptation of that of one that was just pure robotics and makes Cyborg doubt himself because of the fact that he is still human , whereas for a very long time Cyborg sorry , finished , I thought real quick where Cyborg has always been so upset because of his robotic parts that people look at him

differently . First of all , he's black . Growing up in the timeframe that he grew up in , cyborg also dealt with racism . That has been addressed in the comics as well too . So Cyborg's already dealt with racism , but now he's dealing with that on top of the fact that now he's more than half robot .

But the second point I was gonna make , with Cyborg specifically , even though he was dealing with things such as him being half man , half machine and he was also a black man .

It also didn't help that when that one episode in season five where they first met , he was introduced wearing a hoodie and that was before the whole Trey Bomb Martin thing came went down . This is true . So it was like that was like ooh , that was like very strong for casting over there .

You can't see me , you can't see who I am , you can't see what I'm doing and stuff like that , and it's a real , it's a way of hiding and stuff . But yeah , and it is . It's one of those things that he does .

He deals with so much into it and he wants to be human and then is being feels horrible by himself for his cybernetic enhancements , for all of his robotics that he has . And then we come across Atlas , who wants to make him feel the reverse . Into that . If you're upset about your cybernetic enhancements , you should be upset that you're still human .

So it's like a part two to that , to where they just keep trying to encourage cyber . Oh well , you should embrace your cybernets . In fact , you should be fully cybernetic Hell , even though we're not on part three just yet . But literally there's a villain that's like I am so obsessed with your technology , I need it for myself .

He can't get a break for nothing , and so Atlas just wants to ruin that major character that was needed to help him understand his human side is important Because , whereas Atlas , because he's full robotic , cannot surpass his enhancements unless he gets upgrades , the human side can still keep going .

It embodies more of who Raven is and how she does things and cause . We talk about the fact that she has to control her own powers and , like we just said , she has to be able to control her emotions because if she can't , this outburst gets horrible

. Control freak freak shows up . It's the first time he's introduced . He's a very weak minded villain . He's a very weak villain . He's a couch potato with the extremely powerful remote control that can do all these different things , and he's the most dangerous couch potato ever . He's the most dangerous otaku ever , cause he can make whatever he watches become real .

So what is up happening in this episode is Raven's doubt of herself , of her fear . Raven refuses to acknowledge her fear . Her biggest fear that she has is of herself and of her father , which we're not still having gotten into that yet .

But this is a great start off to getting the understanding that there is something more going on with Raven than you really think you know . So Raven denies her fear and unfortunately , in doing so , turns the entire tower into an entirely realistic haunted mansion . At this point everybody is being hit by something .

Nobody knows what it is , but one by one , everyone gets picked , everyone gets taken away . And of course we have the iconic moment , beast Boy saying you say I'm the funny guy , I'm gonna be going first . And he's like no , you're not . And then Beast Boy , the first one to go , he's like what'd I tell you , funny guy goes first .

If you're like global and you were like I mean I know cows , potatoes like normally aren't like jacked , but I'm just saying is like bro , like with your capabilities , like you could have been a global threat if you wanted to , but it's like I feel it's like one of those things where once again , kind of with Blackfyre , it's like he's getting in his own way as

a villain .

But the thing about it is is that the limitations based on that controller is only applied to that person's imagination .

It's like he's one of those nerds that like , if a girl claims that , oh yeah , I'm into anime too , it's like , oh yeah , what did Loopy do in episode 634 ?

You're changing from the comic books and stuff like that and honestly , that's what we probably feel is that control freak really is that person that is the animators and the writers picking on us that will complain .

That's what it is Got to . But now I think about , I think that's probably what control freak would have been . I think control freak was probably the animator producers play on the people watching the show that complained about the headcanon and wants to control everything .

I mean , oh , oh , I'm sorry , but that doesn't remind me of this one shit that said the exact same thing and the whole channel got canceled . After that I was like , yes , yes , if you know who I'm talking about , ladies and gentlemen , you already know .

But no , but this one is mostly focused on rape and the fact that once she accepts the fact that she is actually afraid , that she is afraid of normal things and that's OK , because it's always that she has to put on this persona that she's not afraid of anything because of all of her dark nature , that she is entitled to , but at the same time , you can

still be afraid of normal things . It's OK to admit that you're afraid . It's OK to walk away from things that make you afraid . That's a big thing to understand . On that , too , it is OK to walk away from things that scare you . It is OK .

You don't always have to be brave , and I think this is something that , honestly , I wanted to watch in Lion King with my kids recently .

Literally , I watched this little segment and it was a phrase that Mufasa wanted to tell Simba when Simba and Nala wanted to get at the beginning of the movie and attacked by the hyenas and stuff , and like Mufasa had to show up and save them .

Literally Simba saying I was trying to be brave like you and Mufasa tells him I'm only brave when I have to be Otherwise , I still get scared too . It's OK to be afraid , and it's OK to walk away from things that make you fearful . There are some things you have to stand up to , but you don't have to be stupid with it . Care for yourself , be smart .

You are important . You're important to yourself and to other people . Be smart . And so Raven has to understand that it's OK to be afraid . Once she gets past that fear , literally everything goes away . Everything goes away at that moment because she understood this was all her .

And then Robin , instantly , because Robin's been put piecing stuff together as people was getting taken away . Robin immediately figured out who it was . He immediately figured out that it was Raven , but before he could explain it , he gets taken away .

And then Starry Part got really defense out like no , he will not accept . And then she literally took the glove off her hand and slapped kitten through the screen . I'm like , only in cartoons , ladies and gentlemen . Only in cartoons .

foreshadowing of global flap Just going to go ahead and say that name . It's not this . Even we're going to go ahead and say that name Global scratch Was a gurgle scratch .

You have to take my daughter to her prom . And everyone is like wait , wait a minute . He's like look . I am super cool , but I'm still a day .

But aside from that , aside from that , the most fucked part about the whole thing is that essentially , kitten took Robin to the prom just to make her boyfriend jealous , because apparently I think it was like one of those things like , oh well , my boyfriend's not paying attention to me , so I'm going to date with this bad boy with his motorcycle .

Because , keep in mind , when all kitten was like um , my boyfriend's not paying attention to me and he was like , oh , kitten , um , baby , don't cry , don't be upset , what do you want ? And I was like you know what ? I want to go to the prom and I know just who to go with . And then they see no Robin speeding by in that fucking motorcycle .

I was like , oh shit .

The reason he hasn't been paying enough attention to her is because he's been going out trying to find stuff for her . He's been trying to find the right thing that with that he really thinks that she would like , and then she's like oh , I'm sitting here , like , oh , you do care , just cheat on your boyfriend because you said he wasn't paying attention .

But did you even ask him ? This dude was out trying to do shit for you and you cheated on him .

Like either I have this remote detonator right here and yeah , like daddy's not calling the shots , I am and I'll push this remote .

He's like you said your happiness with her is my investment . I'm getting my money's worth out of this , like you ain't . You ain't gonna be cheating on her . You say you see them , you see the ass of their girl ? No , you see the ass on your wife . That's who you have . That's who you need to be paying attention to .

Sir , don't forget , I paid for your wedding , I paid for this , and all the ladies was like that's the type of man you're , that's really the type of man that you really need to have around your husband , the one that's like I helped invest in this . You're not gonna be looking at nobody else .

But for real , though I don't know , this this episode was to me was just jackfuck . I was like this is just what the hell . But I couldn't stop working , except for the kiss , except for fang and kicking kiss and that shit . I couldn't . I had . I made the most disgusting look on my face and I look away . I was like , oh hell , no , and understand .

For a long time I had a right to vote . That didn't help it out at all . I was like , man , it's so gross , I'm ready to move on . Yeah , I can't . I'm waiting for my next episode , so this one always .

But the only difference is she got those I beams now but funny enough , she used the I beams and the date with destiny episode . But I'm thinking that what problem was ? Transformation was supposed to come out before date with destiny , or it was probably one of those things where they would destiny .

She was just feeling some type of ways so hard about Robin and kitten that she accidentally did it once . But in this episode she kind of mastered it . So who knows ? I think it was supposed to come ?

So , first off , I did I forgot to mention some previous episode was about in in relation , because this is one where starfire again started doubting things with her and Robin because to her it felt so easy that Robin just went along with going on the big kitten , not paying attention that this is for the survival of humanity . She doesn't care about that .

She's like I just want my ride and that's all she wants . So I'm like okay , I got you .

But the thing about it is , for it was very different for this episode too , because it continues on with starfire is doubting herself Because you know now she's she starts off with every person gets a zit and it makes you feel uncomfortable , especially when it's noticeable , like when one pops up on your face and you feel like everyone else is looking at it , even

if no one is , you feel like everyone's looking at it and it makes you feel horrible and you're like it's on my face is so obvious I feel shameful of myself . I look like a freak .

It's a very common thing a lot of people tend to go through , and usually mostly females is what is most noticed about , because it's a very big hypo on female beauty versus for men it was mostly hypo on strength .

So that's usually how it goes , and so it was a clean off a starfire and the fact that she feels heavily doubted in herself and then continue on to that .

She has this big ass arm out of her face , literally like damn , what was it ? Um , fully cooling , yeah , just like in , fucking , fully cool . Giant , fucking arm out of her face , just giant , just out there , ready to smack people and punch people in the face . And then it doesn't help that , literally the villains laugh at her .

She goes into mission , she's trying to hide it from everybody , and then it pops out and then , like , the villains laugh and he and even cyborg and beast boy , beast boy and Robin have a little bit of a laugh . They're like , no , no , no , we're not like being rude . That's just what teenagers do . You see something funny ? You're gonna laugh at it .

So it's like not trying to be rude . This is what this , but she winds up hiding it and then she goes to this giant chrysalis form and then black fire shows up and you're like you again , bitch . I like looking at your sexy ass , but I don't like you . I chose you in season one , but I know better now .

Maybe I don't know , I played written , even seven , I still kind of wanted Lady Demetres to step on me .

Because you find out that while in their chrysalis form , they're in their absolute weakest and it's the easiest for them to die , and it's like that's scary , Understanding that you have a moment of weakness , that you have to have somebody protecting you .

But because starfire knows nothing about this , she wanted to leave in Tamarand when she was really young , so she never learned this .

So what was up happening in this aspect is that she doesn't know she's in a weakened , fragile state , she doesn't know that she's at risk of dying and that she needs to be protected , and so what she does is she pushes everyone away at her absolute weakest moment , literally .

And that's this episode is a very good figurative way of explaining things about emotions as well , too , because there are many times when we're downfalling , where we're spiraling downwards , where it feels like the world is completely against us and we immediately start shutting everyone out and we don't understand that we're at a point that we're reaching at our weakest

moment and a lot of times that those weakest moment is where we do need friends , where we do need family to be there to help us out , because at those weakest moments is where a lot of people wound up dying , for example , and just to not honest rift . Some peace to Jason , david Frank . I'm recently going back and still watching Power Rangers .

My kids , my kids , love it , but my kids , for the first time , finally got a chance to see Power Rangers once and always . And my kids was wondering where's the green Ranger at ? And then the yellow Ranger , you know she's like where's Trini at ?

And I had to explain to them that those actor , that the actor and actress that they died , that they're actually gone . And for Jason and David Frank , he wound up being at his absolute weakest moment that he wound up taking his own life and this is a scary thing into that . And at that moment he did the same thing .

He wound up pushing people away , shutting some people out , he held it onto himself and then , unfortunately , he passed . He wound up taking his own life and this episode , I really think , is a really great way to explain that to kids .

Minus like the killing of yourself , unfortunately , but still that moment of understanding that sometimes you will find yourself at your weakest moment . But at your weakest moment is where you do need friends , is where you do need family , where those people who truly care about you will protect you . You'll be able to see those true colors .

Because in the end , even though Starfire didn't like her sister and she still had it out for her , she didn't know that her sister really wanted to kill her until that moment . That's where it becomes extremely scary . Blackfire was ready to kill Starfire at her absolute weakest moment and that's horrible , and I say blood is thickening in water .

But realistically , it's okay to , it's okay to understand that some family ain't real family and I understand that kind of a double thing . It's that .

It seems like that because right after this episode , you know , we understand that friendship is really important and having good friends is really important , those who will actually look out for you , those who actually care about you and stuff those as very . It's extremely important to have people like that in your life .

And so then we wound up going to the next episode , titan Rising , where Tara comes back . This time she's a little bit more control . She's much more control to her power , she's had a chance to practice a little bit more and it feels like she's actually ready to come back as a Titan again .

But we know something else off , because we know the last time we saw her she was talking to Slade . Yeah , we know something's wrong . And then Raven knows something is wrong Also . Raven is very unsure and really starts questioning her onto this .

She really starts doubting her and it starts creating a big issue between Raven and Tara , to the point where Raven winds up lashing out . She's like we literally tried to help you and you just ran away and you think you could just walk back in our lives like that's okay , like you didn't just run off like that . Yes , I have doubts .

I don't know if you really are committed to this or not . These are my friends . I will not let you hurt my friends . Understand that and that's like a real thing , that's like a real talking to it , Because we all have those moments where we protect people .

We have that friend that maybe had an ex that wound up not really being good for them , but then the ex finds their way back in their lives and you really try to tell that friend like hey , be mindful on that . Or even like you had a friend that had a toxic friendship with somebody . They finally broke it off and you helped them out .

But then that friend comes back in that person's life and you're like , hey , yo , bro , just stay safe , watch out for that . Yeah , like watch out for that . And that's kind of how it felt . And Raven understands that .

She's like bro , you was toxic as hell last time and you left and then all of a sudden you just popped back up like that , like it ain't nothing , like um , so really questioning onto that one . But no , I understand , this episode was very short , though this one actually was kind of short , but then also still kind of was very simple in that aspect .

Everyone else is excited for Tara to be back , except , of course , except Raven .

And I like this episode too because it still embodies more of Robin as that leader , because Robin , even though he's still accepting of Tara , he pays attention that something does seem off , but then he majorly pays attention that something is off with Raven Once Tara comes back , and so he does have a moment where he starts talking to Raven , trying to get like

kind of get a more understanding of what's happening . Really great leadership in that aspect . A lot of times you do need . You still always need to have a good leader to piece things together . There's some stick going on in the group . You're like , hey , talk to me , what's going on ? Let's come to this .

Let's come together on this Right , like we're going to be this out , let me be that outside influence that's still somewhere inside . But I'm not taking sides . I'm not taking your side . I'm not taking your side . I'm going to listen to both sides and we're going to come to an agreement and we're going to figure out what needs to happen , you know .

And so we still have that great moment of leadership for Robin onto that too . But this one , Tara stays with the group for a little bit . She stays for a good couple of episodes , she stays for the next episode with winner take all . This one was a very I like this one . This one was just a funny episode to me . I did too .

This one was just a funny episode , Like Robin versus Cyborg and Beast Boy . I'll be honest with you , this was . You thought Robin was badass , but bruh , you was really like Batman train .

She make a cameo but still like as far as like the show flows going , it's like she got out again she , then episode 10 . Now it's about her again Episode 11 . She leaves , she's gone , and then episode 12 and 13 . She's back again 13 .

You like I can't come out , man , I um , I um , my dog stubbed they toe .

But Robin could take the motherfuckers down and beat me , but he doesn't , because he loves them , he cares for them . That's it , for this . Episode was just pretty simple and of course you want to have a little moment with starfire and Raven trying to really help them out and going through these little crazy shit , trying to figure stuff out .

They could try to save the boys , but then all of a sudden , the boys finally come back and like where were you ? We tried to save . What happened to like you don't even want to know . We'll just announce .

If Raven ever decides to cut loose , y'all all fucked like straight up .

She and Beast Boy are starting to have a really good romance together and then Slade reminds her hey , don't forget , you got a mission to do . And then she winds up weakening the security system and winds up leaving again , where they find out that she wanted to betray them again . It's just , this episode just had a slow bill to just heartbreak .

That's that's what this whole episode was just about . Yeah , it was just like all right

. And it's one of those ones again that Tara still doubted herself that much , and that's one of those ones that still like , stockholm syndrome is a real shit , bro . Like also real , it's a real shit . It's a fucked up thing because , literally , the Titans treated her significantly better than Slade does and she still went back to him . She still went back .

The only thing you can do is be the best influence that you can be , but you can't make the decision for them . Only they can .

Now , fractured , I like this one because we want them getting a chance to talk about more of some comic book canon where we don't want one thing to understand , is that the first we get understanding of the special magical realm from a whole different dimension , um , miscalculate splits , which is Superman's ?

shapes it differently and it's constantly changing , so they're always bored because they have full control of their reality . So they would pop over to various different earth dimensions in control realities there .

So now we want to introduce to Robbins personality , because it starts off with um Robin having this motorcycle battle with Johnny Ransett and Robin makes a mistake . It was a simple mistake , but he beats himself up for it because not only was it a bad mess , not only was it a mistake that had the villain go away .

Robin fucked his arm up like horribly , had to put his arm in the cast and honestly , I got to go back and watch this and watch this episode with my kids . Like I'm going to skip ahead a little bit and skip to this episode . My kids actually happened to my own son .

He wound up breaking his arm and he was in the cast for a long time , so he always was upset about it , but it's one of the things . You can still do stuff , even in the cast . But understanding that Robbins counterpart shows up and he's like Robin , you're supposed to be out there , and he's like I can't , my arm's broken .

He's like I can fix it , but he can't control his own magic reality , warping powers , and starts doing all types of other crazy shit , turns Robbins arm into tentacles and it's like rubber and he thought he fixed it and then it wound up being rubber and it was like well , it was like you became Luffy from one piece , robin , look at that .

But then it's like he eventually turns it back to normal . He's like just let it , we're just going to let it heal on his own and then they try to figure stuff out and try to have some type of fun if possible .

And I like how this one works because literally back kid from from the same reality that's Rob , that's , that's Batman's little magic reality , warper . Batman and back kid actually have a very good relationship .

Batman and Mitskelplix does not have a good relationship at all , like it's always Superman having to tell him to leave because niggas always focus shit up in the most horrible way possible for fun . However , batman's counterpart , back kid actually has . He has a good relationship with him .

When back kid shows up , batman does not treat him horribly or anything like that . It does not have to feel like he has to fight him or anything like that .

Not saying Superman ever treats miscoboits horribly , but still they always wound up getting along well , like back kid , because he's able to see Batman , how we see Batman , like in a comic , like being able to see and watch his life play out . So when he does want to talk to Batman , it's always in a good way .

So we introduced for this one Robbins counterpart and their relationship starts off kind of rocky but in the end Robin winds up becoming really good friends with his counterpart , just pretty much like how Batman became friends with back kid per se .

And so it winds up being that case of I don't know how to really say into this aspect , sometimes having , if you can recover well from trauma , you're able to be more open-minded to other people Right , and that's .

It's a weird jump that I'm saying into this aspect , but it's a real thing in that aspect because I've been able to witness this and also experience myself into that . Because , realistically , dick Grayson has trauma . This is still Dick Grayson . He still watched his parents die , he still managed to help get revenge and he spent years under Batman's wing .

And we know how Batman is . This wasn't the night . This isn't the Dick Grayson from 1962 Batman that was always jokie , joke shark , repellent .

He's been through some , but he's still able to find the good and so many different things into that and although he could wind up getting so upset with his counterpart , he winds up finding the good into it and it winds up using him , not really using him . That's one thing . I'm going to retract that back .

He winds up working alongside him to be able to finally get Johnny Ransy and then he then he finally gives Robin , gives him another chance to take a crack at healing his arm again , and he actually doesn't . He's like it's perfect , it's good as new and he's like thank you so much . And it's like I appreciate it .

And it's like it ends in such a wholesome episode because then there's also understanding dealing with someone with a very childlike mindset .

Being a parent , you know , I have children , obviously , and it's different dealing with children than it is dealing with somebody with a childlike mindset , because with children you expect them not to know better , you're helping them to learn , but when you have someone with a childlike mindset .

They're old enough to know better , but they still sometimes choose to not do the right thing . They still choose the most fucked up thing ever and you're like , why would you do that ? And a lot of times it is built upon different traumas and stuff .

Sometimes they choose that what makes them happier because something else may make them feel extremely horrible or make them feel extremely sad . And it's one of those things that understanding . When Robin got a chance to understand . Their understanding is counterparts how his counterpart lives on the other side . They even know it's counterpart can manipulate reality .

He's not . He wants to be a hero , but there's nothing he can really do out there In his world . You can't do anything except watch Robin . It's the only thing that makes him happy . There's a lot of different things to unpack into this and if I continue on we'll be here for a whole another hour . Anyway , we finally made it to our finale . Yeah .

But then , tara free , send their blog overload and plasmids from prison and with the help of Slay orchestrating things , he dispenses them throughout the city , try to create these like distractions and whatnot to take down the Titans . And this turns out to be a whole decoy to where let's divide the Titans and bring them out of hiding and destroy them one by one .

And it was one of those really tough episodes where it's like , yeah , for the first time in a while , the Titans got beat royally , but in part two the Titans seemly gone .

Slay takes over the city , he has Tara at his right hand , girl , and the Titans is like , okay , no , no , we're not going down easily and we're definitely going to make sure that Tara gets hers . So they only pay back on Tara for betraying them to join Slay . And it was like this the city was like real foggy , sleety , whatever you want to call it .

It got to a point where essentially they can like attack her in the midst of all the fog and shit and she's like really scared and confused and all that and they were like in the shadows scaring her and shit .

And even though she was getting beat , she ended up feeling broken inside more than ever and she started to regret everything that she'd done since her portrayal . She begs Beast Boy to finish her off before Slay takes full control of the situation , and that led to his own demise .

And in the end of all of this , tara ended up sacrificing herself to save the city and even though the Titans mourn for her friend , even especially Beast Boy , they're trying to find a way to bring her back .

But I want to say the irony behind this two-part season finale is how the whole point with Tara is that she's just trying to learn how to control her powers , but pretty much what we already explained . But essentially Slay got to a point where she's literally controlling her . So it's like saying that , oh , she's not really mastering her powers .

It's more like Slay is controlling her powers for her . So it's like saying like , oh well , since I don't know how to control my powers , I don't trust myself . Let me put all of my trust in this one guy and look how that turned out and you sit in the puppeteering .

Versus Tara , her power has her really in tune . She , if she controlled her powers more and actually was able to train with the titans , she will understand , like Tara from the comics is a little bit more in tune with the earth itself . That's what makes her power so great . Is that literally , if she trained , she's supposed to be fucking tall from ?

Now this is the opportune time and most fucked up time , of course to go ahead and mention is I mentioned in the comics how Slay and Tara really are in the comics . Oh no , wow . Put on some real shit , man . Stockholm syndrome is simple shit . Slay's a monster . Slayd Wilson is a monster .

Keeping in mind to this is the fact that his wife well , is the mother of his daughter passed away . Slayd trained his daughter to be a killer All the while . He was a very , very abusive father as well . He did not really care . He trained his daughter and she did not succeed and he left her . That was just what it is .

He already has a very horrible relationship with his daughter and , keeping that in mind , is the fact that he did the same thing to Tara and he wound up meeting her in the comics . And what wound up becoming a worse difference into this is the fact that when Slayd met Tara , what I think he was like 50 or 60 .

He had gray hair , he had a gray beard , not just gray hair , he had a gray beard and Tara was young . Tara was like she was 16 , if I'm correct , not even 18. , not even of legal age , 16 .

And Slayd raped her and used that to keep her in his care , in his clutches , and it was horrible and , if I'm correct , I think there was even a segment where she actually got pregnant , if I'm correct . But there's no real iteration where Slayd Wilson is a good person , except what was it ?

It was , yeah , it was a different earth where Slayd wound up becoming president of the United States in Crisis on Two Earths .

That Slayd Wilson is the only one that actually was a being , a good person , because that one he actually cares for his daughter and , like he actually actually loves and cares for his daughter , he didn't try to raise her to be to be an assassin or anything like that . He wasn't abusive to her or nothing like that .

That is the only iteration of a Slayd Wilson that is actually good . Every other iteration that I can think of in the comics is a horrible person . He's an absolute horrible person . Like completely he's abusive . He's always been abusive father and he's in multiple areas . He's been abusive to Tara and it's just horrible .

And you think what he does to Tara is bad in the show and you don't understand how toned down that shit really is . But then again you have to also understand that most of Slayd and Tara throughout the whole season is off screen . We don't see what happens . Tara just shows up and just does what Slayd says .

We don't know what he did to get her into submission . That's what makes it even scarier . They're trying to save Tara , but they don't know what really is going on . And then finally , tara , you know , she manages to break free .

She finally says I will not let you control me anymore and winds up killing Slayd Like that motherfucker was dead , like actually dead , and we were like about time to kill . This nigga Took two seasons .

It was scary , but it was a Majin move move that it was a Majin Vegeta move to actually work . Yeah , unfortunately . Yeah , because I'm going to build up a sack , build all that up , only be like , oh , it was pointless in the end . What's fucked up ? I was like , why do I do my boy Vegeta like that ?

But then again it reiterates how dangerous Majin Vegeta was . But anyway , but yes , she actually successfully killed Slade . He's actually gone , finally . He's actually dead , by his own apprentice , no less . I mean it was going to happen one way or another

. Yes , if I'm correct , then Beast Boy wound up finding her .

Because keep in mind of the turn of events in this one season alone , to where , technically , she was a double agent the whole time . So it could be said that what she really their friend in the first place and now that okay , after all , that you still want to be friends with me . I was like I don't know about that .

I think it'd be better we just go our separate ways . Because even though they like Tara , but the full picture of is that she was meant to be there as the destruction of the team Titans in the first place . So it's like saying it's kind of hard to even .

Well , in her eyes , it's hard to imagine that the Titans want to still have her in their life after everything she did . So it's more like she was playing it off like , oh , let's just pretend that I'm not the girl that you know , so that way it'll be easier for you to move on .
