CTV’s hit sitcom JANN stars iconic singer-songwriter Jann Arden as a fictionalized version of herself. It’s smartly written and brilliantly acted – somehow managing to be at once hilarious and profoundly moving – and it represents a “career achievement unlocked” for Vancouver screenwriter and showrunner Jennica Harper. Jennica has written and produced on The Order, Cardinal, Mr. Young, and Some Assembly Required, but JANN is her first time as showrunner, and the industry is taking notice; she was nominated for a whack of Canadian Screen Awards for her work on JANN, and recently won a screenwriting award from the Writers Guild of Canada.
