Attorneys for the Indianapolis doctor who provided an abortion for a 10-year-old rape victim have taken the “first step” towards filing defamation proceedings against Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita. Michael Peroutka, a neo-Confederate activist who’s refused to disavow a racist group to which he once belonged, has won the Republican nomination to be Maryland’s next attorney general. The House of Representatives on Tuesday passed a bill to codify the right to same-sex and interracial marriage in the wake of the Supreme Court’s reversal of Roe v. Wade.
