In the conclusion of this two-parter, Scully tries to fight for the life and care of her recently discovered daughter, Emily. Mulder joins her in San Diego and goes on a search for answers that could potentially save the child’s life, which leads him to a retirement home where elderly women are being used as birth mothers for alien-human hybrids.
