This is WWE Superstar Drew McIntyre and you're listening to the WWE podcast show.
The one that everybody wants.
Me sixteen, So that your ass is my eye, you're going to acknowledge me.
What is going on everybody? And welcome to another main event review. Thank you very much for tuning in once again. I just came back from a four day vacation. You guys call a vacation. I call it a holiday, same old I guess, but from Interstate in Tasmania, small little island off the shore of Australia. It's the little separate island at the bottom for those that don't know. Was there for four or five days, which is pretty nice. Hence the late main event review episode, but still another
episode to get through. Now that we've passed the SummerSlam review, we're back to normal proceedings. And before I probably start this, I want to address the obvious announcement of carrying a cross and scarlet not being renewed, or their contract's not being renewed for WWE. Looks as though that they're officially not going to be part of WWE, which to me is a massive blow and a shame, A lot of people are saying if this could be a work or not.
But my feeling towards this that it's not going to be. And the reason why I think the way that Cross announced it and what's happened with Our Truth, I don't think it's got the similar sort of storyline or sort of way it's been described, especially the fact that once Our Truth did get released, he didn't really address it on his social media as Cross did and a Scarlet did. So Yeah, it looked as though that he was getting a push, and people are saying that he didn't get
the push he deserved. He did end up getting a match of SummerSlam, which to me was a pretty decent push. I'm not sure if they were just trying to close him out with a SummerSlam match, or even if they had more plans for him that Cross probably wasn't happy about or whatever. They did sort of push him because he ended up being at SummerSlam, which is a massive event. But again, we're not going to really know the full
potential of carrying Cross. He never had a title around his belt, and I guess from what I've seen and what I've seen on YouTube and basically what he's been quoted. It does seem as though he's been getting a lot of support from other superstars, such as Our Truth, who've mentioned that he's got the fans's approval, which is bigger
than any title that could be one. So that's awesome, But yeah, it's going to be I guess a big loss for him not being there and not really seeing what he could have been as this new character that was supposedly getting pushed further with that Summer Stay match
and we didn't know what was next. He did say that he wanted to start a new faction that was rejected, so Cross did have some ideas, and I guess that's probably why they didn't come to an agreement, is that he wasn't able to really have a control on what he wanted to do or what he deemed best fit for himself and trying to kind of make it out of the industry to sort of get that sort of push that he deserved. And he did win the fans over,
and I think that's something that's really important. He won me over, especially with that promo post WrestleMania, and he got a lot of support from the universe, so maybe we'll see some we want Cross chance on raw and maybe it could be a work. That's probably what we're hoping for. But it really seems as though the chapter is going to be closed on Karen Cross's WDA career and whoever takes him, whether it's AW or an independent circuit,
they're going to do. Oh, they're going to have someone that's probably going to be a star of the company in my opinion, and who knows, you might come back to ww again after a few years if things work out in those other circuits, but we'll have to I guess, yeah, wait and see on that. But moving on, we'll go straight to the main event review. We have Chelsea Green getting on main Event, which where she had a large
pop from the crowd. A lot of people were getting behind her, and she took on BFAB again b Fab somehow getting a singles match on main event and obviously she loses. Chelsea Green gets the victory here. The fans went crazy and you could hear her kind of taunting and chaining and saying that they love her, and we really do. I'm a massive fan of Chelsea Green. I
love her character. I love that she's willing to sort of do anything it takes to get crowd heat and fan reactions and she comes off as this ditsy, dumb wrestler. But it works perfectly. And I wouldn't change her character. I't I wouldn't turn her into a babyface. I'd keep her how she is. Obviously, she's getting a lot of cheers from the crowd is because people really resent and relate to her character and know she's doing a really
good job there. And side note, for those that watch WWN reel, it does cover her story as well, and I've got some pretty different takes to it. I kind of do like the idea of ww Unreel. I really did enjoy the series. I like the idea that it really shows what wrestling is about and the work that's required.
And I think for existing wrestling fans, and obviously I'm going off topic here, but I wanted to bring this up for existing wrestling fans, it's obviously and I do understand why they would think that it's showing too much and it sort of kind of ruins the spark of
wrestling and what we love. But I sort of see the other side in that you want to attract new fans, and that's what WDWWD is trying to do, and I think the best way to sort of attract new fans is to really see what goes on behind the scenes and actually show what's real in wrestling, because a lot of the superstitions and a lot of what people say
is that wrestling is fake. And then when you see a documentary like this, you understand the work that goes into sort of what they do and realize that, no, it's not fake. It is a performance. But at the end of the day, most of the stuff that's done and the hard work and stuff that needs that you need to do to get there, the crazy storylines intricacies that go about it is crazy and I kind of I kind of like that, and I kind of like
that they covered that. But that's something that personally I really like is when you see sort of behind the scenes in what works. And I like it in sport documentaries as well. We see it in other series such as Quarterback and etc. So, without rambling too much, I love WWN Real And the reason why I brought it up is because Chelsea Green is on it and you really see her in real life, how she's like and how much she's willing to sort of give for the business,
which is resonated here. And also when we saw on SmackDown. I know it's not a SmackDown review, but when she had the cake in her face, like she's willing to do all those things, and that's why I love her and that's why a lot of fans love her too. So it's great to see that Chelsea Green is getting the victory and having more momentum going forward as well. We then had on Raw, Charlotte Flair and Alexiblisz come out to basically celebrate their tag team victory against Rakhal
and Roxanne of the Judgment Day. They come out demanding a rematch, which they get and they keep their titles, So not too much going on there. It was expected that they were going to keep the titles. I think this was to sort of close the Judgment Days chapter, which is probably something that will be good for Charlotte
Flair and Alexa Bliz. They're definitely elevating the women's tag team division already with their sort of relationship at the moment, and Charlotte Flair looks to finally have found herself as someone that is relaxed and enjoying her wrestling and enjoying the time has on the mic as well, which is
why I think the fans are enjoying her too. So I guess we'll continue to see how those two go eventually when they do split up, Hopefully it's not, like Matt has said in his reviews, to a point where they need to fight each other, because I don't think
that is necessary here. I think them splitting up is fine to go like mutually and respectfully as well, but it will be a good, enjoyable run with these two having the tag team titles, I think, and I think it is something that both these superstars need to sort of stay relevant as well as when they both come back. They didn't really seem to have anything significant, and even when you talk about Charlie Flair being significant, she was simply there to put Tiviny Stratton over. I think that
was the objective there. But for something that can propel her and really make her, I guess win the fans back and sort of get that babyface character back is I think that's something she truly wanted. This is perfect for her, and I think Alexa Bliss is really popular and that supports it as well, and it also gives
her something something to do too. We move on to the back to the Women's Intocontinental Championship sort of talks with Becky Lynch coming out and essentially pulling out a promo basically saying that her time with Lara's done and she needs a new challenge. And that's where Nicki Bala
comes in. So something refreshing here. They take heaps of shots at each other, but this promo we can talk about and review all we want, but it's always going to be remembered for the line that Becky Lynch mentioned about her being the greatest couple with Steph Rowlins in wrestling, and it could have been Nicki Balla because oh wait, that's what she mentioned. Well obviously we all knew what
she was talking about. And then she mentioned that I guess she can't see him anymore, which was just an unbelievable line to a point where if you look at the crowds reaction, there's one guy I kind of remember what he looked like that pretty much presented everyone in that line. It was an unbelievable promo from Becky Lynch, and I really think she torched Nicky Bella here. I think it's really hard to come back from that. Hopefully that was sort of rehearsed and Nicky Bella was aware
of it because it looked like she was stunned. But it was an excellent line from Becky Lynch, and I think this is probably going to set up a match between these two and Nicky Balla gets something to do against Becky Lynch, which is going to be a quite decent match, and I think a perfect match for where Nicki Bella should be at the moment, and also for Becky Lynch to sort of move on and continue feuds
with other superstars. And I thought that they were gonna put Lyra over here, but with this Nicki Blla element, I think it's the right decision what they've done, so I we'll look forward for that and maybe on Raw in the next episode, Nicki Bella comes back and puts out some decent shots firing forward. We then get the second main event match and that is the war Raiders taking on the LWO and we have the war Raiders
getting the victory here with their finisher. This tag team division is so underwhelming, like besides these two, the New Day and the Judgment Day, there isn't really much going on, and it's a shame because you see what's happening on SmackDown and how well that division's going, you kind of wish the same for Raw. It comes to a point where should they just unify the titles and then make the tag team division cross branded because there doesn't seem to be enough going on on Raw and the SmackDown
Division just looks a lot better at the moment. So it's something to think about, especially when it's the same four teams going at it and there isn't really much that's kind of being sorted. So I guess that's something
that probably have to consider. If it was up to me, I would definitely just have one tag team championship just because there's not enough divisions or not enough tag teams in the divisions I think to really sustain Raw unless they find under way to do what I guess Charlotte Flair and Alexi Blessed did and get two single stars and bring them together. Another one could be maybe bringing the USO's back and just getting them to win another tag team title too. I think that's the one that
makes sense there. And before I might add, SmackDown Division is getting better because they've got now Talatanga and Jason Matteo who are probably in contendership for the tag team titles on SmackDown too, So maybe one of those tag teams that are on SmackDown need to move to Raw to make this better, or again, as I mentioned, they need to do the same thing as they did with Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair, which is something that I've
mentioned before, because yeah, there's not really much going on, like who are the Judgment Day realistically going to battle the titles for Who's going to try to take him off? His New Day going to go back and have another
rematch and we're going to have two heels there. A lot of people are quite underwhelmed by the New Day's run, but I think that it would have been great for the New Day to hold the titles a little longer, so then we'll wa to really see in full force how they go as a tag team, being a heel tag team as well, Like we see them without the
titles them doing pretty decent job. But I think with the titles that they've proven to be a multi championship team, so why wouldn't they just keep the titles on the longer. I don't I don't get it, but again, it's what it is, and the Raw tag team division is is very down at the moment, and I think the war Raiders as they come back, is everyone going to be realistically excited to see the war Raiders battle the Judgment Day for like the eightieth time. So yeah, don't really
know what's going to happen there. We then move on to the final segment of Raw, which sort of starts with the start where La Knight comes in basically challenges Seth Rolins for the World Heavyweight Championship. Basically this is because he did beat Seth Rolins, although it was injury Russ on main event, Alley Knight is addressing that. So it's great to see La Knight in sort of those World Heavyweight Championship talks, and it's great to see him
on Raw. I really like him on Raw, and I really like that they're sort of pushing him and getting him involved in titles like this and in sort of feuds like this as well. Because on SmackDown, I think with Cody Rhodes being there and the main baby face, it makes sense for all a Night to do something
on Monday Night raw as well. He then gets himself into a match as mentioned, Alex Peers sets up the match and we have all A Knight take on Seth Rowlins, where we have seam Punk coming in and interrupting the match as well. So Seth Ranz gets the victory by dq l A. Night wasn't too happy with that. And then we had basically a brawl in the ring where we had Bronson Reed and bron Breaker come out, bron
Breaker with another mean spear. The way he sprinted to the apron to the ring was unreal when he first laid his eyes on Punk and just speared him crazily.
And then they get attacked and then we see Roman Reigns come out, who I think left it pretty late and he got out numbered as well, so he also got Brilliant attacked and Bronson Reed took his shoes again, so it seems as though they're running with this gimmick of Bronson Reed taking Ramon Rains's shoes, calling him the shoe Lafala and the tribal Thief, which I kind of like. It makes Bronson Reed look a bit more kind of
significant in this sort of faction. I think he's very secondary to bron Breaker, and this sort of puts him in the spotlight a little bit, not probably for the reasons that I think make him better than bron breaking seth Rons, but definitely make him do something significant in the faction. And I sort of liked the idea of him just stealing the shoes and whatnot, so that was pretty cool. But it was pretty funny that seth rowlans.
So Seampunk and Roman Reins had a bit of beef post match, where Seampunk told him it took him too long to get out, which which is so true, like why would Roman Reins wait for that long to come out where you literally have three of the of the of the of the Superstars, or three of the faction, the full faction ready to sort of embrace him and
not embrace him, but ready to attack him. He does do a decent job in defeating them, but then again it becomes a numbers game, and the numbers game become too strong, So it would have made sense if Romarins came out later. Maybe he wanted to see seeing punkket
peting up and do it himself. But they have advertised Raman Rains as the main kind of face of the billboard for Clash in Paris, So it looks as though that Roman Reigns will be at Clash in Paris for what match I don't know, could be for the title. We could have a fatal four way here. We have three of the big baby faces on Raw being able to sort of compete for the title. So we'll have to wait and see on that one and see what
really happens. So that's going to be super interesting. I'm keen for that, and that pretty much concludes the main event, So thank you very much for tuning into another episode, this one obviously being a quicker one given that we don't have the PL reviews, but I'm pretty sure that will come very much quicker then expected because we have the next PL at the end of August, Clash in Paris, which should be good. I don't know what to think
about it. It's really hard to be excited for a PL after a main one, so we'll have to see what happens then and how the storyline is set up. But it looks as though there's some new storylines too, which keeps things very interesting. But again, it's been your boy, Daniel, You've listened to another main event review and I'll catch you guys next week. Cheers.
