The one that Everybody wants.
Me sixteen, so that we your ass is mynd.
You're going to acknowledge me.
What is going on? Everybody? And welcome to this week's episode of the Main Event Review with your host Daniel and today we're going to be again reviewing the Main Event matches that occurred on this week's episode that aired in Scotland, as well as the raw and SmackDown footagees that have also been chucked into the Main Event taping as well. So once again, thank you for listening in and we are getting very close to us and Meani I say this every week, but as every week I
say it, it becomes closer and closer. We're only three weeks away now and boyer by am I excited for this year's WrestleMania, especially with the all the matches that are going to be I guess coming up and also what we're looking on with the road ahead and a few more promos to go on. We've seen Cody Rhodes and John Cena once again going head to head face to face and no punch is thrown this time, but again them going face to face and the same building
in Scotland. We also got the triple threat match between Rollins, Punk and Rains, which has just been confirmed. We still don't know what's going on with the favor we've seem Punk, so that's going to be extremely interesting to see. We don't know where Paul Hayman's allegiance allegiances are, but I guess we'll find that out as we get closer to
the road of WrestleMania. But we'll guest start the show with the first match of main event, where we had Dakota Kai taking on I've Know and the match finished with the GTK from Dakota Kai getting the victory here in what was a pretty decent match, back and forth action there with Dakota Kai getting the victory, and I suppose that that will mean she might have a say
in the Intercontinental Championship. Are Women's Intercontinental Championship sweepstakes ivan with low of Valkyia actually not having an opponent, so I'm not really sure if that's actually going to be
something for WrestleMania. What it's pretty disappointing is that obviously they've brought out the new titles, and they've wanted to obviously up the women's division by doing that, but there hasn't been any storylines that have got us really interested, really interested in it and like locked in because, to be honest, even back in SmackDown, we've got Zelena Vega kind of roaming around and everything, but it just doesn't seem that there's a road to WrestleMania for those two
titles where we can be really excited for those matches, which is which is pretty unfortunate given that this is going to be the first wrestleman that has these two titles, whether they're going to be in the match or not, but the road towards that being involved. So yeah, no no thoughts or no kind of really hints on what's going to happen with the titles there. I did see Bailey and Laura of Valkyria last week fight off live Morgan Rico Rodriguez, so maybe they're going to be in
a tag team. Maybe Bailey turns Hill, I'm not too sure. But Dakota Kai getting the victory against Ivy Nole basically yeah, it gives her momentum to potentially chase that title. But definitely rules out ivy now of of any chance of
getting the title. Now she's had multiple title opportunities and she's also lost to Dakota Kai twice, so it doesn't seem like they're they're going to put her in that Intercontinental Championship run, which is a bit disappointing because there doesn't There doesn't seem to be anything else really that ivy El can do at the moment, So it would have been great for her to come up and coming up against Laara Valkyria, especially being face versus heel, but again,
there's no real clear road to that title and a road to WrestleMania for Low of Alkia unfortunately, so we have to keep tracks on that as we still have three weeks to go, but you think at this point there would be rumblings of a potential storyline there. So it's pretty disappointing, and even the same in SmackDown with Chelsea Green not really having much with her as well. I know she's got this new secret Service thing going.
It's given Albefire a chance to actually be relevant in the ww again without being with with Ala Dawn in the past. Also, Albafayre, sorry so yeah, not really sure
what's going to happen with that either. So it's just yeah, as I mentioned, just a little bit of a rant on what they're going to really be doing with the women's titles or the mid card titles are going into WrestleMania is something that I want to see happen, but again, the cards are very stacked, so I can sort of understand why they haven't pushed it, but it's not really a good look considering that these titles are and they
should really be featured in WrestleMania. But moving on, we get to Raw, where we see John Cena come out. He pulls out a promo. Again he seems to be getting a lot of heat, which is great, and he comes up with something that makes that's a little bit interesting for me, but again it doesn't really make sense in the gram scheme of things. The fact that okay, he wants to ruin wrestling by taking away the belt
and being the last final champion that's happened before. We've ceampunk, but again, nothing really was significant that came out of that. WW can literally just put out a new belt and call that the WW champion Ship, and I don't really mind what John Cena is trying to do. I kind of understand, Okay, he's going to get his seventeenth and he's going to leave as the only real championship. It makes sense. But in a sense for him saying that if it ruins wrestling or not, it doesn't. It's not
going to ruin wrestling in the hindsight of things. They're just going to create another championship. But this kind of makes me feel as though, Okay, if he does win it at WrestleMania, he's obviously has to be here towards December when he finishes, So I doubt he's gonna ruin wrestling and keep the title and walk away with him. So in a sense, okay, we don't expect that, But then it kind of just ruins a bit of the surprise that we have for John Cena in this final run.
He's obviously not going to finish it as a champion with those comments, and if he does, I'm going to be very surprising if I'm honest, and we'll see how he quote unquotes was wrestling, but again, wasn't really a fan of that kind of I guess take and didn't really amount to anything. I guess with John Cena's He'll run there is an opportunity there to make a big story for him to get more heat and more booze,
which is why he's probably implemented this. But again, another similar promo to last week, and obviously this is trying to lead up to WrestleMania as well. We then get Cody Rhodes coming into the ring basically saying if you want to take it from the fans, you have to take it away from me first, and then calling him out saying we can do this right now. Obviously John Cena pulling back, and we yet to see them lay
hands on each other. Still, after I guess three weeks of since John Cena has turned hell and two appearances on Raw as well, I think we need The Rock to inject into this feud as well. We haven't seen the Rock at all. There's no news or any plans or announcements of him coming. That might be a good thing because he may just surprise us on a random show.
It'd be good if we just get that. But at the same time, we know why John Cena has turned heel per se, but we haven't gone into the other element of him selling he sold to the Rock, and that's something that we are yet to discover and I really want to see being like that story being told as to how John Cena has those interactions with The Rock and how they're kind of aligned together on this feud and on this road and on this battle with
Cody Rhoads. Because obviously you can see that they're trying to build up the tensions between Cody Rhoads and John Cena, but there is also the Rock that is a huge part to play in this. So that's also going to be something to look out for and I think something we need to see and we need to realize and understand why John Cena sold this Sold to the Rock
per se. Anyways, moving forward, we move on to staying on Raw with the Women's World Heavyweight Championship promo that came on with Adam Pierce basically going out to the ring to put an announcement that we get after three interruptions our first being Eo Sky, then being Bianco Ballet,
and then finally Rea Ripley. Adam Pierce basically confirms that rear Ripley will be defending the title, I mean getting a rematch against Eoskuy she'll be defending the title on next week's episode of Raw, which again was really weird because rear Ripley came out and then decided to not care about WrestleMania, say she doesn't care, but the week before she literally signed the contract saying she wanted to be part of WrestleMania, So that didn't really make sense.
It would have just been more understanding and we would have been related more if Rea Ripley was acting out a desperation of wanting to be part of WrestleMania. I get that she wants her title back, but a good point was made by Bianca saying like, if you just want your title and you don't care about WrestleMania, you can obviously just wait till after the WrestleMania match occurs.
And the fact that they're doing it before is very contradicting to what Rea Ripley has to say, and also, as mentioned, the signature being signed on the week before, so regardless of that they end up getting a match. It doesn't show here, but in the backstage they obviously Adam Pierce speaks to Bianco Bellet and basically and appoints
her as the special guest referee. So based on that something is going to happen to continue this triple threat, whether Bianco Bella decides to attack rear Ripley and the match gets disqualified and they all get on a bit of a brawl to basically confirm that triple threat, with Adam Pierce leaving no choice. After Adam Pierce did, I forgot to mention clear the ring out. We did see a few choreographed kind of scuffles between the three, which
was quite weird. I would have much preferred seeing what I saw them do backstage, them just beating the hell out of each other. It would have made a lot more sense. It just felt like they were just doing a bunch of super moves trying to probably prepare us for what's going to happen at WrestleMania. But it definitely didn't show that there was any tension between them, so which was a bit frustrating. It would have been nice to see them just beating the hell out of each other.
Maybe a security clear out, but again just a bit more violence or more tensions rather than just a few choreographed events there. I'm not going to talk too much about the Bianco bell Air Booze don't really have an opinion on that, but again, I think we'll leave that to everyone's interpretation and what people have said and thought.
But yeah, that's what I'll leave it at that, And moving on to the next which was back to main event or we did before that, actually have just a little bit of a teaser basically confirming that the three seth Rowlins, Romemanz and Siam Punk will be fighting at WrestleMania, and then a little bit of a teaser as to the promos that they were made and everything else, and
a little brawl there. So we get that triple threat matches I probably expected, but based on I guess what's happening, and with the favor and everything, we're going to find out whether it's going to be the main event or whether as I mentioned, the winner gets injected into a championship fight so on and so forth. So we'll have to wait and see. That's going to be really interesting. I'm very keen for that to be kind of revealed
when it does happen. Then we get we go back to the main event where we have Xavier Woods taking on a cure Tazawa and this is just crazy. I think when the new Day come out to that heat. You can see the fans really booing and hating them, and then the way that they came out with such aggression, staring down the kids and making them flinch, like Xavier Woods pretending to hit one of the fans, ripping the
signs and everything. Isn't it just crazy how we have John Cena, Covid Kingston's Zaviywoods as the New Day as both big heels right now. It's just it's just crazy how ww works like you would never have been able to picture one of them yet alone, both b heels ten years ago and getting massive heat along with the Rock too. But the Rock again has been a heel for a long time now, so that surprise element has gone.
We get the match there between Yeah, Curro Tazawa, which is yep, the new the main event Staples David Woods gets the victory here and it comes from Covie Kingston when curataz was about to do the sent on, distracting him Otis attempting to barge Covie Kingston froze into the steel steps and then a Curate Tazawa diving onto to
Kingston as well. And then once a Curate taza got into the ring, Zavie Woods hit a massive boot, which occurates as well, so it's extremely well doing two double flips and then finishing him off with the elbow there. That'll be great momentum for them. As I mentioned last week on RAW, I did see that they were going to claim a match with the war Raiders for the titles, So it seems as though that's going to be the next step for the New Day, which is something I
proudly expected and predicted. So let's see how their road to wrestle Mania goes. Will be great to see them fight for the champions championships, and I feel like they thoroughly deserve it, and I still think that they need those tag team titles to get their kind of heel run going and possibly reawake the world tag team titles as well, because as much as the war Raiders I respect and I really like them, they haven't really done much with the titles and it hasn't been a run
to remember per se. But if the New Day get it with their new heel gimmick and their heel run, I feel like they'll be able to open up that tag team division on RAW a lot more and also provide very good promos and some good potential feuds with our future tag teams as well, so we'll keep in track for their run as the WrestleMania comes closer to But again, a good victory for Woods shows that he can do a lot as a singles fighter as well, and I know he's with COVID Kingstons as well, but
there might be potential for him to hopefully get a singles championship as well for his sake and for his career as well. I think he's truly deserved to have a run, and a heel run wouldn't be the worst thing either for him as well. We then move on to Raw, where we get the main events of Monday
Night Raw, which was bron Breaker against Penta. We saw a pretty good back and forth match Breaker getting Penter with the Brakenstein, and as bron Breaker was about to spear Penter, we get the Judgment Day Carlito and Dom Mysteria coming out, getting up to their typical antiques, trying to distract bron Breaker and supposedly be helping Penter and taking him side, maybe as a ploy to get Penter into the judgment day, which was against Finn's request and
against his back. Dominique then tries to distract the referee while Carlitter comes into the ring. Bron Breaker throws him out, gives him a bit of a spear, and then as he's about to get his eyes back on Penta, we see Dominique Mysteria take his legs out and beat him up from the back, which caused a disqualification. As I also predicted last week, I didn't see any of these two losing this close to WrestleMania wouldn't have made any sense. However,
we do see a few chair shots from Domsterio. He then passes the chair to Penter Penter questioning what Dominiq Mysterio is doing. But it was great to see Penter grab the chair and kind of hype up the fans as to make him think for maybe one second that he would potentially hit bron Breaker. We all know that wasn't going to happen, but it was just cool how he hyped that up ended up hitting Dominique Mysterio, and then we did see Finn Bala come and attack Penta
and bron Breaker. He then almost threatened to hit dominic with the chair but pulled back in the last second, and again there seems to be tensions between those two as well, So it does look like, and it hasn't been confirmed that these four are going to be fighting
at Wressomania in a fatal four match. So I got three of the four right when I originally predicted aj Styles coming in instead of Penta, but when Penta did beat Kaiser, it did make sense for him to get involved in Intercontinental Championship kind of questions and a long line of this, So then four going to be battling out potentially, maybe there'll be some more things that will happen, but with Finnbala and Dominique Mysterira having their tensions, with
Penter not being to have the opportunity to actually win that title off bron Breaker, and yeah, I guess bron Breaker having problems with the Judgment Day too. We're looking to get a fatal four way there as well. It'll be interesting to see if they can actually perform a bit of promos between the four, maybe bron Breaker getting into Pentur a bit and then also getting into the Judgment Day. My worry is that bron Breaker doesn't get
the limelight in terms of kind of the storyline. He's just there because he's simply the title holder, but that might mean that he's obviously most likely going to keep his title post WrestleMania. But again, I think this feud is all about the Judgment Day imploding, Dominique Mysterior and Finnbala feuding, and also how Penta kind of gets his involvement in there with the request of him trying to join but obviously rejecting that by hitting Dominic with the
steel chair, and the Judgment Day. Yeah, getting involved as they are so again going to be interesting. That is going to be something that we have to look for in the future. Whether they're confirmed the Fade or four Way or not, we'll have to wait and see. They'll probably talk about it, most likely on Raw. But again, with everything that's happening, I just want to mention how underwhelming again the Juso run is. We don't see anything
on main event today. It's just crazy how a lot of these other matches are obviously the higher priority too. And without spoiling out, I know usually main Event goes behind one week, but essentially because of that, SmackDown usually gets published the day before this main event episode comes out.
So basically the events that happened on SmackDown confirmed that they're going to get the Night one main event, and I did kind of mention this at the very start when Juso won the row rumble that not necessarily they will get to headline and be the main event show off a Night one. It was looking like that was going to be the case, but I think WW definitely backtracked on that, and that's hardly got to do with how underwhelming this run has been and it's extremely disappointing.
I think the way that they've done it is just been poor. And I don't think Jay Uso has helped as well because his mic work hasn't been the best. It's been good seeing Jimmy getting involved. You can see Jimmy is a lot more comfortable on the microphone and
he's definitely helping this few big times. So hopefully that slap kind of made this a bit more interesting because it was a big wax lab surprised how well Gunha actually took that, but again that's probably creating a little bit of heat, but that's nothing to do with what Jay has done. It's more to do with how Jimmy has kind of come in and sort of assisted this run.
So hopefully when they do fight, Ganha does something really bad to Jimmy to make this a bit more personal and maybe we can see a bit more of an interesting storyline. But for now that has been extremely dead and it's just a shame to see because it's really going to affect jay Uso and I think that because of that, he's already lost his main event match. But I think it also warrants Guntherha retaining the title too, but we'll have to wait and see what the decision
will be, and we still got three weeks left. So the reason why I'm talking about it is because I really do hope that this storyline can get a bit more interesting and it can get better because I am a big fan of Jusso. I really like the yeat movement. I really like how he connects with the fans, and I do like his story coming out as a singles superstar, being attacked Team Champion and being attacked him wrestler for his whole career. I really want to see him yeah
developed well. And I also want Guntha to have a memorable Championship run, not just versing superstars that he dominates and he underwhelms and I don't want this run to end with him losing it because I don't think it's fair on him. I don't think it really is his fault.
He is deserving of a long championship run, and he is also deserving of versing opponents that are of high status to where you might think he will lose the match and you might think that it's going to be a big challenge and him going over the top of that will be good. So yeah, keeping track for those. But again, this has been another main event review. I'll be back again next week to review what's going on.
Not really too much to discuss this week. I feel like next week is where things are going to ramp up a lot more. This week was pretty similar to last week, and now going back to the United States, I think, as I said, it's going to ramp up a bit more and we're going to see the cards shaping up and finally going to get confirmed all the matches that's gonna happen at WrestleMania, and I'm extremely excited for that because we are three weeks away. So again,
thank you guys for tuning in. Also going to say it one more time, bologies again, but don't forget to tune into my own podcast where I talk about sports beyond the game. It's called The Huddle Within, and yeah, be sure to check that out as well. But without further I hope you guys have a lovely week and weekend and I will catch you guys next week. Cheers.
