NXT Review: Great American Bash Week 1

And yeah, so they come out really going. They've got the grills going, with some fake food on a picnic table. They're already for the Great American Bash. And they start off if a Ladies tag title match. Now, of course they got to bring you know, Roxanne on for a little bit, you know, get a little Tony d in the family, little kind of prelude to what is about to happen there, and then you know, Oba is gonna show up there in outstage Tony, so eventually we will

hear something on down the road about that. But they're gonna go in to a Ladies Tag Team title match, which is gonna be Sorry, Miss Jackson, I can't even do it. I shouldn't even try to be Miss Jackson and lash Legend with metaphor. Uh yeah, going against the Ladies Chance Champs a nuts Aila and Alba, the Ladies Champs and you know, the Ladies Champs. They're an unholy

reunion from what I hear. But in the Ladies Champs come out and jump on Miss Legend and Miss Jackson immediately, and you know, the match kind of goes kind of the way you would expect it to. You know, nothing, nothing bad. The mattress pretty good. Can't complain. I'm so sorry. I love it when everyone wants to contact you in that little bit of time that you don't want to be contacted. But anyway, yes, the match goes like you would apparently think. You know, the champs look good. Miss

Jackson and Miss Legend, you know, they do great. But eventually eventually they have to unleash the beast in Miss lash Legend and she has look, she sells, she lets everybody whoop on her, and she does all of that. She's doing what she's supposed to do. But when are they gonna unleash the beast? Because that woman, when she puts together some offensive moves, it looks fantastic. There is no doubt my mind that if they let her go at it, that she can be a formidable opponent to

anybody they put her up to. I mean, the size alone is one thing, but she can move in that ring. Man, she does a great job. Even like I said, even when she's selling, she makes I mean that's the whole point of selling. You make the other person look good, you get them over. And man, does she not do that. I mean, come on, just when they let her get that little bit of offense, it's like, bam. She when they say she could clear a ballroom, you know, she might could clear a bar room. I mean, I'm not

saying that she couldn't. You know? She does really really good. Of course, the champs are gonna win this match. You know, they're already setting up the champs on other PPLs, so you know how that's gonna go. So, yeah, the champs do win it. But you know miss Jackson, the last legend. They put up a good fight, all right. You know when an old EP comes out, Old Ethan Page, all eagle, he comes out, and of course he has to start up a little something with aura or mensa, and you

know the whole gig on that. Whenever you see somebody constantly getting over on someone when the match actually counts, it's gonna go reverse. So they've let Ethan Page, They've let Oora have fun and do the pen on EP there for a while one two, three, uh and uh yeah, so he's agitated and uh so we'll see how that goes on down the road. But uh yeah, then you got old Cedric Alexander. You know he's trying to you know, trying to give a little philosophy and a little education,

little wisdom out to the locker room. And uh you know, you got Sewn Spears that shows up, and well you know he ain't too happy about that, and uh so that's you know where that's going. But before that, you know Brooks Jensen come out and defend Shawn Spears. So that sets up for a match a little bit later. And after that you've got the new Quata Catch Crew

with Charlie Dempsey and the boys. But they got Tayvon uh you know, the Olympian Uh, you know, talking about Tony D. You know, he's saying that he's done it all, he's seen it all. No big crowd's gonna bother him, no pressure or anything. He's been there, done that. So we'll see how that goes with Tony D. But after

that you got Hank and Tank. We got Tank with a really cool jacket, might I add, But old Tank, he's not a little interviewing and you know, he's interviewing Tony D and the family, and you know, Tony tells it like it is and says what he's gonna do, it does what he says and all that good stuff. But after that is a little surprising. We finally get to hear mister Pete done and uh, Pete, Pete does it good. He's he's young, and he's uh, he's bitter.

And as far as Trick, you know, you know, he doesn't get it and now just uh, Trick will have to figure it out. Like he said, Pete said that he did. Uh. So you know, I can see a little something something on down the road with Pete Dunn and uh and Trick whooped Trick. I can see it on down the road. So but then they go to the match of Tavion with no quarter catch crew going against a toy d in the family, you know, and you know they come out there, you know, the first round.

You know, it's a sixth round deal, first one to get two wins, you know, and the first round they're kind of dancing around, you know, dancing with my sad but yeah, you know, kind of going around and kind of even you know, nobody gets anything. But you know, the second round, uh, you know, a little mess up there and uh Tavian gets his arm messed up a little bit, and of course Tony, being the veteran that he is, he goes after the arm. Uh you know,

and uh you know that's the way it goes. Uh third round, you know, no no winners or anything here. We have third round, we get we get Wren coming in. Well Tony wins uh the second uh and then uh you know, uh Tavian comes on with a little uh pep talk from ren Saint player. Uh she slaps slaps him up side the head a few times, and uh hey he them shouting gets a win. So it's tied up one one. Uh, but you know it can only go so far. You know, Tavion wins in the fourth, I believe in the fifth.

gonna come out and talk about them. Why new script huh. But they got the ladies going back and forth. But then they go to Brooks Jensen going against mister Cedric Alexander, and Cedric at certain points has to slow down or has to kind of help Brooks because Brooks, you know, is not quite he has it in his head, he just ain't got it quite to his feet yet. But Cedric, being the veteran that he is, pulls them through and they you know, I mean, you know, he did Cedric

did the best he can. You know, this match is okay, you know said, of course is going to sell and do everything right. I mean, he's a veteran. He's what a pickup they got out of him and a couple of a chante and a couple of these other people. They are veterans. They're going to give you good matches, good blackout matches, just good solid pick up. But yeah, and this one, you know, said, makes Brooks look as

good as he can. And Brooks said, not trying to act like Brooks isn't doing his gig, didn't doing his thing. It's just it's not quite up to the level of mister Alexander. But he does what he can. And Brooks gets the push, so he gets the win. Uh yeah. And then okay, after that, you've got the young oh j you know in here talking about you know, they got some young pictures him with belts out there, talking about how when he was a kid, how he wanted

to be a WWE superstar. And tell you the truth, guys, that young man is on the way. He might be. Uh everybody's laugh when they call him bouncy. Yeah, Well, he's gonna bounce his way right to the bank. Uh. So I always got to do, is young man like that good looking kid. Always got to do is keep his head straight and he'll be just fine. Uh. But then they got this, uh you know, they got this MSK group there, these rascals. Now you know everybody, you know,

everybody seems to love him. So okay, you know, yeah, they're doing some comical stuff and kind of laying some cool lines down and everything. So uh, you know me, it is what it is. So wes Leia has found him, some got his partners back, the crew is back together, and the rascals are rascaling. I guess you I guess

you would say. But now we gotta get serious. Yeah, I'm gonna get serious because it's time for Joe Hendry because everybody believes in Joe Hendry and uh, you know, he's done a little concert tonight, you know, and it's uh, it's uh, it's not Elias, it's not Jeff Jarrett and Rode Dog out there. You know. Uh you know, he's you know, you know, it's you know, I'm not saying

I believe yet, but uh, hey, it's Joe Hendry. Uh, he and he puts together a comical little song, you know, somebody wrote a good little gig there, and he gets to kind of make fun of a Gallas and uh even compares one to Dutch mantel, and look, I gotta say, if you can work it into a song to where you compare yourself with Dutch mentel, which I love me some Dutch. I'm my Memphis mark og. I grew up at the Mid South Colisseum saying Dutch man telling these

guys raight it every week. So nothing but a fan of Dutch. But I look, if you can you can break old Dutch into a song, God bless you. But yeah, brooks hen you know, or Joe Dry brooks Indry. Joe Hendry pulls out a concert and then the Gallas guys got to come in and ruin everything. Yeah, the old Gallas guys. Yeah, they come in and of course they pull a Jeff Jared on him and break the guitar across his back, which does not favor Joe Hendry. He doesn't believe in that, so yeah, yeah, he does not

like that stuff. So uh, then after that you've got Ethan Paige, oh to E p and Ava and Aura trying to sign a contract and you know, or does okay. You know, I can't say anything bad, and Ethan does okay, And then of course you've got Ava, they all wise and all knowing. She you know, then you've got Aura, and then you've got you know, Edanvade. So they pull it off. Okay, it's you know, Uh, we'll see because

they are going for the title next week. Uh. And then after that you've got Kendall Gray with Charlie Bright. I believe it is on the outside going against Jada Parker with outm coctor mud. Uh, but they don't they don't because they get mud on their shoes. They don't come out to the ring. But anyway, Jada, uh does you know what she's supposed to do in this match

and win it? But I gotta say I was pleasantly surprised at Kendall Gray, this young lady like her and Jada or Nil you know, prodigies soccer and soccer, and I can't remember what Kendall was exactly, But anyway, they're both exceptional athletes outside of the ring. But Jada is getting to push so she gets the wind. But I got to say, I haven't seen a whole line out of Kendall Gray that even a warning didn't warranted me

knowing her name. You know, you know, thirty five years in the restaurant nightclub business, if you didn't work for me for over thirty days, at least I didn't even bother to learn your name. So in this one, I hadn't really paid a lot of attention to miss Gray, but I got to say, hey, hey, miss Gray, she's a future star, needs more ring time and everything. But she has very big flashes of brilliance in there, so and it looks easy to her. So we will see

on down the road. But in this particular match, Jada Parker against the Wind. Yeah, and then after that you've got well, they had Matt Bourne and were in Saint Clair and they all come out and got in the room to make up this whole gumbo. But Jada does get the Wind. And then you've got THEA and Riley Arthea and Riley and Chase Hu and everything and Ridge. And Ridge is explaining the THEA that you got to do whatever it takes, and I'm not sure if Andre

Chase agrees with that. Yeah, then after that you've got Axiom and Nathan and Nathan they're over their tag champs or over there talking to l W and mister Stone and Stevie come over and present a contract and Axiom signs it and Nathan's not sure if he's ready to sign it, and so they have a confrontation. So there's words. So this is all leading up to a split on speed, but we haven't got there yet. Uh yeah. And from

there we've got a six women woman's tag. You've got Jasmine and j C. Jane and Valen Henry going against Carmen and Lola and Soul Ruka, you know, kind of an unusual pairing with Lola, and you know they do there before getting into the ring annex and you know, they pay homage to everyone, so you know, kind of a you know, a good little start to the match, you know, and the ladies come out as far as Carmen and Lola and Soul, they come out working together

and everything. But somebody this group's got to be the one that takes the butt whooping. And apparently they voted Carmen, they voted her to take the most of the butt whooping in this match. But and you know Jasmine, you know that she has flashes JC Jane. She she and Lola have a stretch to where they are going back and forth, and they look fantastic working with each other. Both. Their timing is good. It doesn't look choreographed. Everything is

just spot on, very good. Little about a two minute spot there, but you know, and then Carmen and Soeul to tell you the truth, they look fantastic when they're together at certain times. So you know, hey, is it a tag team on down the road? We all down a roll about half a mile anyway, I mean, who knows, you know what they'll do in the future. But they looked great together, so good much. But the good guys

don't always win, folks, you know. And in this one it is a valin of j. C. Jane and Jasmine that are going to pick up the win, with Carmen getting pinned there leave by Vallin. But I can't really remember if stop my head. But anyway, there, you know, pretty good match.

he knows that people believe in him. But apparently Joe Hendry is a little ticked off and he's Scottish and he doesn't like other Scottish people that tick him off. So next week he'll be finding everybody that's Scottish, which happens to be the Gallas guys, you know, and you know we're gonna have a little fun little Shenanigan's going

on there. So yeah, uh, then you know you've got the last match though, You've got THEA and Rock sand going against each other, and they've really promoted THEA in this and really tried to make her in the Horn Anderson type uh in this match. But uh, you know,

Roxanne and and her have a pretty decent match. I can't say, you know, not a good match, but you've got some outside distractions you know that you know calls a little a little distraction which allows Rock Sande to h to get the pop Rocks and uh and get the win, and you kind of go off her. Uh, you know after Joe Hendry there, you got thea before that being real sad with Chase you so, you know,

overall in this show, you know, not so bad. You know, you didn't have any trick siting really but a quick little spot. So they're probably promoing him out somewhere, you know. So we'll see where they go from here and everything. But I tell you, I tell you, I tell you. Every week I keep getting the TNA questions. And Joe Hendry mentioned TNA in his song, you know, so they're openly saying the words TNA, which I don't think would have ever happened in uh, you know, the Big Kahunah's

Reign of terror. You know, I shouldn't say it like that. The man was a genius. But yeah, we'll see where this goes in the future. But yeah, TNA the crossover or is it the crossover to TNA That is left to be determined, folks. That's the way it is on July there is, folks. That's that's the way it is, as as Walter Kronkit there. But all right, let me see if I've got anything on my note. You know,

of course, you know, survivors here. You've just you've got a great weekend coming up Saturday with the big PPL. Next week, we've got the other side of the Great American Bash showing up. Big matches all over the place, Cody the bloodline, you know, Drew and see him punk, you know, just good matches all over the place. And what are they going to do now that the Cree brothers are with, you know, with with their guy over there. Are they finally going to get the push? You know?

Are they gonna you know, whoop on otis and you know whoop on these guys for a while and then get a chance to get some big matches. I don't know. We'll just have to wait and see. But I guess that's gonna be it. Coming here from Mullett Manor, I don't think I have anything, No, no, no, there's a bird looking at me and he doesn't look happy. So I guess that is about all the time we have here. Whenever the wildlife looks such a funny, it's time to go. But anyway, guys, you know the way we close it

every week.
