Maybe are you excited about today's episode? You know, Elliott, if my goggles tennis racket, powdered wig and space suit, don't say I'm excited. I don't know what does oh? I get it? You're dressed up like one of our famous figures from today. It's uh that famous person is kay space suit powdered wig. Yeah, okay, it's a tennis racket. You know what? Why don't you just tell me? I don't want to speak for you be rude of me? No, no, go ahead, you were doing great. No, I insist after you.

I forgot to prepare an episode for today, me too. Okay, that is a relief. I guess it all boils down to some confusion about who's in charge of this week's game. Yeah, we got mixed up, you know. I guess that's what comes from having an elephant as an assistant. It's all right, Geraldine, We're not mad much. But what are we going to do for today's episode? That's a great idea, j Alden. We'll do a best of true and false super cut episode so we can get the maximum amount of facts

in a minimum amount of time. Love it. That's why we have an elephant for an assistant. And this also means that Be you can go ahead and change out of that space suit. Oh okay, Beat, you were in a full suit of armor underneath that space suit. I wanted to be prepared for anything. Oh boy, Eric, please play the theme song. What do you think you know

about the rates? The game is on? To get some energy and buckle up your brain, because it's time to play thet podcast, Because it's time to play books who live from tongue Bland or so called so Cowed Los Angeles? It's who was? The history quiz show that for today only has one question true or false. I'm your announcer, b and Be leave it or not. We forgot to prepare show for today. Here to take full responsibility the man who keeps chew a bile aspirin in his penny loafers,

it's Elliott Kalen. Thank you Be, and you're right. I will take full responsibility for your mix up with this episode. My goodness, it feels strange to do this without our audience. You know, I can't tell the difference. As my ex roommate once said, Be you are always on and it's driving me up the wall. Oh that reminds me, I gotta get him his deposit back, and that reminds me to let our listening audience know that today's episode is a collection of one of our favorite games, true or

false true, false, a false? It was a true? It is a truth that it is false? It was true or true? True? Horror false? Boy do I love that theme song. The rules for true or false are simple, B or a special guest will the statement about a famous figure. Our contestants will then let us know if that statement is true or false false. You guessed it. Yeah. Up First is a segment from our episode about the candy maker Milton Hershey with our two seriously sweet contestants,

Tobb and Page Eric. Roll that game right, and let's find it out more in the next game. True or false true false, false, false, it is the true? Is the truth that it is false? False? It was true? Or true? True or false? I love that song. That's an amazing song. Okay, don't though about the song, although it is amazing. B. You're gonna read a series of statements to our fine contestants, and contestants you're going to take turns telling us whether they are true or false.

Will tell you whose turn it is, and then you'll tell us if it's true or false. So take it away, be all right. The first question is for Tom Tom. True or false. Milton started out as a care amel maker, but he had to shift his focus to chocolate because he couldn't handle the fights that broke out between the people who called it caramel versus garamel. Is this true or false? I'd say that it's half true because Milton was a caramel maker, but France is not why he stopped.

You've got We tried to trick you, and you've got us. You've got us amazingly. Yes it is. We're gonna say false, but it's half true half false. He started out making caramels, but he moved on to chocolate because at the time chocolate was an expensive treat only wealthy people could have, and he wanted to bring it to everybody. So we've got a question now for page page True or false.

The town of Hershey, Pennsylvania, was first constructed with early versions of chocolate bars Milton created in the basement that were rock hard, waterproof and filled with horse radish. True or false. Yes, you're right, it was false. Hershey, Pennsylvania it's a real town at Milton hershe founded it. It's not made out of chocolate. He created the town so the employees at his factory would have a nice place to live. And you could say it was made out

of the respect he had for his community. But luckily not chocolate, because it would have melted in the summer. Welking. Yeah, and you don't want to live in a house that's melting. No, not again. You do that once. It's enough. I remember when you invited me over your peanut butter house. That was a mistake. Yeah, okay, be next question. Alright, this one is for Tom True or false Hershey single handedly won both world wars. That is false. It is false.

Though Milton Hershey did send chocolate bars to the soldiers and care packages to give him a reminder of home. He did not single handedly step in and make the world safe for democracy. Oh that's sweet. Uh, what a delicious memory. What episode are we listening to next? Be up next? We're listening back to our true or false segment all about the artist Freda Callo with our surreally great contestants Louisa and Watson. Oh this one is priceless. Let's hear it. In fact, let's get to know a

little bit more about Frida with our first game. That's right, it's true and or false? True? False? Just a false? A false? That was the true? Is the truth is false? Is it false that it was true? Or true? True? Poor? False? Thank you, Eric. I'm a big fan of a true or false song. It's a great song for this game. Okay, here are the rules. Our friend b you've met her. We'll read a statement you well, then let us know if that statement is true or false. Take it away.

Be thank you, all right, Louisa, This first question is for you. True or false. The pop singer Pink named herself Pink after she was inspired by a visit to Freda Carllo's childhood home, which was painted a flamingo shade of pink. Is that statement true or false? False? That's right, it is false. Frieda Callo's home in the koyak In the neighborhood of Mexico City, which she lived most of her life, and was painted blue, not pink. It was

called Lacasa Azul, which means the blue House. Not that imaginative. I would have named the house free a go. Next question, be okay, Watkins, This question is for you true or false? Before Frieda could speak, she indicated that she wanted to be an artist by using a paint brush as a pacifier. False. That's right, it was false. Freed didn't want to be an artist when she was a kid. Freda wanted to be a doctor when she was younger. Disclaimer, this is just for all the parents out there. Do not give

babies paint brushions. The last time that happened, we ended up with the Impressionists, so be careful. It's a modern artist, belie anyway. Next question, be all right, Louisa, this one's for you. True or false. Frieda Callo is best known for herself portraits. Is that true or false? Lisa? That's true. True. You're right, she didn't invent the self portrait, but Freed to Carlo took it to the next level. Yeah. I like to think that Frieda had the original selfie stick,

which was her paint brush. Very well said her portraits like wounded deer roots or self portrait with thorn necklace on hummingbird are masterpieces. And that painting we mentioned earlier, estimated at thirty million dollars, diego Eo is also a self portrait we'd show you what they look like, but this is a podcast. We cannot show you things. There's nothing to look at. Do yourself a favor. Google some of those paintings. They're beautiful. Oh yeah, true true, true true.

Oh wow, that episode was a tray, b B. I think you're confused. Fred to Carlo was Mexican and spoke Spanish, not French and spoke French. Am I confused? Or was I just preparing the listeners at home for the next segment, which is all about French underwater explorer Jacques Cousteau, featuring our contestants My low in August. You may be confused, but you're also very smooth. Let's hear that next game of tf A s A p oh. Geraldine says it will have to wait because we need to take a break.

But don't go anywhere because we'll be right back with more true or False super cut on the Who Was Podcast. Welcome back to the Who Was Podcast special True or False super Cut addition. Now let's get right back into it with our true and False game all about Jacques Cousteau, featuring our contestants Milo and August. First question is for Milo, take it away by Jacques would one day win Academy Awards, but his first film was recording his cousin's wedding? Is

this true or false? That is true? You're right, that is true. Jacque had an early love of filmmaking, and his first movie was actually his cousin's wedding. Jacquin on to have a great film career. Word if his cousin's marriage was as long or as illustrious, we can only hope. Next question is for you, Augustus. When it came to transportation, Jacques was a triple threat. He could get around just as well flying a plane, driving a fast car, or

captaining a boat. True or false? True, You're right, that's true. Jacques thought he might be from a pilot when he was younger, An injury prevented him from going pro. A swimming regime was prescribed to help him recover, which led to his amazing career in the exact opposite of the sky, the ocean. Next question is for Milo, be taken away the Jacques named his diving apparatus to scuba because he

developed it while diving off the coast of Cuba. So when people ask which country was responsible for his new suit, he'd answer a school to think that might be false as amazing as it would have been. You're right, it is false. That's true. That's correct. SCUBA actually stands for self contained underwater eathing Apparatus, which means I guess that the country Cuba's name stands for contained underwater breathing apparatus. That's just how I understand it. Yeah, we'll have to

fact check that. Yeah. Next question is for Augustus, True or false. Jacques had a hit documentary TV series called The Weird and Wacky Jackie that showed him playing pranks on fish, squid, and sea turtles. That's right, it was false. He had a TV show called The Undersea World of Jacques Pusteau that showed life underwater and helped people to understand why it was important to protect our oceans and seas.

He did not prank fish, although The Weird and Wacky Jackie definitely sounds like priss DGDV to me, I would watch it. How do you even prank the fish? True? True? Magnifique, Remember when Jacques Gusti visited us on that app via the Who Was app? Oh? That was super fun? And we have another guest Galileo, who joined us via the who was app But for his episode, he stuck around and quizzed our contest tense for true refalse you're right? And then he stuck around even longer after the show

and ate all the snacks and who was kitchen? But you'll get to hear Galileo's snack filled voice ask the questions to our contestants, Taz and Elliott in this next segment. Let's hear it. Galileo is going to ask our contestants a question and they're gonna let us know if it's true or false. This first one is for Elliott. Take it away, Gali, True or false. The time period in which I was born in Italy, it was referred to as the Crusades for people who are on a crusade

or a mission to make new developments in art and science. False. That's right, it's false. He was born during the Renaissance or rebirth because discovery was in the air. Other famous figures from this time include Michael Angelo and Shakespeare. The next question is fortas Galileo. Take it away. Well. When I was enrolled at the University of Pizza, Nicknack him was the puppy because I was such a teacher's man.

False correct, false Again. G D's nickname was the Wrangler because he would quarrel with professors and question everything in lengthy debate before he eventually got expelled from school. Also, I've got to assume he's wearing jeans, hence the name. Next question goes to Elliott. People call me the father of modern signs because I rigorously tested out my theories before presenting them in the system I developed called the scientific method that is still used today. True. That's right,

it's true. Before Galileo, scientists basically just made a lot of claims about the world without actually testing them out. Galileo basically made a career of saying um actually to Aristotle, who had many untested theories, like when Aristotle said that eels generated from mud. We know that's not true, right or is it not true? That sounds now that I think it might be true, I'm very frightened about rainy days. Okay. The next question is for taz okay Dat's listen closely.

After I discovered the hor moons of Jupiter, I originally named them but blossom bubbles and false. That is also false. Correct. I actually named them after the members of the media shape family in the hopes that the medicis would be his sponsor so that he could go on to do more research, which is exactly what happened. It worked out great, and eventually it didn't work out so great, but for a while it worked out great. And thus concludes true

or false. True true. That was wonderful. I do love it when our famous folks can stay on and quiz our contestants. Yeah, but for this next segment, it's probably best that they didn't. I mean, if our contestants Desmond or Nola got a question about Genghis Khan wrong, the outcome may not have been so nice. That is true. It is how many points did I get? No, b it's just a turn of phrase. You're not playing the game. False. I a playing the game and I get two thousand points.

Now let's do the next segment before Elliott has a chance to roll his eyes and disagree. I think now it's time to move on to our first game. It's called true or false? True or false? Is it false? Or is a true? Is the truth that it has? False? Or is it false that it was? True? Or true? True or false? Thank you, Eric, In this game, the will read a series of statements. You will tell us if the statement is true or false false. As you heard in the song, this is our first game, so

each question is worth one point. Desmond, you are up first. When Timogen, the young man who would someday grow up to be Genghis Khan, wanted to build a good relationship with todg Roll, leader of the powerful carry A tribe, Genghis actually re gifted a wedding present. Is this true or false? This is true? That's right, it's true. Timogen gave Todd Roll his black sable coach given to him

by his father in law as a adding present. Now, Timojin spent his youth poraging for food and making clothes out of mouse and dog skins, So giving togg Roll this very nice coat made a huge impression and they became official allies. And that's why I always give personally engraved blenders as wedding gifts. No re gifting unless they find somebody with the same exact name. That's the loophole. Okay, The next question is for Nola. It was the straw

that broke the camel's back. Genghis Khan had a falling out with his best friend Jamuka over Genghis being made to camp with sheep and goats instead of camels and horses. The two went from being besties to being arch rivals. Is this true or false? True? You're right, that's also true. After this incident, Jamuka and Genghis spent the rest of their lives battling each other. Ironically, you'd think the sheep would be the best animals to camp out next to.

Just count them and get a great night of sleep. Genghis Tria this time, Desmond, This next question is for you. After Temojin was named, Genghis Khan rual are of all the Mongol people's the Golden Khan, the ruler of China, proposed that the two Khans enter into a peaceful contract because teaming up meant they could keep those pesky vikings at bay. Is this true or false? That is false? You're right, it's very false. The Golden Khan demanded Genghis

Khan pledge subservience to him. Genghis Khan said, nuts to that. He said that the Mongola which took this meaning was the same, and he took a sixty five thousand Mongol army with him to conquer China, and he did. He won. Now that's what I call hashtag mongols Nola. This next question is for you. Genghis pioneered many new fighting techniques in his battle against the powerful Mohammad Too, Sultan of

the charsi Um Empire. He pioneered the Genghis goat, which is a lot like the Trojan horse, only it's a goat. Is this true or false? False? You're right, that's also very false. He pioneered the lake formation, for this rose of archers works together like waves on a lake, firing one volti of arrows after another. Genghis Khan's innovative fighting strategies were all named after things in nature, like the tumbleweed formation and the lightning advance. My pervert strategy is

the adorable chinchilla formation. Oh, what's the adorable chinchilla formation? You give your enemy an adorable chinchilla and then they're all like, oh, he's so adorable, he's so soft that I love them. And then and then you started chinchilla club and become friends and and that's the end of fighting. And it's also the end of the game, true, true,

horribul Well, that's our show for today. I hope our listeners felt like they got a lightning round of knowledge from this super cut of one of our favorite games. And I hope getting out of this night's armor will be easier than getting into it, because I really gotta be see you next time. Okay, looks like it's up to me to do the outro. Thanks for the support, Geraldine. Knowing you're behind me makes me believe I can do anything. Join us next week when we're back with a regular
