give him a home. And yes, for today, we're revisiting one of our favorite games from the Who Was Podcast. It's hashtag history, hashtag history, hashtag history, hashtag history, hashtag history. In this game, we read our contestants a hashtag they're famous person would have used during their lifetime if there was social media during that famous person's lifetime, and the

contestant will tell us what they were hash on about. Now, let's get right into it with our episode about Amelia Earhart and our contestants Amelia and Max take it away. Be okay, Max, this first question is for you. Our first hashtag is hashtag friendship goals. I think that is when she was talked to Netta. I think that's what her name was her friend when she first learned about flying. It's a very good guest, but unfortunately it's not what

we're looking forward this one. The friendship was actually the airplane Amelia took on that first flight across the Atlantic. Making it to the other side was definitely hashtag friendship goals, but nice try. Next question is for Amelia. Our next hashtag is hashtag now ninety nine problems. Okay, so was the name of the group that Amelia had formed, and the name was flopping from like eighty three to seven

and they finally settled on ninety nine. That's right. The ninety nine was the group of over two hundred female pilots that Amelia Heart became the president of. It's this organization helped female pilots find employment and community with other female pilots. That was great. Next question is for Max. This hashtag is hashtag all the single Ladies. I think that's when she turned down so many marriages from many

different guys. That's right. Amelia turned down several marriage proposals to focus on her career, which was not the thing that women were expected to do at the time. She later married her manager, George Putnam, but they both agreed that Amelia would put her career first. Take that, George, great answer. Max, next question is for Amilia Amelia. This hashtag is hashtag Snooky. Um. I think it was like

the name of her play or something. Oh sorry, That hashtag refers to Amelia's first flying teacher, Netta Snook, another pioneering female aviator. It's who Max was talking about earlier. By strange coincidence hashtag hashtag. Wow, that was great and less confusing than I thought it would be with two people named Amelia in the same room. Indeed, me too. How's that revision on the hashtag going to be? I'm still working on it. How about we listened to another

episode in the meantime. This is, after all a super cut. Let's listen back to our episode on one of my favorite authors, Jane Austen, with two of my favorite contestants, Charlie and Kaylee Charlie Europe. Hashtag all the single ladies was Jane referring to the fact that she a made each of her protagonists perform a solo dance at the climax of her story. Or B that she never gotten married or see that she only ever drank

single servings of teeth. Be she never got married. That's right. The answer is B. Jane Austen was proposed to but chose to remain single because she believed in marrying for love and not for money, and certainly not for likes on Instagram. But that's largely because social media hadn't been invented yet. If they had at the time, who knows, maybe should have got married for likes on Instagram. Okay, the next question is for Kylie. I guess learning isn't

the only thing that's contagious here hashtag going viral. Was Jane talking about a coming down with typhoid fever when she was in school? Be being very good at science? Or see One of her most beloved characters is named Lady Violet Rawl, whose nickname is viral. Uh. I think that's right. The answer is A. Jane and her sister of Cassandra, caught typhoid fever and had to leave the school they were attending. Jane didn't like the schools. This

might not have been the worst thing. But disclaimer for everyone listening at home, we do not recommend catching typhoid as a way to get out of school. There are easier ways to get out of school, like do really good at it and then you graduate. You don't have to go school anymore. Back to you, Charlie for the next question. Be the book is all about Jane's childhood or see. While it was the first book she sold, it was one of the last to be published. Um is the answer, C? That's right. The answer is C. The man who bought her first book refused to publish it, and it wasn't until she made enough money from her other novels that

she could afford to buy it back. And the final question is for you, Kylie. On my nineteenth birthday, Daddy brought me something to help me hashtag rise and grind hashtag blessed. The answer is, see both of those things. Jane's father thought she was talented enough to be able to make a living as a writer, a profession very few women were able to perform at that time. But whether you're a writer or a nun successfully comes down to maintaining good habits. Get it, have habits, get it. Charlie does not. It's okay if you don't. It's okay if you don't. The best answer to me would probably be a that's right. The answer is a young Clara, fresh off nursing for brother after a bad fall, helped take care of the children of her

town during a smallpox outbreak. She was only about thirteen at the time, but already showing signs of courage and ingenuity, as she would display throughout her life. Now was Clara talking about a her tuition fees for the college she went to being too high, be wage inequality at the schoolhouse she established, or see her father telling her battle stories from his military days. I think the answer is you got it right. The answer is being. Clara created Schoolhouse One, a free school in Boardentown, New Jersey. It was a huge success, but the board hired a male principle and paid him over

twice what they offered Clara. She was so disheartened she quit, but the incident didn't deter her from helping others. Was she talking about A asking President Hayes to legalize chocolate in America. B trying to get the US to convert to the metric system, or see

getting the US to join the first Geneva Convention. That's right. The answer is seeing. It took Clara over a decade and three presidents in office until the United States finally joins the Geneva Convention, a set of humanitarian rules that tells countries at war how to treat captured soldiers and enemy civilians, and pledged to establish the American Red Cross for disaster relief. Good answer. The next question is for Natalie, who can put a price on helping those in need?

his followers. Leonardo worked very hard on the painting, doing many sketches of it, and once he started painting, he paint from sunrise sunset without even stopping to eat or drink.
