Starting Over
It’s all gone! Over the last couple years this is a scene that has played itself out over and over again on the national and international news. Riots, floods, landslides, fires even tsunamis have been to blame, but those aren’t the only kinds of disasters we face. Divorce, job loss, financial setback are just some of the obstacles we will all face in our lives that make us feel like nothing will ever be the same. Maybe they won’t, ever be the same. That doesn’t mean that God isn’t still going t...
When There's Nothing on the Horizon
There is NO HOPE in sight! Have you ever been there? It is said, that when our hope is continuously put off, it actually makes our heart’s sick. I believe that, I have experienced it. Have you? Chances are you have. You may even be there now, or perhaps you have a friend who is. What can you do? How can you speak to a friend or loved one who may be there. How are we supposed to be towards God, when all hope seems lost?
When It Won't Stop Raining
Life can be overwhelming! Anyone who says otherwise just hasn’t experienced it YET! But they will. And when life feels out of control we make some assumptions about God. Either he has no ability to help, or he has no interest in helping me. I am convinced neither are true. What’s worse, entertaining these ideas, destroys any hope we have of a meaningful relationship with our creator. So how should we think when all of life feels, Underwater?

Fresh Start
A Fresh Start, that’s why Jesus came, took on humanity, lived perfectly, died on the Cross and was raised back to life. Was so that you and I could have a Fresh Start. There is a difference between a Fresh Start and a “Do-Over”. A Do-Over, leaves me locked in a moment. One moment that I try over and over to finally get right. A fresh start means that everything that happened before now, doesn’t matter anymore. That the millions of things that led up to this moment, this set of circumstances, thi...
Triumph or Defeat
Triumph or Defeat - Fresh Starts always come with new challenges (Holy week begins with triumphal entry and ends with Crucifixion).
You Can't Outlive God
God didn’t bless Solomon to make him wealthy, or famous, or powerful! He blessed him because he trusted what he would do with his wealth, influence, and wisdom. The more we demonstrate a right heart towards God and others, the more the Lord will trust us with His kingdom. What we consume - we lose. What we give away - GROWS. This is is a fundamental principle in God’s Kingdom.
Everyone Shared In The Work
Nehemiah allowed each man to work on the areas of the walls of Jerusalem that were most precious to him. This included the part attached to or the part adjacent to their homes. This unique ownership not only gave purpose to the work, but urgency. If each one of us will do everything we can in our part of the community and Kingdom, the work of the Lord would be done in record time - just like it was in the days of Nehemiah. Let’s start with prayer and then be willing to work to build and protect ...
Sin In The Camp
Joshua and the Israelites have just scored their great military victory of all time. And it has sent shock waves reverberating throughout the Promised Land. But immediately on the heels of this great victory they suffer a humiliating defeat and at the hands of a much smaller adversary. One step forward - two steps back. Do you ever feel that way? Sometimes it is through circumstance completely out of our control, but other times it is our fault. Sin and disobedience will stuff us - and God’s ble...
In Pursuit of God
Abraham left everything he knew and everyone he knew in search of God. God’s promise to him was, "I will lead you and bless you." In the NT He says, "I will never leave you or forsake you." We don’t have to understand everything in life or in God’s kingdom. God wants us to be willing to take leaps of faith in the fulfillment of our lives with him. When someone is willing to do that in the Bible, every time their lives were forever marked and changed and God used them to mark and change their gen...
Holding Nothing Back
David said, “this temple is not for mere mortals–it is for the LORD God himself.” The idea of doing something for God meant more to King David than anything else, and he was willing to give not only his life and service, but everything he owned to that end. David is called a man after God’s own heart. What would happen if we really gave ourselves, our careers, our resources, everything fully over to God?

Church
"Real. Different. Church." Has been our clarion call nearly since the inception of The Well. Our hope first and foremost was to have a Real, life giving, life changing relationship with Jesus Christ. Not as a function of religion, but out of a Real relationship. To be Different. It is easy to say you love people and value community, every church says that. It’s requires something Different to do all the hard work of it. The Church is called to be Christ in the world, not to invite the world to c...

Love Never Fails
Every year at Christmas kids are warned with stern tones, “You better watch out! You better not cry! Santa is coming to town!” The not-so-subtle implication is that if you are bad, you will get NO PRESENTS. As children, some of us test the limits of this lyric, only to find that Santa's benevolence seemed to have no bounds. This makes sense being that he is fashioned after the character of Christ, whose birth we celebrate on Christmas. What a beautiful picture then for us to celebrate - a Savior...
Get Your Hopes Up
The holidays are a natural time of hope and joy for many, but for others they are times of deep pain and remorse. Cultural wisdom says mitigate your enthusiasm, manage your expectations, and don’t get your hopes up. Jesus seemed to teach the opposite. That doesn’t mean you won’t be let down or disappointed, but rather the greatest weapon we have against living in a state of pain is a state of Hope. So this holiday season, let’s Get our hopes up and then live at the place of our highest hope....
Legacy Sunday
Paul said, “Our hearts ache, but we always have joy. We are poor, but we give spiritual riches to others. We own nothing, and yet we have everything.” Even in the midst of their pain and suffering they were looking to make a difference in the lives of others, through Jesus Christ. In fact, Paul saw his suffering as a gift, first to Jesus and then to those he was suffering for and with. This year we are taking the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others through sacrificially givin...

A Legacy Life
Solomon said the God set Eternity in the human heart. Meaning all of us know somewhere deep in our soul that life is more than the sum of the minutes we live. But too often life has the feel of diminishing returns. In other words, instead of feeling like more than the sum of it’s parts, it feels like less. It doesn’t have to be that way. We can live our lives in such a way where our lives outlive us. That’s the power of Legacy!

Relationships Without Regret
Near Earth’s equator, there is a zone where the prevailing trade winds of the northern and southern hemispheres converge, creating a phenomenon in which there is no wind — the doldrums. In the days of great mariners, if ships accidentally wandered into this zone, they may never leave — and the result was eventual death. Today, men and women still wander into areas of listlessness, and the results can be devastating. So this month, we’ll discover how to live in dead air, until we sense the Fresh ...
