In 2003 the year of The Matrix we got sequels in both Reloaded and Revolutions. But in addition to that there was also a direct to DVD anthology series in The Animatrix. In 1978 Marvel struck a deal with Japanese company the Toei Company licensing out their most popular characters. The result was Japanese Spider-Man (スパイダーマン) which was a huge success and ran for 41 episodes.
