Today's Forecast: Mid-Atlantic and Northeast

Hi , this is the meteorologist , steve Pelletier , and I am the weatherman . Thanks for checking into theweathermanpondcom on your Thursday . It is the 12th day of the month of June 2025 and some nice weather continues across the mid-Atlantic and northeast .

However , there's a frontal system approaching from the northwest that's going to bring in the possibility of some scattered showers and thunderstorms for the latter afternoon and evening hours from about central Pennsylvania eastward through much of New Jersey and into New York , long Island and southeastern Connecticut .

That areas of showers and thunderstorms will linger for a while this evening after generally dry , warm weather as temperatures get up into the upper 80s and lower 90s

Weekend Weather Outlook

for your Thursday . But as we head towards this upcoming weekend , friday still looking pretty good . But it's a southeast flow because of that frontal system around the area and with that southeast wind we do have the possibility of some showers and thunderstorms moving in later in the day and at night .

All that moisture now across the Dakotas and into Minnesota and Wisconsin . It'll travel along the frontal system that will be stationary just to our south during the daytime , our latter portion of Friday , saturday , sunday and even into early next week . So it does look like some unsettled weather coming in for the next several days After today .

Today we're looking at partly to mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the upper 80s and lower

Regional Travel Conditions

90s . If you're traveling today , it looks like showers and thunderstorms across Atlanta , Also maybe some showers in the afternoon and evening hours in Charlotte . Dry conditions in DC and Baltimore , but could be some late-day or evening thunderstorms .

In New York , laguardia , jfk , also generally dry weather , but north-northeast winds are expected around Boston and up into Portland . Maine Westward looks like some scattered showers and thunderstorms .

In Chicago Rainy weather in Minneapolis , st Paul , as mentioned , and over the southeast states looks like some late-day and evening thunderstorms , but a good portion of the time central and south Florida generally dry weather , but they're into their rainy season now and some late-day and evening thunderstorms

Tomorrow's Forecast Preview

are likely . Also looking at some rain in Houston and down to Fort Worth , not necessarily severe at this point . Dry conditions in LA , also in San Diego , up to San Francisco . Dry weather in Portland and also to the Seattle Tacoma area during the daytime today and it looks like generally dry weather for Friday into the early portion of the weekend .
