Catherine Baab-Muguira recently finished her book, "Poe for Your Problems: Uncommon Advice from History's Least Likely Self-Help Guru." Today, we talked about Edgar Allan Poe's life story, along with what life lessons we can all take from a man whose life was filled with disaster. 

Catherine's Bio: I grew up in South Carolina and Richmond, Virginia, a middle child in a big Catholic family. I majored in English at the University of South Carolina, and did an M.A. in Creative Writing at the University of Auckland, New Zealand. Now I live in Richmond with my husband and son.  

Catherine is a writer and journalist who has contributed to, among others, Slate, Quartz, CNBC and NBC News. She is a frequent podcast and radio guest, with appearances on shows like NPR and Lifehacker’s Upgrade.
