Speaker 1

We're going to talk about two things today, the appeasement of Senate Democrats to Donald Trump and the Quebec conference that's taking place, the G seven meeting in Quebec, Canada that Marco Rubio is attending. This is the warning. Let me start out today by reading from Politico, which gives an accurate description of what is going on within Well, I don't know what mind of Chuck Schumer. Now the White House is openly mocking and laughing at the weakness

and the ineptitude of Chuck Schumer. And before I say another word, last night with Stephen Beschloss, I had a couple of thousand people on a substack life and every single person in every comment scrolling through had but one overwhelming priority and concern, which was the immediate cessation of everything and anything that the unelected, unappointed, unconfirmed Elon Musk and his team of teenagers, the doge children of the corn are thrown out of the halls of government. That's

what the people want. They wanted to stop, that's what democratic constituencies want, and they want to know everything that has happened. Democrats have the power to make this happen because Donald Trump, who is the President, John Thune who is the Senate majority leader, and Mike Johnson, who is the Speaker of the House, need Democratic votes. Now, Chuck Schumer has a job that requires an ability to negotiate.

Anybody like me who's my age knows if they grew up in New Jersey, that Donald Trump is a clown and a commn that he's a demagogue, that he is the cleon, the demagogic leader that the founders prophesied and worried about, that has finally risen and taking control. But nobody ever viewed Donald Trump as a great deal maker. There is nobody what deals Dave McCormick, the new Senator from Pennsylvania, was the COO of Bridgewater Ray Dalyo's hedge fund.

What deals did Dave McCormick do with Trump? What deals did Jamie Morrigan do with Trump? Who did deals with Trump? Nobody? He is a reality television show store that has played a role, has manipulated the media, which was primarily his chief skill. Always Donald Trump had the best press agent in the world, John Barron. But the crisis of this moment is one of leadership and one of ineptitude. In

the opposition facing Donald Trump. Let me read from Politico a story that is astonishing by the chief Capitol Hill correspondent,

Rachel Bade. Senate Democrats haven't even surrendered yet on a government shutdown, but already White House officials are gloating about making them, etcro almost taunting them to vote no. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer threw down the gauntlet Wednesday, proclaiming that Republicans don't have the sixty votes, but President Donald Trump and senior White House officials are increasingly confident Schumer will release enough Centrist to put up the votes for passage.

According to multiple White House officials I spoke to over the last twenty four hours, they're one hundred percent going to swallow it. One White House of Fife official told me they're totally screwed. The confidence is especially noteworthy given that Schumer has yet to detail his plans. Many lawmakers in both parties are privately predicting that some sort of deal will be reached in which Senate Democrats get amendment votes in return for allowing the House pass Continuing Resolution

to advance and ultimately pass. Chuck Schumer again has made threats that are empty and hollow and meaningless, has been unable to construct a wall, an obstacle, or even so much of a speed bump. A few weeks ago, the man who well did this and we will win. We will win. We will win, We will win, we will win, We will win, said that his strategy would be to lay across the railroad track, and that appears to be exactly what is happening now. Within the Democratic Conference. There's

a divergence of opinion. Schumer can either communicate or lead. He's utterly weak, completely comically inact, and his presence as leader turns the entire Senate Democratic Conference into a joke. It will become clear in the months ahead what the cost of Schumer's leadership is when the Senate Democrats have no money. But the good news is all that means is Schumer has no control. There is no better year ever. If you're a normal person out there, a firefighter, a nurse,

a teacher, or a plumber. You ride a motorcycle, you like to go out on hikes in the mountains, you like to paint, You like to do the things that normal people do, not the sociopaths we have now, but good and decent people. This is your year. To run for office because there will be no safe seats anywhere in this country, at a Senate level or at a House level. But those races, per usual, will not be

top down affairs. They will be bottom up because the surrender Chuck Conference to all of this madness, or a group of weak need appeasers who simply want sheep to vote for Schumer so he can remain in power and they can remain in good stead with the person in power. If I, for example, was running for the US Senate in the state like New Hampshire, I would rather cut my hand off as a US Senator than vote for Chuck Schumer as majority leader. But that's a story for

a different day. There are good men in the US Senate like Mark Kelly who are wrong. They evaluate the situation and they say, wow, if we don't keep the government open, then Trump, and they're right about this, will have more power to damage the government because he'll have more discretion within the boundaries of the decision making that comes with a shutdown government. Senator Kelly is right about that.

He will have more power, but he will also break Donald Trump knows right now how all of this ends. He gets the Democratic votes that Chuck Schumer says he can't get and he'll do it without giving anything up, which will incentivize his worst instincts and conduct. And so Mark Kelly has to appreciate in this moment with respect, his oath is not to keep the government open. It's

to defend the constitution. And the threat to the constitution is elon Musk's presence within the government, and absent the application of pressure to make it stop right now inside this continuing resolution, then Democrats will abandon all leverage to make it stop and will then put themselves on the opposite side of their voters and an opposition movement. They will have to take to the streets. We'll have to protest,

We'll have to engage in civil disobedience. We'll have to escalate the situation everywhere at once to make it stop. That is the price of appeasement. And these are all acts of appeasement. There is no scenario other than in the mind of the appeasers where they will, in actuality over the duration of the stalemate and the conflict, be blamed.

Donald Trump will be blamed because Donald Trump as president, Donald Trump is the leader, the facto of the Senate and the House because there by thin margins his polop bureau rubber stamps everything he does, as Lindsey Graham said, and yet another series of principalists flipflops. I trust Trump, And so then Marco Rubio is off to Canada to the Quebec Conference where there were two at the creation of the international system that Rubio and Vance and Musk

and Trump are smashing. And Rubio, having just arrived, is now meeting with Canadian officials, the neighbor to the north that America is attacking and waging economic warfare against. Maybe it should occur to the Senate Democrats that disobscenity be part of the negotiation. Also maybe, but no. The appeasement is a philosophy that holds if I feed the crocodile,

he'll eat me last. It is a stupid philosophy, a dangerous one, and one that we are watching be practiced in plain sight by the people who should be stopping Trump as opposed to enabling him. And so, if you are an American and you are disgusted, I'll leave you with this question this morning. Why is it that the strongest toughest criticism of our nero came on the floor of the Senate of the French Republic, not on the

floor of the polyp Buro in Washington. They used to be known as the world's greatest deliberative body, but has become a shallow callo joke, destroyed in equal parts by the collaboration between the two old men Chuck Schumer and Mitch McConnell peas in a po god opposite images in the same mirror. This is the warning, and I'm Steve Schmidt. This is the warning. I invite you to join this community where I promise to be honest, blunt and direct

about what is happening in this country. America is in crisis. Follow and subscribe to this channel on YouTube and on substack. Thank you.
