Speaker 1

Sixty nine days to go, and we are in the dog days of some earth. The conventions are passed, Labor Day is ahead. The debate will be upon us soon. Who knows if Donald Trump will show up. This is the warning. More than two hundred and thirty Republican staffers aids who worked for President Bush, Senator McCain, and Senator Romney have endorsed the Democratic nominee, Kamala Harris. Why would so many Republicans do such a thing? And the answer

is two parts. The first is these people have all worked in government, in the executive branch and around the political campaigns that sought to elect the Republican candidate to the presidency. They have some comprehension about what is entailed in the job the duties. They are offended by Trump's obscenities.

They are deeply worried about the country's future. There has never been hundreds of people from the opposing party who worked in politics at the highest level of the campaigns on behalf of their party who have crossed over end mass to endorse the other party's nominee. Ever, except for four years ago, Donald Trump is the most unfit man to ever be president of the United States, and he

is the most unfit candidate in twenty twenty four. Now that Robert Kennedy has dropped out and joined the cause. What a strange and very bizarre man. And one of the most overlooked stories about the entire Kennedy endorsement is Kennedy's claim that Trump called him asking to form a unity government unity with what what create cause? Does Robert Kennedy suppose the represent What great banner is he carrying and who exactly is following him? Nobody? It's all insanity,

But the pile on continues. What Trump is adding is a circus of unfitness. He carries with him, this menagerie, the Star Wars creature cantina of American weirdos and political figures, right down to his pick Jay d Vance. He is somebody who is genuinely worried about a conspiracy of childless cat ladies.

Speaker 2

We're effectively run in this country via the Democrats, via our corporate oligarchs, by a bunch of childless cat ladies who are miserable at their own lives and the choices that they've made.

Speaker 1

He looks around the world. He doesn't see Vladimir Putin as a threat. He doesn't necessarily see the Chinese as a threat. It's childless cat ladies that are the great threat to our civilization. You're calling it a sarcastic comment, sure, and yet some women and you got the feedback in real time, felt like it was a gut punch to them personally.

Speaker 3

Do you regret making that comment?

Speaker 2

Look, I regret certainly that a lot of people took it the wrong way, and I certainly regret that the DNC and Kamala Harris lied about it.

Speaker 3

Do you regret what you said, Senator Christen.

Speaker 2

I'm going to say things from time to time that people disagree with.

Speaker 3

I'm a real person.

Speaker 2

I'm going to make jokes, I'm going to say things sarcastically, and I think that what's important is that we focus on the policy.

Speaker 3

There are certainly going to be things that I say.

Speaker 2

If I'm elected vice president, people are going to say, well, I wish you had said that differently. I think it's most important to actually be the person I actually am, and to say those sarcastic comments.

Speaker 3

Were made in the service of a real substantive point.

Speaker 2

This country has become too anti family, it's too expensive to afford a house.

Speaker 3

It's too expensive to afford groceries.

Speaker 2

Donald Trump and I want to change that, and unless we get better readership, we're not gonna But again.

Speaker 4

Just very quickly, given that people have told you directly, have spoken out, have said that they were offended, they were hurt by those comments.

Speaker 3

Do you wish you never made those childless cat lady comments.

Speaker 2

I think that it's much more important for me to just be a normal human being who sometimes says things.

Speaker 3

I disagree with.

Speaker 2

I have a lot of regrets, Kristen, but making a joke three years ago is not on the top ten a list.

Speaker 1

It's not sarcastic. It's revelatory. And so is this quote by JD Fans.

Speaker 2

He calls me weird, but then he lies about who is how his kids were conceived?

Speaker 3

Who does that?

Speaker 2

That's just the weirdest thing I've ever seen. And this one she is, I will say, the best grandmother that my kids could ask for. They are seven, four and two. Spoils them a little bit too much, Mom, No more Pokemon cards in front of a thousand people. No more Pokemon cards.

Speaker 3

The kids have got enough.

Speaker 1

By the way, what is it that Donald Trump was trying to say, as he garbled his words at his rally the other day.

Speaker 4

We had so many missiles. We didn't we could fire him all. We had to hire teams of people. Even the concept these people are just so destructive. So you know, I always look for good words, highly sophisticated, I'm highly educated.

Speaker 1

The national media is failing to report on the incoherence that we're seeing on a daily basis from a man who is obese, orange, and turning eighty years old soon. His mental fitness seems to be spiraling like his poll numbers. His cognition seems to be damaged. His illiteracy is something we've all watched for many, many years. His pension for making up words isn't new, but he's spouting nonsense. It's time to end the Trump Show. Time to turn the page. Now,

there's other interesting news out there. Our Trump's rallies backfiring on him is the spectacle of insanity, turning off even some of his own supporters. The show is stale. It's not funny anymore, if it ever was. Trump rarely can make anybody left. He used to be able to crack people up. Donald Trump is a decomposing in spiraling presidential candidate seeking to get the keys to the nuclear weapons codes. It doesn't seem like a very good idea, does it.

There is something important that should be said regarding his use of Arlington National Cemetery as a political prop Today, he vulgarized wreathlaying at the tombs of our soldiers who gave the last full measure of devotion to score cheap shots at President Biden and the Vice President over the disastrous and bungolds afghan withdrawal. But it's a good thing that Hr McMaster, retired Army Lieutenant general and Trump National Security is around to set the record straight. Do you

know who he blames for the chaotic Afghanistan withdrawal? The man who unilaterally surrendered to the Taliban? That would be Trump.

Speaker 3

That's right.

Speaker 1

One of the most highly decorated general officers of the last twenty years said about Trump's decision making.

Speaker 3

Does Trump bear part of the responsibility for what happened?

Speaker 4

Oh? Yes, I mean so the whole premise of talking to the Taliban before you leave Afghanistan?

Speaker 3

Why the heck were we even doing that?

Speaker 1

Summer is drifting to a close fall will start blow and pick up speed. Very very fast. This is going to be a slug fast, and it's going to be close. Kamala Harris's numbers now will start to come down a bit as her post convention bounce settles out. What will happen is that bounce will be cut by half over the next fifteen days, and structurally we'll be looking at a three point where consequences for the American people, for our children, the whole world are immense in this election. Vote,

get involved, contribute to the campaigns, do something. Every vote counts in these vital hours for our country's future. This is the warning. I'm Steve Schmidt. This is the warning, and I invite you to join. Subscribe on our substack, on our YouTube channel, follow us. Welcome to the community.
