Speaker 1

It is Tuesday, August fifth. This is the warning.

Speaker 2

Let's talk honestly about what's happening in America. Conditions are deteriorating. The assault on the republic, on democracy, on freedom, liberty, however you wish to think about, is worsening. One of the grave offenses of this era is the arrogance of the political elite, who have decreed that it is their right to take away your right to pick, to choose, to elect who leads you.

Speaker 1

What they seek is a world.

Speaker 2

Where the professional politician, using very intricate software, picks their voters. And so this is why congressional districts look like this and this and this modern art design, where block by block, a Republican house is carved in a Democratic household carved out, or vice versa to give one side the advantage over

the other. And what it has produced is a Congress where over ninety percent of all the members know that once they're in there, it is impossible for them to lose an election, except perhaps maybe in a primary, for not being pure enough in holding the line and being extreme enough to the satisfaction of their faction. Because there

is no moderate middle whatsoever. It has literally figuratively, like with a laser, been carved out of existence, like minded hive communities online reinforce hive communities that have come to exist in real life, and congressional districts carved between the two that exist in this space where the hive mind floods. They're fellow travelers with information curated so that no offense is ever given, that celebrates their leader as pure and

true and making America great again. So we have witnessed over the last six months the effects of all of this. We've seen the consequence the massed agents, a secret police force now funded to the size of the fifteenth largest military in the world, concentration camps, migrants sleeping on concrete, the evisceration of America's scientific industrial complex, the evisceration of the concept of facts.

Speaker 1

And data from the government.

Speaker 2

The reduction of the word of the United States around the world to that of a Banana Republic dictator from a Hollywood cartoon. Mostly, it has happened on the watch of the schumercrats in Washington, d c. It is there that Trump has steamrolled his opposition and has eviscerated the checks and balances. It is there against Chuck Schumer, a man who is not competent to the task, not competent to the moment, A feckless man, a man who is appeased.

Donald Trump, a deluded man, a man who, when there was an opportunity to arrest this, to stop it, to slow it, instead went out and delivered this.

Speaker 1

I'm gonna stand with you in this fight, and we will win.

Speaker 3

We will win.

Speaker 1

We will win, we will win.

Speaker 2

He was not winning, and America still is not winning. But the battleground is moving. Politics is zero sum, and what we have seen from the Maga imperialists, from the Maga fanatics, is a desire not to perfect the union, but to eradicate dissent and opposition, to securitize their power forever more. And so Greg Abbot, the malicious governor, extremist governor, corrupt governor of Texas, is.

Speaker 1

Going for it.

Speaker 2

In the middle of a decade, seven years off from the redistricting, Greg Abbot looks around and he says, Wow, Trump is unpopular. So what do we do?

Speaker 1

Well? We better take.

Speaker 2

Votes away from unhappy people and distribute them through modern science and technology on a map that creates five new Republican districts for the purposes of maintaining Trump's unchecked ambitions and unchecked power pristine. In the end, this aggression, of course, is answered by let's see the governor of New York.

Speaker 3

But here in New York, we will not stand on the sidelines with the timid souls on the sidelines who don't care, will not investor their heart and soul into this battle. This is a war.

Speaker 1

We are at war, and that's why the gloves are off, and I say bring it on war.

Speaker 2

I as an American, do not want war, and I don't like the Governor of New York talking about war. But what Democrats must realize is that Donald Trump's aggressions must be answered and that power must be used to stop the abuse of power. Here's California Governor Gavin Newsom, who's much closer to the line of where the party must be active.

Speaker 3

We're going to play fair in the world that is wholly unfair. We may have the higher moral ground, but the ground is shifting from underneath us, and I think we have to wake up to that reality. And I'm talking to members of my legislature. Whatever our alternatives, we could do a special session. I can call from one today. If I would chose to, we can then put something

on the ballot and I could call special election. We could change the Constitution with the consent of the voters, and I think we will win.

Speaker 2

That Republicans cannot be allowed to redraw congressional maps and pick up ten, fifteen, twenty seats to insulate themselves from voter outrage about their aggressions against the Constitution, against civil liberties, against the least of us, by the richest amongst us, who have taken great license with the people's government. It's time to remind the powerful politicians that in fact, we are a government of the people, by the people, for the people, and that requires the people having a vote.

And that is what the mag extremists are trying to take away.

Speaker 1

But war.

Speaker 2

We must never think about this as war, or allow Donald Trump to pull us into thinking about our filled citizens as our enemies, because then we will have lost

our country and we must not allow that to have. Instead, let's keep our focus on the corruption and on the outrage, and be precise and say to the American people with candor and truth that in these hours we must use all of the power that is lawfully available to us to defend freedom, to defend liberty, we must meet these maximum positions with maximum strength, and then we will defend straight power and its accumult relations in the wrong hands

in this country. In the next presidential election, we will restrain executive power.

Speaker 1

We will restrain the powers.

Speaker 2

Of CEOs, of the big corporations, of the big banks, of the big tech companies, of the big agg companies, of the big surveillance companies, of the big defense contractors. It will be time to rebalance the scales and to set things right, with the American Constitution at the center, as it should be in perpetuity of all things.

Speaker 1

This is the challenge ahead.

Speaker 2

There should not be loose talk of war or any other such things. Instead precise explanation about why it is necessary to do unprecedented things to fight back against unprecedented aggressions by people who swore an oath that they have desecrated. They they have violated as they have turned against their country, turned against its people for their own selfish enrichment, for their own selfish power and gains. And what it has

created is something monstrous. Look at these people. Ted Cruz, Pete Hegseth, Carolyn Levitt, Donald Trump Junior, jd Vance, Pam Bondie, Christy Nome, Corey Lewandowski. These people are but a handful in the multitudes of us, and they are the worst of the worst of us. And it is time that we become much less tolerant of their arrogance, their officiousness, their misconduct, and their aggression against us, the people of the United States. This is the warning. I'm Steve Schmidt.

This is the warning. I invite you to join this commune unity, where I promise to be honest, blunt and direct about what is happening in this country. America is in crisis. Follow and subscribe to this channel and on substack.

Speaker 1

Thank you.
