It is the thirteenth of January, and there are seven days left until the noon hour when Donald Trump raises his hand no doubt over a Trump Bible, which he will soon start hawking on the internet. He will swear the thirty five word oath, which he has already desecrated, and then once again he will be commander in Chief, the American head of state, President of the United States for four long years. This is the warning Donald Trump will be sworn in at a moment of American crisis.
As I speak, one hundred and fifty miles to the west, Los Angeles is burning. Here are many members of the California Congressional delegation during an apocalyptic crisis there at mar Lago, celebrating Trump, and MAGA has made clear. When they look out across the world and they see their enemies hits Californians, they're fellow Americans. That's who they're going to take it
out on. You see, according to all of the geniuses in MAGA, the fire it's California's fault and therefore the disaster aid it's contingent until and unless California genuflex to Donald Trump to MAGA gets in line with the Trumpian way. No money for them here is one of the dumbest United States senators. And believe me when I say this, it's a race to the bottom. Bill Haggerty of Tennessee suggesting that California may not get money from the federal government.
You've got to bring accountability to bear here, and before we put funds into place, we've got to find out exactly how we're going to hold these leaders accountable and what sort of policy changes are required.
The federal government is like a giant cash machine, like a slot machine. For some the slot machine devours quarters that would be California. Their a state that when it goes to the Washington casino, it puts in a dollar and it gets sixty five cents back. California is the state more than any other that funds the federal government, so that there are states like Tennessee that can put that dollar in and every time they win the jackpop
getting a dollar twenty five a dollar thirty back. The rest of the country would go bankrupt but for California, the programs that are required in states like Mississippi and Alabama, for American backwaters, they would be so much worse off without California without the people who were scorned in those hills. And this is what Donald Trump is doing. Scorekeeping dividing used to be when an American was in trouble, anywhere all of us felt, all of us would feel compelled
to act. But no more. We have some states rooting against other states, and we have the political leaders of those states, no matter what the facts of the matter, ready to point a finger, not even to score points for themselves, but for Donald Trump. And while all of this is going on, this is the week where his great menagerie of spectacular unfitness and keep depravity starts its
confirmation hearings. There's the registered Katari agent Pam Bondi, who, but for the absence of a statutory rape allegation, is just as ludicrous a pick to run the Department of Justice as was Macates, a Katari agent the home country of Hamas. No one should be surprised Pam Bondi was on the payroll. Christy Noon, the dog killing South Dakota governor, gave Donald Trump a replica of Mount Rushmore and put
Trump on it. This woman who ran on cruelty is going to be the head of America's monstrosity federal agency, the Department of Homeland Security, that should never have been in the first place, but became in the fear in the reaction to the nine to eleven attacks. If there is an agency that will be turned on the American people to abuse them, it's this, and there is the
perfect candidate to lead it. There are truly no words for the freak show that Donald Trump has nominated the alleged rapist, the drunk to sit atop the National Command Authority at the tip of the chain of command for our five four hundred plus nuclear warheads. Pete Hagsath with his white nationalist tattoos festooned about his chest, the Hansy Fox News morning host, is perhaps the most unfit of them all. But then again, how do you rank Tulca Gabbert?
How do you rank Robert F. Kennedy? How do you rank any of these people? The professional staff of the National Security Council, which includes senior military officers, nonpartisan who the only oath they've taken is to the Constitution of the United States, have been interrogated by the incoming Trump administration about their loyalty. The concern is not about their fidelity to the United States to the Constitution of the United States. No, it is whether they are sufficiently loyal
to Donald Trump. And the truth is none of them can satisfy the MAGA fanatics. So the entirety of the National Security Council staff, along with much of the senior leadership of the military, will be fired by sunset on January twenty. First things will happen fast. It is going to be shocking, it's going to be numbing, it's going to be frightening. And then the American people will say no, they'll say enough, they'll say bullshit, and they'll dig in
and they'll oppose. This truth is in the city of Los Angeles, the state of California at large, a great many people are apathetic about politics. California is broken in part because of a lack of participation in the political system. It has allowed, if you think about it, like a garden, for the weeds to grow in. The weeds are the succession of political hacks who have thrived in the term
limits one party era. And the truth is that era it has to come to an end now in California because the rebuilding will take the vision of a man like Pat Brown. It's going to take genius and vision. There will be a great reawakening in California, deep intolerance, as there should be from so many people who've lost everything about delays caused by nonsense in the rebuilding of
their lives. Government is going to be confronted in California like it has not been perhaps ever, and people at California are going to be upset about the layers of byzantine bureaucracy and the rules and the contradictions and the suffering that they impose in California. Gives all the tools that are necessary for an electorate to possess to make dramatic change. And there will be and after that, because trends start in California, the energy will be released that
will help make drastic change in the United States. And the aftermath of the Trump disaster that's coming, that's bearing down. These are going to be turbulent years in America, frightening years in America. But don't give into the fear. We live in an era where the richest and most powerful people in the country are lined up around on the block to genuflect to Donald Trump, and then they get called out on it, like Michael Steele did. To Joe Scarborough.
They don't like it very much, but nevertheless it's true. The owner of the Washington Post, Jeff Bezos, has commissioned a forty million dollar documentary about the life of Malania Trump, someone that nobody's interested in, not even her husband. It's payoff, it's bribe, whether it's Zuckerberg, whether it's Bezos, whether it's Scarborough, or whether it's these California fools dining on crab of
hunka while they're state burns. Were in for it because this is what the American people chose in their infinite wisdom, with forty nine point two percent of the vote. And in a democracy, the people are never wrong, just temporarily misguided. And so misguided, we are on the eve of a type of instruction, in a season of burning. When the flames come, when the fire comes, it seems as if everything is burning. But that's not the case. And no matter what Donald Trump burns, it will not be the
case that he has burned everything. There will be plenty of unscarred land to stand on and to fight back from when the burning begins, and it will. This is the warning. I'm Steve Schmidt.
