Eighty two days until the American people decide who sits behind the resolute desk in the Oval Office as the commander in chief of the most potent military in the history of the world. This is the warning. At this hour, Ukrainian forces continue to advance into Kirsk in Russia. At this hour, carrier battle groups continue to move towards the Middle East, awaiting an Iranian attack on Israel. Domestically, in the United States, Vice President Kamala Harris is ahead. If
the election were tomorrow, she would win. Donald Trump is decomposing, He is spiraling, and today he will talk about the economy in North Carolina. But if his interview with Elon Musk is a preview, there won't be much economic news. What there will be is insanity, delusion, lying, nonsense, and all sorts of attacks, some based in reality, some not based in reality. Donald Trump has reached an inflection point.
The madness is too obvious to ignore. The slurring that the campaign tells us we did not hear is certainly there. What's going on with the seventy eight year old Trump Mentally, he seems to be cracking up. It's as if something has broken inside of him. Again, the same part that broke after he was defeated in November of twenty twenty by President Biden. President Biden is not in this campaign anymore, but Donald Trump can't stop talking about him. We're gonna
get Joe Biden out of the White House. Joe is bad. Joe couldn't hear, He couldn't he could do anything. Joe Biden was exposed during the debate. Are you a communist? Joe? I don't know. Are we dealing with Biden? Biden? Probably should get out? What do you like better? Does it matter anymore? But what do you like better? Crooked Joe
or sleepy Joe. He doesn't seem to understand that the woman who is on the ballot is Kamala Harris, and he doesn't seem to appreciate the fact that everything he once said about President Biden seems to just be bouncing right off of her. The good news for Donald Trump is is that there's eighty days of beclowning left to go before his life sentence takes effect. Trump's not going to prison, but he's going to imprison his mar Lago members.
He's going to imprison them on the patio as he works the tables, President Norma Desmond, interminal decline for twenty years. When he's one hundred and five and six, Trump will be sitting there at mar Lago working the tables, and it will be the final few members. There will be no Presidential library. This man will fail in disgrace. And the best part about what's coming next for Trump is this.
All of these people who sold out everything, whose cynicism is beyond description, Tom Cotton, Lindsey Graham, all of them, all of the people that made Trump possible, will pretend he never existed. They have no idea who he was, that the ten years never happened. And the American people will let them do it, because the American people hate looking backwards. Our capacity as a people for amnesia is
absolutely without challenge anywhere in the world. The Trump era will be forgotten, will fade away, will be a footnote, an era of madness, and it won't be repeated. P. T. Barnum became president at the dawn of the age, when all human beings found their instantaneous connection. This communication revolution remains in its infancy, and when we look back on it, or generations from now look back on it, they'll understand that in the infancy of this technology, bizarre things happened.
It used to be if there was a stark, raving, mad political lunatic spouting Linden Laruche theories, for example, in a supermarket parking lot, we didn't take that person seriously as a community, as a state, as a county, as a country, however you wanted to look at it. It was a disqualification. If you couldn't tell the truth, it was a disqualification. If you had no character, it was
a disqualification. If during a global pandemic you told people to inject bleach because you're an imbecile, it was a disqualification. But all of that in a moment was upended when we could all communicate instantly and be validated simultaneously. People became disconnected, they became isolated, and they became lonely. Their
phones became their lifelines. And the reality is the person who exploited that cultural weakness more than any other person to great effect was a demagogue out of Queens, New York, Donald John Trump, who was there all along. What this era did was turn all of the media into the New York City tabloids, and he was a maestro. But it's all coming to an end because people get it. They look at this and they see a circle going round and round and round and down and down and
down into the drain. The United States is about to be two hundred and fifty years old to monumental achievement. Can you imagine the astonishment of the founding fathers to see a black woman as President of the United States and to learn that there's an American flag on the moon. The country has gone through many trials and tribulations, much worse than Donald Trump. The country has faced down hate,
terrible racism, slavery. It has face down brutal ignorance. It has faced down all these things because the United States is a government of the people, by the people, for the people. And some of the people are terrible. Some of the terrible people, because terrible people get represented in a democracy, also wind up in Congress, like Lauren Bobert, like Marjorie Taylor Greed, A bunch of loons and conspiracy theorists have latched on to politics. These unfit people are
coming to the end of their rope. The pendulum is swinging back towards normalcy after a decade of chaos. It's a good thing. It's a healthy thing. America is living through a moment of adjustment in an era of profound change and transition. The event between Elon Musk and Donald Trump is a farce. It's a joke. It's a type of absurdist theater. It's not real. And both of these narcissists do not care at all about anything aside from money and power and attention. What Donald Trump is in
this moment of transition is a philosopher of sorts. It's a philosopher of youwism. We live in a time where a lot of people, a lot of people at the top, deserve an fu. But an fu is an empty calorie. It doesn't get you ahead. But when you're stagnant, when you're treading water, stuck in the muck, feels good to say it sometimes. And a lot of people have set it by pulling down the Trump lover. But they're still stuck. Now they have something better to vote for, Kamala Harris,
And that's why the race has so completely changed. So many people say that this is a surprise, it's not. If you know how to read a poll, this is exactly what was going to happen as Joe Biden got out of the race. Because think of a spring that is being compressed or stepped on. When you step off of it, up it goes. And when Joe Biden stepped
off that spring, it launched Kamala Harris. Because people want younger, they want smarter, they want better, they want a president for the twenty first century to deal with the challenges now. And the Trump campaign is spinning, confused, lost, and most importantly it's losing. We are on the eve of the Democratic National Convention, and the MAGA movement in America is dying this August of twenty twenty four. It's a pleasure to watch. This is the warning. I'm Steve Schmidt.
