Speaker 1

We live in an age, an era of meaningless words and broken promises that have had a disastrous effect on the United States, the American people, and have brought us to this low moment where in a few days, Donald Trump will be sworn in again as President of the United States of America despite desecrating his oath. This is

the warning. Let's watch Donald Trump swear that oath dot broke with his lies and insurrection, criminal conduct, his fantasies, his delusions, his venom, his malice, and his contempt for the American people and the Constitution of the United States.

Speaker 2

Please raise your right hand and repeat after me, I, Donald John Trump, do solemnly swear.

Speaker 1

Does a cable news host do they have an implicit bond with their audience, particularly if they refer to that audience as family. Do you lie to your family? Do you break your word? Or do you tell them the truth even when the truth can be tough to hear. MSNBC's Rashida Jones has moved on from her perch as

president of the network. Well, one area where she made history is being president of the first network to have a morning show where the host look the audience in the eye through the camera and set for you to them.

Speaker 4

Let's watch, start your tape right now, because I'm about to tell you the truth and FU if you can't handle the truth. This version of Biden, intellectually, analytically is the best Biden ever, not a close second. And I've known him for years. The Brazinskis have known him for fifty years. If it weren't the truth, I wouldn't say it.

Speaker 1

When it was all said and done. The man he called Hitler, he was the first to get on down to mar A Lago capitulate himself. Another broken promise, there's Jeff Bezos. Jeff Bezos promise to continue a tradition that was passed on to him by the Graham family. It was more than a commercial transaction. When Jeff Bezos took over the Washington Post. It was a duty, it was an obligation. This is one of the most storied and important institutions in the history of American journalism, and so

in the political history of the country. The Washington Post is a sentinel of truth until Jeff Bezos burned it down. Another broken promise. Here's Karen Bass. Karen Bass said she would never leave the state of California. She wouldn't travel abroad except for to go to New York or Washington, d C. To do the business of California. Here she is in Ghana. The man sitting next to her His watch shows eight pm. The Palisades fire is exploding at

this exact second. Another broken promise by another failed leader. Here's President George W. Bush telling the nation that there are weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, that the war there and the sacrifice of American forces and the loss of Iraqi civilian life is justified.

Speaker 5

I take the threat very seriously. I take the fact that he develops weapons of mass destruction very seriously. History has called us in action, that we love freedom, that we'll be deliberate, patient and strong, and the values that we adhere to well, we can't let the world's worst leaders blackmail, threaten, hold freedom loving nations hostage with the world's worst weapons.

Speaker 1

Broken promises have added up, they have accrued, They have built up so high by both parties that the American people believe in little and trust in less. The result

is a great gathering of idiots and imbeciles. And I don't use those words lightly, but rather precisely, because they are the words in English appropriate to describe the Trumpian assemblage of ne'er do wells, convicted criminals, accused sexual abusers that have come to Washington, take power and inflict a punishment against who you and me and all of us. For example, let's watch Jesse Waters point his finger and punish forty million Californians.

Speaker 6

This is biblical level destruction. And the city of La is hosting the Olympics in four years. There's no way we can showcase La to the world. A full federal takeover is needed, invoke the Stafford Act, the States overwhelmed. Martial law might have to be declared.

Speaker 1

And the amazing thing is Jesse Waters has real power because Donald Trump's going to see it and say, you know what, He's right and so is the Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson, and all of these people. Because it was said on Fox, and because Fox is the wellspring of power in the Trump administration, they will get in line and the punishment will come. We've reached this low moment, not by accident, but through a character of apocalypse, and it didn't always used to be this way, but

now it is. And digging out it this mess is going to take a lot of effort by a lot of people who demand better. Usually the demand for better comes from a pit of suffering caused by a broken promise is epic as the one that Karen Bass delivered. Things will change in Los Angeles. There will be a reawakening of civic spirit and activism. People will have to be involved because if they're not ruin nation awaits they say that all trends that start in California spread to

the country. It's a lot of truth to it. And here's the deal. The disaster there, it's going to spread metaphorically, of course, it's going to spread to Washington, where an arsonist does at work. And what we see from the Pete Hegseat hearings is somebody who will break his promises, and then there will be disaster every person, whether it be the Katari lobbyist Pambondi, whether it be Christy Known, whether it be RFK, whatever it is, they say, it's

all empty words. There's no argument that they're fit for theseis. There's no record to substantiate any possibility that they could be. What these people are is perfectly clear. Whatever promises they make, or as empty as the ones Karen Bass made, as empty as the one Donald Trump made his empty as the one he's about to make again. So many people in this era are going to be hurt, but this is not our destiny to stay mired here forever. We

can and we will make it through. It will take determination, it will take grit, and it will take toughness, and it will take a recognition to appreciate that Chuck Schumer and a lot of these people, they're part of the problem. They're the people that perform so wretchedly that the American people looked at Donald Trump and said him and then those people want to lecture all of us about what we can think, what we can say, particularly about them.

The cost of their broken promises has been sky high, and the bill is going to be more than we can endure. This is the warning. I'm Steve Schmidt. This is the warning, and I invite you to join. Subscribe on our substack, on our YouTube channel, follow us. Welcome to the community.
