Episode description

Andy "Horitran" played a vital role in the establishment of My Tattoo Huntington Beach California in 2013, where he helped build and develop the studio. His dedication and talent in the art of tattooing led to him being bestowed with the title "Horitran" by his mentor and founder of Horiyen Ichimon, Horiyen (Jess Yen), in 2007. This distinction marked him as the first Vietnamese American to receive such an honor, highlighting his exceptional skills and commitment to his craft.

Horitran embarked on his tattooing journey in 2003 in the Bay Area, California. He has spent years training rigorously to master both the use of electrical tattoo machines and the traditional handpoke technique known as tebori.

Beyond his achievements in the tattooing world, Horitran's true passion lies in researching Vietnamese history and culture. He has dedicated the past few decades to exploring and understanding his heritage, with the goal of showcasing its beauty to people worldwide.
