EPISODE 37 – THE BASKETBALL DIARIES – Yet another episode when Vanessa & Daeron talk about heroin. Seriously, we didn’t plan it that way. This time it’s Jim Carroll’s “The Basketball Diaries” & its 1995 film adaptation starring Leonardo DiCaprio. Due to our recording delay, we won’t have a February Referral Slips episode, but in lieu of that, we throw in a little Oscar talk here. Coming late February: the 1991 film “Daughters of the Dust” & Zora Neale Hurston’s “Every Tongue Got to Confess: Negro Folk-tales from the Gulf States”.
