Nina Schick: Deepfakes and Our Synthetic Future

Ed chats with Nina Schick, a political commentator and author whose recently released book “Deepfakes” explores how manipulated media is impacting our lives, and how we can fight back. Though they met as opponents in a debate about Facebook (in which she bodied Ed), they find lots of common ground on the upside of synthetic media – think the “de-aging” effect in Scorsese’s “The Irishman” – as well as the dangers of disinformation to companies and governments.
