Ep- 03: Workation ft. Rucha Deshpande on UNSETTLING by Amrita Sukumar

Episode 3 is a conversation with Rucha Deshpande about her life in Manipur as a Music Teacher. We talk at length about her transition from city life to village life. We also talk about the problems faced by the villagers such as water shortage during the summers and the work done by the NGO she is associated with, Sunbird Trust, which empowers the people there. 

Rucha quit her corporate job and joined the Sunbird Trust NGO on their Social Media team in Manipur where she works with the Naga tribe. Since the roles were not rigid everyone in the NGO gets a chance to manage everything. That is when she found her love for teaching music. The cover videos of the songs that she created with the help of the team and her students were appreciated by a lot of people even by the composers themselves. After living with the people there for over 2 years and facing problems like water shortage and watching the villagers solving their problems with a smile on their faces, she realized that the problems that we face in life are only as big as we allow them to be. If we have the grit and perseverance to face it, nothing can stop us.
