Gertrude O'Leary was a popular former landlady of a pub in Bristol. After leaving the pub she had decided to run a shop in the city and she was well loved and respected within the community. Why then had someone decided to murder her on the 30th June 1949? This was the question that police had to ask themselves and this would lead them to a number of suspicious people and false leads.
