Episode description

On the 19th March 1949, a gunman entered the manager's office and opened fire on two of the managers. The man was seen by a number of employees but managed to flee before being caught. It was revealed that sadly Leonard Thomas and John Bernard Catterall had been killed in the incident. The murderer had not managed to get any of that evening's takings and it was the awful fact was that the two men had been murdered for what would have amounted to £50. A huge manhunt ensued and resulted in a complicated investigation and a number of different trials.
