Episode description

On the 29th December 1969, Alick McKay returned home from work to his house in Wimbledon, London to discover that his wife was not at home. This was unusual as he was expecting her to be home and she hadn't mentioned that she was going out anywhere. The fire was on, the lights were on and the contents of her handbag were strewn all around the stairs. Alick phoned the police and as an executive at The Sun and News of the World newspapers he was able to get his wife's disappearance on the next day's front page. When she had still not returned he was worried and he received a phone call. The call came from a man saying "We are Mafia M3\. We are from America. We tried to get Rupert Murdoch's wife. We couldn't get her so we took yours instead. You have a million by Wednesday night or we will kill her."....
