13: The Gorse Hall Murder
Feb 17, 2019•29 min
Episode description
On the 1st November 1909, George Harry Storrs was attacked and killed in his home at Gorse Hall in the town of Stalybridge, Greater Manchester. This had not been the first attack on his home and police intially found it difficult to find any suspects in the crime. George was a prominent and wealthy man in Stalybridge as he was involved in cotton industry; was his wealth a motive in his death or was it something else? This case would end up leading to two different trials but they would not end up as the police had hoped.
