Wesley understood that the Via Salutis (Way of Salvation) does not end with entire sanctification; it provides the bridge to eternal life. He saw that our lives here and now set the trajectory for eternity and that our task is to focus on the present moment. He wrote in a letter, "Your concern is with the present moment; your business is to live today ... It is true the full assurance of hope excludes all doubt of our final salvation; but it does not and cannot continue any longer than we walk closely with God. " Death is a certainty yet worrying about it changes nothing. Our focus must be on living today.
