Welcome to today's episode . I'm excited for this one . I'm loving these Friday episodes . They're short , sweet , spicy , they are just kind of something to get you into the weekend .
My goal is to kind of get you rolling into the weekend with something either kind of lighthearted or kind of , you know , aggressive , like let's fucking go , you know the baddest version of yourself . And then this week we're going to talk about this premise that we all have the same 24 hours in the day .
We all have 24 hours in the day and you know , some of us basically just like get it done . You know , and I want to just come out and quite frankly say we do not all have the same keyword same 24 hours in a day . So let's just get real .
I've been seeing this a lot on social media lately and I've been seeing a lot of people getting a little pissed off about it and creating reels that are .
You know , I shared one actually a little while ago with just this guy on a swing and you know it was like point of view we all have 24 hours , the same 24 hours in the day , and he's on a swing , just like flipping the camera off . And yeah , I felt that and a lot of my clients felt that .
A lot of you following me felt that and I got a lot of a lot of comments on that , because that's something that like we can kind of joke around about it , right , like , yeah , we don't all have the same 24 hours in a day . We all have 24 hours in a day , but it's not just as simple . As you know , I'm getting it done and you're not .
And yeah , I mean I do say you know you have to . There's no such thing as motivation . You have to create it . There's no such thing as really having time . You have to create the time .
So there's that premise and of course I stand by the fact that , yeah , I mean I would much rather sit on the couch and scroll my phone or go shopping or literally do anything pretty much other than work out , but at the end of the day , like we have to make that decision to go work out . So it has to .
You know , you have to create the time and when you have the time , you have to make good use of it , like all of that , all of that realistic stuff . I'm not bypassing any of the things that I've previously said about this , but I do have clients that are like I see so and so working out all the time .
I see these people on social media working out all the time my friend has more time and it's really frustrating because you know , I hear this like we have . We all have the same 24 hours in a day and you know , I'm just not finding a way to get it done and I'm like , but do you have the same 24 hours in a day ? Let's break it down .
And I think it's kind of this joke on social media lately where it's like 20-year-old , let's say female , 20-year-old female fitness influencers where that's their only job . They're not married , they might have a significant other , right , but they don't have kids .
This is their job and I'm not saying that an influencer or a fashion influencer or a fashion or I'm sorry , a fitness influencer or what I do as , like , a personal trainer online , it is a full-time job . If that's their job , it is a full-time job . I'm going to actually talk about that for a moment because I think that's important .
A lot of people will say like , well , she's just an influencer online If and I'm a 43-year-old personal trainer online but if there is a 20-year-old personal trainer , like an online personal trainer , building her brand . It's a full-time business . So I'm not going to discredit that in the least and I want you to know that too .
If , behind the scenes , if she's going to the gym every day and working out and filming that , and then she's editing that , and then she has one-on-one clients and then she has to build workout programs for these clients and we have calls with these clients , and then we have other programs and we have apps and we have podcasts and we have you know , there is
a lot . So that is a full-time job . So , yes , that person does have a full-time job and whether she hires those things out to be done great for her right . So that's busy . So I wanna make that very clear that what I do and what other personal trainers online do as their full-time job , it is that a full-time job .
I know it looks fun like oh , we're just posting our workouts and like jumping on one-on-one calls . It's a literal job . So I don't . First of all , let me just back myself up there and give us online personal trainers a little credit . But the joke on social media and what I talk about with my clients , you know they're like this 24 hours .
We all have 24 hours , but these girls are 20 years old and they don't know what it's like to have kids and sports schedules and you schedules and all the things . That's the difference . And so it's just kind of . This joke is like yeah , well , I'm in my 40s and I have teenage kids and I can't . It's not the same 24 hours .
So that's what we're going to talk about . I'm going to be real with you . You do not have the same 24 hours as a full-time working mom and period as anyone else . Okay , so if you are a full-time , even if you're not a working outside the home mom , just a stay at home mom . And I don't mean just like , oh , you're just a stay at home mom .
I mean like if you are literally just a stay at home mom and you're not an accountant or you're not an online personal trainer or you're not a banker , whatever if that's your job to stay at home with your children and take care of them in your home that alone is a full-time job as well . Anything on top of that is maddening , right ?
So we do not have the same 24-hour day as anyone else , as anyone else . So if you ever hear that I was talking to my client , deanna , shout out hey girl this morning and I was telling her that I don't know if you guys remember there was a quote and I believe it was on a coffee cup . I'm going to have to Google that really quick while I'm talking .
I believe it was even on a coffee cup that was saying you have the same 24 hours as Beyonce . And I remember literally thinking and I was a lot younger then , but I remember , yep , I just pulled it up it's a coffee cup , it's white and it has you have the same amount of hours in a day as Beyonce .
It's this quote , you can Google it you have the same amount of hours in a day as Beyonce . I was thinking it said the same 24 hours as Beyonce . Then there's visuals . So I'm sure some of you guys remember this Girls probably . For sure . I remember seeing that quote you have the same number of hours in a day as Beyonce . And I took that very personal .
I was like , wow , I suck . Look at Beyonce . She's out here doing all the things . She's Beyonce , right ? This was a long time ago , like I'm saying . So now I would read that and be like , okay , but a little different lifestyle , right .
But that being said , I read that quote and thought yeah , I suck , beyonce is killing it and I'm over here basically doing nothing , right ? But when you break it down , and no hate to her , of course , but I'm sure she's got maids and I'm sure she basically doing nothing , right .
But when you break it down , and no hate to her , of course , but I'm sure she's got maids and I'm sure she's got nutritionists and I'm sure she's got nannies and I'm sure you know what I mean Like it's just different and obviously she works her ass off , but so do I and so do you listening to this .
So I remember seeing that quote very , very vividly and taking it to heart and thinking I suck .
So it's easy to do , it's easy to see these people online , it's easy to see your friends , it's easy to see people pulling up at the gym , maybe if you're driving by thinking like , oh , my kid's sick , I have to go straight home after work today , so I can't go to the gym , and this person has more time than me , right ? You do not have the same .
The same . You have the same amount of hours . Yeah , that's very , very true , but they're different . You don't have the same hours . Your hours don't look the same as Beyonce . They don't look the same as me . They don't look the same as your friend . They don't look the same as the 20-year-old influencer online . Your life is different than everybody else's .
So you have a pass now from me to you to hear that quote and block the person that says it . You have a pass now from me to you to hear that quote and block the person that says it . You have a pass to not hate on yourself and think that you suck because you don't .
But let's take it a little further here and figure out okay , what hours do I have in the day right ? To kind of figure this out .
Like , if you do have goals which I hope you do , and whatever , let's say obviously we're relating this to fitness If you have goals to change your body , to eat better , to do all the things you only do have 24 hours in the day and you do have to look at your life right now and figure out how can I , with the 24 hours in a day that I have , and the
responsibilities that I have and the things that I'm not willing to give up , how do I fit all of that in ? And that's where you make your 24 hours count . So don't compare your 24 hours to anyone else's , because it's not the same .
But do look at your 24 hours and really make them count , because the weeks go fast and the days are long , but the years are short , right , I always hear that corny quote when it comes to like kids , but it's so true the weeks fly by , the months fly by . I mean , we're already way into February at this point and it's crazy .
So we need to make sure that we are making the best use of our time , because it does go by and it's going to be spring and it's going to be summer and we're not going to have the body that we want , we're not going to have done anything towards our goals , because I don't have the time .
And some people would just look at that quote and think you know , well , I don't have the same time as them , and they're a 20-year-old fitness influencer and good for them , and they don't have any responsibilities and they don't have a quote-unquote real job and they don't have a quote-unquote real life and they're out of touch with reality , right , a lot of
people sit there and kind of make judgments and excuses in that kind of arena , and I don't like that because , yeah , I'm sure that that person does work hard and I'm sure that that person probably shouldn't say we all have the same 24 hours because , like we don't , we don't have the same 24 hours .
But it's not an excuse to just say you know well , I don't have time and my 24 hours are crazier than this person's , and you know , shame on that person for even saying that . Like , what an idiot , so out of touch . That's not true and we shouldn't look at it like that . You shouldn't .
You know you can kind of , of course , I'm kind of joking about it because it's just one of those things . It's one of those quotes that got to me and it's one of those quotes that gets to a lot of my clients . But at the end of the day , I do want you to you know , maybe take some time . I wasting time . Probably social media .
For me it's always going to be social media . I catch myself scrolling and I'm like , why am I doing this ? It's okay to scroll , of course , sometimes it's okay to scroll , but it's almost like getting worse .
Social media is so out of touch with reality , it's such a time suck that I can't imagine all the things that I would get done if I didn't have it , which would probably kind of be kind of nice . I do like social media , obviously . I work from social media . I've learned a lot on social media . I learn a lot every day on social media .
I scroll a lot of fitness accounts and I'm learning things and I'm just like watching people and thinking , wow , people are very , very creative and people are very , very smart and brave for putting themselves out there . And those are the accounts that I follow . That that's how I want to feel when I'm .
It's kind of like the people you surround yourself in real life , like the five people you surround yourself with the closest are the people that you are most alike . I kind of feel like that online , the people that you are watching the most online , make sure they are people that you really either enjoy .
I have I cannot think of their names , but I have this account . It's a mom and a little boy and I know he has a cochlear implant and he's so , so sweet and I love to watch their accounts because they're just so cute together . They're dynamic .
And then I have like three fitness influencers that I follow that I can kind of go to their page and watch their stories and kind of scroll through their information and it's so good and it's they're very smart , they're very knowledgeable , they're very well spoken and it's very , very good content .
Otherwise , I find myself just kind of scrolling and scrolling and scrolling , and for what ? So take a look at your 24 hours , make it count , do a little audit , see where you need to make some pivots and some adjustments , if there are things that you want to do .
If you're like I can't meal prep because I don't have the time , and that's fine , I like to say that I don't have the time either , but I could . I could have the time , I could make the time . I don't want to , because I want to do other things with that time .
But if you're finding , if really getting pissed that somebody else has more time in their day , or better time in their day or different time in their day , right , they have time . They don't , you know , have as many kids , they don't have as many responsibilities , blah , blah , blah , blah , that's fine . It doesn't mean that their life is easy .
It doesn't mean that they are , you know , just able to , like , fuck around all day . It means that they are using what the time that they do have and the resources that they do have . So make things simple . If you want to meal prep , figure out how to do it simply .
If you're like I can't meal prep , I don't have the time , then figure out how to hit your macros without meal prepping . That's what I had to do . Figure out how to work out three to four days a week instead of five to seven . So make your 24 hours count .
Absolutely the premise of this , but also kind of did want to shit on that subject of we all have 24 hours . They're the same 24 hours in the day because we quite simply do not .
I know , as I remember being a hairstylist and getting home from my job and I didn't have kids yet or anything I would get home , I would go for a run and kind of have all this free time I could cook and I just did different things , of course , back in the day and then had kids and they're babies and you're trying to navigate that whole world and my
body is different . My time is different . If I do have time set aside to work out , my baby would start crying or whatever it is . It's like life doesn't really go your way anymore . Or , yeah , I guess it's like life is kind of taking on . You're taking on a different role , so life looks different .
I was based around , you know , my daughter's feeding schedule and then I had two kids and so then my daughter's hungry and then I have to , you know , breastfeed my son , or whatever it's like . Life gets crazy . And then they're toddlers and I'm trying to figure out how to make this 24 hours work .
I still want to work out , I still want to hang out with my kids , I still have to go to work . How do I make all of this work ? And it was really hard . And then my kids get a little bit older and they start little sports . They were in little soccer leagues and t-ball and then my evenings are taken up .
So this time where I would get home from work and be home and cook and clean a little bit and do laundry and do my workout , now became t-ball and soccer and things about the kids and we'd have music stuff and dance lessons or whatever right , and it just compounds over time . You don't have more time . You won't have more time .
Don't wait until later , don't wait until , oh , my 24 hours . You know , we'll clear up a little bit , I'll have . It'll seem like I have more time in the day Once my kids start school , I'll have more time . You won't . You have literally the same amount of time . You have 24 hours in a day .
Yeah , they're going to go to school , but something's going to take that time up . You used to do something with it before and you'll find something to do with it again . Unless it's on purpose , that time won't count . I with it again . Unless it's on purpose , that time won't count .
I remember thinking , oh , my kids will be in school , I'll have so much free time . I don't remember ever feeling like I had free time Since I've had children . I don't remember feeling like I've had free time . And that's just how it is .
And we've navigated through elementary school and middle school and now I've went all the way through high school and I'm telling you , life gets busier . It doesn't get easier , it gets harder , it gets busier . Time goes faster as your kids get older . So it's really a good idea to get a good handle on the 24 hours that you have and realize that .
I hope that kind of smacks you in the face a little bit . To be honest , I wish someone would have literally sat me down and said you will not have more time . In fact , as your children get older and you grow and you have things that you want to do and you change . You will have the same 24 hours in a day , but you'll have less time .
You'll have less time . You'll have more laundry . You'll have more groceries to buy . You'll have more mouths to feed . You'll have more conversations . You'll have more laundry . You'll have more groceries to buy . You'll have more mouths to feed . You'll have more conversations . You'll have more sports activities . You'll have more family activities . You'll have more .
You'll have more shit to do period . I wish I would have known that sooner , and I never really had expectations of having a shit ton of time to myself , but I did always think as my kids get older , they won't need me as much . I'll have more time to myself . But I did always think as my kids get older , they won't need me as much .
I'll have more time to myself . And , yeah , they don't need me as much . And no , I don't have more time to myself . Maybe that's my fault for starting an online business that I run by myself , essentially , so maybe that's on me , but I think if I went to the salon to go to work right now , still it would be the exact same .
I would feel the exact same . I would have the same workload that I do now , and so , yeah , that's just a little bit of real talk . We do not have the same 24 hours in a day . You don't have the same 24 hours as Beyonce .

I mean , yeah , but way to put that on a coffee cup and make me feel like a loser . Whoever did that , that's crazy , I don't know . Anyways , I hope this was a little short , sweet , spicy episode to get you through the weekend . You're not a failure , you're not a loser .
You just don't have the same amount of time as anyone else , but you do have the time . So what do you want to do with it ? What do you want to do with it ? It's totally up to you . Just don't complain about the results you didn't get from the work you didn't put in . And we'll end on that . I'll talk to you in the next episode .
