Yeah, ripped dum. You need advice so you don't have come running. Just as fast as we can. Shooter's gonna help come man Dix is the Troubleshooter Show now, Tom Martinez Car Friday. That's what we got here. But we'll talk about anything you want, but we will talk about cars. I got Kevin coalking with me right here in the home studio and welcome, Welcome, Welcome. Is Mark signed on? Is he coming on today or what is he? Yeah? By the way he is working, he's doing

some business wanting Yeah, And of course I want to tell people. Of course Mark and Sue's work on and off the air, and and I want to make that clear because people say, what the hell is going on? Well, it's not like he's slacking anyway. Three oh three seven one three talks seven one three h two five five. Kevin, let's talk about the auto business. Now, this is something that I'm not sure bodes well. Well, I don't know what it does for the economy, for just the

car sector, maybe other things. But you're not the only one I've heard this from. I'd like to hear from business people, and then I'm going to go to Leslie. But in short, and you're not the only one the car repair business. You feel it a little down, tick, don't it's it's pulling back a little bit. It is, you know it. But we've been running around with our hair on fire for so long. I think this is more normal. Is it normal or slow? It's slow compared

to what it was compared to normal life. Is it normal or is it? I think it's the normalcy is starting to fill back in, and that feels like a slow down. It does exactly. Okay. Does that mean it'll keep slowing down, do you think? Or it's going to find its level. I hope it finds its level. It's been hard for dick business for you know, the less for years now. By the way, there is someone who graciously said they would sell me a car at very low price,

and I haven't ruled it out. I'm looking for a car. Listen. I know right now is not a great time to talk about helping immigrants here on asylum. I have chosen to help those who want to help themselves and establish work place to live, not make demands on the mayor. I'm talking about really good, honest, hard working people that want to help themselves and I've chosen to help them with people who I know in the community who

have been providing jobs, and I need transportation. That's the never ending battle. I am making them get driver's licenses. Since it's car Day, I'll talk about this and they have gotten legal, we will have insurance. It's going to be real. But if you have a car or a motorcycle, you can donate. I swear to you it will go to a good use. Look, we have such mixed feelings right now on immigration. I'm just telling you this. They left for a good reason. Now when they come

here, that's up to them. What they want to do and the reason they're here. We can argue did the city invite them, did this, did Texas export them? Whatever. All I'm saying is this the family themselves. Take the politics away. There are some good, hard working people that needed to escape tyranny and true pressure. For those people who continue helping themselves, I give a lending hand. I'm not bragging. I'm just saying.

The reason I'm saying it, I never talk about it. But the reason I'm talking about it is I truly need transportation for these people, one at a time. So even though I have someone who said they would graciously sell me a car to a low price. I need more, and that one is not running right now, and there's some complications. If you have a car, if you have a motorcycle, please keep me in mind. Then

I'm going to tap Uncle Kevin for a deal. I'm not going to ask them to do anything free, but I'll have them, you know, help me out get these things running. We don't need the best in the world, and I think most people want to help. But you know, you see the stuff on the news. Oh well, yeah, like these demands. Well you know, but I look, it's very popular to hop on bandwagons of any kind. Okay, the demands though, I mean, that's kind of ridiculous, right they want did you hear some of the demands.

I don't want to get into it right now because I want to go to the phones. But my god, some of the demands, they're just downright. I'd like some of them, right, No, No, I'm serious. I mean it's it's okay. For example, they want to have showers without time limits. Okay, they want to be clean, I don't mind, okay, but but they want culturally appropriate food ingredients to cook, including rice, chicken flour, tomatoes onions instead of of being served pre made meals.

Okay, I understand, I understand all of these, but who is in a position to make meals? Excuse me, not to make meals, but to make demands free consultations with attorneys privacy for families in the shelter. I mean, they say they'll move into shelters, but they want to be able to cook and do all of that. Anyway, I digress. Let me go to Leslie, who has a Audi, A twenty twenty Audi. What is an all road Audi? Is that a model? Leslie? Is that a model? It's also called an eight four and it's okay, it

looks like a station wagon. Yeah, they're nice, listen, Yeah, Audi? In general, I just want to ask Kevin real quick here listen, are they like in the same boat as Mercedes and Beamers or are they in the boat of the range Rover? No, Mercedes and Beamer. Yeah, so they're good. They're good, but they're good till fifty or sixty thousand, then they nickel and dim you to death. Exactly. Okay,

Okay, go ahead, dear, what's happening? Well? I got to say that I once was in a wreck that I totaled a similar car and I walked away, And so I think they're a super safe car. Oh probably, probably, Yes, is a huge, huge shape. I know I know you through a longtime friends here boiled. Oh I'm god, yes,

longtime brother. Yeah, So what's happening? So what's happening is twice on this twenty twenty I had a module go out, which at one period it looks like I'm my navigation that I'm flying through space a is it a driveability thing or is it going to be more creature creature stuff? Well, it's interesting that that part. I mean, I'm in real estate of knowing where I'm going. It's sort of huge. But this time the rear view camera stopped working and I no, no, I mean, I I get

what you mean. If you have it, it should work. But isn't that funny how we depend on those now? I do anyway? Go ahead, Well you have those huge cars on either side of you in a parking lot. I use it all, you know what. I can't believe there was a time we didn't have one. I use it all the time, right, And like I almost hit people, I almost hit a car, and I didn't feel safe. But part of the reason I didn't feel safe once I brought it in is they wouldn't let me leave with my car because

they told me this isn't safe. Wait a minute, and so they get wait a minute, they said it was. It was that it was a critical safety item, a rear backup camera. That and the navigation because they tell you you're supposed to put your phone in between the seat and you're supposed to not look at your phone while you're driving. Okay, but Leslie, they can't keep your car. What dealer are you dealing with? Wait?

Wait, hold on, hold on. So they send me home with this car and then they find out it's going to be months till a module is available, and they say, hey, you got to come back. We need the car back. And I was like, wait a second. You told me I couldn't take the car because it wasn't safe, and now you're telling me. So what I did is I parked the car and waited for the module to come in because I kept almost hitting. So how long did it take you, Leslie? How long did it take? Six months?

Well? No, no, that's unreasonable. I mean I would have gone. I would have gone through the len Well, now you can't do the lemon because it's it's four years old the car. Yeah, I would have driven anyway. Where do we stand today, Leslie? Where do we stand today? So I'm talking to this guy at AUDI and he goes to the Powers of Peak and they say, you know you're paying about one thousand dollars a month for your lease, plus you've got your insurance. They said,

we'll give you one thousand dollars a month until we get the module. Wait a minute, did you get that in writing? Wait? I got it checked for four thousand dollars. Oh my god that I find that impossible to believe. Congratulations, What do you are you calling? Are you calling to thank the dealer or what? So I talked to a friend of mine in the car business, and you're like, no way. Because I talked to the attorney. I was like, no, I'm going to do this on

my own. Anyways, they had my car for six or ifuse they didn't have my car. The module didn't come in for six months. So I called back and I said, hey, there's two thousand dollars missing on this check because, honest to god, I did not drive the car. For six months. I understand that, but you could have. You really could have. It's a fifty something thousand dollars car, but you can still drive. Look and I I am on your side, but you could have driven

it and plus take them. I would have done both. I would have taken the money and drove driven it. So in the paperwork I sent you, it says that they're going to give me one thousand dollars a month while the part's on order. But they they have it. So it's in writing in front of you. If you look at you, yeah, I'll get it. I'll get it. I believe you. Go ahead, but I want the last two thousand dollars because I this is a car that I was paying almost. Well, that's going to be easy. That's going to be

so easy. That's going to be so easy. I mean really, there's two ways. First we get Deputy Doc to call. He's sitting there and Doc you can call on this one, and I mean, it's easy. She's got it in writing. But the other one a small claims court. I mean, and that's people say, oh, Tom, why do you say that? Well, you know, Mark's proven to me that when you file and do this ninety percent of the time it speeds up. Well no, not yeah, ninety percent of the time they call in. They just

give you the money. They don't want to go to court. They know they lost. So listen, let's see yesterday, I'm sitting on a chair list and I've been talking to the guy at AUDI and I did you see yesterday you were sitting on the chair lift. Hey, I'm calling you. I'm standing on my skis on the side of the road. Wait a minute, how much snow do you have? And where are you? Well? Anybody that knows me knows that I find a way to ski every day,

and I'm at Loveland and I have the most scans of the year. But we shouldn't talk about that because I have a real business anyhow. So this this guy at AUDI and you have his name and number. By the way, I'm looking at your stuff and I don't see this promise for a thousand dollars. I mean, I see the check, But is it something I haven't marked with a little piece of pan on the side that they agree. I think it's on like the second to last page or the last page.

You mean, well, is it on the same thing that the check is on. I mean, you sent me an attachment and you showed me the four thousand dollars check. There were four pages before the check. I'm looking at him and I'm trying to find hold on. I'm trying to find the promise here. I mean, I believe you if you say it's there. Oh, okay, provided car payments to guests for the time down waiting on

parts. Got it, Okay, got it, saw it. So I talked to this guy at AUDI and he's like, well, you know that was four months is how long it took from the time we ordered it. I'm like, wait, you wait two months to order it because it was six months. And I just think Sarah is fair. My payment to them, it doesn't really say it doesn't really say it's weird. It's not as clear cut as you said it is, but it's something that I think they would pay you. That's what I would think. And I mean I used

to have a great relationship. I used to run there when this is a good way. Okay, I'm going to mention they are. I don't care McDonald group. They're they're good people, only good people. I love them. Day guy. That's ahead of it. But here's what it says. It just says, note provided car payments to guests for the time down waiting on parts. That's all it says. It doesn't say, well, oh, it doesn't treat the amount. No, it says car payment. What

was your car payment? One thousand dollars a month? Okay, so you're paying your car payment and and but it says while waiting for parts, and it was and and that you waited six months. Yeah, so it's pretty easy math. Well what do they say about that? He was like, no, that was that was the time that it took us, from the time we ordered to the time we received it. I was like, that's not that's not the truth. You know what. And by the way,

we're gonna have somebody called Leslie. You look familiar to me. I see this picture on your business card here. I don't know. He looks I've met you through uncle Pete. We must have, yes, okay. And by the way, I told the guy at Audi, I said, look, I said, I've called Tom Martina before in the past. I find you. I mean, I listened to your show. I love it. I love what you do. I called you once and I had a question, do I owe these people the money or not. And you said,

yes, I owe the people the money. I paid it and they came back and they clean up their job. So I've done what you said before. And I told the AUDI guys you know, and I asked him to come on, and he said, I'm gonna. I'm going to send this to our legal department. I'm gonna, you know, if like I don't want to cause problems. Yeah, hold on, we're gonna call hold on, let's just call on this and see what we can do. Three all

Hey Tom Archino, Hey,

listen, I'm gonna go to Chopper in a second. But wait, chop for chop. Oh, there you are. I wanted to take Mike first because we have our expert here. So Mike, tell me about your starter. Okay, I got a thirteen niece on rude and uh, I started yesterday. But when I go get in my car to take started, nothing at all. My mic and my battery good, good, my life on my dashboard. Wait, did it happen just all of a sudden right starting now? Okay, just all of a sudden, just did not start.

And you you know your battery is okay, my battery is perfect. I won't create, I won't even string the engine. Nothing, that is nothing. You don't even hear a click barely. But I've asked this for like ten minutes and I figured out. But hold on, hold on, Mike, I want to ask a few questions Mike, really quickly. When you get in your car, when you open the door, does anything come

alive? And ter your life will come on? Okay? And when you turn the key or press the button whatever you have, do you do the lights dim? Nope? Okay? Back do you? And and and this is really important. Do you hear anything when you press the ignition or turn the key? Well, I'll turn the key out. I can't hear nothing until I was messing with the I'm that's missing for about ten minutes and I figured it out. How to start it. I'll carry it. I'll turn

the key to on position, and the lights of the dashbhur. It's gonna go on. And then I'll hear like a buzzy noise or a spinning noise in my engine. And if once it goes off, I could start it. Let's start right up. But if I just started my buzzing or spind it, whatever it is, it won't do nothing. This is that is so annoying. Well, it could be something that just the benex and the starter it's not engaging proper. It could be a number of different things.

Yeah, but you're getting activity, so it just at first is dead, and then how do you get that to start spinning? When I took the key on to opposition, when I took you out to a positions, you can hear it like a fitting, a noise in the engine, and then you wait until that stops. When that stops, I threw the key to stop right up? Okay, But well he was trying to start it right away. It wasn't doing it. But he waits until he hears that noise

stops. So what's happening when he turns that key. When he turns that key, something is not engaging well, and he's only going to It's a relay not engaging. So when you turn the car on the relay, that's what you're hearing buzzing. It's it's trying to catch. But is that a mechanical relay in those cars in the twenty thirteen No? But would you still hear an electronic relay trying to engage? Okay? So it's trying to engage, and when you hear it stop, it engaged. That's why it starts.

So it's it's gonna be something easy to find. Do you do your own work? Minke? Is that why you're calling yes, I'm do door dash him. I really beat my car. I'm scared to go. I understand, But do you do your own mechanical work or can you drive by Shardan Autotech. They could pop, they could fix that at no time. Can they look at it, let me know what's wrong with about that? Yes they can, Yes they can, and they can probably do that complimentary.

You don't have to drop it off now. If they can't, they'll tell you. But most of the time they can give you a pretty good idea at first glance. Okay, I don't want no, you should, you should, and just say listen. You know, I was talking to Kevin on the radio and he said I could come by and just you guys would figure out maybe what's wrong with it and tell them. Yeah, just tell them, Okay, Mike, let me know what happens. Three oh

three seven one three eight two five five. Deputy Chopper. Deputy Chopper on the phone, and he has a follow up. Now, this kaw Wasaki. Let me look at this, the Kawasaki problem you're calling about. It's a mule, it's an ATV and she pays twenty four grand for this thing. And she's upset because she got a recall letter saying there's a risk of fire. Don't drive it. Now what does she do? You know? I mean, okay, now what does she do? They don't even have

an end date insight. They're not saying we have a fix. They're just saying, don't drive it. What's going on, Chopper? What did you find out? Well? Just about everything she said is true. I did call several Kawasaki dealers and they do have a no sell, no drive, don't do anything. And the men from fun Kawasaki ran her vin and she's on that list. The bottom line is they've got six of them sitting in their showroom. They can't do anything with them. They want to fix,

he says. Normally when this happens, it's a forty five to sixty day eight and that's about all they can do. Oh my gosh, that's it. You like her to leave it? I mean, there's nothing you can do about it. I bet you she can sell it, but she's going to take a big hit on that. Well, she can't even start it up. Once you got that notice, it's if you started up, you're out of warranty. If it catches fire, it's yours do they know what they're fixing. Yet, No, they don't. They said they have a

theory on it, but they don't know. Oh man, okay, I'm going to contact her and let her know it. They're telling her the truth the dealership and yeah, well okay, that's a big consolation. They're telling the truth. Was so what now? What? What the hell? I mean? They're basically saying our mules are useless? That's correct, Tom. What's the timetable? Did you say, what's the outside timetable? She told me his experience forty five to sixty days. Have they had these before,

these problems? No, this is a brand new Actually there's a YouTube about it also, and it's only five days old. Oh, it's on YouTube already. Yes, it is same thing. Don't start it, don't fix it. And if you have to bring it back to the dealer, push it onto the trailer. Well, man, they don't even want you to start it to get it on the trailer. That's correct, Tom, All right, thank you Chopper for checking that out. Three oh three seven one

You get my dinger ready. Steve had a problem with a contract to Ben Ortez and said he owed him a one thousand dollars. I remember that, sir. What happened with it? I got in touch with Ben and I just got a call from Steve that he received one thousand dollars from Otz and bullet Man. He

said he never would have done it if we hadn't intervened. Man, that is so good, because I mean I didn't think there was a prayer here getting that money. Oh, I got on the case. Yeah, and I told him if they didn't do I was gonna send Kelly after him. Oh, that did it right there? No, we heard that and he ponied up the money. Seriously, when what was his name? When did he call in? I want to mark that solved. Oh his name was Steve Sagan seg Oh, I don't give anything less. It was Ben Otez

ben Ortez. Okay, wow, you know what again? I posted something, by the way, I posted it on all our stuff, including TikTok. I've been doing that for the hell of it now and then, And man, did I get a lot of negative comments when I posted no money down? I posted no money down, and uh people got pissed at me. Well, gop to me the contract or the contract. I'm saying, why am I supposed to trust you? But you can't trust me if you listen to it. I'm right and they're wrong. So listen to it.

Now you're sounding like Mark. No, no, well no, on the no money down. The way I presented it, I was right and they're wrong because I said you should pay for work done, and that includes plans, that includes all kinds of stuff, materials delivered, blah blah blah. But I'm not going to pay you half down or a third down and wait three or four or six weeks for you to show up. I'm not going to do it. I'm sorry. Then that money starts becoming your money.

You start patent, you start petting it, you start loving it, you start spending it. Hell no, hell no, shop or excuse me, Chow, I'm sorry, Chow. Chow's on the line, Chow. What's happening with you? Sir? What can we do for you? Yeah? Peace, IM just trying uh comming company to do my walk for fix up the pumping and okay, what was wrong with your plumbing? Chow of the party will be okay, why now, but only after they flew up the whole? What what did you have them come to your house for fix up

the pumpy? Fixed up? But yeah, but they have to take a whole to fix up the under lee of the under Was it your drain? Was it your drain? Maybe the main the main line? The main the main line? Yes? Okay? And what happened? What did they do wrong? Nothing? Wrong? But while after they put the concrete, after they free up the whole, but while under the concrete, they got a whole, we'll be sinking kind of thing, whole under the concrete. Oh

them four times? Yeah? I called him four times already, think the last truth? Last four days? And where is this concrete? Is it in your basement? It's a side okay, okay, got it. So Chao is saying that he called a plumber to do the drain, and when they put the concrete back over it, it is sinking. Did the concrete crack not? Yeah? Yeah, but we'll be pretty certain they should come. They should do some mud jacking under there. That's an easy fix.

They can inject mud under there to make that solid. They won't come back. They don't contact me at all because I called him four times and the lady told me, And what's the name of the company, A surface AAA? What A surfaces services services? Yeah? AAA services? Yeah, I I yeah, I've heard of them before. How did you find them? I always say, you are soaper? I thought said you will. Yeah, I thought we would be. You told no, I don't. I

don't know. They're not on my referral list. But I was just curious how you found them. We have an A A emergency tree service. We have an AA A concrete raising company. We have an AA A home improvements. But we don't have a A A services. But it doesn't matter. We can still help you. They're not even calling you back. That's you know what, that's you know that doesn't that's not right. So what we need to do? When did they do the work? Chow lender last year?

So Kachina Calori tried to warn me about something about posting to TikTok, and I didn't listen to her. So she said, a man of my age should be on Instagram. It doesn't matter if I want to do both. I just want to, but I'll get to that later. I want to, I don't want to keep people waiting. Now, let's let's get Chow somebody

to call Chow. Did did triple a service plumbing, heating and electric? Did they pour the concrete or did they work underneath it through the whole thing? Okay, then we need to call them. Who should we give this to Kachina? Because uh, I really think we should put in a call to this. It's it's not unreasonable for him to to talk to them. Maybe they didn't tamp the soil properly. Be Deputy Boat. He's coming in at noon. Excellent, excellent, all right, so Chow, we'll be

back in touch with you. Deputy Marvel, how are you. What's happening? Oh my gosh, This poor woman, Julie has a major issue. Yeah, with the water heater right in her place. Yeah. So she's at this season's apartment. Apparently the building's about forty years old. She called in on Tuesday. I called her Wednesday, May eighth, and I got the full story. She's had problems with her hot water. Well. She moved into a new apartment five nineteen in December of twenty twenty three. January

of twenty twenty four, the problem started all over again. Prior to that she was in an apartment four nineteen, yeah, and had major water problems for two years. So she doesn't even have hot water for her dishwasher. Does she have kids? Do you know? I think she's seventy seven, and I think she lives alone. Okay, so what are why? Why is this place you know, because of I call it habitability standards? Of course, that's what everyone calls it. Why is it that they're not taking

care of it? I honestly can't believe it. I wouldn't put up with this for three days, let alone five months, you know? But she says she's she gets intermittent hot water in her bathroom. Okay, did you talk to the landlord? Well? I well, I called uh uh, let's see, I called on five. I called the maintenance first, and what did they say? I mean, they basically said, yes, it's true. No, I haven't been able to talk to anybody. So the

guy Chris in maintenance. Absolutely. I left a couple of messages and then I was calling back, yeah make this, and Chris hung up on me immediately when I had done playing Why what oh really could be? Okay? Hold on, no, no, I think we I think we should put the number out. When people hang up on us, there's no excuse for that. That sucks. I want to get the name of the apartment complex. eight two five five. Uncle Kevin's here, and Kevin somebody wanted to know when you said things are slowing down in the auto repair industry, they wanted to know something. Could it be this is a Texter. By the way, you can text me five seven seven three nine, or you can go on YouTube. I make comments there. And by the way, they want to know if the auto you said, the repair business maetance down just a

little tick where there you're feeling it. There used to be out a month and two and now as you know, some dealers are saying just a few days or a week or two or way less than a week. But could it be that this weather is not really cold and not really warm, so you're not getting air conditioning problems, overheating a drive ability and you're not getting cold weather problems. Is that possible? That's what I'm saying is does that

Does a shoulder season affect the auto business like it does home services? It hasn't over the last couple of years. But that's why I say it's getting more back to normal to work. Springs fall are slow times. Okay, so if you're in between extremes, the maintenance and repairs go down. Correct, Okay, that could be well, they had, like I said, two years good observation. Now we're helping chow out off the air with AAA services or service plumbing, heating and whatever, and they they did a job.

You know, the worst thing you can do in a company is not call people back to address ab even if you think it's not your problem. Go out and look at it, or talk to them and say, you know what, we don't feel this is our problem. Just just do it. Make people feel heard and important and counted. Now, Deputy Marble's trying to help this eighty some on your old woman who has no hot water and other plumbing problems. She called maintenance and they hung up on her. Did

Marvel? Did he even wait to hear what you had to say, Deputy Marble? He's seventy seven, but yeah, no, what she's wait wait, oh she's seventy seven. She's seventy seven. Oh, I'm sorry. Okay, she's placed. At least it doesn't requests. They have replaced her kitchen faucet, and they told her to leave her cabinet kitchen cabinet doors open so the types can warm up. I thought that was ridiculous, and I

did call Megan, the assistant manager. She I left her message and then she refused to talk to me. When I finally got a hold of her, she said she would not address the issue with me. I tried, did she Okay, that's fine. I don't mind if people don't talk to us, as long as they talk to the consumer. I mean, so, when she said we're not going to discuss it with you, did she say they would take care of it. They immediately sent an email to Julie

saying it would be taking care of yesterday. So Julie told me to back off. She wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. I called her this morning and nothing. No one showed up and nothing has been done. And I asked her other people were experiencing this in the building, because she was told she was the only one that was complaining. And apparently there are quite a few people who are complaining about the water in the building. No hot water. Not only that, but they turn off the hat or

turn off the water completely quite frequently. What So I did attempt to call Lauren, who's a VP of bro real Estate that just bought out. Oh that's a good thing, that would be our next step, but apparently she's unavailable until Monday, and left two other a regional property manager and a regional maintenance director in charge, but you can only reach them by email. Well you know what, though, you're doing the right thing, and that's why

we have Marvel on the case because she's tenacious. Now here's the deal. Listen, seriously, we got to stay on top of this and then I'll give the numbers out. I want to give them at least till Monday, and I want you to make a few more calls today, emails, and then what we'll do is revisit this on Monday. Thank you, Deputy Marvel. We got That's what we have. We have a great team right now of deputies. I can't believe how cool they are. Even Deputy Doc is

okay. I swear to God. I think he's okay now and he's sitting in the studio alone. So there you go. Hey, uh, if you have a problem, question, playing complaint, give us a call. Mother's Day. Oh, I want to first talk about Kachina Kaschina. Chlory warned me about not posting to TikTok. Her daughter did. Her daughter said he's a little old for TikTok. Maybe he should go to uh Instagram or

something. Get a little side insult there. But and then Facebook now got to you know, I don't post a Facebook, but maybe I should. But Facebook has a reputation of being for old people. Did you know that now? Yeah? Instagram and Facebook kind of old, right, Kachina, According to your daughter, the social media maven. First of all, she did not say that you were old. She said in your age range, it might be better to you. Now, what does that? Okay?

What does that? Okay? That's code. Anyways, listen people, you know, people of your kind usually live here. How you listen? Listen, Here's what I want to say. She was kind of right. So I go on there. Let me just tell you there's an audience. I have no idea, no clue. It's like a different planet. I posted about timeshare condos. You remember, I got canceled, so I had to

get on again. And then this time what I did was made sure when I posted the videos I didn't put I think last time they didn't like that I was putting. I don't know. I put my website on there. I think I think that's what it was. They don't tell you what it is. So anyway, I started a new account and I put up the timeshare condo thing, and what do I call timeshare condos? You remember? Financial herpies? Now it was a great post, a really good post,

if I must say so myself. It's very very informative. And I like doing that because you know it. Okay, So I did it, and I did a little shorter version than I did for regular, but to make a long story short, I posted it. And what really shocked me about it all just shocks me is that I'm just gonna I'm just gonna tell I'm just gonna play some of it. Listen. I can't tell you how many times I get inquiries about time share condos and how to get rid of them.

People get stuck. I call them financial herpes. Think about it. You get this time share? Yeah, pay maybe twenty five, thirty forty fifty thousand dollars sometimes in a mortgage. Then you have to pay yearly maintenance fees. They are ridiculous. And you do it all what for a week or two at the resort that you probably will never use, and even if you do use it, it's way expensive. Okay, So you get the gist. Now, what did I get complaints about? Did I get comments?

Yes? And what did I hear about the comment? All they talked about was you shouldn't make fun of herpes? There you go, and and that was it. And then the entire what did they call it? When you hijack that thread? And then all the comments were about herpes? I deleted as many as I couldn't. I said the hell with its just the other one to talk about was herpes and how they cured their herpes. And I wanted to get this across, and I just put the I don't know,

So that's isn't that weird? Isn't that weird? It's the demographic tom that's on TikTok, See what did you doing making fun of my herpees?

So you have to understand these are the same kids that are protesting at Princeton and Columbia, and they're asking for there in their demands, we need the morning after pill condoms and which has nothing to do with Hamas or has nothing to do with Gaza, or has nothing to do with Israel, but that's what they were demandic So you just kind of have to understand the generational stuff.

Now, on that topic of college protests, I have to admit I was a college protest I did all kinds of stuff for causes, right, I don't remember destroying property. Maybe we did, come on, you know, don't you remember that? How about four dead in Ohio? Remember Ohio that was turned into a song that protest. I mean, it was a terrible time and I grew up during that time. But we protested, Okay, we weren't always right. And I don't know if people are upset about

the protesting. They're upset about the the violence and the threats to the Jewish kids and the disruption of classes. I think, But in any case, have you noticed the media though, And I want to know if anyone else notices this. Every day they concentrate on the attacks Israel, the attacks Israel, what they're doing to Gaza, and only what they're doing to children and so called and I mean so called. I shouldn't even say that innocent civilians

are uninvolved civilians. Now Israel says we're trying to route out Hamas, and many of these people cover for Hamas, they want hamas. So I think in the beginning, people says, you know what, Israel should stick up for themselves. I think the tide is turning because I think people are perceiving that Israel's response is over the top. Don't you think that's what it is?

Now? I'm not agreeing or disagreeing. I'm saying that's really what they're saying right now is that it's a human svanitarian thing, no longer a self protection thing. And I'm not again, I'm not saying yeah, yeah, yeah, you know, keep protesting. But I'm saying, only an idiot looks at the world and refuses just a little to look at reasons behind people's actions right now, Ka China brought out it's way deeper than that, Tom. They just want to protest. They're just looking for a cause so they

can make their demands. And that could be so too anyway. Three all three, seven, one, three, eight, two five five. Cindy, what's going on with your HVAC? Then I have to take a break. I just want to get started. What's going on, Cindy. It's actually just I have a question in regard to rather going like the heat pump source or just sticking with a furnace. Oh, that's a really good discussion. That's a really good discussion actually, and it's not a really quick answer.

But hold on and I'll give you exact, exact information on when you should do what. Right after this, go with a sure thing Denver's Best roofer Excel Roofing dot com. You'll think you're his only customer when you choose Frank durand the real estate Man dot com to list your home with Remax Alliance three oh three nine two zero sixteen twenty two. Hi Tom Martino, you're a troubleshooter. Three O three seven one three Talks Cindy, you talked about heat pumps, So let me ask you a few questions. Do you live in Colorado? Actually I live in New Mexico, but just barely over the border, down in the four corners. Okay, man, what's the what's

the mean temperature like in the winter? We usually never get I don't know about the mean, but usually never get much below like sixteen seventeen degrees? Okay, Now, what kind of energy source do you have? Do you have regular electric or do you have solar? I do have solar on the roof. I just had that installed this last year. How many watts do you have on solar? Oh? That part I don't know. Okay. Now how old is your furnace? It's twenty plus years old and I'm on

propane. Okay, now that's very important to know. Operating a heat pump will be a little more expensive still electric. But the biggest thing is a heat pump doesn't really work well in freezing tempertures. Okay, they usually it. They'll work to about forty degrees really well, okay, maybe thirty five degrees, but below freezing, they're not great. They're better than they used to be, but they're not great. They will supplement, but not replace

a furnace under thirty five degrees. However, with you, if you have solar, it is wonderful because even though it's all electric and it's way cheaper than electric resistance heat, which is a baseboard heat, you will definitely save money using a heat pump as much as you can since you have a solar system. However, you cannot not replace your furnace. You're going to have to eventually replace your furnace. You can't do just a heat pump in your

situation. Yeah, And because I was kind of looking at it as because I have a ton of breeding. I also have a wood burning stove, so that's helpful. And seeing that it's New Mexico, yes we can get that cold. But like many times during the winter in the day, we're forty and above. You know, that's right, you are, that's right, And so really what you want if I were you, I would get

a pretty good furnace, you don't have to go overboard. And then I would get a heat pump, and I would run the heat pump automatically, and you can get that. You can get a switch over thermostat or whatever. I would run the heat pump to wherever you want forty degrees thirty degrees thirty maybe, and then switch over to the furnace. And you will save a ton of money because you have that solar system. And by the way, when you do get a heat pump, it seems very expensive. Ah,

that's true. That is true. So you'd use the heat pump as much as possible. So get a high efficiency heat pump that goes down to those temperatures and what you want with these heat pumps. Uh, they're they're really good. Uh, just just try to get one. But I would not you you can't not have a furnace. You're gonna have to have a furnace for the extreme cold to supplement unless unless, of course, some people with wood stoves would do wood stoves and then the heat pump and the wood

stove is enough to take the edge off. But that's really up to you. And you can keep the old furnace until it dies and then replace it. That's what I was kind of leaning towards. It's just with it being propane, with me having the solar, I thought it might be a good idea to try it. And plus, sure, for sure it would. I mean you're basically gonna get free heat with the heat pump and solar. Yeah, and plus and then I get central air during the summer because they

do bowls. Yeah, and I don't have central air right now. Oh no, no, then you'll want yeah because because all heat pumps are air conditioners and then the heat pump is the reverse cycle. Oh, that would be excellent for you, especially if you don't have air conditioning. You will love it. Yeah. Well, I have a wind, you know, the window air conditioning in the bedroom and then one of the portable ones out

in the living room, and they they cost too much. Yeah, well I'm new Mexico gets you know, one hundred degrees and it's hard sometimes. And the people I bought the house from painted at dark Well they have partyboard sighting, but it's dark blue. Oh by the way, by the way, hardyboard. Hardyboard's not going to last if it's too dark. I know. I didn't put it on there. They did, Yeah, but repainted, but I'll probably wind up doing yes no for energy efficiency and for the

life of your sighting repainted. How large is are small? What size is your house? It's about sixteen hundred square feet Okay, so not big, which is good. So with it, you're going to have a pretty good heat pump that's going to be able to handle it, and you're gonna love it. If you have duct work already, then right, yep, good and you're all set up for it. Cindy, Yeah, I have a quote from one of the plumbing places down here, one of the hvacs.

And so how long have you lived there? I've lived here, this will be three years now and where'd you move from? I well, originally I'm from Illinois, but I used to live in Colorado, Okay, so really you know the other thing, there are tax credits and incentives from power companies available for those high efficiency systems if you get one. Look into that. Yeah, I was going to talk to my tax guy because you know, I've already done the solar stuff. And then also talk to the electric company.

My electric company is actually run through farm the city of Farmington. They're the ones who provide the electric and then talk to them because I know the HVAC company doesn't offer it. They you have to get it yourself. Well yeah, yeah, but they but but yeah, that's right. But you should go online too as well. In search there are sometimes things available people

don't even know about. Hi Tom Martinez here three all three seven one three talk three

oh three seven one three eight two five five. So somebody texted me and said, how is it a poor woman seventy seven years old can't get hot water and she's paying rent, But there are migrants demanding hot showers unlimited. Well, because people treat you the way you teach them to, they do. Now, by the way, I'm not going to paint a broad broad brush picture here of all migrants or immigrants for people coming in. There are

some really good people that need help. There are some people that are taking advantage. There are people of all kinds, and that goes for everyone. So the thing is this, there are people, though, that take advantage, and the more you give, the more they take. There are even great people who want to work and want to help themselves, but if you help them too much, you literally could end up ruining their incentive. There is a delicate balance in all of these years of helping people try to get

on their feet, there is a delicate balance. Too much help disincentivize people and kids. Too little help is not enough. It's just weird. But I think in all cases, in all cases, I don't care who you are, it would happen to me, It would happen to anyone. If you get too much help too much, too often, you automatically start not doing as much. If you get no help, you could possibly get discouraged to where you dig yourself a hole and it's hard to get out. We

all know that, right don't we. We want to help people that want to help themselves, right don't we. I don't think there's anyone selfish enough to say, ah, no matter why you shouldn't have come here. I mean maybe, but I doubt it. I doubted three oh three seven one three talk seven one three eight two five five. So what do women want? What do mothers? I shouldn't say women, I'm gonna get in trouble. I should say what do mothers want? Because, as we know that

controversy. You can't to find a woman, you can't find a mother. So let's just say the mother part of the parental unit. What do they want for Mother's Day? What do you think? There was a survey done and I wish Mark was signed on today because what they don't want are frying pans and vacuum cleaners. Mark, No, I love bashion him when he can't be on that, maybe that's even better. Yeah, Mark, they don't have vacuum cleaners, and they don't want frying pans, and they don't

want whatever. Here's what they do want, and I don't know. Thirty six percent of them just want to be taken out to eat for a meal and drinks and a celebration. Taken out, not home at home. They do it right. So thirty six percent. By the way, Ah, there is no giant majority. I thought we'd see forty to fifty sixty percent say I want this or I want that, like rings or jewelry. No, no, thirty six percent want to be taken out. So do yourself

a favor and take your mom, the mom in your life. It could be your mom, or could be your wife who is a mom to your children, and just do it now. The other one is there's something else, there's more flowers. Thirty one percent flowers satisfy thirty one percent they say, you know what, but think about this though, That means, you know, seventy percent don't want flowers. I never thought of it that way. Actually, if you look at this, all of the reciprocals are larger

than the preferences. All of them are. Thirty six percent want drinks and a meal to go out. Thirty six percent. What does that mean about the others? The other sixty some odd percent they don't care that much about that. Thirty one percent want flowers. That leaves just seventy percent that don't care about flowers. Wow, I never thought of this. Twenty nine percent want something handmade. Now I assume they're talking about from their children, right.

I mean, I guess if your husband brings you a construction paper thing made with or paper mache, you wouldn't be too happy. I don't know, Kichina. Does your husband go all out for you? What do your kids do for you? I am I am the most horrible person to buy for because I don't like chocolate. I don't like flowers because they die and I think it's a waste of money. I do like plants, so plants are always good. And then I don't like jewelry because the only thing I

wear jewelry whise are ear rings. So Adam struggles with us every year, and usually it's just Okay, what do you want to do. It's a very spur of the moment thing, and also what do you want? What do you want? Seriously, what do you want? Oh gosh, to sleep? Just a day to be like, Okay, I'm not going to do anything today. I'm just going to lay in bed and watch really bad movies from the eighties. Hey, that's pretty cool actually, and do something

like that. And he has Actually that's pretty cool. I think that sounds like fun. Yeah, he actually has done that before. And he pops me popcorn and you know, you know, he takes care of me. Yeah. I don't. I don't think that's bad at all. That's kind of a cool thing. In any case, I think that people don't. I don't know what do they do that's different. I want to know people who do. Give me something different that you've done for the mother in your

life. Three O three seven one three talks seven one three eight two five five. I'd like to know, give me, give me, give me a good idea. What what is it that you want? As a mom tell us three oh three seven one three eight two five five. Now we have more coming up on the Troubleshooter Show. I'm reading more about by the way, these heat pumps, they're getting more and more powerful where they can work in a bit colder temperatures than they used to. Some say they can,

you know, they can actually work below freezing. But they're pretty expensive. So if you don't have solar, wouldn't be a good idea. And some people say it would serve you to upgrade your insulation if you're going to do a heat pump, because they are a bit more expensive to operate, and even if you do have solar, you get more for your more bang for your buck if you do insulate as well. And there are all kinds

of incentives right now from the government to insulate. Okay, so thirty six percent going out to eat, thirty one percent flowers, twenty nine percent, something handmade, twenty eight percent, a card, a gift card that is twenty eight percent, twenty four percent just a regular card, they'd be happy. So there you go with Mother's Day. And I want to know what mothers do not want? How about that? What do you not want? If you're a mom, could you please tell us what do you not want?

I'm going to assume it's not a vacuum cleaner you don't want one, and I'm going to assume you don't want a frying plan, but I could be wrong on that. and uh, what's your comment? So, first of all, everyone should go to iTunes or whatever however they get their digital music and search out a song called I Owe You by Jimmy Dee. But I owe you Okay, okay, make sure you have at least an entire box of Kleenics. Really, or you listen to that song, no fooling, okay, it'll tear you up. Wow. The second comment is, as far as Mother's Day

gifts, nothing is more appropriate than your time. No matter how old your mom is, no matter what her condition, there are things that she needs done that you can do for her. And I'm not just talking on Mother's Day. I'm talking once a week, or twice a month, or whenever you have time. Give her your time. Cool, very thoughtful. Now, did you say Jimmy Dean, Yeah, the sausage Guy. Yeah,

Jimmy Dean. Yeah, there's a recording star backed in the day. I was cleaning out my wallet the other day and I ran across hold this, Jimmy Dean. I owe you some of them thirty years overdue. Funny thing is that all these I owe yous are owed to one person. Sounds like a great song day. I kind of feel like right now might be a pretty good time for an accounting mom. You listener, man, this is good old fashioned stuff. I owe you for so many Okay, I get

it, I get it. I think that's that's gonna sound nice there, Mike, thank you, thank you for that. Really, Mariah, what's good? Or Mari? I'm sorry, Mari? Is it SAIDs? Mari? You got it? Hey, what's going on? Mari? I was just going to make a comment about Mother's Day. I know that all I ever wanted for my kids not to fight and to maybe pick up around the

house. And honestly, I think the biggest goal is just taking something off of your mom's shoulders for that time, not necessarily doing an activity or giving a gift, just having her do less work around the house in that one day. So that was my comment. Hey, Mari, what generation are you like? I'm just curious because what you say rings true. I think I think I'm now may I might be wrong for older moms, middle age or older. I think, yeah, I am middle aged year older.

I am thinking and I'm maybe I'm wrong. But do you think that the more I see dads, young dads and moms we walk at wash Park and the health club and restaurants, I see dads doing a hell of a lot more than they used to do. Am I wrong on that? I don't know about that, but I think I think that men do. I think men are doing more with their kids. However, my husband was always very hands on, so it was never about that. It was just we always

had real traditional roles. I think we just kind of fell into them where you know, I would do the grocery shopping, in the house, pleaing, and you know, he did other things. So frankly, I think I just wanted to break from what I did every day. That's all. Thank you, Mario. I appreciate that they're more hands on. Thank you. I hope you have a happy Mother's Day. Okay, marian I want to hear comments everybody out there, Okay, thank you. I want to

hear from other people, like really about their mom's day? What do they want? I don't have my mom around, unfortunately, but but I used to try to make her day special. Now, am I right? Young moms that you don't have it the way your mom or her mom had it. I think there's no way for me to know because my kids aren't married right now. But what I observe, I observe a lot of young dads taking a more active role in everything. I know dads who clean the house,

I know dads who cook, I know dads who shop. I know dads who take care of kids. I'm not saying moms don't do it, but I think it's more of a shared thing. Or am I wrong? Now? Maybe that depends on your culture as well. What kind of family did you grow up in? What are younger dads and younger moms expecting of each other? And of course, if both of you work, See I know a lot of young couples that work in the home, I mean out of their home, right they In other words, they work in the home

on it or public relations or customer service. A lot of people are remote working. So if a mom and dad are both home, wouldn't you think they're both equally going to be responsible for stuff? Or if they're both outside of the homeworking, then they would be equally responsible. I mean I think it would be. I don't think. I hope there aren't still men who go out to work and a woman goes out to work and then they come home and the woman works at home. I don't know. Anyway, we

got more coming up. Not terrible overloaded with car calls.

Some days we get more than we know. It is Mother's Day weekend coming up and I was asking moms what they want, or dads about their opinions about their duties. I really want to know if there are more shared duties now with younger dads, new dads, younger people. I think there is what I perceive when I see and restaurants and health clubs and at the parks, I see the dads taking a more active role. I'm not sure if

that extends to home. I don't think it's a foregone conclusion that a wife is going to do the so called wifely duties, the washing and the cleaning and the cooking, and I mean, I don't think so. And you know, if they're both working, oh absolutely, you know, yeah, and you're right, You're right, obviously, or if one's working the other far yeah. But I'm curious about moms. And then I'm curious from Diane,

if you want to chime in, what do moms want? I saw a survey that say they don't really want much, I mean really, and some of the texts I'm getting and emails from moms are saying they just want a day to relax, truly relax and have and more so than even a gift. What do you think Diane, Well, I'll tell you what means

the most to me. Flowers are beautiful and everything and gifts and taking out the most important thing to me is when I get these beautiful cards, and inside the cards they write things like thank you for this, you did this for me, that for me, and this is what I appreciate about you. This is one of your most wonderful qualities. Then as the years go by, I have a pile of cards and I can read, Oh, this is what they wrote me when they were twelve, when they were fifteen,

when they were that's cool. I love that. I just love it. And then also it comes from the heart. You know that they're really thinking about it, Yes, because it's really their heart on paper. It's like, Mom, you did this for me. I loved what you did. I love what you got me, and I love where you took me. And then I have cards that I can look at. You know, my kids are all grown, I can look back at the cards they sent when they were twelve and ten. I love that. To me, that's

that's the gift. That is the gift. Thank you that you know what that's really well put. Man. I didn't think I get such off for replies thank you Diane, you know, and the other mom said, just take something off my plate for the day. Let me really truly have a day. I mean, my god, you think about that asking for a day. I mean, when you think about it, I do think in general, moms have always had most of the burden around the house. That's

just the way it's been. They've had most of the burden. So this would be a good question. I wonder if that's just the way it is, that there's always one who picks up the slack. I'd like to talk to a gay couple have that has kids. I wonder if there's one that takes a more motherly role and one that takes the more fatherly role, or is it more divided. I'd really love to know that. Hmm. Also I'd like to know our younger dads taking a more active role. Like I

said, and what do you want? The survey says you want to go out. You don't want to eat at home, you want to go out, and then you want flowers. That second, Hey Tom, some people go all out, Hey Tom, Yes, the question you just ant, like asked about the couple thing. Yeah, there are lines of demarcation that just naturally apply, and Kevin can attest to this. In my own situation, I know nothing about cars. Oh okay, I see what you're saying.

So so Adam picks up that portion of it. I look at the lawnmower and it scares the hell out of me, So he mows the lawn if it needs to be mode it snows, the snow plows scares the crap out of me, So he plows the snow. And that's really because of the way you grew up too. I mean, I imagine there are girls who grew up helping their dad with cars. Maybe, but I think there

are just normal lines of demarcation. And then on the flip side of that, men have this eerie ability to basically screw things up on purpose, so they're not asked to do it again. So if you but no, this is what I'm saying. This is why there's a lot more work put on the female or the women of a relationship because you know, we're not going

to mow the lawn because we know that we can't do it. But if you know, since you know, we ask our husband, okay, can you you know, I don't know, go pick me up some Italian parsley at King Supers. No, no, I get what you're saying, you know, and then he gets me Cilantro. So now I know that he doesn't want to go to King Supers ever again to get me anything. I mean, you know, I don't know if it was Italian family or just ethnic families, because my mom, you know, having parents closer to the

old country as opposed to nowadays. But my mom would never let us ever ever, there's not We all learned to cook. It wasn't only the girls learned to cook. And my ass was in the kitchen, and I mean I literally had to learn how to cook. She taught me how to sew iron my class. She goes this, here's what she says. We're not doing this even back then, we're don't. You don't leave this to a woman. If you're living on your own, you need to do this or

you need to do that. I learned it all and she never said, oh, this is normally for a girl, but I'm going to teach you. It was normal. It was like, you're going to learn this so school mornings when when she was making breakfast, six mere, I want to show you what I'm doing and she would show me and then boom. I

mean we learned how to do all this. It was when I didn't realize what a privilege it was until I went away to college and or had my place at college and I had another Apololi was my my roommate, an Italian guy, and we lived like kings. We cooked, we cleaned, we had beautiful places, and no one could believe it. They thought we were like from another planet because they didn't know how to take care of themselves.

So three O three seven one three Tom. Yeah, I always send a Mother's Day card to I asked wife, because I always thank her for being such a good mom to my son. Of course, yeah, yeah, I would your mother. Divorced dads do that too. I wonder you know, with split families, it's pretty hard. I'll tell you what the most

difficult thing is. And I've seen this happen with friends and stuff, where the mom and dad are split and there's Mother's Day and the stupid dad insists that the son do something for the stepmom and he doesn't really have a relationship with her, the son or daughter, they really they might like her and accept her, but it's not her mom it's not their mom, you know, and and but they insist, no, no, no, you know, we want you to, you know, spend part of the day with

your mom, and then you've got to come and spend with the stepmom or whatever they call her. And you can't force that kind of crap. There's really only one mother. And if your mother, I guess, abandons you or passes away, I guess it's step mom is going to do right. And sometimes stepmoms are your mom, and or adopted moms of course, and dads. It's a very weird time though, for some who are strange from

their parents. One thing I could never understand. I can see even being estranged from siblings, but what I never understood was where someone says, I have nothing to do with my mother or I have nothing to do with my father, well, actually with the father thing. If they abandon you, I had that. I can see that. I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about when you grow up and they were normal moms and dads and now you hate them. I mean, we've had this. We hear that

about this all the time. Now, JD, what's going on with you? Welcome to the show. What's going on? To talk about malpractice. Well, no practice, I guess would be the tell me what's going on. I worked with cows and I with these hundred mile and hour winds we've had out here in the prairie here, Ladily, I found some Indian artifacts. I live out in northeastern Colorado. So I've been digging around in the

dirt and cut my finger. Somehow one or or the other ended up with an infection, but I thought was an infection side all the dirt and stuff. I went to the emergency room and explained to him that I thought there may be something different going on. And you told him you cut your finger and you were digging in dirt. So you got a tetanus shot? Right? Oh? I had one last year because I broke them off my finger, And oh, I get it. Did you go to an er by the way or an urgent care? I did? I did? I did?

I went to an er because I really thought they might might admit me. Yeah, I got a bunch of dirt. Was it really bad to cut on your hand to go to an er? Well? No, okay, so anyway, what did they do? I didn't initially I want to go to the doctor I'm not a person who goes to the doctor right now. No, I understand, But you went to the er and what's wrong?

Well, I explained to him that I had this cut and that deliver issues on my skin or under my skin that were causing pallems, and I thought it might be related to the cut, that it could be infected in some way, to some type of virus or parasite. And yeah, so they took me into the waiting room. How old are you, by the way, fifty five city boards? Okay, so what else? What happened? Then set me down and to the doctor be here shortly and left.

Didn't do any of the pre checking thing, are you so? And so this is your data bird something like that? And I word and yes, are you there? Did we lose there? Okay? Hey, can you hold on a second. I want you to finish your story, JD. I want to try to help you here. Hold on because I really mean that. Three h three seven to one three talks seven one three two five

Hi Tom Martino, your troubleshooter three O three seven one three talk seven one three eight two five five. So JD went to a hospital with a cut on his hand after digging in the dirt. He went to the er. Continue Jr. Did they fix the cut? Actually, Tom, I think we're at contrary

purposes here. I told to get a recommendation for a good malpractice attorney. Oh no, I I we absolutely have people we we but I wanted to I wanted to find out a certain and I'm not willing to disposed a whole lot of the story online without talking to an attorney first, are we? Yeah? But JD, just so you know what we most most malpractice attorneys they don't really I mean, they're not going to talk a lot until they know there's at least something there. And the other thing is this, I

talked to an attorney. Okay, I'll see it. Take it easy, bro, good luck. And I think you're crazy anyway. And I was going to go there, but you went there by yourself. JD wants to talk to an attorney. And I'll tell you what JD's problem is. He's mentally ill. I could hear it from the start. Okay, he's mentally

ill. He went to the hospital and they didn't give many treatment because there was nothing wrong with his hand, but he mentioned something about something eating away at his hand or as could be something as a result of the dirt. And this is classic Morgellon's disease. There, they're my amateur assessment of him in five seconds. And first of all, JD, if you knew anything about malpractice, nobody knows who you are, nobody knows where you went.

You can discuss each and every detail and it wouldn't hurt your case. But go ahead, go ahead and start finding an attorney. You won't find one. Morgellon's disease is highly controversial. It's poorly understood. But people start thinking they have some kind of parasite he even mentioned that, and they get it from the ground, or they get it from someone else, or they get

it from dirty can conditions. But really what happens is it always accompanies something emotional, an emotional trauma in someone's life or some kind of life threatening thing that then turns into a condition that they can now manifest and they can concentrate on and they can seek help for We've had people who call this show with Margallen's disease that literally peeled their skin off trying to get at it, or

they've burned themselves or they scraped themselves with files. It is a terrible thing and it's not real. Hasn't Marked On to a couple of these people and found that there's absolutely nothing there. Well, Mark went for a few that said there were parasites and stuff, but not on their skin. Well maybe it was something and they were little carpet fibers. Yeah, he's visited his share of Looney's. Now, the exact cause of Morgellon's disease is not officially.

First of all, it's not officially recognized as a disease or medical conditions. It's a mental it's a mental condition. So what happens is he goes to the hospital looking for help and they don't know what to do for him. So then he thinks he's got he wants to do the malpractice thing, okay, and that's where that happens. In fact, many people with Mark

Gallon's disease, they blame the medical officials for not finding the reason. Now, this can manifest it self in the It always manifests it self in the skin. However, there are other forms. They're not called Mark Gallon's disease, but other forms of psychostatic illness cause from emotional distress and trauma, one of them being chronic fatigue syndrome syndrome. Now, I'm not saying that people

don't have chronic fatigue. They actually do have chronic fatigue. Okay, But this fibromyalgia thing there, there are some legit purposes and reasons for it, but most of the time it's tied to something emotional. That doesn't mean it doesn't exist. People get so pissed off at me when I talk about this because they, oh, no, I really do have something. The other

one is environmental illnesses. I don't even want to tell you about an experiment about environmental illness where someone was doing some treatment that they thought was excellent for them, and this stuff that they supposedly were allergic to and was going to kill them was under their bed the whole time because somebody put it there as

an experiment. I don't want to go there right now. It's many, many years ago, but somebody who was convinced that certain things would kill them actually started feeling better when they thought that a treatment when actually the substance that they said would deadly kill them was under their bed. What I'm saying is these environmental illnesses. I'm not saying people don't have sensitivities to things and allergies.

But you know what, there's a big pile of psychosomatic nonsense that people go to when they're feeling emotionally emotional distress or depression or anxiety manifest themselves in a physical way. Why because it gives us something to point to so we don't feel crazy. Oh yeah, this is why I'm feeling this way. God Almighty, I can't tell you how many times people call and they say, you know what, we all got sick and we finally figure out what

it was. It was black mold, and the black mold sports weren't even in the air. Listen, when you talk to enough people over forty five and fifty years, you learn all of this stuff. So that guy, you wait more Gallon's disease, that's not on the flip side of the coin. Can you give a quick rundown as to what is actually needed for a medical malpractice suit, because clearly he's not there, but what is needed?

That's a good point. Okay. In the fact, somebody called me the other day about this, I swear to God, this exact same conversation. Here's what it is, and here's what's weird about malpractice. It has to be below the standard of care. Let me give you an example. One gentleman culture just thick one word in their community. You're right to below the standard of care for the community. Doc, You're absolutely right, because you

could actually be in a rural southern community. And I hate to pick out rural Southern Let's just say some backward community where the standard of care is actually less and the doctors are not held to a higher standard. I'm serious. Now, that doesn't mean they can do harm. We're talking about malpractice, but there's a difference between harm and malpractice. Harm is a negligence that does not necessarily it doesn't necessarily mean malpractice. It's a personal injury that is just

negligence, but it's it's a stupidity thing. Then you have malpractice where they're trying to do their medicine and they do it in a substandard way. I don't want to get into the nuances, but I want to say this. We have let's say a guy and he has an infection, respiratory infection. They see that it's a bacterial infection, so they treat him with antibiotics. The infection doesn't go away and it gets worse. They treat him with more

antibiotics, doesn't get better. As a result, he needs sinus surgery and other surgeries. Still not better. Then it gets into pneumonia and other things, or mastoiditis or serious stuff with the ears. Was that malpractice? No, it was resistant infection. It was someone who had a resistant bacterial infection. And there could be a host of reasons why he didn't get better. Lack of immunity in his own system, not right, environmental, even from

heredity and genes. Now listen to this. Was it malpractice? Would other doctors have handled it differently? Let's say no, they all would have done the same thing. Antibiotics, stronger antibiotics, surgery, blah blah blah blah blah. Right, doc, I mean, if all doctors would have approached this the same way, it's not their fault. If you get worse, right, correct, that's malpractice? I mean that's not malpractice. What would

be malpracticed? You have a respiratory infection like that and they do something so cockam ay like coiital silver or something that never showed any results, and then you die of an infection or you're so sick it's too late to save you, or they're serious damage and now you have COPD or something. The argument could be made no doctor would have done that. The doctors would have all went to antibiotics. This might be a bad example, but I'm trying to

give you something that's typical. Let's say, then, there's always the misdiagnosis. This happens a lot. You have a tumor in your brain, you have headaches. They think it's because you're Yeah, pick a reason and they treat that reason. But you really have a tumor in your brain. Okay, they could have easily seen that with an MRI, or maybe you had an MRI and they missed it. Whatever, here's the only problem with misdiagnosis

in all cases. In all cases, you have to show that the misdiagnosis and delay in the correct diagnosis caused you more harm than you would have had. For example, even though they missed it, they didn't cause the tumor. They missed the tumor. If the tumor is precisely the same size a year later, or you're in the same condition, you would have had stage four a year earlier, and now you have stage four a year later.

You did not your condition did not get worse. If you had stage three and it went to stage four, you could make the argument you could have prevented stage four. Whatever. I'm whatever it is. In addition to a malpractice, there also has to be a damage. So you have two components here, one beneath the standard of care for the community and two damages.

There are so many reasons why malpractice doesn't go through because people think just because they don't get better it's malpractice, or just because a doctor did something wrong they can sue for malpractice. There you go, mar did I miss anything? Doc? I mean no, you guys, and you guys used to

take seminars on this. Now here's here, here's something. Part of the problem with medical care being so expensive is somebody who walks in with if you're headaches and they don't do an MRI, then there is a cupable whereas you know, ninety nine of them just have normal headaches, but the one that that you don't do it on you're getting sued for. And that's a dilemma we face with some of these malpractice claims. And now what about you don't

get the desired outcome? Now that's another case where people look for an attorney. You didn't get a desired outcome. Undesirable outcomes are not malpractice unless there was something negligent. An undesirable outcome if disclosed, is an undesirable outcome. Your nose job didn't come out the way I look, but it's still a nose. It's just not perfect the way you wanted it. But if it

came out hideous and they did something wrong, that's different. But just because something is a bit undesirable the outcome with your knee, you had your knee done or your hip, it could be because of you and not because of the procedure. Now we have more right after this, go with a sure thing Denver's Best roofer Excel Roofing dot You don't pay a cent until you're content.

Hi, Tom Martino, your troubleshooter three O three seven one three talk. Okay, I want to

talk to Tracy real quick. She has a question on pet insurance. Go ahead, Tracy, Hi, Tom, Hey, Hi, So I currently I've had my my uh my dog for six years, got her when she was eight weeks old. I've always had pet insurance on her, but in particular because she's six years old. Now I have different insurance, and I've had it with MetLife pet insurance for about five years. But now the month you know, the monthly premium is increasing every year. So how much give

me an idea of how much it is right now? Absolutely so? Right now? Well my renewal well right now, be renewing in June. Right now. It's the annual benefit is five dollars, reimbursement at ninety percent, and my monthly premium is seventy four dollars and twenty four cents. Yeah, Now, what were you asking about? Whether it's worth it or not. I'm wanting to know if you what's your thought on pet insurance. Okay, I'm going to tell you. I'm going to tell you my thoughts on pet

insurance. It used to be a ripoff, but major carriers got into the business and started making it more like real health insurance. And as I understand it, it's really working well now for people who have it and they love it. But there are still bad policies and good policies, and it's very important that you look at the declarations and exclusions. That's really it all boils

down to that, and then you have to do the math. Now, there are some that have life limits as well, so it doesn't mean they're going to keep your dog alive no matter what. Again, that's all a

matter of contract, all right. Well, so for you, if you if you did the math on yours, for example, if it's you know, if you want to take it, like did you say about seventy five bucks, So right now at seventy four to twenty four, it's instancing in June to one hundred and all dollars one hundred and what one hundred and two

dollars a month? Okay, So what you're doing is taking one hundred and two dollars a month, and then you're trying to figure out if I spend twelve twenty four in a year and I get them max of five thousand is there a deductible no hold on the max of five thousand, but that's only at ninety percent, right, yes, and there is no deductible amount Okay, no deductible just ninety percent of whatever you spend that So what if you

have one thousand dollars that year you will get nine hundred. Do they have anything that is excluded? Well, I have to look more into the plan. This is the plan name is for injury and illness? No, I get it. And what's what's the max? Because there must be a max coverage, you know, if it's that simple to me, it is like everything else, you're gambling. But I think, I know, I think I would rather pay per month like this than if a dog's getting older.

Nowadays, Listen, it doesn't take much to go above that. That's twelve twenty four in premium, and it seems to me like whatever you go above, it's not. But here's what I want to know though. Does that include checkups and wellness? Does it in check vaccines? What I do is when I take her in for her annual you know, exam and shots, then I submit that claim and that goes towards the deductible. Well, I thought you said, there is no deductible. It goes towards my annual amount.

So I'm sure. Do you mean your actual again, I don't understand goes towards your annual amount of you mean of the fifty five hundred. Yes, yes, But then I thought they pay ninety percent of it, don't. No, no, because I have a zero deductible. So well, okay, I'm confused. I'm confused. Okay, you said that what you spend on normal wellness goes toward the fifty five hundred that's my annual benefit amount. Yes, okay. So let's say with normal vaccinations and physicals or whatever,

you're up to one thousand dollars, say thirty dollars. Two hundred and thirty dollars is what I pay for her annual exam got us? Okay, so do you get any of that money? Do you get any of that money back? Oh? Well, then it doesn't go to it. You told me you can get up to fifty five hundred and you get ninety percent of it. So why wouldn't you get ninety percent of the one hundred thirty dollars? Yeah? I don't I'm what am I not understanding? I'm just

trying to understand you. So, Tracy, what is your yearly benefit? The yearly annual benefit is five five hundred dollars. Deductible is zero, the imbursement ninety percent. Okay, Then if you're telling me regular wellness goes into that fifty five hundred, what you're telling me is you should get ninety percent of it back, and you're telling me you're not getting it back, so it's not going against the fifty five hundred. Listen, if I understand,

send me your contract. I'll tell you if it's a good deal or not. I'm Tom Martino. Go with a sure thing Denver's best roofer Excel Roofing dot com. five. Mike has a comment on pet insurancesurance. Go ahead, and Mike, why wouldn't you treat this just like a home warranty or a car warranty situation where you take those premiums and just put them in a savings account. Then you don't have any fine print to worry about, and if you have to take your pet in you take it out of that account. Well you

could, now, I just want to tell you something. Pet insurance is better than I don't recommend warranties on used cars for a very specific reason, and that is because they don't cover most everything, and they accumulate, and when they get to the value of the car, which is decreasing, you have no coverage. As far as homeowners are excuse me, home policies, those home warranties like excel Is offering, they don't cover anything unless they want

to. So those you pay first and then find out what's covered. Pet insurance is more like conventional health insurance, except it's more like it's a flat rate where you get up to a certain vent in fit amount. However, you're right, you could play the game and put the money in an account and hope that you don't run out of money first and that you accumulate enough so either way would work. But pen insurance is not quite as abusive as

those other things you mentioned. I'm Tom Martinez. We have more coming up on The Troubleshooter Show three O three seven to one three talk. com and uh, I'm getting a few texts from people on things. When I talked about psychosomatic diseases, I always piss people off because there are people who want to believe that they're infected with toxic mold, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, mor Gallon's disease, and all kinds of stuff and many of I'm not saying that people don't have problems. Trust me, they have problems. I'm not a doc here. But there are so many diseases or conditions that

people cannot test for. There's no test. I mean there are subjective tests, yeah, do you feel this way? Do you feel that way? But nothing they can really nail on this. Nothing for my gallant somebody asked about And by the way, the guy that called with more gallons, he called back, probably a little pissed. I called him crazy, but he said he was digging in the dirt, cut his hand, went to the emergency room. They gave him no service whatsoever. He wants to sue them

for malpractice. Why because he went home and what did he say, Kelly Off there the mites jumped from his hand into his bed, and now he has mites in his bed, and so he wants to go to malpractice. So what do you think you're going to collect? Even if they did nothing and caused his mites to jump in his bed. First of all, he didn't get them. The mergency room let him go because there's nothing wrong with him except maybe something a mental hospital could help, so they let him go.

He was not a danger to himself or others, so they let him go. He's thinking, he's got mites in his hands that jumped out into his bed and now they infected his bed. So let's say he's right, So what do you do? Buy him a new bed? So you're gonna get free a free service from termin X to fumigate his apartment. But here's what I'm getting at, I'm malpracticed. Lawsuit minimums one hundred and fifty thousand to bring the lawsuit minimum. I know people won't tell you that, but

that's what it is. And when you bring the lawsuit, you get a new bed. I mean, people are people are crazy and I can spot him, and I'm not going to sugarcoat it anymore. If I can spot it, I'm gonna let you know so you don't waste your time. So there's another one. Somebody asked me about Havanah dies, the the Havana syndrome. They knew someone suffering from Havanah syndrome. Now have you heard what it

is, Kevin? Have you heard of the venta syndrome? Isn't that what happened to some of the military and now, However, the CIA did an intensive health and espionage study and investigation and found no external source, none, none, not from an enemy, not from a combatant of any kind, not from foreign nationals. There was no electromagnetic energy, there was no ultraviolet energy, there was no focus focus frequency, and that many of these symptoms

were just self induced. Now the CIA didn't say that, but people believe, and medical people believe it could be self induced or group think, because you go there and you start thinking, hey, all these people are feeling this way. I'm starting to feel this way. But there was never, ever, never a finding that they could point to that call that was called, well though it is called Havana syndrome, but there's no cause, no effect, no cure, nothing. So you see, it doesn't take much

for people to be looney tunes. It doesn't. They don't even in fact, you can be totally sane in all parts of your life, but believe someone is entering your home and planting roses. It doesn't matter. I mean, there's there's people who believe certain things and and we don't know why that happens, but we do know that something has to be able to be tested. Okay, something has to be tested, and if it can't be tested,

you can't be claiming it. Otherwise we're going to get into situations that I don't want to talk about right now, but just be But I can see this world going this way. I can see it. Even though now they're comfortable in saying you have a psychosomatic illness or a mental illness, there don't don't. Don't doubt me. There will someday be a time when if you think you have the disease, they're going to treat you like you do.

And if you identify with the disease or or the mental condition, if you identify with it, you will have We're that far off of that right now. No, we're not. We're really not, and that you will be treated and you could possibly even get a disability for it and maybe even a cream for your skin three all three seven, one, three eight two five five Kevin on an electrical issue, someone wants to know what are the

symptoms of a loose ground. Well, you would lose the function of whatever circuit that is when it's under load, for sure, because when it puts it, you know, the elect A loose ground is hard, right, I mean it's it's not hard. It's common to a lot of things, but looser port connection, but it can cause all kinds of things about it. Intermittency, crazy intermittent like you're hitting bumps. I think this person is

talking about the main ground. If you have an if you have an intermittent or loose main ground, your whole car seems like it's it's they started. The starter may not want to engage because it doesn't have the ground circuit that completely doesn't have enough of it, enough of it exactly, And any any kind of gapping or any kind of looseness can cause resistance. Yep. That

causes heat that can cause problems later on. And it's not enough to pop a circuit right, because it's not a short no, no, it's not grounding power. It's just not completing the circuit. I'm telling you. That's where election, that's where most electrical problems are is on the ground side. Really really, unless you have somebody working on the car prior like a body

shop or something where they remove panels, you know. And to explain the concept of ground and electricity for people that aren't technically minded, and I don't mean to talk down to you, I mean it's it's really important. Long ago was when they figured they could make that they could ground circuits. Instead of running two wires back and forth, they just ran power. Power was isolated and sent through a circuit or through things the other end of that to

complete the circuit. Instead of running through everything again and doubling the wire, they just went to ground. Now, ground has to be all connected and it has to be conductive. If it's connected and conductive, then you have a complete circuit and you don't have to run all that extra wire. Correct And that's ground and it's actually pretty damn efficient. It is. Now on an AC circuit, that's a totally different story. But ground doesn't literally have

to be conductive. Well, it is conductive, but in a more universal sense than it is a direct sense, like when you ground your house outside in the dirt, I mean, or our grounds actually run though from your house to the power lines and to the station. I don't think they're sure, not with AC current. I don't think the idea of AC current is different than your car, which is DC. AC current sends out pulses of

electricity back and forth. I mean, it's really a strange concept, but it's still electricity, but it's going back and forth creating your current, and then the grounds are all universal and common to literal ground. It's a concept that Tesla came up with years ago because originally we were wiring according to Edison,

and Edison said everything had to be directly wired back and forth. And Tesla says, we can basically do this much easier and it would be cheaper to generate if we did an alternating current, and so people don't understand that.

He was kind of like the father of that, and yeah, not the car, the scientist, Yeah, the scientist Tesla for the for alternating current, and Edison was kind of like the father of direct current, although direct current was around before him, but they just took these discoveries and gave him names and purposes three three seven one three talks seven one three A two five five. three seven one three talks seven one three eight two five five. It's Mother's Day weekend, and I want to know what you don't want. So many people try to figure out what moms want and they fail miserably. I want to talk to Joe Kanna, certified Financial Planner on an issue I got. He was here doing his spot and I said, you know, Joe, I got this question came up the other day, and I got another one by email, so I want to address it. Some people are saying,

Joe, I'm old. One kid called for his mom. She's closing on a house. Okay, she's in her eighties, early eighties. She's closing on her house and getting three hundred grand. Okay. I said to him, at eighty years old, you're not going to let an annuity fester. And if she wants to protect it a fixed indextinuity, there are annuities you can instantly turn on for income. You're not going to get as much as if it grew for ten years, but it'll produce income and you will trade

some liquidity for that. And I'm not sure what she can get out in an emergency. And I'm not sure if there a bonuses paid on those last minute ones, and how long you have to be in it to earn the bonus. So I want to ask all of these one at a time. First and foremost, there are instant incomeuities, right, That is right? Then if you know they're called an immediate annuity, and Deputy Duck actually bought one. You know, you put a lump sum enough money and he's taking

an income for the rest of my life. Let's talk about an instant annuity. The way it works is you put a lump sum in and immediately start drawing income. That is right, within thirty days after the transfer is complete. Okay, Now, next question, does that money that you put in that annuity get just get drawn down or is it? Is it growing? You know, it's a guaranteed for life. It doesn't grow anymore unless you put what they call an inflation protection writer, and it will grow. You

know's inflation girls every single year. But no matter what, even if it doesn't grow, even if it doesn't grow from investments, it will last the rest of your life. That is right, that you pass Even if the account would have been drawn out to zero, it's still going to pay right, Okay, now the next question then then then do you get a bonus with an instant annuity? No, I haven't seen an instant annuity that provides a bonus, okay, just a transfer of a lump sump to an income

okay. And how is it figured for airs if she only lived another five years? Well, you can certainly put an air in there, you know, if you know, if you if you're beneficiary, I should call it so. But how does that work? What is the account value? How is it figured? Right? Well, the account value has nothing to do with it. Basically, the income stream has something to do with it. If you choose a beneficiary, you will get a smaller payout every single month

for the rest of your life. But if you pass away, your beneficiaries will get that. They'll get the payout or alum sum. They'll get the payout for the rest of their lives as well. Oh, is there one where that where your estate gets a lump sum or not? You know, you can, you can structure them like that. But normally, normally people just want to have the you know the same. Let's take a husband or

wife. A husband buys, you know, the immediate annuity, he gets a payout, and upon his death five years later, the wife and the beneficiary will receive the same payout till the day she dies. Okay. Now, let's take another scenario. Let's say that a mom gets it and she wants to provide for her son, or a dad wants to provide for his son or daughter or whatever, so they put a lump sum in, they start getting income. They die a few years later, can they leave a

lump sum to their son or daughter. No. No. If it's an immediate annuity, the income stream will go to the beneficiaries. Okay, but there is no loser, I've got it. But with a conventional one where it festers over time, there will be an account balance that can go to your estate. Absolutely. That's a totally different annuities. Okay, so they are a little different, but they both are guaranteed. That is right.

And this is why this is really important for people to choose a certified financial planner, because we can actually look at the suitability for the client and pick the right annuity for them. You're right. We have a lot of people calling us that are in their eighties high seventies. They don't really have that time to let the annuity grow for ten years. No, they want to have an income right now. They want to have an income day one,

and that's what the immediate annuity will help them do. It will create income flow for the rest of their lives. Well, what if they have now in emergence you need for cash for some reason, How does that work with an immediate annuity? If you tied up your money, is there a surrender value or is there no such thing? There's not, there's no such thing. Basically, your your your locked in a lump sum for a monthly distribution for the rest of your life. Oh, there's no longer a lump sum

anymore. Okay, got it. But with a regular annuity you can withdraw if you need to. Oh absolutely. Most companies will allow you to take ten percent every year if you like, with no penalties, or if you want to pay a surrender penalty, you can take the majority of your money out. Okay, it has absolutely you know, it's totally. This is one of the biggest concerns people have. They think annuities will actually lock up their money. That's not the case with a new annuities stom or annuities are

liquid. Basically they can but let's just say, let's just put it like this, and I don't think anyone should want to do this, but let's say they get a regular annuity is growing and they want their cash back for some reason, whatever it is, they just want their money back. Let's say it's been sitting there five, six, seven years. Does the surrender

charge go down with time? Absolutely? You know, there's a five years surrender penalty, seven years surrender penalty, and it declines every single year. Does it ever go to zero? Oh? Yeah, at the end. You know, let's say that you take a seven year surrender penalty. Annuity at the end of seven years is a zero. There's no more penalties. You can get your money out the count. See now that's okay, value,

Okay, I get that. Yeah, so you if you live through the not live, but if you keep the account through the surrender charges diminishing, there are no more surrender charges. But you can still take but even during the surrender period, you can still take up to ten percent. That is right, penalty free penalty even in the surrender period right now, the surrender period, right after the surrender period, after the surrender period, if I want to take income, but I also want to take a little extra

cash. Is that allowed? Absolutely? You can think a little, you know, a lump sum of money and then begins you're payout. Okay, Joe, you've been. You've been a lot of help. I appreciate that. And of course, well you can read you know, Joe. People don't know this, but I call you all the time with questions, not just on the air, and I appreciate the information. with Remax Alliance three oh three nine two zero sixteen twenty two. Hi Tom Martino, You're troubleshooter three oh three seven one three talk three oh three seven one three eight two five five. Okay, so we have Kevin Cokin with us. Today is car day and we haven't had a lot of car calls. We've had some, but people are asking about the golf cart mode in a car. I call it the golf cart mode. I got a text

or two on it, meaning and not all today. I had one a few weeks ago I put away and one I just reminded me of it. They want to know, do you know what the golf cart? You know what it is. It's like when you pull up to a red light, your car turns off, sure, and then then you turn then you the returns green and your car starts instantly. How does that work? That's that's

not their question. That's my question. Off the break switch, if you take your foot off the break it engages a starter, okay while you're in gear right, yeah, okay, So it's meant to save gas in the environment. That's the theory. You know, she's not sitting there idling pumping exhaust. Now here's the question. Someone wants to know. Does that wear out the start? Okay? Yeah, no, you're using your starter twenty times more than you did before. Absolutely, And the one I got weeks

ago was about the battery. Does it have a toll on the battery? Of course? Yeah, yes, yes, more cycles, more battery, more of everything. Yeah, I don't think it enough. Mine has an option to turn it off. I think they are. Some do, some do not. All No, no, some of them. You have to have that damn thing on. Yes. Is there a way to defeat it? I imagine there is, but I don't know how simple that would be. You know, it depends on the vehicle, so it's it's annoying.

What is the official name of that mode? I called the golf cart. It's what I've called it too, So I've never really looked into the exact Okay, another question on auxiliary let me find it oxis me not on electrical. Somebody wants to know about the Okay, somebody wants to know about They were told their auxiliary battery needs replacing and they didn't even know they had one, So what are we talking about. Some have a small nickel, you

know, like a Nycat battery that's part of the charging system. Yes, what it is is it to keep it? Is it to keep the to keep alive memory in the that parasitic yep, yep, exactly so, and the parasitic uh consumption we're talking about is or constant on we call them. So when you turn your car off, that battery gives micro voltage to some of the memory and some of the things you need power to. And they're

designed to be you know, completely dead and back. How do you know, by the way, when they go bad, Well, you'll start having issues or the computer can warn you mean, your radio resets and you're different things like that. But even memory on the seats, all of that is maintained by this. Yes, and you'll actually get codes from your body control module before the failure. But are those batteries longer lasting than a car battery?

I think they're like they're they're designed to go five to ten years, you know, something so little bit it's not something that you need to go off to do every year or anything. No. No, but okay, and those are not car batteries, no, And they're small. They are you know, probably a six by six or four by six and they're called auxiliary. Where are they normally set floor panels all over the place. Yeah, Now do electric cars have those or not? No? They don't They

wouldn't need them. No, no, because they're always on. Okay, So that's man. That's very interesting that that we have auxiliary batteries. Now we have the golf cart mode and then we but the auxiliaries. Battery is charging when the car's running, when you turn off, you use it. So I'm asking this as an offshoot, is it not bad to have a maintainer? Tell me what you think about maintainers? Or maybe if you have two cars, you have a maintainer on the car you don't drive a lot.

What do you think because a good, a good digital maintainer nowadays will not overcharge. Oh, absolutely not, No, they're perfect. Yeah. Now, if you're going to park a car for I would say more than ten days at a time, you know. I would say if you're going on vacation, if you have a vacation home where you leave a car, or you leave a car here and you go on a vacation, you should put a trickle on or it's not a trickle. Trickle smiss is a misnomer.

It has to be a maintainer and explain what a maintainer. A maintainer will sense the voltage drop and turn itself on and turn itself off, where a trickle will run all the time. Yeah, and you don't want you don't want that, no, because what you do is you'll bake the battery event absolutely, So you want one that senses what it needs when it needs it gives it just it gives it just what it needs, and then turns off so your battery is not constantly being heated exactly. See, these are

all things about electrical systems. In fact, they don't tell you about them. Do you know that there are some cars that come with those chargers. Ferraris come with what I thought of you, they come with them because they don't First of all, they don't want you using a regular one, and second of all they want you to They want you to use it because it those cars are really sensitive to voltage drops. So most newer cars are there

so many modules that they don't need. You have to maintain voltage. Yeah, it's critical. So I'm shocked that with today's home building they don't do more induction chargers built in garage floors. I mean, don't you think that's coming. Think about how cool that would be, or a mat or a mat not even built in Kevin, Why couldn't we have a map that's rolled out you drive up onto that that can induction, that can charge your battery.

Very simple. Well, they're building growth complete roads if that are inductive, that's right, Yeah, think about that people instead of putting us something on the wall and having to plug it in. Now, I'm not sure tests well, there is no There are no cars as I know it right now that take induction, and induction for those listening is different than conduction,

which is through direct connection. Induction is like your cell phone sitting on those pads now, And you can put your car over a pad technically if it can accept it, but you have to have a receptor for it. And I'm not sure how those receptors work. I don't know if they're coils or what they are, but they only have to be in proximity. And sometimes you're electric toothbrushes. Well, in fact, I don't know if any electric

toothbrushes anymore. You have to connect with a hard wire. You put them in the cradle, and the cradle those cradles are inductive, so they're not direct connections. And with a car over a pad, that would be perfect. In fact, damn I could see where you take those pads. You can roll them up and put them in the trunk and take them on vacation with you and plug them in. Yeah, they're like waight, I'm sure yes. And as far as charging, though, hybrid cars charge themselves,

right, isn't that really what happened when they first came out. They would charge with the brakes when you step on the break they're actually charging, or with the coasting. The coasting yet but you you still have plug in hybrids so that they recommend to keep the battery. But they don't need more than one ten do they? I have never seen one with more. Do you work on hybrids? We do a couple of mechanics, even drive them. Yea, they like them, but not fully electric. Press you're not doing

fully electric either. Some but there's not a lot to do to them. You know, we'll do suspension and breaks, but past that there's really nothing else to do. Are they okay? And that's true my son, and I know Mark will tell you this. With is Tesla, we don't have anything to do at all. I mean, in fact, the brakes are like new because the breaks break with resistance. So I mean as much as I you know, don't think electric cars will reduce our carbon footprint at all.

But there is something to be said about the lack of maintenance. Oh yeah, no, definitely, you know, but they still wear out, you know, you still bearing things. But it's not gonna be anything like classic cars, I mean regular cars, I mean conventional cars, all right, three o three seven one three eight two five five Premiere window cleaning. Hi Tom Martino here three oh three seven one three talks seven one three eight two five five.

So we have had quite a discussion today on certain things that I want to recapture and uh, I don't want to uh belabor it. But with pet insurance, we've been looking it up and there there are the policies are way better than they used to be. They used to be kind of like scams, but now there are flat benefit programs, meaning if you have a legit VET bill, not not it can't be just how do I put it for preventive care or stuff like that? Right, but if you have a jet

problem, go to a vet, have a legit bill. You get up to a certain amount and benefits per year in exchange for premiums. Okay, it's that simple. So you do the math, add up the premiums. In this case that one woman had was twelve hundred dollars a month, excuse me, a year, So you got to figure am I going to spend more than twelve hundred and if so, this will cover up to a certain amount, but ninety percent up to that certain amount. Kevin, do you

have health insurance factor? You know, we looked at it and I didn't think it was worse than that, okay, And for some people it's not. If your pet is relatively healthy, you can put that money away and save twelve hundred a year toward vet bills. So that's definitely a way. We also had a woman that had no hot water that we're looking into. In fact, she just said this, Deputy Deputy Marvel just sent me this. I sent this to the woman with the hot water issues, and so

there she's working on this. We supportly check tennants from months see okay anyway, so she a deputy of Marvel's following up with the management company. Not the management company ignored us with the owner on that one. So you need hot water. Hot water is definitely a habitability issue, and they can't simply

let it go. Unfortunately, Julie doesn't want to move. But this would be an excellent case for a constructive eviction where where you absolutely positively need to you need to report that if you're young enough to move, move and they can't hold it against you, and we can help you work through things like

that if you ever want to do a constructive eviction. And then, Kevin, I don't know what we decided, but on that Nissan rogue that won't start and something was spinning inside or vibrating, what did you conclude that maybe it is? Well, it sounds to me like a relay of some kind of stuck. Now with starting issues, we're talking about not the engine part, but the electric part. It really can only be a few things. Either the solenoid or start is not getting Yeah, you got to supply voltage

to the store. There's a resistance there because of a loose connection. Or can you have a starter that doesn't turn because it's somehow inside is broken? Do you do they have Hell, yeah, it's possible. You know, it is a mechanical piece that has gears in. Okay, yeah, so, but most of the time it's an electrical issue. When a starter goes

out, what's characteristic Either it'll click or just really slow crank.
