Home Show in Douglas County on the fairgrounds. I don't know if you if you know this or not, but it's one of the largest shows around, especially this year. Three hundred and thirty three booths or something. It's crazy and it's right in Castle Rock, Douglas County Fairgrounds, Okay, and they're going to have all kinds of people there. They have you know, every contractor you can think of for the house. Three hundred and thirty booths,

two buildings. It's starts this Friday at noon, okay, and then it runs Saturday and Sunday. So it's Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at the Douglas County Fairgrounds. A lot of our sponsors will be there and it will be a great time to go. Okay. So that is the castle Rock Home Show, you know, that has grown and grown over the years. It waned a little during COVID, of course, but it's back stronger than ever this year. So mark it down, have some fun, it's it's

a really fun show and plenty of parking and all that. I think it's way better than the ones they have downtown. But anyway, let's keep going. Three oh three seven one three talk three oh three seven to one, three eight two five five. I'm gonna go right to the phones. How about that? Tim wants to talk about solar. So, Tim, what's going on in your life? What's happening with solar? Well, it was

about a year ago. There's a big player shuck from Colorado Springs. There's a big push for solar panels, and yeah, there's still a big push, by the way, So what's going on. So it was also at the time that the electric rates were going all over the place and getting real high in Colorado Springs, and so I figured, you know what, maybe this is something worth looking into. And by the way, a good solar

system, I believe is still very viable. So what happened, Well, they sold me a solar system that was supposed to produce a news they by the way, you know, I'm at work and I have that information at home. I don't have it on top of my head. Okay, So you said they sold you and you bought a system, and what did they promise? An average of ten thousand kilowatts a year? And the price, of course, it was a bit pricey, and I was kind of taken

aback. But they what was your net after all? Your tax credits? Well, that's just the thing. I'm not getting any tax credits because of the way that it was told to me and the way my tax arrangement is set up with what I do for a living. Okay, let's start this way. Then, let's start this way, Tim, what was your gross price? Just how much was the system itself? How much? Thirty eight dollars? Okay, now, as systems go, that doesn't sound outrageous,

and it was. Did you say for ten kilowatt ten year? You mean ten kill okay, ten thousand watts? Ten kilowatts? Yeah? Okay. Then I want to know something. What company did Oh did you say you don't know the company? Right, I've got that information at home. I don't know. Did they knock on your door or what? Yes? Okay, So why are you this is what I'm curious about. Why are you not getting tax credits? Because I'm a I'm a private contractor with an LLC

and I'd pay my taxes throughout the year with was supplies a mileage. And are you saying that you don't have any taxes to pay by the end of the year. I have very little tax obligation. You can sell the tax credits, but you can you can not only sell the tax credits. Mark, but he doesn't have to pay his taxes as he goes. He can just use the tax credits. Tim, I don't understand. I mean on

a thirty eight thousand dollars system. Okay, if that's truly it, you know you get thirty percent of that, you understand that, right, and in fact forty percent if the stuff is purchased in the US. So, so you have eleven four hundred if you tell me you have, It doesn't matter if you have an LLC or anything. You have personal income tax? Are you telling me you never pay eleven thousand, four hundred dollars in taxes

all year? I went through my I went through all of my taxes with my receipts and expenses and everything with you know, they've they've changed the exemptions now to where they rather you come out breaking even. And I went through all of my taxes and receipts and everything with my tax agent. I said, oh, yeah, by the way, I bought this thing and I

was told I was going to get a thirty percent rebate on her. She says, well, that's kind of misleading, and I said, excuse me, Well, it's if you don't pay tax, there's no tax credit. But you are paying tax here, Tim, it doesn't matter when you pay them. You're paying tax and you get them back. I don't understand. Are you listen. Are you a single member LLC? Yes, then it's a pass through to you, which means you are paying taxes one way or

another. Now, if you're not paying at least a few grand in taxes, and you can use these credits forward. How many years can you use? The mark is at three or five or something. Well, here's what I'm saying, Tim, is that everyone pays taxes. And if your if your accountant says you don't pay tax, he's a moron, and you're paying taxes no matter what. It doesn't matter. If you pay him through the year, you will get a refund for those taxes that you're paid with a

tax credit. Correct this and this year it was roughly four thousand dollars. Okay, and you'll get another one next year. But if I don't have the eleven four hundred dollars by next month, they're going to reamateurize and suddenly one hundred and twelve dollars payments for these things, they're going to be one hundred and fifty something. No, wait a minute, Wait a minute, they don't and they don't cover all of the electricity. They aren't ten sing

the amount. Tim, I want to do one thing at a time. Okay, you're calling about tax credits. Now you're talking about the electricity, and I don't know if it's just buyers and Morston. You hate the system, and maybe you got a bad system. But let's take one issue at a time. So you're telling me the thirty eight thousand dollars already took into an account some kind of tax credit. You're telling me that already happened.

Correct, So it was really more than thirty eight thousand, But they netted you to thirty eight with the promise that you were going to pay your tax credits. Tim, it was, it was, it was. It was supposed to be the price of thirty eight thousand and some change. And then when I when I get the when I got it, actuallybate one of God. Actually they'd give that to them and it would go down. But god, it take that into consideration now, hey, and those credits time are

good for virtually ever as long as there still are tax credits. So Tim, listen, whether you like the system or not, that's a separate issue. Right, we'll take that issue separately. But the tax credit issue. You will get the tax credits now if here's the thing though, here's what I'm hearing. They want payment for the balance of the system before you're getting all of the credits. I understand that they thought you were going to get

the credits sooner, so they put down a deadline. But you only got so far four thousand of those credits. Right, Actually the credit, the specific credit from that was four one hundred and eleven dollars. Well it wasn't. Tim. I can't help you, bro, because you're you're all over the board. You have to have had if you paid taxes, you have to have had more than that. Yes, somebody is not doing you the right. Math, there's just no way around it. Math never lies.

You will realize tax credits. Now. The problem is they want to be paid on those tax credits before you're getting paid on them, because you're going to have to take them over a few years because you don't pay that much tax and they want the balance of the system sooner, and probably you signed a contract obligating yourself. You said that the cost of the system was thirty eight. Now let's go back. I can talk about what was the real

cost of the system thirty eight thousand or something. No, you're gonna have to pay tax credits. How much was the solar system total? Thirty eight thousand and something? Okay, then you paid? Did you pay the thirty eight so far or not? Well, just through the financing? If they set me up late, okay, then why are they making you pay your tax credits? I don't know, Tim, Tim listen, I can't help

you, okay, because you don't even know what you signed. If you give me the information, well you're you're telling me that you're the idea. The understanding was you were going to pay thirty eight and then forward them your tax credits. Is that right, sir? If that's the case, semitization. If that's the case, if you were going to pay thirty eight through financing and forward them the tax credits, then the cost of your system is more than thirty eight Can you see that? Yeah? So I'm asking you

what was the price of your solar system? Reading over the financing content, reading over the financing information, thirty eight thousand and chain if it gets and then if it gets re MFI, when I don't pay the eleven four hundred, then the total payment will be forty six something. Okay, So the cost of the system was forty six minus tax credits. Do you understand that now? So your system costs you forty six thousand, I get it. And then what they want you to do is pay them the thirty percent tax

credits. You're right, it was misleading. So they want you to pay them. They want you to pay tax credits. Okay, that's what they want. And you're saying, I didn't get the tax credits. That's what you're saying, basically, But that's what the numbers work out to. That's exactly the numbers you're giving me. So your system cost you forty six grand, and now you only paid thirty eight. You have to pay them the rest. And they wanted you to pay them through tax credits. But you're

saying you can't use the tax credits? Are now are we in an agreement? Right? Right? Okay, if you can't use the tax credits, you can sell them. But I believed him. Anyone can use tax credits unless you don't make any money whatsoever, because even if you have deductions and stuff, you still pay taxes. But I understand your problem. So now you're saying, if they readmortize it, because you're not getting the credit, you're gonna have to pay a lot more for a system. And now you're

saying the system doesn't even work. That's a completely separate issue. What do you mean it doesn't work? It does, It just doesn't work to this, to the level they said, because the whole life. Tell what I want you to do. Tim. We're going to get you some help. Listen, Tim, We're going to get you some help. You didn't call for me to tell you how wrong this whole thing was. Okay, you called to get help. I'm going to put you in touch with a friend

of mine who's in the solar business, probid energy dot com. And that's Mark. Okay, Mark Kunkle. What he will do? You need to get us copies of your contracts and stuff. We will analyze this immediately to see what exactly they did to you. Okay, all right, put him on hold and let him process that. If he wants our help, we will give this to Probidenergy dot com. That's a company that does it the

honest way, and I promise you they will. The hill Mark will go over it to tell us what went wrong with this and why it's not working. When you take all the crap out, it tastes great. And that's water Pros And that's fourteen hundred bucks all the drinking water you'll ever have. You don't have to buy bottled water. Three oh three eight six two five five five four. Back to the phones.

Listen on solar systems people. It is a good idea. You can use the tax credits, and as far as promises of what it will produce, you need to get more than one opinion, one bid, and really it would do some research on this damn thing. So many people over sell solar systems and that's what sucks, being oversold and finding out it's not producing what you thought, and then you can't even use the tax credits like you thought. So we'll try to get help for him. Luke, what's going on

with your engine? Luke? Welcome to the show. Hi A twenty twenty three RAM fifteen hundred. Those are nice looking trucks. Those are nice lighting well on the outside, they're nice looking. Yeah, I under what's going on with it? What's going on with it? So I bought it back in twenty in April of last year, so I have had it for about a year. I put about fifteen about nine thousand miles on it, ten

thousand miles on it, and a check engine light came on. Well, I have like a one of those OBD two sensor that you plug in, and I plugged it in and it said it was an error code for a manifold issue, a manifold runner or something like that. So I didn't delete the code. I left the check engine light on. I called the local dealership here in Castle Rock. Well they take forevery well, it's under warranty,

bro right, I mean let them hand absolutely absolutely. I had a thirty thousand mile factory warranty at that and I also bought an extended warranty. I'm sorry to hear that, but go ahead, yeah, yeah, so I had I tried to make an appointment here in Castle Rock, but it was going to be it was going to be weeks to get it in. Where'd you buy it? By the way, I bought it through a triple A auto source, and they bought it from someone in a rapa hoe.

It was a dealership in a rapa hoe, the RAM dealership on a Wrappa hole in Centennial. But the dealer of record, your broker was Triple A Auto Source. Correct. Okay, so you didn't sign the documents with that dealer, right, I believe I did, but with the broker the broker, Okay, that's fine. So that's fine. I was just curious. So the check engine light, what code did it throw? Do you know?

P one zero zero four. Now back to the dealership. I actually got a hold of that dealership and said, hey, can you get me in? And they wouldn't give me the time of day. The deal dealership that the truck actually came from, well, hold on. What I don't understand is any dealership should take this, So why can't you get it in

for service? Well? So I did. I ended up getting it in for service to Larry H. Miller because they were able to get me in as the quickest out of Aurora, and I took it to them and I showed them when I dropped it off, I said, hey, check engine lights on. It was also not storing like my pre settings, like my presets like whenever. This may sound silly, but if I pay seventy five thousand dollars for a truck, I want to know, man, I know

exactly what you're talking about. So somehow the electrical system was being rebooted or something. Absolutely, Yeah, it wouldn't store like I would. I had it set to where if I locked my truck twice, it should honk. I had it set to where I got it. Yeah a wife, My wife has a preset seat setting. Hey listen, I'd be pissed too. I'd be pissed too. Yeah, So what's going on? So I took it to them and they told me that they could not reproduce any thing.

They said the check engine light was not on by the time they looked at it, and that no codes were stored, that the truck quote automatically deleted the codes. So wait, so so when you're driving now, are you still having these issues? No, that code has not come back on. But I'm having other issues, other issues. So the the front of the truck has sensors all around it that pick up you know, like obstacles, and my truck will randomly just start. It'll be like there's an obstacle in

my way when there's not. So Are all of your problems? Are all of your problems confined to electrical technical stuff? Yes? Yes, Now here's the kicker. Now this is this gets even more annoying. So I got a hold of Silantis, the person who manufactures Ram trucks, and I got wait, wait, wait, who did you say you got a hold I thought that Dodge. I thought Chrysler produces him. I guess, I guess Stlantis is actually the company that oversees Chrysler, Dodge, Ram and Jeep.

They're oh, you mean the law the mother Ship? Why the hell did you go there? Because I got a hold of Ram and quote, Ram cares they they could care less. They couldn't care. Okay, So where does it stand right now? Man? What happened? So it has been at the Castle Rock dealership. I've had it. I had it to them. This is the second time I've had it to them, because I took it to them after Larry H. Miller because it was having the same issues

and it wasn't what months did you actually buy it in? I need to know the in service state. Okay, it was purchase. I'm having my paperwork right here for seven twenty three. Okay, you have until for twenty seven, twenty four to do a Lemon Law. But listen, here's what's important. Did you have the same problem for more times that they could not find or that's where my that's kind of where my problem lies is they have

never documented that they could reproduce these problems. I've already I kind of I reached out to an attorney and he told me that I would have to get it documented, even though even though I've documented it with videos and all this. In other words, you have to prove you brought it in for the same problem four times. Right. Well, And another issue is is I bought it and it had three thousand miles on it, so technically I bought it used. How many miles did you have on it? I believe it

was three thousands. Then you're not. It is used and you're not covered. You're not covered by the Lemon Law. But I guess where my issue is is they're not. It still has a factory warranty on it, and they are not. Well, I understand, but it's not covered under the Lemon Law. I'm just telling you, Yeah, Okay, you screwed yourself there. It's you have a warranty, but it's not covered under the Lemon

Law, so let's just not go there. Okay, okay, Now what we have to do is just get someone who knows what the hell they're doing to figure it out. I mean, that's really what it comes down to. You love the truck other than that, right, yeah? Yeah, I mean yeah, I mean other than that. Yeah, it's been all

right then hang on, let's figure this out. Let's get Kevin Culkin on real Quick three all three seven to one three talk seven one three eight two five five you know eight eight eight heating dot Com they're doing an extraordinary job. Find out Now three oh three seven seven to one. Help. You'll think you're his only customer when you choose Frank durand the real estate Man dot com to list your home with Remax Alliance three oh three nine two zero sixteen twenty two, Tom Martino, Welcome to the show. Kevin caked and shared an auto tech. Hey share, Kevin, I got a question for you. This guy, he has a Dodge Ram fifteen hundred twenty twenty three brand spanking new. I mean he's got a few miles on it, nine thousand miles.

Tell him what it's doing, Luke, all of a sudden and they can't seem to find it. He threw a code and if you want to look it up you can. But it's P one thousand and one whatever system it is, one thousand and four, one year zero. Oh I'm sorry, one thousand and four. Anyway, Meanwhile, what is it doing? Tell them what is suing? Log? So what'll happen is I'll be driving down the road and it usually happens whenever I start slowing down and like at

an intersection. But the front crash sensors up front like that. You know, we'll give you a warning if you're getting too close to something. Will randomly just start beeping, and it'll be I'll have a car thirty feet away. Sometimes I'll have a car ten feet away. And I've even tested it, like when I go pick my kid up from school, I'll be turning the corner and there will be nothing there and it will alert. And is it only one side or the other? Which one? It happens so fast

that I can't tell which would sensor it and what else? But you said there was some other electrical they're all Technico. Oh how about your presets? Are they still? The seat presets have been fined since they did a quote update last time. But the horn honking, it's random. I like whenever I lock my truck, I have it set to where whenever I locked my truck, I hit the lock button twice and it's supposed to give me like a honk confirmation this is lock, And randomly it'll do that, and sometimes

it won't. Then my radio will freeze and make this really weird, almost like wires are crossing somewhere in the dash. It'll make this like loud buzzing sound. And then the radio will lose all function and it will freeze up. And then after about it says anywhere from ten to eighty seconds, the radio will reset itself and we'll reboot and then it'll be fine. But like

I said, the seat presets have been fined since they reset. I understand, but you're just having random problems that they can't Yeah, and I've been working with Chrysler over the last month. They've had my truck at Castle Rockets just been sitting in their parking lot. They're supposed to send an engineer out. Do they give you a Are you getting a replacement vehicle? No, they're just supposed to send an engineer out to look over it. But they

can't seem to get their stuff together. I mean, it's been sitting there for three and a half weeks now, untouched. Why do you let it sit there? Why don't you just drive it until they have the guy come? Sure? Well, because last time they told me that they would have they would have to have it there when that guy came, and they wouldn't give me a date, so I didn't want to miss that. So, Kevin, have you heard of anywhird electrical issues like this? Ever. Not

the randomness of these No. I mean that's why they're, you know, trying to get an engineer involved, because their text are stumped too. Yeah, that's a challenge, the intermittency of it, and you know, it's going to be a real challenge to figure it out. Yeah. Well,

and that what I've done is I've caught it all. I have a dash camera in my truck and I've I've caught every like you know, the distance I am from everything, and I've documented everything, and I've saved the Have you ever gone online to see if people are experiencing this this exact thing. I have not been able to find. No, I found issue. You don't see it either, Kevin, I don't see it at all. No,

not, Kevin. I want to ask something if you were. I know this is under warrantin all that, but what would you do if you had to just diagnose it? What would you do? You know? I honestly I don't know, because the randomness of it is the challenge. If it was a consistent problem, I think anybody you know, technically could figure it out. But it's it's the coming and going that that's really a challenge. Yeah, the problem is the problem. But right now are we talking

about the main problem? Right now is basically the proximity sensors. Is that the main thing? Yeah? Because that scared That scares me because I'm afraid what's going to happen is going to kick in my auto braking system. While now, Kevin, just so you know, my car is random. When it comes to the feedback of the horn. Sometimes it gives that little well, actually I don't have the horn. I have something like as it's just a tone, a high frequency tone like a smoke alarm, real high and

but more than that. So I'm saying this, I don't think that's such a big deal. Sometimes that I don't know. But the proximity sensors to me, it sounds like a module, a body module. They have all of those sensors go into a central brain and Kevin, I would have to say, it would be there, wouldn't it. It sounds like it could be either that or in a programming issue to wear it out of it, you know, ot a col. I think when they fixed one problem with

that upgrade, they caused the other. And I think you're going to find it's going to be software or something. I mean unless did you wipe off all your sensors. Yeah, I've done that. I've done all the easy stuff. But for the past, well, well here's the bottom line. It's not under the Lemon law. So here's what I suggest. Seriously,

if they can't find it now, we can have someone deputy doc. You might want to call down there and ask what they think is reasonable for him to wait seriously and well maybe a phone call like that might help prioritize it. So let's at least do that for you, and then if you ever do get it out, it wouldn't be you know, even on a new car. Shared an auto tech's not prohibited from touching a new car. They can do stuff like this. Just to give you an idea, Kevin,

do you know what that code was that was throwing the first time? It's a random cade. It's kind of a short runner valve control. That's fairly common. But that's not causing this. That's that's more of a all right, thank you very much. I appreciate that. Shared an autotech dot com. What is that comment on solar by the way, Yeah, Tom, you know I went through the whole solar experience and just wanted to share some The biggest tip I think for your listeners is they need to get two years of utility and find out what their average would be for replacement of their Excel energy and based on that, treated like a car purchase, because these these solar companies are trying to sell you a

demon just like a dealership and get you a smaller system and keep that profit the difference between what you could have actually got. So if that make sense, my system is eighteen point four kilo watch it's forty six panels and I spent forty two thousand before tax credits. But that's what it is.

Tax Day today, Tax Day. Welcome and the number is three zero, three seven one three talk if you have a problem, question and complain three oh three seven one three eight two five five. And in speaking in tax Joe has a quick question here that I want to go to because it is tax day. Then we go to Jose with a jet ski problem, and then I want to follow up with Mike on solar. It sounds like he did his homework. Joe, what is your tax credit question? Are

you there? Joe? Is he not there? Joe? What's going on? I'm here, I'm here? Can you hear? Oh? Yes, Joe? Okay. So my daughter died February of twenty twenty three, and I've been caring for our three year old grandchild from that point. J Joe. How old was your daughter? Twenty four? Oh my god. Yeah, it's tragic. We've been caring for and she's enrolled in school, she's enrolled in activities. We fully now does she live with you? Does she

live with you? Her permanent residence is with us. We financially supported in all regards. Right after her death, we informed her biological father that her mother died. And the reason why we did that was that they were separated and the biological father had no visitation and no contact with his daughter since she was one month old, right, So we allowed that. We've applied for allocation of printal responsibility so we can become like the co parent or a parent

as grandparents for her. So that's in the court right now. We're kind of at the very end of that. So the tax thing is the biological file to pull the fast one on as this tax season he claimed her as a dependent and from one Well, here here's the deal. She's your dependent. You can prove it. You just claim her. You just claim her, Joe, you ignore what he did. You don't have to coordinate with him. Do you understand that? Yes? My problem, my problem currently

is out. The one bit of item you need for that is the Social Security number of the child to put on the tax schedule form that you fill out. So we know that we have we satisfy the relationship test, the residency tests, the support test, all that for the I R S documentation. He won't give us the SOB scurity number. Why is it, though, Why is it that you or your daughter did not have that somewhere? Yeah, that's that's a great question. So we don't No, no,

are you sure it's nowhere in your daughter's records. I have been coming through emails most of the morning. Let's get Larson on. Hold on a second, Okay, I want to get Steve Saizek on an attorney, So you hang on a right three all three seven one three talk three O three seven one three eight two five five. What a scumbag. This guy never had anything to do with his three year old daughter. Gosh dang it, and now he's claiming her after mom dies, and these people are dealing with the

death of their daughter, and now they got to worry about this. We're gonna we're gonna figure it. Mike. On the solar system, you said the way you figured your size was to take all of your kilowatts for the year two years. I averaged out two years. So that now when you average out two years when they size the system. And I should know this. When they size the system, are they sizing it for the per the

kilowatt used per month or per year. It's just the size of the system for an angle like eighteen point four, So eighteen thousand, okay, four hundred and I average used in a year, Okay, got it? And so now like a car bridgase, meaning what I shopped for that size of a system based on the cash price, not the finance price, and so I could get comparative and I got six estimates from six And by the way, not when you say cash price, you're not talking about after tax credits.

You're talking about the just the gross price right before tax credits yet, and that's what it should be. I totally agree. And because there's a lot of deception in the business because they want to sell you a payment based on your electric bill and that's where they make their money, because they want to sell you a seventy to eighty percent size system and profit that extra twenty percent is their goal, and thinking you're saving yourself money by going to solar,

but you could have got a bigger system. And that's a lot of people get shorted because they're not purchasing their systems properly, which is by size, just like buying a car. Got it. You want to be comparing apple to apples And I, okay, the system was forty six panels, So I have forty six panels on my roof. Each panels four hundred kilowatts, And that comes to basically, right, I understand. I understand.

That's good information. Thank you very much on that, because the only and the only other problem we have, of course with tax credits is when people don't need them, or don't use them, or they hardly will ever use them, then it becomes moot. You know, what difference does it make what the credit is. Of course, we're told you can sell tax credits. So Mark, you mentioned selling tax credits. Do you know how people

go about actually doing that? Do you? Because I've heard of it before, but maybe we should ask let's ask one of our solar people that that is a good question, how do you sell a tax credit? Three oh three seven one three talk seven one three eight two five five Jose, what's your issue with jet skis? What's going on? He decided that probably my English is a little better than this, but okay, and what's your what's your first name? Becky? Okay, Becky, let's talk what's going on?

Well, we put this chetski from Sun Enterprises June eighth of twenty twenty two. The first time out it sunk, and so actually you helped us, Glenn. He talked to them to get it fixed because they didn't want to fix it. They were like blaming us that we had something to do with that, and so we had actually called you and you were wonderful. And now why did it? Why did it sink? Wow, this is the beginning of this whole story. But what was the main reason did they

ever find out? I mean, I mean, why would it sink? I don't understand that part. It was in taking water, it was oh I see it. Yeah, it was just in taking water. And so it put you know, literally it stranded my daughter and my granddad. How did they fix it? Well, they had to report repair them as doing things in it and it and it took you all calling them to get it fixed without charging us, you know, for the repair. So what's wrong

with it now? So then we took it out again after they said they fixed there, and it took several months, several several months to get it back and it did the same thing. It took on water and sunk again. So it did this three more time and then finally and each time they made it feel like it was our fault, that we were the ones that didn't know how to drive it, that we were doing something wrong, and

it every time it put our family in danger. Found it out in the lakes and the last time we had it in the shop, even the people from the shop it was a different shop. It was one in long month. They just were like, you know, we hold on. I just I I'm not understanding. I'm not doubting you, but I don't understand how you sink those I mean, what do you mean taking on water? There's

no place to take on water exactly. But it did well, and then we got a recall notice that there was a result that something had to be fixed because not only that Jeski, I guess other ones they found out of the stand. Yeah, but that recall did it have anything to do specifically with its sinking? Yes, taking on water and wants to take some water. It just thinks, I mean, where does the water go that it takes on h into the inner into the water area and all of the inside

areas. So something so so, Becky, let's get right to it right now. Where does it stand with that jet ski? Is it fixed or not? Well, this is what happened, is that you know, I spoke with Kawasaki and it was totally unfair to always be blamed for what. Now we have a recall notice on so they they it was not our fault, and we've been we've have had this jis key hadn't been able to use it. Every time we did, it literally would put our family in danger.

And then they agreed finally to just reimburse us all of our money for it and take it back. And they said, you need to agree agree to this, and we will reimburse you everything that you bought for it, everything you put on it, the cameras, you know, the speakers, the covers, everything. So we said, okay, you know, we need to stop with this nightmare already, and we agree. So then I waited and then I called him and I said, so when are you all

going to send out the check? And they said, well, actually we don't. We don't want the trailer. We we're not going to buy the trailers. And I go, what do you mean? We already agreed on everything. What are you doing now? Hold on? Hold on, hold on, hold on? Did they was the trailer a separate purchase? It was purchased with the jet Ski No. I didn't ask that. I didn't ask that. I'm asking this is it a separate purchase or do they come

as a package. It was a separate purchase. But I agree they don't have to take They don't have to take that back. It certainly would be nice if they did, but they don't have to. Are Here's all I need to ask? Are they willing to buy the jet ski? Yes? But in the agreement that we agreed upon, the trailers, the speakers, the backup camera, the cover for the jet ski was all included. And we made that agreement. And okay, where's that agreement? Where where is

it? Is it in a contract that they that you signed? It is in the email that they sent us. Okay, and it says we agree to refund this, this, this, this, and this, yes, and this is the total amount that we're refunding with. I get it. And then what and then they what did you have to do to approve it? We just had to agree. We said, yes, we agree. Okay, you have that email. We do have the email. I'm thinking that when you tell them you have an email proving this, what do they

say? No? Well, the lady doesn't deny that. She just said I'm sorry. She's been working with me the whole time, that she knows everything that we went through. She knows everything that and she just I mean after we agreed, then they went back and they decided, well, no, actually we don't want how much is your total purchase with everything? It was the refund that they had originally told us they were going to send us. Is that what you're saying, Yeah, they had originally said they were

going to send us. It was like twenty six thousand and a little bit more. All right, you have an email promising that they and you have a woman's name that you've been dealing with. I want to give this to one of our people to call a deputy Dollar. Let's give it to him because you have the contract. We need to see this that they are not the contract, but the email and then the woman's name and all of that. We will call Kawasaki and say, why aren't you living up to the

promise? We'll ask them, I mean straight up, why are they not the dealer? I miss that? What's that mark? The wheeler has nothing to do with it right now, it's between the manufacturer has a recall on it. The manufacturer agreed to buy it back, and now they're saying we'll only buy the jet ski back, not any of the extras. To there's Eppetite just a little more. That's the brand new one, even more powerful than semigluetide. Denver dot com. Now Steve Sizik. He has a tax practice, and then he also works for a Larson tax

Relief and he's pretty knowledgeable. And Joe, I want to ask you a question first, Joe, I have Steve on from Larsen tax Relief just as our expert. I don't think this is the kind of thing to handle. But Joe wants to claim his granddaughter that he adopted, of course, or took in after a tragic death of his daughter. She's three years old. Father never had any contact with her at all, in fact, zero contact, and now he's claiming her as an exemption or as a deduction. And

Joe, I want to ask a question. You say you would just go right ahead and deduct her anyway, no matter what he does, because he's lying and cheating. And I agree, But you can't get her social Security number. You say the father knows it. Why does he know the social Jim, I think he got that during the process when my daughter arranged for

child support. Okay, that's what I want to ask. So he is paying coat he was, but when he found out that my daughter died, he stopped, and up to the point he stopped, had he paid more than fifty percent of that, So he was he was deducting her in the past. He was what he was deducting the granddaughter in the past. You know I do not know, Well, he must have been. He must

have been. Otherwise your daughter was, and if your daughter was, you can just look at her tax returns and get it right, right, right, Yeah, I don't have any of that information. Okay, So so Steve, right now, he can prove he's contributes to all of her support and maintenance and she's been living with them, and he passed every test for deducting the granddaughter. But he says he can't do it without the social Security number and he doesn't know how to get it. First of all, Steve,

does he need the social Security number? He does, And you're on the right track there, Tom was finding the other you know, the daughter's return. I assume that they would have taken a child tax credit, you know, when she was still living. But but not if the dad was doing it right. If the dad was doing it, she maybe would not

have done it right. Well, if they filed jointly, I mean I would have no no, they were they were not even together ever, correct, Okay, okay, okay, yeah, if there's if there, if the daughter has a return without the kid's social Security number on it, that would be interesting. But I would check and as an executor of the the state, which I assume he is or you know who who is. He

can get a transcript, attorney, get a get a transcript. And I would be surprised if this social creed is not on the return that the daughter filed. If you don't have the Social Security number, you know that is hard. You can't you can't claim that that individual without the social If you do end up getting the social go ahead and file the return as a dependent

and the I R S will either accept it or they'll deny it. If they deny it, that allows you an appeal, at which point you can get to your sort of day in court with the I R S to prove that you're the one that's deserving of that. But but let's say let's say his daughter. Let's say his daughter does not have I mean, if his daughter did not deduct her if the dad was paying child support, why would she have the Social Security number on her tax return. I don't have any

tax returns on there. Yeah, you able to cure those, But so Steve. If in fact the tax return does not have the social that doesn't know good And by the way, Joe, I know you're saying you don't have the copies, but you could get a copy easily because you have her death certificate, and I assume you're the personal representative. Yes, I have a death certificate. I have a copy of my grandchild's birth certificate, not

a real one. So I'm thinking I probably have to get use the death certificate, get a birth certificate, then use that to contact the Social Security I don't know if you have to go through all that, you might be able to go right on right now with or go make an appointment with Social Security. Take in the death certificate, and do you have any other temporary orders making you the guardian? We do, Yeah, I have court doe. I think that's all you need. Steve, I don't think do you

think they'll ask for her birth certificate? Fine? Yeah, I don't think we have to go fight because trying to get something from the Sociality administration is going to take months and months and months. I think what you already have, you should be able to secure it. Gosh, you know it's a young child though, So I mean, I would assume that they're social Security information is on any number of court documentations, that's how they identify people.

So Steve, I mean, Joe, Joe, if you take the death certificate and the custody papers or guardian papers. Make an appointment, don't do it online, make an appointment at the Social Security office and say it's don't get into the sun in law. Don't even get into it. That's not for them, Okay. What you then do is say this, and I don't mean to call them sun in law, but the biological sperm donor. What you should do then, Joe is just say it is critical you get

the social so you can include her on your tax return. I am. I think they'll just look her up with their date of birth and give you the number. That's what I think. That's the very first thing I would do. Steve, do you agree, yeah, hundred percent. I think you know, if you've got that guardian documentation, there's no reason why they wouldn't do and then you can use that to file your return and like that. I don't think you need the birth certificate. And if they say do

you have the birth city give us say no, I don't. If they say you need the birth certificate, well then well then that's a hurdle you can jump over. But the good news is this, if you truly have the proof, you're the one that gets to deduct her. Okay, that's all there is to it. And I believe that what you need to do is just stay on top of it so and you can call us back as well. But that's what I would do at this point. Three h three. Thank you, Steve Saysick. By the way, Hey, a quick

question, Steve, because today is tax day. Somebody said, oh, he's going to be real busy today. But do you guys don't work on deadlines like this, do you? Because you do kinds of tax you know, cases or does this? We don't. Yeah, we don't file returns, but it does pick up today and you know after today because people call us, they start thinking about it and then obviously people get returns that have

balances that they didn't realize they were going to have today. And so we are as busy as ever, but we don't have that accountant type of influx that most have. But I got plenty to do today, Tom Joe. I mean see, because I was thinking, after getting my tax bill today that I have to pay tonight. I was thinking of becoming a sovereign citizen and saying the hell with tax and maybe you guys would represent me. Have you ever had anyone quality. Yeah, that's called a conscientious objector, and

we do not take those cases. But have you no, have you had inquiries on it? Oh? Sure? Oh sure, yeah no, there's there's plenty of people that feel that they shouldn't have to pay taxes for various reasons. My response is usually I'm not in the business of arguing with legislators in Congress. If you owe taxes, then I can help you today as little of those taxes as a possible of the code. But if you just don't feel like paying them, that's probably not gonna be something we're gonna go

with people yet. By the way, on a serious note, Larsen Tax Relief dot com eight four four Larsen tax and Mark he's very upset because he has to pay an ugly tax. It's just one of those things. We got more coming out. Go with a sure thing Denver's Best roofer Excel roofing

seven to one to three talk seven one three eight two five five. JJ's got a comment on Joe's issue and the one with the daughter that died and he took over or they took in the granddaughter can't get the social and want to claim her on the tax is the deadbeat biological dad is claiming her? Hey? JJ, what is your comment? My comment is I just went through this. So he needs to take the death certificate and the court paperwork to vital Statistics. And he's said they had a copy of the child's birth

certificate. Take that all there. They don't have the birth certificate. Oh wait, wait, he does have a copy. You're right, he does the copy. Take that all to vital records or a MII old was born. They will print him a birth certificate right there. Twenty five bucks in the state of Colorado. And you take that birth certificate and the court papers over to solid security. You do not need to have an appointment. You just go and check in through their automated system. Give them the court papers,

the birth certificate. They give you the social Security number at that time, and they will have you fill out an application and they will mail you an actual hard copy of the solid security card. Well, JJ, thank you so Muchaul, thank you very much for that information. We appreciate that and it was successful for you. So that's good. Three all three seven one three Talk Dominika. Is it? I hope I have that right, Dominica. No, it's just Demonica. Thank you. Tom. Okay,

my call Demonica. What's going going on? Well, buddy, I hope you can help. I've got a niece that checked her car over to Pueblo Dodge. All this started back in January. She had an oil change done at at another facility and the car wasn't operating right. And the name of the place she took it to is where Pueblo Dodge. Chrysler Jeep got it in Pueblo, Colorado got it And that was in the middle of February and

they checked it out. It had a warranty. The warranty company wouldn't cover the part because they said it was within the one thousand miles or thirty days, you know that? Okay? So that okay? Was this a used car she had that she's under warranty or something? Well, it's a twenty sixteen jeep Laredo, has one hundred and fifteen thousand miles on it. They bought an extended warranty on it. The warranty company said, nope, it's past the limit for the coverage and we won't cover it. Well, what

does that mean? Though? This is what I'm not understanding. Just help me understand and I can see if I can help you this. When did she buy this jeep? Oh, she's had the jeep I want to say a couple of years maybe, and she bought an extended warranty back then, she bought an extended warranty in two and eighteen, I believe when she bought the car. Yeah, okay, so when she bought the when she bought the jeep, she bought an extended warranty. Correct, okay? And are

they telling her? And then what happened? Why does she think this should be under warranty? Well, it would have been a covered component under the warranty. However, the warranty was expiring and they wouldn't cover it's the transfer case on the vehicle. Okay, what part went bad on her car? The transfer case? How did it go bad? Though? Well, I'm not sure how it went bad, and I don't know that she even knows.

Well, here's why I'm saying this. Here's why I'm saying this because normal wear and tear, owner abuse, whatever it is, if it's normal or abuse or lack of maintenance, they won't cover it. But are they saying but are they saying that it's not because it was owner abuse, And it's not because it's normal wear and tear, it's because the warranty expired. It expired. Okay, when did they say the warranty expired? Ye? Well then why do you think if the warranty expired they should cover it.

No, that's not what we're saying. What I'm saying is we took the car over to Pueblo Dodge Chrysler Jeep in February. They diagnosed it and said it was a transport case and they had to order one. So today is April fifteenth, the car still hasn't been fixed, the part still isn't here, and they're saying, we don't know I got thirty five other cars waiting for the same part. Oh oh oh oh, so Demonica, you're not trying to get this cover. You just want to get the damn thing fixed

right, get apart. So I talked to the parts guy, who was at best marginal and very shortened Kurt, and I said, Okay, y'all have had the car since February. There's been little or no communication from you other than us calling and going okay, are you done yet? Are you done yet? So the parts or the service advisor calls today and she says her name is Leslie. She says, well, we now don't expect to

part until April twenty ninth. Oh my goodness, this is happening. Hold on, I need our people to look up this transfer case on a twenty sixteen Jeep Laredo to see if truly they are back ordered. Okay, let's just find that out first, and if they're not, then we can call and give them. Hell So, Kachina, let's check with any one of our car people and find out if the two thy sixteen Jeep Laredos is it the entire transfer case? Are they doing a rebuilt or what? Demonic,

They're waiting for the Yeah, what part do they need? And are do they need the entire transfer case? Yes, sir, they do. And he told me it's a mopar part. Right. How much is this trans how much is it costing? Well? He the quote that the lady gave us, Leslie was approximately four thousand dollars for the transfer case plus labor. No. Fourt oh four thousand parts in labor. Oh my god, you know, did you guys ever think about taking it somewhere else? Now?

No, we get we left it there, and I mean exact demonico. What if we found out Hey, Kaschina, I don't. Is Kaschina listening? If you can, I'm here, it's a Katschina. Maybe we called Jesse at Honest Accurate Auto in the Springs, Okay, and ask him if those two thousand sixteen Jeep Laredo transfer cases go with a sure thing Denver's best roofer Excel roofing dot com. Now why do I have Demonica? Dude? Did we get our expert on? I don't know why that's checked. I'm not going to take her right now, no, we're still working on getting a part information for you. Excellent,

Thank you very much for that. Let's go then to uh Adam, Adam, what's going on with you? Adam? Hey, quick summary of the situation. I bought a home warranty program through Liberty Home Guard. Yeah, I hate I hate home anyway, go ahead, I know. Yeah. So when we had an issue, the response in getting a contractor out was delayed, which you know perpetuates. The issue in this case was a water

leak. The contractor came and used roofing tar to seal a toilet like a wax ring, left tar all over the bathroom and then right now the water league came from the toilet, that's right, and he used and the contractor was it a plumber? That's a great question, Tom, it's whoever Liberty Home Guards sent. Okay, And so they sent someone back and the warranty company, the warranty company sent this guy who puts roof tar. How do

you know that? Because it failed the next day when the occupants flushed the toilet, it sent all of that down into the Is this a rental? Yep? And what happened after that? You had even worse problem? Yeah, so I called a local plumbing contractor. He pulled the toilet off and said, oh my gosh, who did this? Yeah? Some moron. No disrespect to my YouTubers, but I call them morons. But Adam, let me ask you something. Where does it stand right now? So Liberty

home Guard is not the claiming responsibility. They told me that I need to pursue that contractor's insurance, and get this. I did, and they lied. They aren't covered by insurance, so they defrauded everybody. They don't have insurance. I can't pursue that contractor. And Liberty home Guard says, sorry, well, nah, it's not that easy for them to get off the hook. First of all, that's what I called you. First of all, let me ask a few questions here. How much is the damage?

So all the water damage ended up being forty six for me. I had paid twenty nine hundred dollars for a five year policy with Liberty Home Guard, and I'm canceling it. They said, they give me three hundred dollars back. Yeah, no, I'm six months into the policy, so I'm out. Hold on, bro, just wait the repair period. I need to know the repair how much? Forty six dollars, that's all. Yep, it was drywall drying it out. Why didn't you put it in with your

homeowners? So, just to be super clear, the original water leak is what I called my own home insurance about. That was the cost of it. They had put the drywall back up. And wait, your insurance already paid for this once they paid the forty six Well it's a deductible, yes, But the problem was Adam, Adam, Adam, Adam, bro I'm just not understanding you. You had a flood. I need to know what you lost. If your homeowner's insurance paid for it, they will go after

liberty, They will subrogate. You don't have to worry about it. That's why we have insurance. So what are you looking for? So the coverage of the contractor that I had to hire to actually do the jump right to stop the leaking, and then the refund of the policy. Okay, I get it. And so right now though, right now the repairs have been covered by your homeowners mostly. Yes, Then then let me ask you this.

You're trying to get the cost of the warranty. I totally understand it, totally, And you're also trying to get the cost of something else with a contractor if they repaired it, what are what additional contracting work did you have done? So it costs me another seven hundred dollars to get the the repair actually made. So that's what I'm asking Liberty Home Guard to pay for.

Okay, got it? Animal? So the repair was for the wax ring, right, So you had asked that question, so I answered it, no, No, I get it, so, Adam, the call right now is to get seven hundred dollars for the waxwing repair that they should have done to begin with. I agree, and the cost of the warranty since they suck. I agree, right, That's that's all I'm asking for. Got it? And what do they say we'll do either? Ones?

Why when I asked for a refund, it's been six months of twenty nine hundred over five years, and I've used it for six months, they said, all the money that we paid this contractor comes out of what you've spent, so we can only refund you three hundred dollars, even though simple calculation would put it at at least twenty five hundred. But the warranty hasn't paid anything yet, right, not a dime right, they paid the contractor do

you mean they paid the original bad contractor? That's right? And how much did they pay the original bad contractor? They haven't shared all those details with me, but it looks like from the mass that if they paid them a thousand dollars one thousand and fifty, okay to come and put roof tar on. Yeah, and there they want to subtract that from your what was your premium? I paid twenty nine hundred dollars? Oh years, but okay, so then even if they took a thousand dollars off, they'd still owe you

nineteen How do they get down to three hundred dollars? It's beautiful. I did include that in the email. But they were taking away claims and taking away what claims? Adam? What claims? So any money that I paid to the contractor, I paid him out of pocket six hundred, and they paid him one thousand and fifty, and then the cost of canceling and the peraded amount, Adam, have you ever had a claim before with them? I had a legitimate claim, and I said, don't include that in the

calculation. I'll pay the seventy dollars that I paid that per Adam, Adam, how much was your previous claim with Liberty Home Guard? Oh it was seventy bucks. No, that's no. There's no such thing as any repair in any home costing seventy dollars. What was the cost? It was a service, Adam. I can't keep doing this. I need to know your total claims paid except the bad guy with the roof tar. What did Liberty Home pay for any previous claims? Not what you paid? What Liberty Home

paid previously. So they paid they're showing on thy fifty for who that was for the plumbing contractor? Okay, Adam, I swear to God, hold on, is this working right now? Hold on? Is this working? Just tell me dragon? Is my mic working? Here's what I want to know, Adam, Please, I swear to God. I'm not trying to give you a hard time. Here is what I agree with you. You should get your premium back. You should get whatever it takes to fix the

whack. Well, actually not not. If you get your premium back. I'll tell you why, because if you want all your money back for the home warranty, then you should have handled the repairs. But here's what I need to know, and it's very simple. If you had any previous claims, not this current one, any previous claims paid by Liberty Home Guard warranty, that should be subtracted from your premium before you get a refund. I'm not talking about anything else, but previous claims that they paid. How much

have they paid up to that point in claims? They have paid six hundred and seven dollars and fifty seven cents. That's what they paid in previous claims, six hundred and seventy Okay, So if they paid that much, then they should subtract that from your premium. And what's that? I totally agree, and they should give you a refund. And I think if you took them to Small Claims court, you'd win every penny. These people suck. Now do you have someone you're talking to a Liberty Home Guard warranty? Yes,

you have a name and number? Yes, okay. I And their stand is they don't owe you anything except three hundred dollars. I mean that wouldn't be a true statement since they said the allowable reimbursement is three hundred and fifty five dollars. When I look at I just don't know how they arrive at three hundred bucks. I just don't know. I put it in the email. It's pretty easy to see and to me, I have to still pay the legitimate contractor and I can't. Yeah, but listen, you don't

get it both ways. Here's what I mean. If you want a full refund of your premium, then you have decided this was no value to you. So you can't also ask them to pay for the most recent repair. Okay, you can't do it. If you want a refund, then they should give you a refund minus whatever they actually paid for a legitimate repair, not including this thousand dollars. What's that the period amount would be? Hold On, I got to take a break, you know what. Hold On,

I want to take a break. I'm going to go to some other calls. Adam. I want to look at your email. Okay, I want to look at your e mail. Because it all comes down to this. Math never lies. If you pay a premium, let's say, of two grand for insurance and then you decide you don't want that insurance because of a breach of contract or whatever, then you get that back. But if they have paid in anything in the meantime for a legitimate repair, it should

be subtracted from that. Now, if they paid for a bogus repair, they should not subtract that. Is that plain that should be Adam. I'm hoping you're hearing me, so I'm gonna look at your email. I looked at his letter and his email, and I understand what he's saying, but I totally

disagree with him on certain things. But I want to go to my expert, Jeff Vic and he's with Chimera Transmission, and I wanted to know Demonica is being told that they can't get a transfer case for that twenty sixteen cheap Laredo it's been sitting there for weeks. Jeff, where does that stand? Did you look at that? I did. They are currently on national back orders with no projected release dates, so Mopart doesn't even know when they're going

to be available. At least we know she's not being lied to Demonica. Yes, sir, did you hear what he just said? Yes? I did. And that's h that's just hardening, it really is. But you're, you know here, here's the good The good news is you're not being ripped off. They're not just telling you this. I mean, if anyone could find it, Jeff could find it, because I was going to say, if we could find the part, we could arrange get that car somewhere

else. But they can't find it. And you can't do a used one used transportation, Jeff, Jeff, since this is not being covered by warranty or anything, would she be able to find it? You can you find a used one anywhere? Yeah, there's several places that can do nationwide searches and see if there's anything out there. Just got to make sure you're not overpaying. I mean, they do have a lot of common failures inside that

transfer case. Hence the reason it's on national backward because they're not keeping up with demands, so you're you're likely to buying you know, what's going to be a problem a few months to a year or so down the plante. Now can you rebuild those? You know, I was looking through the parts inventory and they don't have a complete list of parts where I could go through

and constantly know that I'd be able to do it. Great, Jo Monica, He's saying, even he used one, you might end up with the same trouble because that's why they're on national back order, right right, right, So it kind of sounds like, maybe trade the car in and move on. Yeah, the problem is you're going to be trading it and it doesn't run right right, Well, it runs like we won't go very far in it simply because I don't want it to leave her on the on the

road, and it's it's not safe with a little kidney car. So yeah, I mean, what if you traded it, where would you go and what would you get for it? Not much on a trade in. I mean you're going to take a big beating on a trade in. Maybe the work we've done to look before the consult. Now, one thing I can say, if you have a twenty sixteen cheap Laredo with over one hundred thousand

miles on it, one thing you may those are hot vehicles. You might be able to get to privately sell it, and you sell it as is, and somebody might want to take a chance on that. Yeah. Yeah, well, I think from what y'all are telling me, it'd be best if we pick the car up rather than sitting on the lot, because that's what I say. That's what I say, risk the chance of damage stolen, stripped. And it sounds like they're not really being upfront about how long

it's going to take. Yeah, but they're not upfront because they don't know it's not their fault. We're kind of telling you, you know what, if you can't blame these people. So I got it. Yeah, okay. And I don't even see Laredo's listed anymore. I mean, are they even available anymore on cars dot com? I don't even it's not even a choice you can find Laredo. Yeah, I don't know. I don't know, Jeff. When I looked on cars dot com, you can't even buy

a Laredo. There's no place listed. There's no such thing. Is it a CJY. No, it's a Grand Cherokee. So that's that's basically you're oh, I'm sorry, it's a Grand Cherokee. So that's what the Laredo was called, the Grand Cherokee. God. Maybe, yeah, that's what they're telling me. But here's the deal. It's it's not it's not what I call it's not a jeep jeep right, No, it's not. It's not like now type of you would think I found around the hills. Okay,

it's not. Okay, now now I understand. But they're pretty hot vehicles too, I mean, they're wanted. Listen. I'm sorry, I wish I had better news for you. Now, where's the guy with the homeowners so warranty? Did he give up? I wanted to go back to him, but I guess he did. He hang up? He did, he had to go. So but I do have his number if you want to well, here's the thing that he has to go. I want to go. We don't have to do it now. I want to get to these other

callers, but I want to go over what I mean. I do really believe he has a good case, but not exactly the way he sees it. And I need to get some real figures from him. So we'll do that when we get a lull right now, Tina, what's going on with your awning? Tina on Bi, Yes, I purchased a two sets of awnings from Liberty Home Products, my second set that I got installed flow off during that terrible storm. When you say your second set was this underwe warranty

or you bought more? Oh? No, I bought two more from them. So it was my second set and your second. So the first set was fine. No, the first set ripped and I thought, okay, well I'll just go ahead and get it. They were not under warranty, so I went and purchased more. Wow, you're pretty nice. How long did it take for them to rip? You know, about three years? Oh? I see you know what who made that aunting? Did you say? Liberty Home Products? They are located on South Navajo Liberty Home Did they

actually make them there? They just a deal? Yes, yes they they I do believe they make them there, Liberty Home Products. Okay, you know. I've home. I found that it's really difficult in Colorado to get any kind of outdoor fabric that lasts ever. I mean, I mean, I don't care what they say, it's they just don't last anyway. So the first set rip, A second set did what? Okay, the man came and installed it. I have a very small house. It's a three

by five awning. During this windstorm last Saturday, I realized that the bolts were coming out of my brick. So my neighbors. I quickly called these two men and they came over. They took the bolts out for me, and they put it the awning in my house. Because it's only three by five, I called Liberty Home. Now did Liberty Homes actually do the installation? Yes? And when the guy put the second set up, I said

to him, this doesn't look flushed to the wall. And I said, do you maybe need to put He put those put of those things that you put the bolt in the whatever it is that holds the bolt in the brick. I said, okay, yeah. They call him different things like their brick mollies basically, but they go inside. They drill a hole, then they put this receiver or this, you know, healey coil or depends whatever. They put that in the brick to hold the bolts right right right.

So when he put it up, I said, you know, this doesn't look flushed, and he said, okay, I'll be fine. Well, hello, we get those wins. Okay. So it's so that gives me a better picture. It's not like it was lag bolted into a beam or into a piece of wood. It was actually put into brick. Correct. Okay, So anyway, what did you have You talked to anyone about it? Yes? I called Liberty Home. They took five days to get back to me, the person in the service department and emailed me, and did

the awning fall down or anything? Well, it was coming off and I have a big picture window. So the two men that lived by me took it down for me. They said, this is going to fly off anyway. So I called them. They did get back to me. She told me, uh, it was not under warranty. I understand that. Well, how long has it been up? Maybe three or four years? Now? Oh wait a minute, this is your second set that was up for

three or four years? Yes, correct? Oh right, So I said, well, I said I have the bolts, those smally things are still in the wall. However, some of the brick had started to break off. I said, so well, anyway, so this is all through an email, she texts, I don't think mail. Here's the thing. I kind of agree with you that you would expect an awning to stay up there more than three years. But I also understand that you buy it subject to a warranty. What was the warranty on that one year? God, you

know, here's some good news. Here's some good news. Let me give you some good news. It's not going to cost that much to get those anchors, that's what they're called, those brick anchors. Put in properly, it won't call. I mean, you can overdrill them and put in better anchors that that's not going to be expensive. Well, this is what they told me, I said, She said, She said, this is what we can do. It's a two man job. I went, jeez,

okay, four hundred and fifty dollars. She wanted to charge me. How many anchors are there? Six six anchors, and they'll put in six new hold on. They'll put in six new anchors and install it for for no. Yeah, she did not say whether they would put the same in the same hole. She just said, it's a two man job for four hundred and fifty dollars. So I replied, no, I can't do that. I'm a senior on a fixed income. I would be willing to give you

two hundred the common engine, which I still said is expensive. Tina, here's what we got. Okay, I agree with you in principle, but I want to tell you that technically, if it had a one year warranty, technically they don't owe you anything. Now does that mean I think it's right? No, I don't those anchors that should last you to me that warranty. I can see the one year warranty on the awning, but you would expect it not to come off the wall. Okay, I think that's

kind of wrinkydink. But the problem is they probably covered themselves by giving you a one year warranty. But the question is how do we get it fixed. I don't think. I don't think you need new holes at all. I don't know what the holes look like in your brick right now where those anchors are, but I am positive they can be reused, and those anchors can be reinforced and you can put the awning back up again. The problem is the problem is you're not going to get Liberty to do it, all

right. I don't know how to put this to you. You need someone else to do it, and I don't think I think it's going to cost every bit of four hundred and fifty dollars. Wow, I'm just telling you the truth, Tina. If we can find somebody to do it cheaper, but I don't know if we can. I understand you're on a fixed income. I understand everything you're saying. I'm in a agreement with you, but

we can't make Liberty Home Products do it. And if you tell them you'll only going to pay two hundred, they're going to come out and rush it again. I mean, had those two guys that took it off, who were they? Were they friends? Yeah, they were my neighbors. Do you think they know enough to reinforce those anchors? Well? My one friends eighty seven and I don't want him follow off the ladder. Oh of course not. No, of course not. You know, I probably can find

someone to do it and have him take a look at it. But here's what you want, Tina, Tina, you need someone who'll take the time to remove the old anchors or drill them out or reinforce them in place. But there are ways to do that, There really are. I have messed so many times with anchors and bricks and stone walls. They're they're pretty easy. Now there are POxy products, but they have to make sure it's drilled in enough. In fact, they have tools that you can use to put

them in further and then use longer bolts. There really is. I'm not sure of the condition of your brick or how old your house is. How old is the house nineteen fifty five? Yeah, you might be having some problems with the integrity of the brick itself, where the brick is crumbling. In that case, what you need to do they would have to put up a beam or something kind of like it would I hope it doesn't look bad, but they may have to put up some kind of pressure treated lumber over

the brick and bolt that and then put the awning on that. But Tina, here's what I'm trying to tell you is it's not going to be done much cheaper unless you get a friend or somebody. I wish I could tell you something different. But if you can't find a handyman to do it, would you call us back and let us let us take a stab at finding somebody maybe three oh three seven one three eight two five five. So we have a big conglomerate from Texas that bought the house next door to me. Replace what do you mean? What do you mean a big conglomerate bought the house? The Invitation Homes is a big company in Texas. It owns eight thousand homes in the state and twelve are in the country. And okay, you mean they bought it to rented.

Yes, okay, they took fence down, the cedar fence down that I didn't think needed to be replaced. They replaced it with shotting materials. Is it right next door to you? It's the common sense between myself and the neighbor. Well, the neighbor is now invitation homes, right, yeah, they only have but they've rented out. I get it. I get it. So they bought the house next door and they put up a shoddy fence. Yeah, yeah, he took the old one out. They put a

new one. But whose fence was it? It? Was it right on the property line or was it their fence? As far as I can tell, was on it's on the property line. They put it in the same spot. Yeah, I'm not asking that Bob fences belonged to people unless it was put up by the developer. Do you know if this because they're not allowed to just go replace a fence for the subdivision. So how did it work? Was it was it your fence? Was it their fence? Was

it the subdivision fence. Do you know, well, the original fence was the subdivision of fans and who is it on? Whose property? Is listen? Long story short, Bob. They can't just replace the fence, period, unless it's their fence. That I can't answer. I don't know. Okay, I'm assuming they're not stupid and they would not have done it. They did. They get a permit to you know, no no permits required in parking list it's over six feet, but part of the fence they put

up is above six feet like four inches. Anyway, what exactly is going on? You just don't like the fence. Well, it's a bad job they put it. They used to sick gold stained pine boards that are shrinking right now. There's a gap between the board, so the covenants they should have been replaced with a theater or a certain tea chest. The field period board, the stringer are just regular Parkay. I get it, I get it. Hold on and we'll come back to this. You're making it very

clear it's a shoddy job. We're going to talk about this and what you can do about it specifically coming up. I'm right here, brother, all right now. You see Mark's birthdays today. They made a big deal about my seventieth birthday. What you did not realize is Mark? Mark? You're right behind me? What are you sixty now? Or what? What hell? Old? Are you right now? Forty seven? Are

you forty seven? Sure? Just a young whip. He's a child, Tom, It's just a baby. Oh my god, you know you're I was. I couldn't believe when I first found out that you were than doc h he's old me? No? You me? Yep? Are you kidding me? I'm not as old as any of his shoes? What My favorite call into the show is when there's a sixty year old guy explaining how he remembers growing up and his dad listening to you. You know ADDIE's birthdays right after mine, her birthdays this week. I'm the twentieth. You know, maybe sus will you know, go will buy a gift in the vein of what you would do. Maybe she'll buy you a weed whacker or something. Maybe

she'll buy you a shovel. I mean, you know, because Mark like, well, buy her stuff like frying pans and you know, stuff like that. Anyway, just find anything that has a plug, right, right? Anything? Three h three seven months? Never mind? Oh god, my mind, never mind, Doc, just shut up? Okay, and YouTube morons don't even go there. All right, now, this is a family show. Let's go to Bob, who has a problem with the HOA. Now here's the deal. Let's get right to it. I need to

figure this out. But in any case, Invitation Homes bought the house next door to him and they replaced the fence. Well, they can't do that. They can't replace the fence without permission, and if they don't follow the covedence, they can't do it. I don't care who they are. So did you complain to the HOA? Bob? I complained to HOA. I called him Vatation Homes. I had them, but one of the uh, well, Invitation Homes, they're not going to do anything. Who did Invitation

Homes send a contractor out there? Well, they sent a contract out but it wasn't a fence contractors the remondl of restoration of it. But where did they what I don't understand is do you have an HOA and a covetant? Yeah? Okay, Well what does the HOA say about this? I mean it doesn't look bad. In other words, when you look at that fence line, does it go? Is there another fence that looks that doesn't look like it? I mean, is it? Tell me about it? Okay?

The stringers the posts? No, I don't mean specifically, I mean, like that fence that they replaced, Okay, are there Does it match the other fences in the neighborhood. No, because they didn't use the same material. But but did they get approval for it after the fact, they had the architectal con tol to me. It come out after I complained for months. Yeah, they approved it. Never contacted me or anything. Well, hold on, Bob, they don't have to they don't see, they

don't have to continue that part. I didn't know. So it was approved by the Architectural Control Board, but it's still if you could evaluate my property value the way it's Bob, Bob, listen, Bob, Bob. I understand you don't like it, but I don't and I don't know why the Architectural Control Board approved it, but they did. Even if it's after the fact they approved it, did you talk to them and ask them why they didn't take into consideration that it was crooked and that it was bad materials or

whatever? Yes? What did they say? They should have their problem? I mean, that's what say the Architectural Review Board? How how old is it? Subdivision? My house nineteen ninety one? So it's Strow Ranch. Oh it's stro Ranch? Okay, Well Strow Ranch isn't a bad neighborhood, so they have a weak HOA. Then I mean, if the Architectural Review Board approved it, Bob, I know you don't want to hear this,

but what can you do about it? Well, if not up the community standards and substandard material then you're gonna have to sue the ho the Architectural Review Board. It says you can't do them in the in the in the covenants, in the bylaws. Is there you mean? Okay, all right, if you agree to that in the bye Bob, let's let's talk about reality. Okay, I'm not talking about feelings now, I'm talking about reality. So here's what we have. We have a neighbor who put up a shoddy

fence. According to you, the Architectural Review Board approved it. You don't like it, I don't. Okay, there's no answer. I mean, I can't do magic you signed. You agreed to those bylaws when you moved in there. How long ago did you move there? Ninety nine? I truly don't think, Bob, that you're gonna get anywhere with this. And here's why. I don't think you could ever prove that that fence is going to affect your property value. Well, it's not even a privac defense anymore

because the boards is shrinking. Seeing seeds in the name of his are so say, will qualify a privacy fence? As I understand it, Bob, I'm not disagreeing with you, by the way, I don't think you'd lie about that. I'll bet you the fence looks like crap. But the Architectural Review Board are you sure it says you can't sue the Architectural review Does it

say so you can't sue your HOA currently? So? I mean, well, then then Bob, you can sue your neighbor directly for U and claim that they lowered the value of your home, but it's going to cost you that mark. Take an idea, what would that lawsuit cost him. Tell him twenty oh, Mark, Mark, he's going to have to prove that they lost value in his home and sue them. What do you you think you could do it for twenty Well you could have we ever Mark, have

we could get discovery maybe for twenty yeah. Yeah, But guys, isn't the class moved because until a home sells in his neighborhood, he can't say that reduce the property values. Not only that, but the point I'm trying to make to Bob is that he agreed to these conditions when he moved in there, even though it's antid and it's old. Bob, I don't I don't love telling people where they don't have a case right, But at the

same time, I don't want to lie to people. I mean, all day long, I get calls from people who don't have any leg to stand on, but they think they do, so they go on next door, or they go on Facebook, or they go on Instagram, and they go on TikTok and they talk about all kinds of injustice and all kinds of crap going on in their life, when really it comes right down to this, there's nothing you can do about it. Not all problems have a solution, Bob. Like I said, I'm not happy telling you this, but I

don't think you can do anything about it. There's no one to go after. Oh, that's that's sad. Well, it is sad, but it's reality, isn't it. Bob? Tell me seriously, and I what were you thinking? We might say, I'm just curious and I'm not promising you. I'm not giving you a hard time. I always say that because people get the mistaken impression. Well, why did I call Tom? He told me I'm off base. No, I'm not telling you that. I'm telling

you I agree with you. It's a pain in the ass. But you agreed to the covenants, you agreed not to sue them, and your architectural review board approved it. So what did you think you would have? Tell me what right you think you would have? Well, because some of the stuff in the covenants here or the architecture ruled a little bit of contradictory too. Okay, Bob, but that is then you have to fight to get those changed. Oh I hear it is Any fense improvement that varies from the

fence guidelines will require. And then well, anything that varies from the sidelines will require approval. Yeah, but it also says in here somewhere they have to be prior approval, and they didn't do that. Okay, So here's what I'm saying, Bob. They did not give prior approval. They gave approval afterwards. So what does that mean to you? That means they didn't follow the rules, which means what I'm gonna keep going until you give me. So, okay, they did not follow the rules. And there's a

famous word I use and my YouTube morons know it. Whenever I take a case, I always take the caller's words and put at the end of it the word Therefore, okay, Bob is saying, they did not follow the

rules putting up the fence. Therefore finish the sentence. Therefore, what they should be required to replace the fence with like materials that they took down, and do a quality job from a from a fence company, not summer restoration company, and follow GARYL business practices and the guideline the different companies use. It says who Bob says? Who says who? Well one for me, because I put up miles of fence and mind Bob, Bob, Bob,

if the covenants don't say. The bylaws don't say. If they don't follow the rules, therefore they must do everything Bob thinks is right. But to see the point I'm trying to make, even though you might in your mind believe you have a case, you do not have a case. First because they gave retroactive approval, and second because you can't sue them. You don't have a case. Now the next words out of your mouth will be,

it's sad because we went there before. Yes, it is, but not all problems have a solution, Bob, this can't be that important to you. You've been living there. How old are you right now, Bob, I'm just as old as you are. Seventeen. Yeah, sir, now serious, let me ask you. This is it? Can you grab that? Oh? I'll see you, bro, Bob, Bob, I'll see it. Take it easy. There's nothing we can do about it, man, nothing. Look. I wish I was the fairy godmother and I could

just do anything you wanted. But I can't. Okay, I just can't. Ah, man, You know, sometimes life is like that. Compass Insurance Group will do an insurance checkup free of charge. HI A longtime list there, especially when I'm in the car and I hear you all the time talking about people moving household goods and all the companies in Florida, how they keep ripping you off, adding more money, more money, more money, more than you'll ever believe. It

happens all the time, right. The only time I've used an auto transport, I bought a portie in New Hampshire and they shipped it out to me, and of course they picked the transport company so it was reliable from the dealer. I'm trying to send one of my cars up to my sister Milwaukee from Color Springs, and I just didn't know if this industry had the same kind of pitfalls as the household good moving industry. No, however, that

doesn't mean there are a lot of good ones. But I haven't come across let's put it this way, we haven't come across a lot of people complaining about it. And that's mainly because brokers and dealers are the ones that use these transporters the most. So when I needed to transport a car or two. Over the years I have used. I've talked to dealer friends of mine and said, who's a good transport company, and I came up with a couple I've used. But Mark, we need to get these guys on the

referral list. They get a whole bunch of free advertising, and we get a bunch of calls all the time. Mark and I always recommend the same guys Man, and they're getting like, not that I mind, it's just that what I'm saying is these people should, at least, you know, how do I put it, be responsible? So I mean, I here's what I mean by that, when they're on the referral list. I have control over them. When they're on the referral list, I can, for

example, force them to adhere to certain standards. Right well, I'm not saying they won't adhere to standards. What I'm saying to you is that I don't have any any guarantees that they will adhere to standards. All I know is I've used them in the past, and I like him, and I don't mind making recommendations to you. But what I'm trying to say is is that I don't want you to hold me and say, oh, you told me they would be pretty damn good. You know what I'm saying, because

I can't tell you that. But the two that I have used in the past that have worked. One is Baja Auto Transport Baja and it's three oh three eight seven two thirty six seventy two okay, okay. And then the other one, the other one is hold on, I gotta find it. And again, like I said, oh, JS Auto Transport seven seven four eight five five seventeen four three. But I can't tell you that that's you know, they're going to do a perfect job. I can tell you that

I've used them. Sure, I just didn't want to get caught up in the well. Now we need more money because we didn't realize that we had, you know, more tolls or and by the way, watch out for the ones that drive your car. No, no, this would be you know, on an open air carrier, door to door, taxes, insurance,

gas tolls, everything. And by the way, speaking of driving, there is nothing wrong with hiring you know somebody, you know, a neighbor, kid, college student, whatever, to take your car somewhere and fly him back home. Either. I mean, I'm serious when I say that there's sometimes that's you're retired. I could do that too, and I fly for freeze, so it's not a big deal. Just that you know these are in the neighborhood of five to eight hundred dollars. It might be just

simpler to let them take it for me. Yeah, that's true, So try those. Let you know what. I would love though, Ken, if you can give me some feedback on anybody you do use, because we're trying to build up a reference here. Thank you. Sure three three three h three seven one three talk seven one three eight two five five. Hey Alex, what's going on? Hey Tom? Thanks for taking my call. Yes, ma'am, I have an insurance question. I'm going from Shelter Insurance to State Farmed. Okay, Okay, I okay, listen. I don't know what went on with Shelter, but I'm telling you you could not make a bigger mistake than going to State Farm. talking about your problems, questions, complaints right now. Thomas. What's going on? Thomas? What's going on? Hey, longtime listener? Can you hear me? Okay? I sure can, man, what's happened in? Okay? I have a twenty fifteen Ford Edge. I took it in and I don't know whether this is an issue with groove or with the Ford mortar company. But I took it into Groove Auto back in October of last year for a noise coming from the front end, and they deemed it that it

was a axle issue with the front right passenger side axle. They kept it. The part was on back ordered forever and ever. I kept texting the guy back and forth. Finally, at one point he said, the part came in. They put the part in, drove it away. What did they say the part? What did they say? You needed a front axle the left side or the right side? Do you needed the whole axle? Okay? So they installed a new front axle. Got it well, they

said, they installed the front new apple. So when I drove away from the dealership that day after they said they did, they charged me one hundred bucks, which was the warranty that I had on it that I have through us. Are you saying, are you saying they lied to you? Well, I get it home, I put it up on a lift. I look underneath it and it looks like it's the same exact axle that was in there, I mean dirty and looks exactly the same. So I called the

guy. I took it back in there the next day and he kept it and I just got the car back last week and according to Ford, this is a part that is what they call. According to Gruvado, Ford is on a stop sale, which means it's no longer. They can't sell it. They cannot replace it, they cannot sell it. It's a forward part, but it is unavailable. So in order for me to get this done now, I have to go to a separate No. No, no, no, Thomas, Thomas, Thomas, you're glossing over the main point.

They charged you and said they replaced it. Yeah, but it makes the same noise and they said it was another ba No, no, no, Thomas, are you missing what you just said. Here's what you said. You said they charged me to replace the front axle when I took it back because it looked the same. They said, we can't sell you that axle, So which is it. Did they charge you to replace it and just lie to you? No, they charged me. They said they replaced it.

When I drove the vehicle away from the dealership, the same problem was there. I listen, I heard that part. So then you said they could not sell it to you, Then why did they charge you for it? That's what I want to know. And then on top of that, okay, so hold on, you actually let me get this straight. Groove actually said to you, now, Thomas, we charged you for this new axle because you need it, but we're not allowed to sell it to you,

but we're going to charge you for it anyway. That's what you're telling me me. No, no, no, no, okay. They charged me for it, and they replaced it. When I drove it away that day, I was assuming that the issue was gone okay and the car was fine when I drove it home. Oh no, I know you don't have to say it all again. Did they replace it or not the first time? That I'm wondering if they did, because why is it the same noise there? If they said they replaced it, because maybe they misdiagnosed it.

But I have another question for you. How did they replace it if apparently they're not allowed to sell them. Well, according to them, they got the part in and now they're telling me that the okay on what they call a stop sell and I get it or so since so what they're saying is since they replaced it the first time, they can no longer get it. I okay. Now it makes complete sense. So Thomas, we have to figure out if it was if you were charged for something they did or not,

and for that we need to send it to somewhere we trust. Where are you Where are you located? I'm in Littleton and I went to Groove Forward because they're the ones that I get. Absolutely they've worked on my car before with the transmission is yeah, but we don't know if they replaced it or not. At this point we're still on shore, right, I might okay because it looks like the same asso that was there before I took it in there. All right, then hold on and let's come up with some

recommendation. Hold on, okay, I really I'm backed up on this break, but you hang in there and we'll figure this out. Tom Martine. You're troubleshooter three oh three seven to one three talk. We often get this inquiry. People had work done on a car. They paid for it, but they had the same problem, by the way. There's a way around that, by the way, and that is when you have an invoice to make sure they're doing their job correctly. Create a little mini contract. So Thomas went in there with a noise and they said you need the front axle replaced. So on the contract they probably put they were going

to replace the front axle. What you need to make a note of is this will repla place front axle to do away or to address the noise from the left front or something like that. So you create a little contract. So when you go back and say, wait a minute, you didn't do what you said. Now, in Thomas's case, he looked at it and it doesn't even look like they replaced the axle. So Thomas, that's out and out fraud of that happened. How much were you charged for this?

Well, the warranty company took care of most of it, but I paid one hundred dollars. What warranty company, by the way, it was Carshield and they basically put me through the ringer or to even replace that. But here's the here's the big issue. Now they have had the car since October. According to them, this part has been back ordered from Ford. Well that's what I want to check out. I want to check out all of this for you, and we can do it with one of our experts.

So if you want to hold on, we can send you over to shard in All Tech to get it checked free of charge, just to see if they replaced it, and then we'll take it from there.
