Hello, I'm Tom Martino, here to help you solve your problems, answer your questions, take your complaints, and make life just a little easier. So welcome to the show. This hour brought to you by waterpros dot net. You know how I feel about water. It's the most important thing you can do for
your health, and then supplementation all that other stuff. So if you don't have your drinking water right, forget it, and forget the nanoplastics in the plastic bottles. I don't buy bottled water. I have waterpros dot net at my kitchen seeing fourteen hundred bucks for reverse osmosis. They also have lower priced and higher price options available depending on what you want to do. But this is reverse osmosis the best you can buy. Three oh three eight six two
five five five four. All right, I'm going to go to the phones. Then we're gonna talk a little solar and one thing I want to talk about a lot of people have said Tom, What the hell are you talking about when you talk about commercial solar systems making you money? Yeah, you know there's there. There are certain customers that have the ability to overbuild on purpose and can sell back to the grid. Is it worth it? We'll
talk about it with red Rocks rs redrocksroofinsolar dot com. And then we're going to talk about the rankings, the rankings for the best solar cities and the source is called roof Gnome. There are roofing agency and they did some rankings around the country based on solar you know, solar exposure and if it's cost all of that. We'll see if that's accurate according to Brook. But right now I'm going to go to the phones and we have Mallorie. Mallorie,
what's going on with you? Mallorie? Well, I got an issue with public stores here in Aurora now. And do you have a month to month yes? Okay? And how many units do you have one? Now, let's talk about your issue. You have a storage unit with public storage that you've had for a year. What's going on? Well? How my storage? The first time my stories you got broken too, was in November, so took care of that now, what do you mean you took care of it? Well, they took care of that. How did they take care
of it? They pay me for what was told out of my stories? You whoa, whoa, whoa? Really you know? What do you know? How unusual? That is? What I need to know is why did they pay you back then? Because normally what they say is we're not responsible for crime, you have to have your own locks, blah blah blah blah blah. So what I just want to know, roughly, how why did
they you know, why did they cover it back then? Because the guys said that their insurance company covered in public stores didn't cover it, or it is assurance company. Wait, wait, who who covered it? That covers public storage? Okay, their insurance company covered you. Yes, they must have. And by the way, if I asked you to repeat it, it's because you broke up a little letter. But if they, if their insurance company covered it, they must have felt public storage was in the wrong.
Yes, yes, and it'd be. What it was is the day that my unit got broken into, it was seven other units the same date got broken into. Okay, so now I went on. Okay, so let's let's move on from there, they paid for stuff right now. The second time I okay, come January of this year, I didn't. The last time I always aid my stores was in January. I didn't have the
money for February because I was saying going through some things. March come and when I get the money to pay for February and March, I go and pay and bring my okay piece date. Okay, So you missed you missed January, I mean February and March payment. Yes, but when did you go to pay job Jebruary? I went March eleven and paid February and March. You did do that on March eleventh? Yes? Did they accept your payment on March eleventh? Yes? And did you pay late charges? Paid
all of that? Okay? Then what happened? So I go up to my unit to go in it, and there's another lock on my unit, which is their lockout locks because my unit had went into auction status, so they put another lock on it so that I couldn't get into it. I get it. Yeah, went back to the office and the district manager that was there at the time, he came and took their lock off. So
when I opened up my unit while he was standing right there. I can immediately notice that there's things missing out of my unit already, because I had a bike in there. I had a tope right next to my bike that had brand new shoes in it. I can immediately see that's gone. So ill him, somebody's been in my unit. He tells me that's impossible because the the luck is still on it. I tell him, no, that's not impossible, because how is it. I haven't been here since January.
My stuff was in here in January. I'm going to tell you what happened, in my opinion. In my opinion, I don't know if this happened, but it sounds like when you missed your payments and they went to lock you out, they probably wanted to get an idea of what was in there, and somebody may have taken something. Yes, the employee did. Now, how do you know that? You said that emphatically? How do you know that? Does an employee need that work there? He was telling the
district manager that morning before I even came before me. How do you know that? How do you know that? I because he told me. He so, who told you? Who told me? Quentin? Okay? Is Quentin the employee that told you that. Yes, he points when you showed up to pay February and March, Quinton said to you, by the way,
Mallory, somebody has taken some stuff out of there. No, he didn't know until me and the district manager came back into office, and I was telling the district manager, look, this is an excite job, got it, And Quinton said, what as you're correct? It is? Now did Quinton say that in front of the district manager. Yes? Yes, And what how did Quinton know? Because it's the managers all have certain codes and looking at the records of entry, it's all the manager's coast after hours,
so no one can access the unit after nine o'clock but managers. Yeah, he looked up. He's looking to codes up and he's seeing that he's more manager's cost than customer. Now did the district manager. Did the district manager listen to Quentin? Oh, he listened enough to fire him. Wait he fired Quinton? Yes, yes, he fired him. Okay, it sounds to me like, did you get Quentin's contact information? Yes? I do. I have these information phone number and name. Okay, so what
happened after that? Now? Wait a minute, when you were there. Did he get fired right when you were there? He got fired right before the glad to make a police report. Now was this all the same day? Yes, all the same day? So you called the police. And when the police came, were you there? Yes? I have stood there and wait for them to get there. Got it? And when was Quinton exactly fired? I would say not even ten to fifteen minutes after I was
explaining to the district manager this is an inside job. Okay. Did the district manager here Quinton talk about this? Yes, so he was pissed. The district manager was pissed that Quentin told you that. Yeah, I would be pissed too, unless Quinton really knew it. Now, Quentin was surmising it based on access logs, But did Quinton really know it? There's no video of it. The only guy, Camel's on the outside got it.
Got it? And Quentin's theory is that some of the employees or managers got access to your unit that morning, some time between February and March eleventh. Okay, but here's what I want to ask, Mallory. What do you mean they had access to the yard or to your unit, to the whole storage unit. Once you punch your code in at the gate, you can go in and okays a soap, But hold on, here's what I need to know. I'm trying to make a logical leap here or connection. Just
because people had access. How do you know they went to your unit and took your bicycle and stuff. I didn't go take it. Well, I understand that, but a bunch of people had access. Why do you feel it was that? I mean, seriously, the way you think you can prove it was an inside job is that some of the employees had access to
the yard because of the way my luck was on my unit. If the first time my unit got broken into in November, they kicked my unit in this time when I went to my unit, like I said, my luck was still on there, no damage to it in the door, and their luck was on there. So there's there has to be a master lock to call him locks up there in order for them to open my unit up. This is all called logical and circumstantial, but I'm not sure it's going to
be enough. In other words, let's just say you sume in small claims court for what you're missing. Let's just say it. Now, what is your proof that a guy named Quinton who worked there, saw the logs and some of the employees had access to the storage units. Big deal. That doesn't mean they went into yours. I mean, look at I'm not trying to give you a hard time. I'm just saying I'm not sure it is enough to prove it. Mark. Does it sound to you or Deputy Doc,
does it sound to you like that's enough proof? No? No, it sounds like hearsay. But if the guy Quinton, okay, and let's say he subpoena is the logs and he sees that certain did these employees come in on their off hours? Mallorie? It would have had to because the place closes at nine. Okay, hold on, I'm Tom Martino three oh three seven one three talk. We will examine this. What does he do? By the way, eight eight eight heating dot com extraordinary free plumbing inspections
of your entire plumbing system and free furnace inspections as well. You have to have patients when you book them. And by the way, they're are high efficiency experts and they work a lot. You know often people call us and have a connection in their minds and it's probably accurate, but impossible to prove. And unless the company or the other party is willing
to come forward, you have to force their hand. Now, Mallory, you understand that the fact that people had access to the entire facility does not prove they took anything from you. Now you're saying, logically, if they had their own lock on there, and they have access. They're the only ones that could have done it, So I don't disagree. I'm wondering how much they would fight this. Are they willing? Are they willing? Let's ask this first before we talk about small claims. Are they willing to do
anything for you? I don't know the district manager we were staying there. He told me to call the police, make a police report. Once a police report came, he would look at the cameras to see because the only thing that would really give him the clue is to see who came out with my bike, because the bike is a bigger item that does not easily hid. So, okay, you can look at the cameras. Did he But you said there was no camera, There was no video. The cameras is
outside. Oh so he hasn't done that yet. No, Okay, here's what I would do. How much in total? Are you missing quite a bit? Well, give me an idea, I mean quite a bit. What did you have in the storage unit? I had? I had both brand new clothes, brand new shootings. My bike will give me a value that you think, what is your bike worth? Bikes aren't that expensive unless you have a really I mean, are you a cyclist? An avid cyclist? Sometimes I ride a lot? Well, no, I'm asking how much
is your bike worth, Mallory? Worth nine hundred and thirty one dollars? Okay? Did you buy it for that? Yes? I bought if a hirer than that, but it's all sale now for nine hundred and thirty one, nine hundred and thirteen dollars. Okay. How old was that bike? It was just now about last year a yuroo. All right, and how about the clothes? What do you think usually they value clothes at fifty percent? What are what were your clothes worth? Were they brand spanking new?
Brand new? Had no clothes in a storage unit? Because I'm homeless right now? Oh my goodness, Mallory, I didn't know that. Okay, this is really important to you. So put a value on all this stuff. My granddaughter's close. I would say, I bought. Just give me a value for all of it, Mallory. I would say, at least three thousand to thirty five hundred for all my clothes and my shoes, and your and your bike. Another thousand on top of that. Yes, so
let's just say forty five. Let's say five grand you can initiate. If they don't come through, you need to get that other guy, Quentin, I believe you said his name was, and you need to initiate some kind of small claims court action and have him talk about how people came in on their off hours. And then you need to hope the judge will put that all together for you, and how you can put the logic together that your lock had been removed, their lock had been put on there, and you
show that these people came back on their off hours. So maybe they no, they left my lock it, Well, then how would they have gotten in? That's my point. They have a master keycha every lock up there? Oh wait a minute, that lock was not supplied by you. That's there there. They supplied that lock. Yes, Okay, well it's the same. It's the same argument, Mallory, same argument. I mean, I don't see what else you can do. First, let's hope that public
storage will come through for you. If not, here's the steps we're gonna do. First, we're gonna see what they do voluntarily. Second, we're gonna give it to deputy doc to call over there, okay, and then third Mark is gonna help you logistically with the small claim part. Does all that sound okay? Yes, okay, So first let's play nice first with UH with them, and then you call us back. I'm writing all this down, so I'll have it here, okay. Just you just make sure
you use the same first name. That's how I do it, Mallory. Okay, and then we'll have then then we'll have each step of the way. But let's figure out what's gonna happen here. I have a feeling they might fold three all three seven to one three talk seven one three eight two five five. By the way, Compass insurance groups still doing insurance checkups. Martine, your troubleshooter. Yes, we will have a discussion on commercial solar systems that can actually make you money. Coming up. Brenda wants to talk about one source. I believe Brenda's calling about this, clown. Is this so Walter Lovely you're calling about? Hello? Is this about Walter Lovely? Brenda? Oh? No, one source? Oh okay, he was the beginning, he was the general, that's right, and then he coordinated contractors.
But then you hired you hired one source on your own to fix up what they screwed up, right, And you're saying, okay, so and I'm sorry about that. By the way, Brenda, my goodness, you have to deal with so much. So now tell me what one source I was going to give this. I gave this to Deputy Doc to call over to one source because you wanted credit for work they didn't do. Yes, well, Doc, did you call over there? Hold on, Tom, I'm checking my notes. Okay, anyway, what's going on with you,
Brenda? Do you have anything to tell us or are you just calling in
to check. No, they called me so that I could talk. So yet, one thing I can tell you that I didn't tell you Thursday or Friday when I talked was the reason one sources bill was so high was because I bargained with them because they had just come to my house, my main house, and said it needed a new furnace in maybe two years or so, and I did not get it at the time, but I bargained with them for the new furnst after they told me that the furnace, the brand
new furnace that was put in the little house was wrong. So then I said, okay, if you can give me the furnace in my big house that cost, I'll do it. And he said, well, we can't do it at cost, but we can do it for a really low price, which it turned out they're really low price was seven thousand dollars and that is a really low price. Okay, so that was good then, I mean, it's not it's not wholesale, but it's a good price. How big is your house? The little house in the back were my maid the
one where they charged seven grand. That house is about one five hundred square feet, so it's it's a little I don't know. You know what, by today's standards, that's not outrageous. But here's what I want to know. What are you calling about today? It did? Did? Did they replace the furnace in the little house and the Big House? Yes? What happened to the furnace that that clown sold you Walter Lovely? They took that furnace because they said that furnace was wrong? And then they what do you
mean they took it? Did they give you a trade in credit? No? Well what did they do with it? It was a brand new furnace. Yeah, they said it was wrong and they took it. They paid, Well, what do you mean they took it? It has value? Yeah, I don't know. Well what you hold on? Do you understand you paid thousands of dollars for that first furnace? Yeah, it was brand new, and you're telling me that one source simply hauled it away? Yeah? Why did you let him do that? Oh? My, I don't
know. Brenda. Listen, if you were going to get credit for that furnace from Walter Lovely or his contractors, you're gonna need the furnace. Where is that furnace? One source took it? I where is it Did they make it disappear? Did they What did they do with it? I don't know. I know they took it, though, Brenda, what are you calling about today? You guys called me because I guess there was time for
me to be on the show. Okay, so today basically they remember, they took out the right furnace, put in a brand new, huge furnace. The city disapproved that huge furnace that they put in, and then they took that out and put back a furnace just like the old one. Well, how do you know it wasn't the old one? Yeah, I don't know if it was. It wasn't. Branda, God, Brenda, when you first, he's not here, he's coming into studio here in a minute, Oh is he? Okay, let's give it to Chopper. Let's call
here's what I want to do, and you can give them instructions. One source owes her money. In my opinion, how the hell do they justify charging her for stuff she didn't get? And who is one source? Anyway? What are they? What is one source? Didn't you say, Mark? You looked them up there. They're a company, that's all they are. Yeah, Okay, let's let's get Chopper to call one source three oh three seven one three talks seven one three eight two five five Brenda. We'll
get this done. Okay. Now I want to talk to Tanna the she has a problem with the IRS. Tana, what's going on with you? Hey, what's going on? Tana? Well, you know, is it Tana or is it Tanya? It is Tanna like in Montana, Montana? Tanna. Okay, Tanna, what's happening. Well, I'm not having a problem with the IRS. I'm having a problem with Senior Apartment of Revenue. Oh okay, what's going on? Well? I filed my taxes through a
turbo tax on February nineteenth. On February twenty second, I received an email from the State of Colorado saying they had received my return. Then they didn't hear anything for a while. So on the fifth of March I got on their website and it said they had not received nor reviewed my tax return. You said, you already got a confirmation email, and then they said exactly, and they said, never mind, we never got it. Yeah,
we're just kidding. Okay, So the email. Did you keep a copy of the February twenty second email of course, yeah, okay, And then when you would if you go online today, they still claim they didn't get it. No, I went online. This was on the fifth of March. They didn't get it. However, on the sixth of March, because I checked daily, they say they show that they have issued a check to me. Now, when I filed my taxes, I gave them my checking
account information. It was all correct. But when I checked and I checked it again today just to make doubly sure, their website says that they issued checks to some people to avoid the possibility of fraud, which is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. The IRS and the Social Security Administration send me my money via direct deposit, but the state of Colorado, someone decided that there are certain people. So was your let's get right to it? Was yours
mailed? Oh? They say they mailed it. Now on the sixth I checked again. On I checked the fifth, they hadn't received it. I checked the sixth, Oh, I got it. I heard that point. Did they say they mailed it or they did it electronically? They say they mailed it, that they made the decision to override my request to have them direct deposit. I get that, and they have every right to do that. So what happened? Nothing? I still haven't gotten the check. Okay,
do you think, well, heck it was the twenty second. It's almost a month. Right, Well if they show, do they show it was cashed or what? Oh, they can't tell you that, and you can't talk to a real personal. Let's get Larson tax Relief on. Hold on a second, okay, sure, I want to try to get Larson on just to talk about this in general. And there are tax experts eight four four Larsen Tax for They handle usually people with non filing and refunds and

Hi Tom Martino here, All right, we're going to get an expert. We're trying to get an expert for that Colorado Department of Revenue problem right now. Gwen's got a problem with a contractor. Gwen, what is going on with a
contractor? What's happening? We hired a contractor to do an addition, and who'd you hire? Quality builders? Okay, what happened? They were doing the addition. We told them a price and they agreed to it. Wait, you told them a price and they agreed to your price. Yes, okay? Is it in the contract, Gwen? Yes? Okay? And how much was it for in the contract? One hundred and eighteen thousand, okay. And what happened one room of a our existing house. Okay,
it was it a pop top. No, it's it's a it's a ranch style house. And they were just going to do in addition one room bedroom with a closet and a bathroom. But they were going to do that on a second floor that doesn't exist. They were going to put a second floor that's called the pop top. Okay, go ahead, okay, okay. So when they did that, they found out that they had to push it in five feet for some reason, but no one would tell me that reason.
But we lost five feet inward on one side, so in doing that, we pushed it further the other way. They never got your approval for that, Yeah they did, oh okay, but they didn't tell me what the reason was. Oh, okay, got it then. So then that made it smaller and we needed more rooms. So I told him he could go over to the we having an existing skylight in the roof, and he
could go over that far. But that was it. Well, when they did that, they didn't rein factor that the bathroom coming up that they were redoing, or you know, making the furnace, the flume of that would come up into the middle of the bathroom. Right. Well that, yeah, there's always alterations people make when they do additions. Yeah, so let me get right to the problem. Are they overcharging for that change? Are they charging? Are they not tell me what the problem is right now?
Okay? The problem is that in doing that, we had to buy a different furnace for it to go out sideways? Okay, up, and then we also ourselves in twenty seventeen put in a new twenty and sixteen water heater. When they oh, that's pretty much that they wouldn't be wrong getting another one now, But do you need a new water heater? Well, what they did was, yeah, what they did was they put it a kit on the water heater for it to go outside. In doing so, we
have found out that they ruined it. It wasn't the correct kit to put on that water heater. Oh, okay, so they have the water heater. Did they replace the water heater? No? Do they know that that? Okay? Do they acknowledge that the kit did not belong on the water heat. I don't know if they're acknowledging it. I sent them over bell Plumb Plumbers, yes, which he was very disgusted and said it was illegal
what they did. Okay, hold on. What we need to do is find out what we can do now, because apparently you did consult Belle Plumbing and they gave you an opinion. And I'm not sure if Quality Builders agrees with it. But we'll come back to this and more coming up. Plus redrocksars dot com Go with a sure thing Denver's Best roofer Excel roofing dot com. Three oh three eight six two five, five five four. Let's talk to Larson Tax Relief about this problem. Michael Plantinga is with us. He's with larsontax Relief dot com. They're great people forgetting your tax problems
solved, but they also serve as experts for us. And Tanya says Michael that she followed with TurboTax on the nineteenth, got a confirmation email on the twenty second saying they got the UH return at the Colorado Department of Revenue, and they said on March sixth they issued a check and mailed it to her. Now she had requested electronic you know, distribution, or she wanted to get it to wired or however they'd aciate and they decided to mail it.
She took issue with that. And by the way, on that topic, Michael, they said that they reserved the right to mail checks that they think something's weird. I don't even know, Tana. What did they actually say about why they mailed it? They all they say is that it's a fraud prevention measure. Have you ever heard that, Michael? Then you know, not doing an ah instead mailing a check. Well, first to clarify,
Tom, are we talking about Colorado Department of Revenue? Yes, yes, okay, I have not heard of that before, but it wouldn't surprise me. Okay. Now, next thing, it was mailed they said back in uh, you know, a month ago. So what's going on? Does it usually take that long? Or what happens? Did they mail it? Does she call somewhere to see if it was cleared or what does she do? Well? What I would first say is perhaps it was mailed to a
former address hard to say, or it got lost in the mail. Her best bet is likely to just contact the department directly and inquire as to the status of the check. They mean need to put a stop on it and
remail another one tongue. That's what if it was cashed. What happens in those cases when somebody steals a check that I have not encountered before, But I would imagine that the state would then need to But here's what I've heard on that they don't take I don't think the state takes responsibility for fraud or for They don't take responsibility for fraud or theft. That's what I heard. But I want to know something. Did you actually call them Tanna yet?
He said just call and find out if it's been cashed? Of course I did. They don't am a real person to ever answer the phone that you just get a recording. They refer you to their website to check the status of your refund. There is no person to talk to you. I mean, I've called every number I could find. You know, I've contacted their coming a revenue tax to your service. I've contacted the Governor's office. I've contacted Mike Lynch's office. How much is the refund check? How much is
it? It's only twelve hundred dollars. But I'm disabled. I live on Social Security here twelve hundred. That's a lot of money. So that's a lot of money, Tom. What I would suggest, Thomas? She called the collections department with Colorado Department of Revenue. Now why the collection department I ever work with and deal with. But they're pretty good about answering the phone. She may be on hold for five ten minutes, but they may even
be able to give her guided the collection. You know, that's one way. When you go online, do you have a log in? You use Tana? Yes, and so you have a username and password for your account? I do, yes? And what does it say when you're on there? You go on and there's you know, there's a menu and it asks if you want to contact them, and I do, and I send emails and I send emails and I don't ever get a response. All you can
get is go back and check the status of your refund. Well, obviously you know I have done that, and I don't I guess I don't understand the criteria that was used to decide that it was mine that they could do this with. I hadn't worked for the previous two years. I was exempt because I'm just abled, And well, you know that Tana that Let's put it this way. I want to I want to get right to that point
because you've mentioned it a few times. That's not going to matter. In other words, whether they had a good reason to do it or not, it's not going to get you any different outcome. I mean, it's just I don't know. I know what you're saying. Why the hell they mess with my check? Why didn't they just send me the refund? I don't know the answer to that. And Michael says he's never heard of them opting to mail it when somebody asked for an ach a ach is much easier for
them. Now, while you guys are on, I want you to hang on. I want Brenda to comment. What Brenda, what is your take on this? You say you have a comment on Colorado Department of Revenue. Well, the same exact thing happened to my son in law last year with
his taxes. And what happened him, Well, they had selected they want a direct deposit, and then they didn't get the check, and so they called and they said the same exact thing that they had, for fraud reasons, decided to mail it and they waited for the check to come, waited for it. Comment never came, so they called the Department of Revenue back and requested they stop the payment and issue another check. Well, of course, the check showed up right when they did that, so then the first
check they got wouldn't work. So then they waited for the Department of Revenue to send a second check, which took like three or four months later, and it went to either a day from person that they when they called back, they said somebody else cast it and they were going to have to research who cast it. And then bottom line is they never got the refunds. They say, they never got it. So let me ask you this though, because this could help. How long did it finally take that first check
to show up. Well, they waited the three or four weeks, you know, after it was mailed, and literally they filed on Friday that the checked me. So it took about four weeks. It took about four weeks and then yeah, and when they did the stop payment on Friday, of course the check came on like Tuesday. No, no, I get it now. This is what I'm thinking we should do at this point. And thank you, Brenda. That helps us a lot. I appreciate that Brenda.
You know, when listeners call any this tells me something. She says three or four weeks, and it's been about four weeks. You know what we should do is just it hasn't actually been four weeks yet, TENA we ought to just I'm not saying we're going to drop this, but let's get it at least another week or so, and then we'll retackle it, because because if this is a personal experience. Hey, Michael, have you heard how long it's been taking for actual mail checks. Do you remember during COVID
how they were doing. They were waiting two months to get stuff done. Yeah, I agree with you, Tom, Maybe wait another week and if not, then try calling Colorado again and again. I would let her know to call the collections division. It's on their website under tax collections, and if she just gets some answer to the phone there, they might be able to transfer her. Okay, that's a good point, Michael. While I have you on, what are the challenge and by the way, just do
what we say, Tanna. I wrote this down. When you call back, I'll know you know, I'll go right to your record here. Now, Michael, what challenges have been have been? People have been having as many challenges this year as in past years. No. So far, the filing process with both states and IRS has been pretty smooth. It's always a challenge when people mail returns in for processing, but if they electronically file them, they go pretty quickly. And what about tax fraud? I hear that
as a major problem. That is a problem, And one of the issues we encounter is taxpayers will be issued and notice by the IRS saying hey, your twenty twenty two return was flagged for potential fraud. Please call us with this PIN number to verify, and people won't call to verify, so then they're twenty twenty three returns put on hold and it just stacks up if they don't address it directly. Hey, Tom, how do you know you're really calling the right people? Tom? Can I ask Michael question hold on?
Yes you can, But Michael, how do you know you're when they say you know your your tax return has been flagged? And we assume the I r S will never call us, Yes, they're always going to contact us. I should be a scam that someone creates down the road, but usually it's on IRS letterhead. And if you have a tax profess professional like an attorney like myself representing you. My client would just forward it to me and say it's just legitimate, and I could give them advice as to whether or
not it is. If people, if you ever get a notice and you're not sure, call us please and eight four four Larson tax is Larsent Tax Relief dot Com l A R S O N DOC go ahead. What's your question? Is there anywhere that she can go and talk to somebody in person? Do they have an office or something where she can talk face to facing? Those days are over? I'm not sure, are they, Michael.
It's tough to say. I mean, she could try going to the Department of Revenue directly and seeing if there's a receptionist or someone there that could give some advice or guidance. Well, not not a reception but one of these might be long gone time. Well you know that. I know what you're saying. But how did what if she just show up? Doc? I mean there used to be a place downtown where you could go and get forms
and stuff. But I just you know, like sometimes like with Social Security, if you go to their office, it's a thousand times better than trying on the phone line. I don't think the I R S. Actually, I don't know that, Doc, I don't know that. I'm going to ask. I'm going to ask my expert GP chat GPT. Okay, uh, you know, by the way, I was just telling Brooke from Red Rock Solar. I was saying that I have found chat GPT to be very to be on and off. They have a lot of mistakes. I asked
them a question about qualified investors, just I was. I just had a question about qualified versus accredited. They were all wrong, totally wrong. So that's weird. But anyway, so does the I R S take in person appointments? Let's see what it says. And I don't know. Have you guys used this yet? Mark, do you use it at all? Chat GPT? Tommy's doing something on video. I do not use it. Our kids use it though. That's kind of okay. You can make an in
person appointment. You need to schedule it in advance. For individuals with tax issues they have not been able to resolve on the phone. To schedule it, you call the IRS appointment line. Have you ever heard of that? Michael Plantanga the appointment line? Okay, And then you have a tax they have a tax assistance center located in your area and you get face to face help. They say that's what she needs. I would say, that's the next step, So let's wait a week or so and then do that.
Sally's got a comment, Go ahead, Sally, what's your comment? Hey, that's pretty normal. I moved out to Colorado in twenty twenty in March, and I had styled my state refund and they didn't. I opted for direct deposit and they told me they were sending me a check. So I asked him why and they said, it's just random. They said, oh, you know, some people they send it to you and some they don't. It's just kind of like a lottery type of thing, quote unquote.
But that does not sound abnormal to me at all, because it happened to me. And my problem was I was moving out of state, so I was like, well, how am I going to intercept that check? But it ended up going to my Colorado address? And how long did it take come to my uh, I don't know, three four weeks maybe? Okay, she's right at the third night, three and a half weeks or something. So Sally, thank you very much. I'm Tom Martinez. Three oh three seven to one, three eight two five five. Go with a sure

Hi Tom Martino, you're troubleshooter three oh three seven one three talk three oh three seven one three eight two five five. Welcome to the show. All right, listen, we have a lot to talk about. I have a lot of questions coming in on solar, so be patient. If you have called us on solar issues. Okay, Now I want to go back to Gwen because this is uh, this is who we left off with high quality builders. Basically, you say altered your plan because they said they had to.
We don't know if it was a building department issue, a permit issue. We have no idea why that happened. But they had to alter the plan, causing them to need a causing you to need a new furnace. You said, right yes. And in addition to that, they tried to adapt your water heater to be put outside and they ruined your water heater. Now, your water heater was old enough anyway that they didn't ruin much.
It was eight years old, although you know water heaters can last fifteen and sixteen years have taken care of. But what I need to know is this, if we call quality builders, do they admit that they ruined your water heater? No, they are not omitting it. But she did ask for a second opinion and then still didn't do anything. Okay, Is the addition done right now? No? We told him they could do that, we could do the tile, and they did not listen to us, and they
did the tile themselves. So we had to put an additional five thousand to get them done. I'm going to ask this gw again, Gwinn. Is the addition completed the upper room? No? Okay, what needs to be done still under the contract? Well? Nothing, because they quit it. We stopped it, so you fired ourselves. You fired how much have you
paid well so far? The one eighteen, the forty five thousand for the water heater, forty five thousand dollars for a water heater, forty five hundred, oh my god, forty five hundred for the water heater, two hundred and seventy dollars for the kit that goes on top of the water heater. But you said you bought a new water heater. Did they ruin the new water heater or your old one? Well, the old one was only twenty and sixteen that we put in in twenty seventeen. Here's what I'm asking.
I'm going to ask this again. Did they ruin by putting the adapter on to get it outside? Did they ruin the old heater or a new one? Yes? Yes, that one, the twenty sixteen one. Okay, so you bought a new water heater. Yes, we bought a new water heater. Okay, Now I understand without regard to who owes who what, here's what I need to know. Where does it stand right now? With your addition, how much still has to be done by either you or then,
without regard to who should do it? Okay, when they stopped, we had to they painted a fourth of the way top of the surrounding. We had to paint from the fourth way down to the floor, so we had to do that. We have to put in the pocket doors. We had to find the pocket door hardware. They stepped the way back in there. We had to we have to do the plumbing for the faucets, the sinks, the counters of the vanity. We said we would buy all the
stuff that we could buy so it would cut down on our costs. Okay, so what's left now is stairs redoing this, you know, putting something on the stairs and curtains and you know, all that kind of stuff. But we're waiting for someone to drill holes, a family friend to come droe holes for our sinks. Okay, now I'm gonna I'm going to have somebody. What do you want from them right now? I want them to pay for the water heater and get it correct so that we don't have poisoning that
they could have poisoned us with. What do you mean poisoning? What does that mean? What's the poisoning? Joe? I have no idea. What you it's a gas water heater? Oh okay, okay, so where's that? Where's the water heater right now in the basement, and Bell Plumbing took it apart because he thought it would have killed us and the animal. So you have no hot water right now, no for two months now, and you want quality builders to come and fix it. Yes, And she said
that they that it passed rough inspection. They did not even pull a permit that I think, well, what does Bell say needs to be listen? What does Bell say? What do they say needs to be done to it? Get a lawyer? But no, no, I'm asking how can if you asked Belle to fix it, what would they do five thousand, seven hundred dollars worth of work? What would they do heat? I need listen, I why do you need a new water heater because this one's ruined?
Why is it ruined? I'm going to go all over this again until I get in out. Why is it run work? What it won't work? Why will it not work? It won't light? Why will it not light? I don't know. Belle Plumbing says it's illegal what they did. I'm not going to listen to help. I need I need one of our experts. I need somebody to look at it. I'm telling you I have no
idea. Does it all come down to the water heater right now? Yes, the water heater, we have no hot water, and are the furnace they put in also and their pipes that they put to it are leaking? How did you find Quality Builders not on referral list dot com? How did you find them on that Angie's List type? Did you call Angie's List for help? Yeah? What did they say? Three? Oh? No,
we just got three estimates and there's was the cheapest. Ah. So you call Angie's List, you get three estimates, you go with the cheapest. Now you're having major problems and you call me for help, but you didn't go to my referral list first. I don't understand you know, listen, I'm not trying to be so serving here, but Gwen, did you call Angie's List for help? Since they're the ones that offered those contracts to you? Did you call them for help? No? Try them and let me
know what they tell you. You call Angie's List and tell them that this place is screwing you quality Builders. I don't know what Quality Builders did, But you call us back after you call Angie's List, say I used someone from Angie's list, and they're screwing me. They ruined my water heater. Then what I'd like to do is have an expert go out and see what's wrong with the water heater and why I need to take this one step at a time. But it seems to me that you went to Angie's list see
if they can help you. Let me know what they tell you. Three oh three seven one three talks seven one three eight two five five. Go with a sure thing Denver's Best roofer Excel Roofing dot com. Remax Alliance three oh three nine two zero sixteen twenty two. Hi Tom Martino, your troubleshooter three O three seven one three talk seven one three eight two five five Warren, what's going on? Hey? How you doing? Thanks for taking my call? What's happening with the car wash? So I went to the car wash. It didn't break my antenna. It tried to rip it off, ban my fender? Uh and skip pay? Wait wait wait, bet your fender. What kind of car is this? It's a F
one fifty pickup chuck and F one fifty. And this is an antenna that because a lot of cars don't have antennas anymore. Is this an older one? Yeah, it's an O seven Okay, so okay, and what happened? It tried to rip it out? Did it get caught on a brush? Yeah, I got caught on a brush, tried to bend it, bent the front fender, chip the paint. So they did a little report, send it up the ladder, and all they kept saying was, well, we have a disclosure. We have a disclosure where you should take your
antenna off. The problem is the twenty cars that we're going through while I was doing the report, no one was taking their intent off. So they did the report. Well, I know, I understand, I understand what you're saying. I'm not sure though, I'm not sure they're going to be responsible for this because do they have a sign? Do they actually have a sign that tells you to take off your antenna? They do, damn it. That's gonna make it go ahead, keep everyone in the world from ever
getting sued. If they just said, well we have a sign, no, that's not true. It has to be reasonable, meaning this. If they said we take no responsibility whatsoever and they have a brush fall down and grab your antenna, that's different. We're talking about a normal operation. If during the normal course of things that grabbed your antenna, they're going to say, we foresaw this happening, and therefore we put up a disclaimer. We can discuss it if you want, but I can tell you for sure that
it's not the same as just disclaiming everything. If they can show this has happened before, go with a sure thing Denver's Best roofer Excel Roofing dot com. Yeah, ripped of bad news, you need advice? Who you don't have a came running just as fast as we can. Show Shooter's gonna help. Come man, this is the Troubleshooter Show. Now Tom Martino, Hi, Tom Martino here, Welcome to the show. Three oh three seven one three talks seven one three
eight two five five. You know Brook White from redrocksars dot Com has has shown me something that just blew my mind, and we're gonna go over it. But I'm telling you, if I told you you could get a solar system that would offset nearly three hundred thousand dollars in your utility bill, that
would be a good reason to get one. But what if I told you, not only can you get a solar system to offset nearly three hundred thousand dollars in utility bills, but on top of it, what if you could get that system at zero charged you out of pocket, and at the end of the year you experience a positive cash flow on it because of electricity you're selling. All of this sounds like it's crazy, but it is absolutely positively true, and we will go over it step by step. Coming up,
this is something you need to hear you need to hear it. Now, let's talk back to Warren. Warren. I understand why Warren's upset because disclaimers, by the way, are disclaimers that sometimes are ridiculous. I often give the example. I often give the example of in the horse riding business, we have an equine law in this state, but there are some states that don't have an equine law. In this state, you can't sue for equine
activities. But let's say another state where you can. They put up a sign that says not responsible for injury or death or not respond whatever, and then you sign it and the guy punches you in the face. Well, obviously, obviously that disclaimer would not hold up. Why because they're limited. Now, if a car wash put up a sign that says we're not responsible
for any vehicle damage, what's however, it would never hold up. Ever, But if they know that certain cars have problems with antennas, or certain cars have problems with certain things, and they warn you about them and say remove them or don't go through there or whatever, it could hold up. In Warren's case, he had an old f one point fifty and the antenna got caught on the brush and it tried to rip it out in a bent defender where the antenna is mounted, and it chipped his paint. He wants
to know, can I get damages? They say no, because there is a sign that says remove it. Is that it in a nutshell worn? Okay, okay, So here's the bottom line. I don't think you're gonna win it, Warren. But Warren said, but can't they just put up a sign and not pay for anything. No, they can't. It has
to be in the law reasonable. Okay. For example, if they say remove the antenna and you didn't, but the antenna is ripped off by an employee or hit by something that's not supposed to be there, it's not your normal operation. You could make the argument the disclaimer was for normal function. So Dick has a comment, by the way, in this car wash issue. Go ahead, Dick, Dick, I know, I don't know if you're trying to talk. I can't hear you. Go ahead. Is something
wrong with his phone? Yeah, Dick, we're not hearing you unless you're tweeting. But see if you can re establish that. I see what he wanted to say. But that's the case. Three oh three seven to one three talk seven one three eight two five five. I'm going to go now to Brook red Rock Roofinsolar redrocksars dot com. She's going to give us a real example of a commercial system she recently did. Brook. What makes it possible to get one percent of your system paid for plus have positive not only
wait, more than one percent of your system paid plus make money? How can that possibly be true? Okay, go ahead, tell me how that's true. Sure, absolutely. So. The first thing is is you'd have to qualify for the REP grant program, so there's different What does what is REAP and when does reap uh stop end? You've got about three weeks left to put an application through, folks. Do most solar people know how to
do a REAP? No, because you have to have a grant writer that knows how to write it, So most folks don't know most solar cost What is the actual deadline for REAP? Yeah, so June thirtieth is the last time that they accept any applications. It usually to about four to six weeks for the grant writer to send in the application, and then obviously it takes about a month for us to build the application for it to get to the grant writer. So the rep grant ends June thirtieth, and it has to
be written in a special way. Absolutely, you have to have a grant writer that does it. Are you sure? You can't you? There's just not an application. There is an application that you could do yourself, but the likelihood of success is probably like and what does the grant writer do? What is the grant writer asking for? What is the purpose of this grant? Leap? People? You need to listen to this because this could do you have a writer that you use, Yeah, absolutely, we do.
Her name is Margie. She's been writing different solar grants for the last twenty five years. Have you been turned down on any of them? No? Because because Margie's done it before, so she knows what. Okay, So this is a request for the REAP grant. What is a REAP? What does REAP stand for? It's a Rural Energy Americats tied to the farm bill, so it's designed for ag projects and commercial projects in rural areas to receive fifty percent of their project. So it's Rural Energy America projects. Yep.
Absolutely, And I can give you the website link if you want to. So the last application is due June thirtieth, but they sub Colorado has eight million dollars every quarter to distribute to this grant, and the last distribution is going to be the last quarter of twenty twenty three or twenty three, be four. I apologize, this program's not getting extended. So you've got three weeks left to get fifty percent of your project paid for as a grant rebate,
meaning once your project passes final inspection. So the last quarter is this year yep. So the applications are due in June and then they'll continue doing funding for all four quarters in twenty twenty four and then it'll be done. Okay. And what does the REP grant do. It pays for fifty percent of your project period yep. Why why don't more people know about this because typically, and it has to be commercial, it has to be either tied
to an AG project or small business of some sort. What kind of small business have to your rural Nope, as long as the it's in an eligibility zone, which means that it can't be in an area of fifty thousand people or more. So fifty thousand people are less qualified for this. So almost anything out of the an eligibility zone or an AG project. Yes, is that this egg anywhere? Okay? Got it? All right? So then what so is as long as you meet that, then you get to,
hey, Brook, I got a question. If you can to get the grant for fifty percent of your project regardless of anything else, even if it goes over. In other words, that fifty percent on the on the example you showed me and Mark, I'll get right, so that they came out with money ahead. Yeah, absolutely, because the grant program it's just fifty percent of the project. So as long as you're asking the government for less than a million dollars, so two million dollar project still gets fifty percent,
Okay, okay. So that with the appreciation which is twenty three percent, the Buy American Act ten percent tax credit, as well as the federal tax credit, one hundred and thirteen percent of your project cost is paid for by the government incent which means you put money in your pocket. Yep. Absolutely, Why is the okay? Mark? You go, and then I'm going
to ask why is the government doing this? Market? Well, if you someone if someone had a duplex or triplex or quad plex and they rented it out that would be a small business if it was an LLC, though you could get it paid for right the apartment house. So the only exception to what you're asking for mark is long term rentals don't count. So so an airbnb would, an airbnb would, as long as you a hotel, one
hundred percent of hotel would. As long as you're paying occupancy tax or have a short term rental license, then you qualify what other businesses are just the long term rentals and anything that's not federally legal. So in Colorado, any marijuana businesses would not qualify for the grants. Now, in addition to that, you get the normal tax credits, and that's thirty percent. Thirty percent for the tax credit, since we have to comply with the Buy American Act.
For the grant anyways, you've receive an additional ten percent of your project from who from the government. Is that inn a tax credit too? Yep, it's an additional ten percent. We write a letter to the IRS and why is that? Because it's all American products exactly. And then you get
twenty three percent in depreciation between the state and federal depreciation levels. Wait, wait, you get that the first year you get to receive eighty percent of eighty five percent of the depreciation available, and then the next five years you get to take a piece of that. Hold on. Oh yeah, depreciation's
wild, but you get to write off a big chunk in depreciation. It totals up to twenty three percent of the projects, and you receive eighty percent of that in the first year, eighty percent of eighty five percent, you get eighty five percent over five years, and then the remaining of it over the next five years. Okay, so eighty five percent depreciation immediately, but you only get eighty percent of that the first year, eighty of the eighty
five percent. Yeah, and again, I'm not a tax professional. This is from folks that I've spoken with and the state that I worked with last week to make sure I had all of my information correct. And this project you did. Are you allowed to say who it is or not? I'm not sure if they're comfortable. You guys know one, but kind of business? What kind of business? It's a gas station and they're going to be
making money on this? Oh? Absolutely, okay, So in addition to the fourteen grand they put in their pocket just for doing it, what does it yield them. Oh wait, they're offsetting three two hundred something in money. Yeah, and they all see in real money. Yeah. And they also have tenants tied to this business. So what kind of tenants. They're different retail stores that are involved within the gas station itself. Did you put
all this together or did is this written somewhere all of these benefits. I had to put them all together. So most of the time when you're working with a solar person, they're just looking for that quick buck install. What I do is I actually work with all of the different incentives available to folks to get them as much money back as possible. So eighty five percent, depreciate eighty percent, you take the first year, the rest over five years,
and then where's what other money comes. Yeah. So in this specific case, he's going to qualify for the grant program, the REP grant, So the buy amer connect, the Federal tax credit depreciation, and the REP
grant all total up to one hundred and thirteen percent of this project. What can you do for people that it's residential Brooke, Yeah, for residential they would still receive forty percent of their product JCT paid for because they still call for for the federal tax credit as well as the Buy American Tax Credit and the Buy American tax credit. That's the UH for Buy American tax credit. Okay, yep. So what we do is we write a letter that you
found is that only for the solar systems buy American tax credit. In other words, do you know that? I mean, they don't give ten percent credits for anything else. It's just for solar, right, the extra ten Yeah, the extra tenant's tied to Solar Society. Yes, that's what I
mean. Okay, got it? Okay, So one hundred and thirteen percent is paid and then it but then then not only that mark, not only do they have a posit of fourteen rand going into the damn thing, but then they boss set two hundred and seventy something thousand in bills, and then their tenants are still going to pay retail value for the power that they're renting from them that the solar's producing. So on top of it, they're going
to make money from their tenants. Okay, and these are commercial tenants. Okay, hold on, and then what about what about the UH selling back to the grid. Did they make money there too? So with this it'll be tied as a net metering agreement, which means that they get dollar for dollar retail value on whatever they send to the grid. So how much could they send to the grid In this specific case, they can install a system one hundred and twenty percent of what their usage is, so about twenty percent
of this that they can sell back to the grid. How much will that be? You know? Did you do any estimates? Yes? I did? Can everyone put Can everyone put in a one hundred and twenty percent system? Everyone can put it in at least one hundred and twenty percent system or a limit to the system size. So for instance, Core says it's either one hundred or I'm so sorry, United, it's either one hundred and twenty percent offset or a twenty five kilowatt limit, whichever you reach first. So
it just depends on the utility that we're working with. As far as selling power back to them, you're usually so it at wholesale value, So you're not really going to make that much money. You're going to make about two
to four cents per kilo what hour. But if the government's paying you to install a solar anyways, everything, why is this one dollar for dollar dollar for dollar for the net metering aspect, So every utility company has twelve months to roll over what you send them because obviously in the summer you're going to produce more, right in the winter, your your system's not going to produce as much as you're using, right, right, So the summer months offset
that. But every twelve months they have to cash you out for anything you've sent them in access and that's in re that's in wholesale value. It could a business like this make one hundred grand. It depends on how much their tenants use and what the charges of what the tenants use are. But yeah, absolutely one hundred percent feasible. Okay, this can they make more? Do you know of any systems making more? Or do they? Can you
put in a solar farm or you're limited to that one. So so I'm working with a company that's out of a Denver here and their tenant uses most of their energy needs. So based on building a system for them, they don't even qualify for the grant project, but we're reducing their costs so much that they're going to profit about two to three hundred thousand a year because they
get to charge their tenants retail rates that they're already paying right now. They're not increasing right, but their energy costs is dropping to a third of what it was, so they're making two thirds of what the bill would be. Does that make sense? Yeah, Mark, do you have any We'll come back with it. This is like blowing my freaking well. She has completely changed the solar industry. We know a lot of people and it She's the only company, or the only person for that matter, that I know,
who knows how to put all the grants together, all the rebates. When's the last time you heard any other solar company talk about that additional ten percent made American on commercial or residential? Have you ever heard it before? Never? Well, what the hell? And she does all the paperwork. You don't have to worry about it. In fact, she was finishing up on that. What is that that by American? You ask, we're gonna come back and talk about that. I'm Tom Artino. Get your calls in.
Do you have a business? Do you want to actually have it paid for? We're not talking bs here. This is real stuff, not only paid for. You could put positively money in your pocket, even if you don't have tenants. It does pay to do it right, Yeah, absolutely, because it's being paid for three oh three seven one three eight two five five. Go with a sure thing Denver's best roofer Excel Roofing dot com. Hi Tom Martino, your troubleshooter three O three
seven one three talk seven one three eight two five five. So we've been talking about the most incredible advances in solar financing in my opinion, and I say solar financing, I mean, my god, what it is. It's made possible through a REAP grant which expires June thirtieth as far as applications go. But here's the point. Even without that REAP grant, thirty percent task credit, the extra ten percent for buying American, the eighty five percent depreciation
for businesses? Is that part of reaper? Do you get that anyway? For commercial? You get that anyway for commercial? Okay, Now for your home? Do you get that extra ten percent for buying American? Absolutely? I don't think there's one mark. I don't think one solar company has ever mentioned. I've never heard an advertisement besides Brook that's done it. The extra ten percent. Yeah, because most that's nearly happened. Let's just put it
what it is. They either don't know it exists, or they don't know how to do it. Well, they don't buy the right supplies to qualify for it. Right, that's very possible too. It has to be all American who put in that extra ten percent? Was that Biden's thing? I'm not sure it became available in twenty twenty three install So I just had a damn cool Yeah. I just had a client get it and receive it. So that's why I was comfortable to say, yes, we can now offer
this because I wanted to make sure it went through. Now let's just say there is Let's say they missed the fifty percent project cost limiting to a million dollars for the commercial system. Let's say they missed that but they still want to oversize a system to sell back to the grid. Does it always pay to oversize to sell back to the grid or not? No, it usually does not pay for that if they don't get the rep grant program. I
don't. It's not worth it. The only time it's worth it is if you envision a big energy increase, so eventually you will be using that power that you're like freemptively supplying. So oversizing just for oversizing to sell back is
not economically feasible without the reap. If you had enough battery backup, though, oversizing would be great, right if you could actually use that power to like charge your car, So you're you're going to get paid back at about one to four cents price per kil a lot when you over sell to the No. No, no. What I'm saying is if you had a big battery backup system that you could hold quite a bit of storage, and you oversize your system to keep those batteries full all the time. I mean that
does that make sense or no? I just don't know. No, it doesn't, because even when you're pulling power from the batteries or using your batteries however you need to it still goes underneath the net metering agreement, which means that at the end of twelve months, utility company is going to pay you whatever access you sent them. Wait right, Wait, there's something I've never
heard either. You're saying if you have batteries, you still enter into an agreement with whatever electric company you're with, saying that even if i'm it doesn't matter whatever you generate, even if you're storing it yourself, you're technically selling that back to them. So with batteries, it's a fun means what you're not using and part of your batteries would be considered you using it, right, So it's whatever gets sent to the grid, right, Yeah, that's
exactly right. So if you're charging your battery, it's not being sent to the grid. Well, your battery is automatically set to discharge to keep its life time, so usually it goes from like eighty percent to forty percent in its cycles and whatever. You're Oh, okay, so it is it is
as you're charging your batteries, your batteries are feeding the grid. Yeah, it'll discharge for whatever makes the most sense for your battery system, but it's still considered a net meter approach, So you know, and all, this is really confusing. I understand that. I first of all, I don't normally ask this because it's a it's a weird softball question for businesses. But I am interested. How did a young woman get involved in solar? Why? Why'd you do this? I mean, I'm curious. Yeah, absolutely
So. I was in the medical field before I started solar, okay, and I developed something called pot syndrome when I was pregnant with my first kiddo. Yeah, and so with that I could no longer stands because from sitting to standing you pass out. So obviously medicine wasn't going to work anymore. So after he was born, there's a lot going on, and I got into solar and I loved it ever since. I feel like I'm truly helpful. I was out of condition only while you were pregnant. Yeah, yep.
It's normal for folks that are of Eastern European heritage that are over five eleven. So luckily I'm in that category. So then, so then you went into solar, and then you could have gone back to medicine, but this was so cool you just stayed with it. Yeah, I loved it. And it allowed a lot of flexibility with having the kids. Now, does your husband work in it with you? No, we would be the worst working couple. Okay, Yeah, so he does. Okay, so
software guy. Okay. So as far as solar goes, how do you source American products for that extra ten percent? Is it hard? No, it's not that hard. You just have to know the right folks to talk to. Well, do most solar companies not use all American? Yeah? Most of them don't. I'd say ninety nine percent of them don't. I mean, how many have you ever heard of talk about the rec grant program or the Buy American Acts? Now? Is REAP only for buying an American?
Yep? Any grant programs have to comply with the BAA on a federal level. So like the City of Boulder grant, you don't have to follow BAA, but you do for any federal grants that you receive. Now, do you have a lot of grants in the pipeline before the June thirtieth deadline? Yeah? We do. How do you even get to somebody to talk about this? Because it sounds like a come on? No, it really does. It sounds like a come on I'm so fascinated by the short term
rental the airbnb. You own something, I don't care where it is, and that short term rental it doesn't have solar. You can get virtually a free solar system through this. It's crazy. M Yeah, it's wild. It definitely hits that category. One airbnb do it just one unit? I mean you'd have to have a standalone obviously, right, I mean, is that what you're talking about? Mark? Like a ski Shelly, Like you own a house up in winter Park and you airbnb it, I would qualify.
But if it was a long term rental, you don't get it or listen to this time. This part's crazy too, and I quitted her last time on this. If you had if you have another building, like I have a building on our property, if I wanted to convert that into a studio, for example, and buy it under my LLC or whatever I need to do, I could put solar on that out building for virtually free. And even though you've got a big shade issue, if the government's paying you
to do it, any anything is positive in that point. Right. You just need to make sure you have a commercial utility meter, and that's very easy to do, and I can walk you through that process at any time. All right, this sounds goofy, but qualify even if hold on Tom and where he is right now, he generally just uses that property to do the show. I mean, that's what he does. That's when he's almost
there, and that's it. If he converted where you're sitting right now into its own commercially by one of his radio LL Caesar or whatever, would that count? Could he put solar on that house virtually for free under this grant? If he turned it into a studio. He couldn't because it's in the Denver metro, it's not in a rural area. If he's this house and put it in Bailey and is it for business, then yeah, one hundred
percent. He would still get the sixty three percent of the normal commercial benefits, but he would not qualify for REAP because again, if it's a commercial small business, it has to be rural. Your AG projects can be anywhere. So I could do it, no problem, mount in Franktown or most of Douglas County. You're in a rural area, right, Yeah, absolutely, as long as it's in a separate building, you're using it for commercial purposes, and in your purpose, we would have to put a commercial meter
for that one part. Yeah, but it'd be really easy to do. I do that all the time, right, it's just crazy. How about someone that owns the strip mall Mark? Why wouldn't Mark? I'm serious, Why wouldn't you do that? Well? I don't know. But how about someone that owns the strip mall. So let's say I own a strip mall all like up where, I don't care where it is. The gart Brothers used to own a bunch of it has to be for a strip mall would have to be in a rural area too, right, Yeah, to qualify
for the grant, Well, that's fine. A strip mall in Douglas County, a strip mall anywhere, a strip mall in a monument. How about a strip mall anywhere? Who cares? As long as it's not Denver? Pretty much? Yeah, so Denver, Colorado springs for Collins. Right, So those bigger places definitely don't qualify, but just on the outskirts of them too. But like a strip mall in monument would most likely qualify, right,
yep, absolutely think about that time. Now, listen, would you have let's say you did that solar, and then you sold the power to your tenants. So not only were you getting your triple net each month, but now you're not paying a utility bill. You got your system for free, and you're charging your tenants the same amount they did for electricity. You're
simply adding more money each month in your own pocket. Yeah. The only thing in that aspect that would say cost you more would be whatever your building insurance is. Okay, let me let me just check with Freddie here, fred do I owe you a thirty? Okay? And uh Mark, that's my nickname for our or. That is probably the worst nickname I've ever heard. Fred I don't know why it turned out to Why why not? Eric? I thought it was DJ Jazzy, Jeff Tom. It's a nightmare on
Monaco's Street. So it's Freddie. Anyway, we got we got more coming right up. Go with a sure thing Denver's Best roofer Excel Roofing dot com. You don't pay a cent until you're content. three talk three oh three seven one three eight two five five. All right, So we've been talking about some extraordinary financing options grants, tax credits and depreciation for solar systems that virtually, now don't get me wrong, virtually pays more than more than one hundred percent of the cost of putting in solar, which means you pocket extra money after installing the solar system. One thing that should be clarified, though, is you pay for it upfront, then you
get the money back. So if you don't have the money upfront to do these systems, it's all given back you in a rebate, right Brook, Now that you actually don't need the money in your pocket, but you're right. It is a reimbursement, Brook, Yeah, one hundred percent. So
everything in solar is done as a reimbursement. So there's state has a lot of great programs for commercial people where they're offering twenty year terms at six percent interest, depending on if you qualify, And so that's what most of my commercial guys are going with. You're just doing a temporary loan and there's no
prepayment penalty, right, No, not at all. So the state actually sits down with the business owner to determine what incentives they want to put back into the loan, if they want to put any of those back, and that's a discussion between the business owner and the state. Oh wait a minute, So you could take all the rebates, put them in your bank account, and then pay the loan off if you wanted to over a twenty thirty year period. Yeah, I mean, where else can you get a twenty
year term at six percent interest right now as a business? Or or you pay the money all at once and just do away with the loan. Or if you have the cash, you don't even spend the six percent. Yeah, but think about this. Let's say you took out you took out a loan, and then you got all your money back and that money is making you twelve fourteen to fifteen percent and you're paying it back to the state of six percent. Hmm. Not impossible now, there is another grant you're not
going to believe. You're not going to believe this one where residential customers can get their system done one hundred percent, no cost out of pocket, not a dime. How is that possible? We're going to talk about that coming up. I got to take this break. I'm sorry, but I promise you there is a program. We've been talking about special deals for a financing grants, depreciation and tax credits and low interest loans for solar systems. The government really is going out of its way to encourage you. Now there's a special one I told you about where if you have a residential
system, you can get one hundred percent of the system covered. But it's very special circumstances, Brook, What are those circumstances? Yeah? Absolutely, So it's got to be a natural disaster that occurred. So this and it's only one county, it's only Boulder County. From what I understand, a natural disaster grant or what is it called natural what it's called the sustainability rebuilding program. Okay, it was updated due to the Marshalltown fires that occurred,
and so that was the incentive or the reason behind it. So most of the homes within that area or nearby, as long as it's a natural disaster can have a variety of things done, including solar systems, EV chargers, battery storage, high efficiency heat pumps, different electrical work can all get combined into the program for rebuilding your home and it's it's Boulder County only, but they cover one hundred percent of the cost. Yeah, I think what she
just said. It also sounds like it covers furnaces. Yeah, so it just depends on what specifically you would need in the project. But it does allow for a variety of different electrical upgrades as well as your heat pump. So this is Boulder County Special Grant Sustainability Rebuild Program twenty million to distribute. And I wonder how much how many people know about it? None. It's it's unbelievable the information she has. I urge you to give us a call,

Yeah, rip, bad news, de need advice? Who you don't have the come run in just as fast as we can show. Shoot's gonna come. Man. This is the Troubleshooter Show. No Tom Martine, Hi Tom Martino here, Welcome to the show. Three oh three seven one three talk three oh three seven one three eight two five five. Hey Tom. I got to give a shout out to uh, Simply Floors. Oh
Sayoorsinc. Dot com? What did you do well? My son had his basement flooded and he needed someone to lay down the carpet, and he called I told him to call Simply Floors, and he said they did an incredible job. So I just want to give him a shout out, good good, good Simplyfloorsinc. Dot Com. And by the way, we're talking about solar today and how to get a finance and all that. And I should mention that eight eight eight Heating dot com specializes in high efficiency heat pumps.
That go with solar systems as well as other high efficiency systems too eight eight eight heating, heating and air. So Brooke White is with us from red Rocks Roofinsolar, which is redrocksars dot com, and she was talking about various programs available that in essence, pay for all of your solar systems with increased appreciation grants, tax credits, special assistance grants. I mean, there are some incredible government programs. I didn't realize the government is so aggressive in paying
for solar systems. But if you have a commercial system in a rural area, you can damn near get it all paid for up till June thirtieth, even make money, put money in your pocket for installing it. And then after June thirtieth, after the application process is over, you can still get up to what sixty five percent of it does sixty three percent or something? Did you say, Brooke, Yeah, absolutely, sixty three percent. It
isn't tied to that grant program. Three percent goes to commercial businesses, forty percent to residential All right, this is a really good situation for solar if you have any specific questions, and regular residential solar systems are still a good deal as well, because you can get that extra ten percent tax credit to make it a full forty percent if you deal with a company that uses by all American products. Right, yep, absolutely, And that's something we never
hear about. We only hear about the thirty percent tax credit. So Red Rocks can do forty percent tax credits. Patty, what's going on with you? Hello? Patty, welcome to the show. What's going on? Hi? How are you? That's what's happening with you? Crack down? I know, crazy story. Okay. There's a cobbler. It's called Cobbler's Plus. It was out of Denver, Colorado that was up and running for years and years and years. The father must have passed away a year ago and
his son, Alan Trush Cops had taken over the father's business. I had Loubaton heels that I needed protective bottoms put on, and like I said, I've used them in the past. His father was amazing. I shipped the shoes out one How did you know about cobblers Plus? So I had been for a couple of years trying to find a really good cobbler for a more expensive shoe, and when I came across them a couple of years ago. It had amazing ratings and his dad was fantastic. The quick turnaround time was
under two weeks. You would just purchase what you needed online, ship the shoes out. And we'll give me an example. Does he do like is he a regular cobbler or what we used to call shoemaker that would do everything like souls, heels, Ye, whatever you needed exactly. Yep, that's exactly what it is. He even does I think like jackets and purses and zippers and things like that as well. I've never used them for that, but just basically for and your your experience was you took some you you sent
them some expensive shoes. Yes, they were about a thousand dollars. Whoa I know, And that's why I was getting the protective bottoms I tried to do. You know how many pairs as sketchers you can buy for a thousand dollars? Probably a thousand? No, No, what's to day? Whose shoes are they yours? Okay, they're mine? They were lou Batons, Louisaton, Okay, got it, well, not Louis Vauton. So there's Christian Lubaton, Loubaton so there's Oh, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I
didn't know this. I know there's like two names that are very similar. But yes, they're lou Batons, which I love. But unfortunately, so when I shipped them out, it was about a month later, and I thought it was really weird because they're turnaround was about two weeks. Never heard anything. I went to email him and the email kicked back. I went to call the numbers. How much these shoes. These shoes were a thousand
bucks. They were purchased for a thousand They were given to me. Backstory, I was diagnosed with breast cancer and they were given to me as my kicking cancers. I don't know if I can say it on the radio. If shoes they had these really cool gold studs all over the shoes and they were a gift from my family. That is so nice. So they they're very sentimental. So you sent them very sentimental, and now and now you don't know where they are yep, And so when did you send them?
When did you send them? February February fourteenth, I sent them out. He took his website down about two weeks ago when he realized that every everyone was going on his Facebook page and sort of figuring out, like, Hey, where is this guy? Where is Alan? What's happening to our shoes there? Now the father's name was Alan, Now that the father's name was Nikolai. For Nikolay, I was now dealing with Alan. Who was the son? Alan E? Trush cough. He's in his thirties, and I,
it's funny. I started trying. We all did on Facebook. We were trying to share information that we were looking up and finding. I had gotten a hold of his mom a week ago and she answered she has a very sick accent, and she kept saying my husband, my son took over because my husband died a year ago. He has everybody's items in a storage
unit. He's having money issues. And what's the son's first name? So the son's name is Alan A L. L E N. Have you have you heard uh since you talk to the mom when this was about a week ago. So is Alan making any attempt to return these shoes? You say he's on you said he's on Facebook. He's on Facebook under what it's under the cobblers plus it's a store front. But he's also so he's taken down the website because we contacted, but he's still on Facebook. You know what,
I don't I think he has a Facebook or an Instagram. I'm not on Instagram. And I think someone else mentioned he don't know, but he doesn't answer. It's crazy to me that he and when I say, dozens of people, if you went on his Facebook page, you would see all these people saying he's had my stuff for months. He won't respond. We don't know how to get a hold of them, and some like I said, mine are expensive, but it's more sentimental to me to get them back.
I at this point, we're all sort of out of loss. We did get a hold of the Better Business Bureau. We all did that. We're trying to put it out there so it raises red flags. We were also told to report it to Attorney General of Colorado, which we have done, but it's hard to reach him because of him shutting everything down. And then there was well he probably is. He's probably overwhelmed. I mean, yeah, I don't know, is exactly there is the location closed? YEP,
locations closed. Someone that lived out there that sent like three thousand dollars worth of her shoes she drove by because she couldn't get an answer, and there were people outside painting this door. I'm on the website right now, and let's see the last post. Not the website. I'm on the December twenty twenty three were their last posts. Then you have people talking about going to the district to turn and all of that. Yep, everyone's trying to
get their items back. It's really I don't you know. My gut is that this kid isn't a thief, but it says, you know, do not send these thieves money or shoes. I think that he's probably just overwhelmed. I dole. Then why doesn't he send the shoes back? Hey? Tom, what I'm saying you have a sheriff. They've been in business for years and years his dad. Yeah, can you have a sheriff go to where he lives and have him make him take him to the swords unit so
these people can get this stuff back? Well, how do you know, I mean, how do you know where the storage unit? Because it's well, if if the sheriff confronts him, can the sheriff make he might have sold all these shoes on eBay? Yep, that's what my husband was saying too. I don't think, you know what, I don't get that feeling. I get the feeling that the kid is a dupe. He doesn't know what he's doing. Do you have a phone number for the mom? Oh?
Maybe for the mom. I just tried calling his How did you get his number? Just looking at different Yeah, that's what we have. We have all different Yeah, we have the same thing. And I actually have a phone number for a woman named Cassandra Davis that we believe is his wife, and she will just send it straight to voicemail or so let it just ring enough to go to voicemail, so we know it's an active number. But she doesn't answer. But a lot of people are tossed and shade his
way. I'll tell you that they don't like him at all. Yeah, no, they there's all kinds of he's being sued from the step mom. We found all kinds of stuff online. The mother. Well, you mean, so the woman we talked to is his step mom. I think it's the mother, his actual mother. But the I think the father is getting sued. Oh no, this is getting sued by a some type of insurance
agency. When you look up his name, he has he's being sued by this woman who was an insurance agent, and she's saying she got screwed over somehow through contract. They're getting in. They're getting a bunch of people, it says. It says that they And by the way, the Attorney General responded to these posts saying to file a complaint with them, right we did,
Yeah, yeah, we did, I know. I mean, this is and it's actually we asked Denver police to reach him because there's an address for him, and they told us that because it was a business matter, it has to go through like a civil suit. That's so crazy, they say that. So you send your TV into him to get it repaired and he keeps your TV. That's not a criminal matter for some reason. Well remember hold on, now, let's let's hold on. They sent him into
the dad who died. They didn't send him into the sun, right, So this is you know, the father was gone. There was no you know, mentioning of it that the father had cast. And what's even more bizarre, when I went to send the shoes, he responded, of course right away, to say send it to this address on something about a temporary location. So we sent it to the address and Aurora, which was not the store address, and when someone investigated that, they found out it was
a PO box at a UPS store in Aurora. Have you gotten in touch with any of these other victims? Yes, I'm talking. I have a couple that I've talked to pretty frequently on Facebook that we're all just trying to help, you know, help each other out. Like we're not really sure at this point what to do, but we do. We we do keep in touch and if we find out something new, can they hire a PI
to find his ad find out where he is and serve him. I was wondering if we I mean, I just don't understand why this guy, if he has issues, wouldn't just make arrangements to return him because he might have sold him on eBay. Mark, I think it would be more trouble to sell them on eBay as it would to give him back. Except what about if he makes money on eBay? Yeah? But okay, do you really think that that's the whole deal? Maybe? Who knows? I mean,
well, then why would he just ghost everybody? Now you do? Okay? We have to hold on. What we need to do is get as many numbers as we can and put somebody on this to start tracking him down, and sus do we still have a PI that will do this? I can check Tom, but I think this is going to be Patty. Let's get as much information as possible, and Deputy Doc just start making phone calls. I just watch that Patty is his mother, his actual mother? What
language does she speak? Do you know it sounded I want to say Russian to me. She had a very very strong accent, very very kind, almost like she didn't know what to do. She's like, you know what if we got someone to translate for her, you think we can ask her where he lives? Would she tell us? You know, we asked for his phone number and she said he changes his number a lot. Get your number? What about his ad bess? Did you ask her for that?
I do well the address I found online, which I don't know if he is still there. This is the address I pulled online. It is don't do it on the air yet. I don't want to get I don't want to get people like riled against this guy yet until we know what's going on, hold on and we'll come right back to more. I want, Doc, I want you to talk to Patty. Off there. Get as many numbers as you can. Let's just see where it goes and then sues. Maybe we can try to find one of our pis that can try to uh

Hi Tom Martino here three oh three seven one three talk all right, Taylor's got a question about bankruptcy. Taylor, Welcome to
the show. What's going on? Taylor? Hey Tom, I'm a small owner operator of multi service company drywall Painting. We also do cleanings for moveouts. We've been doing this for about four years, and we've been waiting on paycheck since October and I don't know any other options or legal options. Wait a minute, what did some did somebody go bankrupt? We're facing bankruptcy right now. Oh you are? So you're waiting? Who are you waiting on
payment from Cardinal amc asset? These property management companies that own apartment complexes that we've been working for? Okay, and you can't. So we have two issues. One, what do you do about yourself right now? Are you is this a sole proprietorship or a corporation or what an LLC? So the companies are the people coming after you? Did you take personal responsibility on the debt or are they doing business only with the LLC? Only the LLC?
Are you positive? Like, give me an example of a big bill that's weighing on you. Well, we're owed like twenty thousand dollars for turning units, patch and repair paint flooring. No, I don't. I think you misunderstood what I said. What I said was this the money you owe? You're talking about a bankruptcy. You don't go bankrupt for people owing you money. You go bankrupt for you owing money. So who do you owe money to that you're concerned about that will come after you? Well, my employees.
I'm just trying to get my employees paid. Well, bankruptcy won't curials. Okay, Okay, bankruptcy is not going to get you out of employee debt. So it'll get you out of a big chunk of it. What are you talking about, Mark, He can't get you out of the trust fund? No, there's there's companies that go bankrupt all the time time that can't meet payroll. The IRS will come after him for the IRs' share, but that has nothing to do with the employees. The employees get first priority
in a bankruptcy period. So what I'm saying is is that it's not going to be discharged. Okay, he might do a bankruptcy and if he has no money, they can't make him get money. You're right, but they do take priority. Taylor. I'm asking what your goal is. There's two things you're calling about. One is collection and one is one is collection that you want to collect from these companies. We might be able to help you get someone to help you do that. The other one is getting out of
you know, getting the creditors off your back. So which one are you calling about right now? Right now? Collections? Meaning you want to collect from others? That is correct. I have than tens of thousands of dollars still out. Okay, do you have? Are these debts? This is really important. Are these debts that others will will they dispute them at all? No? No? So why aren't they paying you? That's a pretty obvious question. Why aren't they paying you? I have no idea. This
happens sometimes with AMC. We've we've waited longer. We're a net thirty coupanies. Did you get that, Freddy? Okay, did you get the delay? Yeah? We're good. Okay, he said a bad word, Taylor, Taylor. We can help you, but you got it. You can't say those words. And I can bring you back when the delay is up. But here's the deal. Leans do a lot of good if you know
how to execute them properly. But it's too late now. Anyway, you need to get a hold especially if you're if you're if you're owed thousands and thousands of dollars, you need to get a good collection attorney. And we're going to refer you to one. Okay. Meanwhile, these collection. I mean, I can't believe that all of these manage would companies, all of them have stiffed you. So let's bring them back up real quick here, Taylor. Why do you think they've stiffed you? Why? What do you
think's going on? Initially I thought because it was winter time and there weren't a lot of move outs, so they were just, you know, kind of saving their money or something. Somebody else, another small business provider, said that they keep large sums of money in an account so they can crew interest on it through the bank and you know, get more money that way or something. Things that I just don't quite understand. When was the last
time you were how many different companies owe you money? Three and okay, three companies, and they totaled how much, oh, at least at least at least eighty thousand dollars right now. But the thing is they'll pay the small they're paying their small cleaning fees, like I just got a check for one hundred and twenty dollars for the cleaning fees that we did the last two
weeks. But they're not paying the larger ones. Where we turn the units, we paint, the units, we do the drywall repair that are already been done, and they're they're not paying those larger invoices they pay the No, I get it, are they? But you don't think they would deny those invoices if a collection attorney came after them. I do not think so, especially because we have good relations with the property managers here locally that we
talk to, we see them face to pace. They always tell us it's in processing, and it's it's in processing, and then they refer us to their they're headquarters that are in like Texas or Arizona or someone like that, and then they just give us the run around and send us the emails to empty accounts, you know, deleted accounts and things like that, and then they stop answering our phone calls. Yeah, these are these are ploys that
these guys are screwing with you. That's why you need you know who I'm thinking, guys, I want to refer you to a really good collection attorney, especially if we're talking eighty grand. That's substantial. No, I know, And that's why I must have we must have missunderstood of each other initially when she said the bankruptcy thing, But that's kind of what we're facing I can't pay my truck, I can't pay no. I get it, I get it. But right now, you don't want to go bankrupt right now.
What you want to do is you want to go after these people tooth and nail. I have a feeling once you hire this collection attorney, I have in mind, they're going to roll over. I'm serious. Now, you can hire in a number of ways. You can do it on contingency, or you can do it by the hour. I mean I would have him first, just contact and write a letter and threaten him. When they look this guy up, they're gonna know they have to pay. I really
believe it. He has a reputation in the industry. So hold on and we'll make a referra. We'll make a referral. Okay, Okay, think I really think you need this guy. Frank Ball is his name. The reason I don't talk about it a lot on the air seat. He's really not a consumer's attorney. Hi Tom Martino here, Welcome to the show. Three O three seven one
three talk. We have redrocksars dot Com with this Redrocks solar. We've been talking about a lot of cool stuff there. But right now Frank's got a question about breaking a lease. Then we'll go back to red Rocks. Uh, Frank, what's happening? Hello? Tom? Hey, what's going on? Man? So I have a I have a quick question for you. My son's girlfriends he lives, I mean, she lives with two other girls
in an apartment building Dayle's a bedroom apartment. And the problem they have is she's been bullied by the two other roommates and so what she did is she just moved out of the apartment. And are they all three on the lease. Yes. Yeah, the three of them are on the lease. They're all on the least all on the lease. They all got a little bit, you know, to pay the lease together. Now, is there any way that she can get out of the leaves because the other two roommates are
being bullying her? Only only if everyone agrees, including the landlord. Okay, Now, hold on, there's a few. There's a few. I shouldn't just say that that I but let me just say this. Most of the time, when three go on a lease, all three are responsible for the entire lease, each one of them. They don't divide Landlords don't usually divide it into third third third obligations, okay, Which means if she wants to get out of it, she's going to have to get the permission of
the other two and of the landlord. They may say, no, you don't get to get out because you owe a third of the money, And the landlord might say I want three guaranteurs, not two. So it's going to be difficult. The short answer is no, she can't just easily get out of it. It's not easily. I mean, she's not living there, she's been paying her her portion of the leaf. That's very nice that
she's still paying and legally she's responsible. No, the reason why she moved there is I don't know of any laws that say if you have a good reason to leave, you can leave and you don't have to pay me. I mean, she wants to leave in the apartment, but the other two are making her life difficulties. But you do understand that's a whole separate issue from the lease. That has nothing to do with the lease. Now, in other word, to get a restraining order, I believe that is one
thing you can break a lease with in Colorado. But Mark, if she gets a first of all, it has to do with domestic violence, and she would have to claim that she's there and she wants the other guy out, and then they couldn't foreclose or they couldn't a victor for that. This is a whole different ballgame. She would have to move in, do a restraining order and get the other two girls out. But then if she forces the other two girls out, those other two girls could say, we're not
paying. She told us we can't come there anymore. I mean, this would be a big mess. So, Frank, restraining order is not the answer. The answer is legally getting out of this, and that's not gonna happen. Is is she let me ask you something? Is she going to talk to them? Ever? Do they talk? Can you help? Can somebody help? Can? I mean they should? These other two girls may not want to pay the whole bill. Oh no, they don't. They don't want to. Now what your daughter, what I mean, what your
friend can do is stop paying her share totally. Then here's the deal. Here's I want to tell you something. The landlord will not come after just her. The landlord can come after anyone. If she just stops paying her third. Those other two girls would have to come after your daughter. It's like it would be harder on them than it would be on her. I don't do they have Here's the thing. If they don't have a separate agreement with this girl, those other two girls have to use that lease and go
after her, claiming to be third beneficiaries of that contract. It would be so complicated for them it would not be worth it for them. So here's what would happen those other two girls if your if your friend did not keep paying her share, those other two girls would have to get another roommate, and it would take care of itself, or they would have to leave. If they leave, then the landlord would have to come after all three of them. Thinks, I mean, there is no clean way out of it
unless everyone agrees. Yeah, I mean there are leaves. Is only like four months more, you know, there's not going to be another year or so. So what if she stopped paying her share? What would happen? I mean, she's been paying six hundred dollars every month and she doesn't even live in the apartment. I'm asking you what would happen if she stopped paying. I think that the apartment building will will go after her, right, No, they won't. The apartment building won't go after one of them.
The apartment building will go after all of them. Do you think the landlord's gonna say home? The reason you two can't pay your rent is because they're not gonna accept the two the rent from the other two and then say, okay, we'll collect from that other girl. They're not gonna do it. They're going to evict them. And then when they evict them, they're gonna the landlord's gonna come after all three, okay, and the two girls cannot sue her or go after her, Yes, they can't. They and then
she can go after them too. She can say she was forced to leave. Look at it's a stupid mess. That's why young people shouldn't room together without strict written agreements. They shouldn't. It's it's a it's a disaster. But at this point, at this point, you know she's not going to get out easily. Do you think those two but do they want to stay in the apartment after this lease? Yes? I think so. Do you think they would look for another roommate to take her place? Yeah? Probably,
I don't know. I don't know exactly the answer to that. Well, somebody's going to have to start talking, because without talking, then you just go to the end of the lease. Okay, all right, Okay, that that that's going to be the best way to do it. I don't know what else. I really don't know what else to do, because it's a it's a freaking mess, and it usually is when you have young people living together like that. We have more coming up. Go with a
