That whole room is lit up now, Oh god, oh yes, oh yes, Oh my gosh, you guys, okay, oh my gosh, you guys. Do you know when it just comes to you all
of a sudden. Oh, that's a great, feeling pretty excited, but my brain is actually working. Joe really wishes he Joe really wishes he had that same feeling. Right, I know I had it for the first one. I had that. The second one, I don't know, So I know again again an edgemacated one. Yes, that's good, so again question number two. Who played Wednesday Adams and who played Uncle Fester in the nineteen ninety one film The Adams Family? That was question number two. Question number
three is your theater question. Tom Stoppard wrote, what play that centers on the exploits of two minor characters from Shakespeare's Hamlet? Very funny play. They turned it into a film I think in the nineties or two thousands. Tom Stoppard wrote, what play that centers on the exploits of two minor characters from Shakespeare's Hamlet? For question number three? All right, Question number four a music question that you both have. I know this for a fact you're going
to get it. I'm not hyping this up. You got this one. Oh that's a lot of pressure. I love music. Speaking of which, who was the lead singer for the Miami Sound Machine? For question number four? Oh? Yeah, I got that. I grew up in South Florida. Right, You got some Florida people here and fantastic. You guys are the the unicorns, the two awesome people from Florida. think I am there. I think that's the key. You gotta be born there. If you escape to Florida is when you are in one of those stories where it's like Florida, Yeah, halfway home. In the general knowledge round of you should know better, here we are question number five, What company's mermaid logo is actually a siren? sports question sports and business. Oh okay, yay. Name the baseball general manager that helped end the insanely long championship droughts for both the Boston Red Sox and Chicago Cubs. Name that general manager. He was the general manager of both the Red Sox and Cubs when they ended their eighty some year drought. For the Red Sox and the over one hundred year drought for the Chicago Cubs. Same guy, same general manager. I had a pretty good edumacated guess
I should know this period, but we'll see. Yeah, last name will Suffice. Even if you gave me his first name, I'd probably give it to you. Oh. Interesting, interesting, hint it is. It's a weird sports question. We like it like a weird first name. Perhaps, Yeah, sports sports nerds will know this, so this is a tough question, all right, all right? Question number seven is kind of a question
about the human body. We all have one. Name the fibrous sclarow protein that is the key structural material that makes up our hair and fingernails and toenails. Got it? Name the fibrous sclarow protein that is the key structural material that makes up our hair as well as our finger and toenails. Name that protein? All right? I like question number eight. Question number eight, name the youngest woman egot recipient who this year has her own daytime talk show.
She started out. Uh, she is the youngest woman to have an egot, which is an Emmy, a Grammy, an oscar, and a Tony. Not many people have an egot or have even been nominated for egot stuff. So she's an August Woman EGOT recipient who this year has or started her own daytime talk show. Her number eight. Before we get to our answers, let's meet our incredible guests. They are a married couple. You
guys have been married for how long? We've been married since twenty fourteen, but we've been together for almost twenty We've been together for almost nineteen years. Whole leak right, our relationship can vote. That is that's right? Ah, that is wonderful. Two great friends. Let me introduce you to them. Air Force Bratt born in Chicago. This is great and you guys are will be fun for me. You guys are playing for the same charity, So tell me a little bit about the charity and why you
guys chose it. Yeah, we're playing for a charity called Life Wire, and Life Wire is an organization that supports survivors of domestic violence and they offer paths of safe housing, and they promote prevention through like training and coaching, and they helped create environments where survivors can thrive. So it's a it's a great group. And you know, I was drawn to the organization because some of the some of the subject matter and material in the horror movie revolve around
domestic violence. The movie is not about that, but there are some issues in there, and so I wanted to I wanted to give back a little bit and learn a little bit about more this this this topic man fantastic. Well win or lose. We are happy to make a donation in both your names to this Life Wire charity. Can't wait. You can follow missus Beth Dover at Beth Dover one on Twitter and on Instagram. Question number one, the US Air Force Academy is located in what US state? Will start with, Beth?
What did you put for number one? Originally I thought it was Maryland, but I think that's the Naval Academy, So then I said Colorado, Colorado? Great guess, Joe, what did you put for number one? I've stuck with Marylandland Maryland? Should I not have switched? Annapolis? Is? The Naval Academy is in Annapolis, Maryland? And US Air Force Academy is just outside Colorado Springs, Colorado. Circle gets the square, Beth. I would hope that Beth got that her stepdad is in the Air Force. Well,
that is true Air Force. I teed it up. I teed it up for you. Don't ye go all right? Question number two a movie question an actor question? Who played Wednesday Adams and who played Uncle Fester in the nineteen ninety one film The Adams Family. I was hoping to get both actors to get the point. Joe, what did you put for number two? I have Christina Ricci as Wednesday Adams, and I have Christopher Lloyd as Uncle Fester. Great guess is Beth? Do you you're nodding your head in
agreement? Do you Christina? Yes? I have Christina Ricci and Christopher Lloyd. Yes. The correct answer is Christina Ricci and Christopher Lloyd. You got it right, right? Beth off to a hot start. Joe is off the schneid. Here we go. Question number three. Tom Stoppard wrote, what play that centers on the exploits of two minor characters from Shakespeare's Hamlet Beth? What did you get for number three? I said, rosen Krantz and
Guildenstern are dead. Rosen Krantz and Guildenstern are dead. Joe, what did you put for number three? I had the same answer, rosen Krantz and Guildenstern. I did it is in fact, rosen Krantz and Guildenstern are What character did you play in that play? Beth? I played Guildenstern in the all female production of rosen Krantz and Guildenstern. Of course you did. Awesome. Where was that at? That was at the University of Florida, which is where I went to school. Go Gators, Gainesville. Yep, it
was in Gainesville, Florida. Yep. Awesome. That's so great. Question number four, who was the lead singer? Come on, Baby, do the conga for the Miami Sound Machine? Joe, Gloria, Stephon Baby Gloria is Stefan beft Over? What did you put? I also put Gloria Astefan. Ya. It is Gloria a Stefan for number four. See you guys are doing well. Question number five? Interesting question? What company's mermaid logo is actually a siren? Beth? Well, did you venture a guest for
number five? Okay, my guess is Chicken of the Sea, which is probably wrong, but talking of the sea, that is a great that's a great guest for using your noggin. Joe, what did you put? I went with Starbucks. One of you is incorrect, one of you is correct. The correct answer is Starbucks. Starbucks Mermaid on your cop is actually a siren. I did not know that until I looked it up a little bit so it is. Now we know that that that woman. I don't even
remember a siren or a mermaid on my Starbucks cup. I don't. I don't visually see that. Now every time you go, you're be like, God, bless it. There she is, She's everywhere. Gosh, it's so ridiculous. All right. Six was maybe a pretty tough sports question unless you're really into it. Name the baseball general manager that helped and the insanely long championship droughts for both the Boston Red Sox and the Chicago Cubbies. Can you name that GM? Joe, I just realized you you said the GM.
The GM, the general manager, not the coach, not the only the manager. Well this, then this is definitely wrong. But I because I jotted down Terry Francona, who is not a GM. He was the manager. I don't even know if he was the manager of uh, the correct manager for that title, but so that there you go, that's wrong. You're going with chitto Terry Francona, the current manager of the Cleveland Guardians, but I believe he was the coach of the Red Sox for sure.
Beth, did you get a guest for number six? Yes, I guessed coach sports Ball. Ah, that answer deserves a splooshe. I think you never know win in doubt. Uh huh, go with that living legend coach sports Ball. Oh yeah, one for one for the ages, one for the ages. Huge man. This person that was the general manager of both the Red Sox and the Cubs, he's no longer the general manager. I think he's a consultant now for Major League Baseball. His name is theo Epstein.
Theo Epstein, our manager that kind of can go to either city and probably never buy a meal or a drink because he helped put those teams together. I also feel bad that any anyone who has that last name right now, I do feel bad for them. Yeah, change it up for all the other Epstein exactly, more and more other Epstein's. Yes. Question number seven. Name the fibrous sclero protein that is the key structural material that makes up your hair and nails. Beth, I said, keratin, keratin.
That is a good guess. Joe, what did you put for number seven? I also said keratin. The ks have it. It is, in fact keratin haratin makes up your toennails, your fingernails, and your hair. Now everybody at home knows. And finally, question eight, your final question in the General Knowledge Round, name the youngest woman he got recipient who this year has her own daytime talk show. Joe. I went with the lovely and talented Jennifer Hudson. Jennifer Hudson, Jay hudd for Joe. Great guess,
Beth, what did you put? I think you're right, Joe. Probably I said Woop Goldberg? But will Be Goldberg? Yeah, you guys are brilliant. What Be Goldberg? Was the first African American woman he got winner? But the one that answers this question is miss Jennifer Hudson. Oh, you guys were all around it. You guys did great. That was a hell of a General Knowledge Round. Here's our first scoreboard update. We have Beftover with five big points and Joela Truglio in the lead by the slimmest
of margins with six. It is six to five, so close, so close. All right, Joe, you get to choose which color would you like on the scoreboard. I'm gonna go with red, my favorite. Going to go with red favorite color? Yep, six to five beautiful. This is how we draw it up. We draw it up so that it's a close game. We're playing with betht Dover and Joela Truglio, married couple, have known each other for twenty years. They have a beautiful son. But
they're going head to head right now, and you should better. It's time for round two. Round two, pop culture grab bag. It could be music, it could be movies. Today it is a movie round, and we're gonna do a spooky movie round. These are all the questions he's getting this one. Joe does in fact love himself a spooky movie? And he does. We're recording this before Halloween, and I am in full throttle like
I have been since started in September because I couldn't wait. So I'm watching all I'm watching the good, the bad, and the ugly, and I just I can't get enough of it. I love him alastic. I go to bed at night and he stays up and watches horror films, so he is I mean, this is going to be a runaway. And the key to that doing that is to make sure that I menu out of shutter or
whatever I'm watching. So when our six year old comes downstairs, he's not terrified with a bloody face, screaming at him, which exactly, which, Which hasn't not happened? Because happened? Has it happened more than once? Yes? Does it happen anymore? No, it definitely doesn't. It doesn't happen. The therapist has said he's doing much better. You gotta go to therapy for something, you know, I gonna If it's for spooky movie stuff, that's great, that's great. Round two your pop culture grab bag.
These are spooky movies. There are eight questions in this round. We'll start with question number one. Here we go, name either of the films based on novels by William Peter Bladdie or Peter Benchley. Those are the authors of the books that these very famous spooky movies were based off of. Can you name either of the films? William Peter Bladdie wrote one of them, Peter Benchley wrote the other ones. And these are these are these aren't deep cuts
at all. These are this is a major spooky or horror movies. Can you name either of them? But people forget that these were based off of books A lot of the times. Again, for question number one, name either of the films based on novels by William Peter Bladdie or Peter Benchley for question number one? All right? Question number two. In the Halloween movie series, the action takes place mostly in Haddenfield. Haddenfield is the town where
Michael Myers kills a billion people? But what real US state is that fictional town in hadden Field? What hadden Field? What for all those Halloween films? Again? Question number two. In the Halloween movie series, the action takes place mostly in Haddenfield. But what real state is that fictional town in? What real United State is it in? Or does it take place in? Question number three? Question number three? Who played the character Winston Zedamore
in the Original Ghostbusters? Who played Winston Zedamore? I'll give you the hint that you know. Bill Murray played Peter Venkman, who played Winston Zedamore, one of the four original Ghostbusters in that Ivan Reitman spooky comedy. And again your hint is Peter Venkman was played by Bill Murray, So it's one of the other three. All right, we have arrived. Question number four the midpoint of your spooky movie pop culture grab bag? What's the name of the
doll from the Conjuring films? There was the Conjuring and The Conjuring two, and then they made like seventy six I believe films centering around the scary ass doll. What's the name of that doll? Good Man dolls are just terrific. Oh my god, the clown from from Poulter Guy still was one of the scariest things of my childhood. Yes, that the little trilogy of d doll that ran around is another gooddy Yep, yep for sure. So yeah.
Question number four again, what's the name of the doll from those Conjuring films? All right? Question number five? Question number five, We're on the back nine here. What George a Romero black and white classic is considered a major contributor to the image of the zombie in pop culture? What George a Romero black and white classic is considered a major contributor to the image of the zombie in pop culture? For Numero Sinko, I like question number six
a lot. Name the Harold and Maud actress that won an Oscar for her role of mini cast event in Rosemary's Base be one of my favorite actresses of all time. Name the Herald and Maud actress that won an Oscar? I think for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Mini Castavet in Rosemary's Baby. And we have arrived at your penultimate question in this round, Question number seven, in which Friday the Thirteenth film does Jason first wear his famous hockey mask?
What number Friday the thirteenth film? They made about a bajillion of them? In which Friday the thirteenth film? So you can guess on this one. The first one is it? The second one is it? The third one? Is it? The fourth one? Is it? The fifth one? I think he eight? He's in New York. He does go to space, I believe, Yeah, he battles everybody. Yeah, In which Friday the Thirteenth Film does Jason first wear his famous hockey mask? And finally
we are here. We're at the final question of round two. What comedian plays the friend role to Daniel Coelulia's Chris in Jordan Peele's Get Out? What comedian plays the friend role to Daniel Colulia's Chris in Jordan Peele's Get Out? Plays a security guard or oh name Matt? Comedian? Number eight? Very funny man plays the friend role to Daniel Coluia's Chris in the Wonderful Jordan Peel
film Get Out for question number eight. All right, ladies and germs, pens down, let's go over your answers in the Spooky movie pop culture grab Bag. There were eight questions in this round. Question number one, name either of the films based on novels by William Peter Bladdie or Peter Benchley. Joe start us off in this round. What did you put for number one? Well, I I went, I took a choice. I took a
choice. I made a choice. The choice was I was going to go for the obvious answer, so I went with the Deep, with the Deep for Peter Benchley, mm hmm. And I went with The Exorcist for uh, mister Bladdie, mister Bladdie, excellent, Miss Dover. Did you have did you venture guests? For number one? I said Jaws based on Joe's face, but I do look like a great way. Well, but I just felt like it was like a movie. You had a smirk on your
face, so I think it's maybe Jaws. All right, I'm going to give each of you a point because William Peter Bladdie did in fact write the novel The Exorcist. Nailed that one, and then Peter Benchley did, in fact write Jaw. So we have Jaws and the Exorcist, so both of you Jaws. You didn't, Joe, you didn't say, I know, I wanted to. I wanted to do the other movie that he turned he got, Yeah, he got, he got the Exorcist, so I got. I'll give him a point for that. But then, yeah, just
reading your husband's face lit up, I had hell Razer. But but technically, uh is that because Peter Bentley wrote The Deep too? I believe he did. We'll have Annie look it up. Annie did Peter Benchley? Uh right, rite the novel The Deep was that turned into a film as well. Was okay, we'll have her. We'll have her look it up. But I'm giving you both a point. You got, you got part of it. That was great. The Exorcist and Jaws to just can't miss.
They're just so damn good. All right. Question number two? You could guess at in the Halloween movie series the action takes place mostly in Haddenfield. What real state is that? Fictional? In Beth, I said, Texas, Texas. Good guest, Joe, what did you put Illinois? Illinois? Got Texas? You got the Texas chainsaw, massacre and Leatherface running around. Michael Myers was stabbing people and doing stuff in Haddenfield, Illinois. It
was the midwestern state of Illinois, the land of Lincoln. Haddenfield, Illinois is where all the Halloween movies take place. Question number three who played the character Winston Zedimore in the original Ghostbusters? Joe? What did you put for number three? I? I put Ernie Hudson, Ernie Hudson love Ernie Hudson. Beth. What did you put for number three? I put Dan Ackroyd,
dan Ackroyd. Dan Ackroyd played the character Raymond Stance and the late Great Harold Ramis played Egon Spangler, which leaves Winston Zenamore being played by Ernie Hudson. It was, in fact Ernie Hudson, but Ackroyd was a great guess and Annie is agreeing that, yes, Peter Benchley did in fact right the deep. So yeah, even though it was I was going for Jaws, you had it. You had your bases covered. Question number four, what's the name of the doll from the Conjuring Film's Beth? I said, Broms.
Broms the doll Broms. Joe, what did you put for number four, I put Annabelle Annabelle, So we have Brams and Annabelle. The correct answer is Annabel. Annabelle is the name of that gross, scary, freaky doll at the Yes the what are their names? Vera Formiga and Patrick Wilson. They played a couple of the experts, and they have that room filled with all the crazy things, including that scary as doll. But I think they've made two or three Annabelle creation annabel this Annabel that it is, in
fact annabel Question number five? What George A. Ramiro black and white classic is considered a major contributor to the image of the zombie in pop culture. Joseph, Night of the Living Dead, Night of the Living Dead, Beth, what did you put for number five? Oh? I said, no, Stu, Oh, that's one too. The black and White threw you, I think, real old school, but now it's just you guys.
A very scary movie in and of itself, not yeah, and the remakes they've made like two or three nosatus and that that character is always freaky as hell, but yeah. George A. Romero is very famous for all of his Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, Day of the Dead like the Afternoon Tea of the Dead, like He's done them all is George A Romero, But it all started with Night of the Living Dead,
which takes on race at that time too, which is incredible. Uh. Question number six named the Harold and Maud actress that won an Oscar for her role of mini cast event, the nosy neighbor in rose Mary's Baby, Beth. I said, Ruth Gordon, Ruth Gordon, r g Joe. What did you put for number six? I also put Ruth Gordon. The correct answer is Ruth Gordon. Yeah, that answer deserves a huzzah. She is
like in Harold and Maud and and and uh Rosemary's Baby. If you don't love her after those two films here, Harold and Maud is one of my favorite movies. I love I love her just just awesome because she had I looked up some pictures of her and you see her. She was like young starlet that was in Hollywood for many moons, and not until she was an elder actress did she start getting you know, all the just do for how well she let us not forget the wonderful supporting h character of ma in Clint
Eastwood's every which way but loose exactly with the shotgun on the porch. Right. We love Ruth Gordon. This is the new Ruth Gordon Podcast. This is the Yes Talk Ours Weird Club. Yeah she is, She's She's the most likable person in the world. Question number seven, in which Friday the Thirteenth film does Jason first wear his famous hockey mask? Joela Truglio, What did you put? I believe it was part three? Part three is yes, math what did you put? It's a weird question. It's such a
weird question because I just assumed it was the first one. But because of that question, I'm just going to say the second one very good because in the first one, it's not him at all. It's his mom that's killing everyone. So everyone forgets that, like Jason's been around the whole time, and they talk about Jason, but it's actually his mom that's killing everyone in the first one. In the second one, Jason is doing the killings,
but he's not wearing his famous mask yet. It happens in the third one. It is Friday the Thirteenth Part three, where he puts on the famous goalie hockey mask and then wears it just sticks. I mean it sticks for about sixty eight films, and you know I always thought about that. I'm like, man, it could have been like he carries around like a bad minton racket, or he has a catcher's masks. They picked like they tried him on there like that looks ridiculous. Like he's wearing rollerblades. He looks
like an asshole. He's not gonna scare anybody. You think I scar anyone? So it is Friday the thirteenth, Part three. Weird question, but it is the third one. And then question number eight. What comedian plays the friend role to Daniel Caluia's Chris in Jordan Peel's Get Out Beth? Could you come up with that name? Both of you were working really hard to pull that name out. I just said Ray, but I don't know. I don't know. It's something that I don't remember. You're right there,
you're right there, Joe. What did you put? I put Brian Tyr Henry and I don't think that's right. His name funny guys. He's shown up in a bunch of stuff. He's a really funny guy. His name is Lil Rell, Lil Rel howriy, Yes, Lil Rell is his name horrific. It's so great in the movie and such a great like bit of comic relief from that high tension scary ass get out that he's so great.
So we have a scoreboard update at halftime. It's not a bloodbath. We have Beth Dover with seven points and Joe with an almost perfect spooky movie round with thirteen. It's thirteen to seven at halftime, updating the old tote board here. I mean, you know, Joe's the biggest horror officionado ever. Like, when are we going to do a Real Housewives round? You know what I'm saying. I was hoping that you watch them together. It might
be named all the cities that the Real Housewives had to show in. You don't know, then you just clean up exactly see, you never know. Really, I'm sad to say the rest of it is also spooky movie trivia. That's so rude, really sticking it to my friend Beth for no reason, for no good reason, no reason, not at all. So yes, it's thirteen to seven, but we're only at halftime. There's two more huge rounds to go. We are playing with Beth Dover look for her in
this new film written by her hobby and directed by her hobby. It's called Outpost. It's going to be at in London, but then it's going to be everywhere very soon. So by the time this episode's out, look for Outpost check it out. You can follow Joel Truglio on Twitter at Joela Truglio, on Instagram at Joela Truglio, and then Beth Dover. You can follow her at Beth Doover Number one Beftover one on Twitter and at the official Beth
Dover on Instagram. There playing for the charity Life Wire. For the record, I know it's not cool to have a one after your name on it. I had to have a one. I know that it's not cool, but I had to want to know. I'm too lazy to change it. No, my name's so blame Mike Nelson. There's like sixty trillion of us on the planet, so like I was not getting Mike Nelson anything, So I've always had to be like the middle initial or my confirmation name, do
I Jesus Christ? If I put sixty nine at the end, Mike, what is the sixty nine on the endem Mom, don't worry about it. Worry about it. Get on the room the year I wish I was born in. Yeah, the moon landing. Get out of here, get off my back, all right. It is thirteen to seven. It may seem like it's a runaway. It ain't. We've seen bigger leads go by the
wayside. So it's thirteen to seven going into our third round. It's the weird round, It's the wacky round, It's the infamous round three, the lightning round scares so Beth, you are trailing at this moment, so you get first DIBs on picking your lightning round question. You can either choose kick the can, whiffle ball, or capture the flag today for your lightning round question. And I don't know whiffleball. I don't know what do I do?
You're taking? You're taking wiffleball. Okay, I like this question. Whiffleball. You're taking. Wiffleball is my favorite game. I played more whiffleball than any other sport in my life. Whiffle ball. I'm gonna give you this question. I'm gonna read it twice. I'm gonna say go, and then I'm gonna hit the button. There's gonna be twenty seconds on the clock. So it's better to just say as many words as possible. You're not
writing anything down, you're just spurting off words. I'm very bad at things like timed things. Then my mind will go blank. It's a math time test. It's multiplication tables. I disagree. I feel like you did very well on family feud. When we did that in Fast Money, you guys, it was very easy. They were like, name it where that starts, or a day of the week it starts with S. You know what I mean, Like, it wasn't that hard. Well, at least you
didn't say, like, you know, Sursday or something that's true. That's true. All right, great, So this is your whiffle ball lightning round question. I'm gonna read it twice. Joe. You might want to drop some ideas down to steal some answers from Beth. She doesn't get to them in twenty seconds. But here we go. I want to know the top nine people that have been have had the longest tenures hosting SNL's weekend updates. So these are the weekend update news type people on SNL that have had the
longest tenures. They've done it for many, many seasons, all of them the top nine twenty seconds on the Clock and Ago, Tina Fey, Ammy Pohler, Seth Myers, Colin Jost, Michael Chay. That was great, good job picking whiffle ball. Whiffle ball is no longer on the table. But it's Joe's turn in the barrel. Joe, you can choose either kick the can or capture the flag. Let's kick the can. Let's kick the can. All right, this should be interesting. This might be a little come up and sir, we'll see you might rock this. We'll see. So capture the flag. It was a different question. That's going to go back into the hopper for a game down down the road.
So you picked kick the can? What I need to know from you? The top nine most popular shampoo brands in these here United States. The top nine most popular shampoo brands in the US. You didn't steal any you didn't steal any This was a tough one. This is a weird question. There's some of these in there that are just random
questions. Uh. Number one, you've probably seen these when you went to a sleepover and you saw they had a big purple bottle Assi that aussy. Oh yeah, sure, that's number one. I was surprised it was number one, was surprising. Dove is number two. I don't really Dove, but Dove. I guess Max's shampoo. Alberto Culver never heard of it in my life ever. And then the beautiful women whipping their hair all over the place, Garnia fruk tease. Sure, of course a hard one with time, with it being time. If I gave you like three hours to do that, you guys would probably get most of them. But it's like in twenty seconds,
there's Yes, that's a tough one, all right. So we have closed the gap a little bit. After a very fun and interesting lightning round. We have a new score Beth Dover with twelve points and Joe Latruglio with sixteen. It's sixteen to twelve. So yes, So after a very sporting lightning round, it is sixteen to twelve Joela Trublue and the lead over Beth Dover. But the lead has shrunk a little bit as we head into our fourth
and final round between you two. Round four the double duty. That's called the double duty because points are doubled, and there are nine questions in this round, so there are eighteen points up for grabs. Perfect for a comeback. There is a category in this round. Today's category for your double duty is famous record albums. These are the famous albums that we've all probably owned. We probably have them on our shelves. Patty Smith's Landmark debut album came out in nineteen seventy five and has a plural animal title name that album. Again, Patty Smith's Landmark debut album came out back in nineteen seventy five and has a plural animal title name that album. For number five, Question number six, I think you got this one. album for what trio? What trio is what I'm looking for? For number six, the album was called Crazy Sexy Cool All one word came out back in nineteen ninety four. What's the second album for what Trio? Question number seven? I like question number seven. It's another one where you're like your mind can play tricks on you on this one. What two members of Fleetwood Mac are on the cover of their album Rumors. They're very famous album Rumors.
What two members? There's four members of the band, but only two of them are on the cover for some reason. So what two members of Fleetwood Mac are on the cover of their very famous They've sold millions and millions of copies of Rumors? Spelled the British way. I believe there's too many us in that word rumors, So I'm gonna need both members to get the two points for number seven. See in my brain, it's they're all four. I see the album cover in my brain, but there's four of them
on it. There's something I will mention when we go over the answers that I seriously don't think I ever noticed until I was doing research for this, and I can't believe that wasn't the first and only thing I've ever thought about this album cover ever. It's it blew. I thought it was one of those things I'm like, is someone fucking with me? Someone was a joke. We'll talk about it. We'll talk about it in a bit. Question
number eight. I love the preamble to this question. For anyone that was a part of Columbia House or BMG, you should know that Legend was the title of the greatest Hits album for what musician and their band Legend everyone, if you taped a penny to that postcard send into Columbia House alongside with a I'll give you the hint that it wasn't the Steve Miller band because they were the Eagles. Those were two close seconds. But end legend was the title
of the greatest hits for what musician and their band? Everyone in college had this Here we are question number nine? This arrived. It all comes down to this question number nine. Come On Over was the title of this best selling album for what Canadian country Superstar? Come On Over was the title of the best selling album for what Canadian country Superstar? All right, here we go, pencils down, Let's go over our answers to the Theodore double Dooty
Radcliffe round. It was famous record albums? Was your category? It's sixteen to twelve Joe and the lead over Beth. But it all comes down to this question Number one. Name the album that features the singer donning a white T shirt, blue jeans, and a red ball cap stuffed into the left back pocket. You needed to name the album. F What did you put for number one? I put Born to Run? Bruce Springsteen. Bruce Springsteen, Born to Run? Joe, What did you put for number one?
Put Born in the USA? Oh shit, you're right. Run is one of the Boss's biggest hits of all time. The name of the album with the American flag in the background as well is Born in the US. A and I was so smug about that one too. I was like, oh, I got this one, so you had it. You know what I almost did. I almost made a terrible mistake. And that mistake was I almost put faith because I just saw George Michael's jean but and I'm like, did he have like a red bandana? And then and then you said ball
cap? And wait, I'm like wait, wait, wait, So I almost When I was writing the question, I thought kind of similarly, I'm like, I wonder if someone will get it mixed up with George Michael's ass because there was a denimed asss. It was not born to run, it was born in the USA, Yes, of course. Question number two, what heavy metal band had albums titled Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets. I think those were two of their first three albums of all time. Joe,
did you have a guest for number two? Yeah? I you know, I'm not. I don't know a lot of heavy metal, So I took a guess, and so I went with Iron Maiden, Iron Maiden, great band, Beth. What did you put? I said, Metallica. Their first album was called Kill Them All, and then the album that really blew them up. Was Injustice for All For the band Metallica. Iron Maiden had those scary covers. The scary that's what I love. The artwork of Eddie, the crazy Skull character. Eddie scared the shit out. Can I
tell a story about an Iron Maiden shirt? Yes? Please? So my friend Bart he he made me made well, he made himself a shirt and I was like, I need that shirt and it's an Iron Maiden shirt, but it's Ira Glass, but it has the same artwork as an Iron Maiden shirt. And then one time I was at a bar and Ira Glass walked in and I had to tell him about it, and I showed him a picture and then he started interviewing me. I'll love this American life and it
was maybe one of the best experiences of my entire life. Oh my god, that's so good to hear that. Ira Glass wasn't like whatever, it was the coolest. He was exactly like you would think, Ira Glasses. Oh that's all. I love me so much. You got to send me a picture of that shirt. I want to. Well, that is so awesome. That was Metallica for question number two. Question number three, what famous jazz label had incredible album art on such records as John Coltrane's Blue Train,
Herbie Hanky, Made in Voyage, and Aren't Blakie's Moaning Beth. Did you come up with anything for number three? I just guessed, I said, Capitol Records. Capitol Records, Joe, do you agree with Capitol Records. I don't. I wrote down this is one of my game time decision answers, and I wrote down what I think is probably just a John Coltrane song. So I'm gonna not say that, and I'm gonna go with Blue Note, Blue Note Records. Great guests, you have Impulse and Verve some
other ones. The correct answer is Blue Note, Blue Note Records, Good job Sieves. Yeah, Yeah, Green Sleeves color. I was in the right color spectrum, and I think it. I just took it. Yeah, Green Sleeves graduate with Blue Note Records. If you look up there's there are coffee table books and things online. If you just look up Blue Note Records and you look at their album art in the in the sixties especially, it's just it's the coolest look and stuff. It's so beautiful cool. Question
number four. Grace was the title of the album that featured songs last Goodbye Lilac Wine and a stellar version of Leonard Cohenes Hallelujah for what late great singer Joe, Jeff Buckley, Jeff Buckley. Great guess, Beth, What did you put from number four? I could be wrong, I said Elliott Smith, Elliott Smith, both tragically died way too young. One of you is correct. The correct answer is Jeff Buckley. Jeff Buckley drowned in the Mississippi
River. Just an awful ending to like one of the most beautiful voices of all time, Elliott Smith. That's a great guess. That is a great guess question Number five. Patty Smith's landmark debut album came out in nineteen seventy five and has a plural animal title, which is a weird question to ask anyone. But what is it? What's the name of that album? Beth? Can I just say Joe has a funny response because he did it. He did his little mouth twitch thing, so he did it. He made
a joke answer on this one. Okay, I'm gonna say, horses, it's awesome that you know someone's witness what you get when you're together for twenty years. That's what you just witnessed Joe guys like this. When he's about to say something funny, he's like, my listener, my wife is pursing her lips. Yeah, you can't see that at home. But that is the cutest thing I have these eyes have ever seen of knowing someone that well, I cannot wait filter out so big. Now you blew it, Beth,
You just that was it. I went with OCTOPI. Yeah, thank you Octopi. It would have been great. It would have been great. She didn't ruin its to just cut your legs out from underneath. You don't know what could have been, OCTOPI. We don't know the answer yet. The correct answer. Patti Smith's seminal record came out in nineteen seventy five. It was her debut. It is called Horses. It is called Horses.
Be finally, my goodness with a huge two points right there. Question number six, Crazy Sexy Cool came out in nineteen ninety four and was the second album for what trio Joe. I had the wrong answer for a little bit, and then because I was picturing the album cover, I won with TLC TLC for Crazy Sexy Cool. Beth, do you agree with that? I do? Is that red cover with just like their their faces on it. It was t l C, T Boz Left Di lopezant Chili TLC. For
question number six. Question number seven, what two members of Fleetwood Mac are on the cover of their album Rumors? Beth, I said, Stevie Nicks and Mick Fleetwood. Stevie Nicks and Mick Fleetwood. Joe, what did you put for your answer for number seven? I also want with Stevie NICKX and Mick Fleetwood. The correct answer is Stevie Nicks and Lindsey No, it's not
Lindsay fucking Ham, it's Mick Fleetwood. You trivia that you were. I'm going to pull the album out because it's like, I I cannot believe I wasn't, like, how did I not notice this my whole life? But like there it is Mick Fleetwood and Stevie Nicks yea. And Mick Fleetwood has two wooden balls hanging and I've never noticed that in my life. Never. I I don't know if I have either. That's crazy, what what in
the hell again? Maybe people at home will be like, it's coach sports balls come around, but yeah, they're like they're they're both holding a crystal ball, which makes sense. And Mick Fleetwood has his like foot up on this little stool, and and and Stevie's doing her witchy stuff. But seriously, like just below his crotch, Mick Fleetwood has this string with two balls. She's like reading his balls, reading his crystal balls. Yeah. I
love that. Everyone there in the in the marketing department there are warners were like, I think it looks good. Any problem, and that's as it should be. I would I would love to hear from people that are listening at home like did you just run to go look up and google image rumors to be like, holy shit, he does have balls. It's weird because I I love the I love that. I love that there are things that you've seen a million times and then you discover something new. You're like,
what crazy crazy? So that's what it was is Mick Fleetwood and Stevie Nicks are friends telling all my friends, and there's a bunch of balls. There's a crystal ball and then the little wooden balls dingling around there. So never had too many balls. That's what I want, Yeah, a lot of balls for rumors. Question. It comes down to these final two questions for
anyone that was part of Columbia House or BMG. You should know that Legend was the title of the greatest hits album for what musician and their band? Joe? What did you put for number eight? Bob Marley and the Whalers, Bob Marley and the Whalers, Beth Dover. That was the one that I had my light bulb moment. Bob Marley. Yes, it is legend. We all owned it. It was one of our first six or eight CDs that you got for the price of a penny or a dollar for the
price of one CD. It was, in fact, Bob Marley and the Whalers Come On for number eight, legend. All right, it comes down to this question number nine. Question number nine, Come On Over was the title of the best selling album for what Canadian country superstar Beth. I'm gonna go with Shania Twain. Shanya, Shania Twain, Joe, what did you put for number nine? Brad Paisley, Brad Paisley. The correct answer is huh A feel lack of woman, Shania Twain. Ya, it is Shania
Twain. So we're tabulating the scoreboard. We have our final score between Bethtover and Joela Truglio. We have Beftover with twenty four points and Joela Truglio with twenty eight points. Woo work, nice work. It was not a runaway, It was not a bout. I can't believe I'm not gonna be able to wear this smart label very long. I gotta star watching more horror films. That's it. That's what that's what did you in was the horror films. I thought shampoo was going to just derail Joe so much. Oh yeah,
it almost did. Jesus shampoos. I need to do some more research on shampoo's hardest question. So it was twenty eight to twenty four. Joela Trugilo, you are, in fact the smartest person in the world. For one week, you can follow these people all over the place and watch all their stuff again. Bethtover, you've seen her in Children's Hospital in Orange Is the New Black, and another period. She stars in the new spooky movie
out Post. You can follow her on Twitter at Bethtover one, and you can follow her on Instagram at the official or not the official but just official Beth Dover. We are happy to give a donation to the charity Life Wire in both of your names, which is great. And then our champ, our champ. You've seen him on the State and What Hot American Summer and Reno nine one one and as Charles Boyle on Brooklyn nine to nine. He wrote and directed out We Gotta all watch this movie, everybody, and you
can follow him at Joe Latruglio on Instagram and Twitter. Again a donation to Life Wire can't wait to do that. But the game is not over. It's it's over between you two Joe, one fair and Square twenty eight to twenty four. But now it's time for Joe to face me the final throwdown. Oh boy, this is where Annie reveals our final throwdown question. I will read it to everyone. Joe, you get first crack at an answer. I can either agree with you, I can go my own way.
And then no matter what, Oh a nice fetwood maca circle back. Good. Yeah, Yeah, we're gonna we're gonna learn a little bit about this question and answer. So Annie, our lovely producer, without further ado, reveal our final throwdown question. It is this what was the first recorded plague pandemic? What was the first recorded plague pandemic? That's an interesting question because recorded is in there. What was the first recorded plague pandemic? Because there
probably was pandemics or plagues that happened months ago. But Joe, you get first crack at an answer for what was the first recorded plague pandemic? You know, I immediately my brain goes to, you know, black death and the bubonic But I don't know how much recording they were doing there, And so I'm just gonna go with, uh, this Spanish flu, the Spanish influenza. That was a that was a huge one nineteen eighteen. Yes, that's a great guess. I was thinking all the same things you were thinking.
So I will go different. I'll say black death, just just to be different. But I like Spanish Spanish flu. We got black death. And then we're gonna learn about whatever the hell this answer is. So Annie, without further ado, reveal the answer, and let's learn a little something about this, do mi lord? Now this is a deep cut. It was neither the Spanish flu, nor was it the Black death or the bubonic plague. It was the Justinian the Justinian plague. So let's learn about it.
The Plague of Justinian or the Justianic plague started in five forty one ab Holy smokes, that was a bit of go It was named it was named for Justinian the First, who was the Byzantine emperor at the time. What a cool thing. If you're the emperor, They're like, hey, we're gonna name this after you. Everyone's dying, isn't that cool. It was
spread by ships on their trade routes. Ugh terrible, and it was thought to have killed between thirty and fifty million people, about half the world's population at the time. Oh my gosh, holy smokes, the Justinian plague or the Justianic plague? Holy did they just maybe record that and hieroglyphics there in the wall? Yeah, exactlyt xes, just about thirty million xes. They're good. Just to think about half the population going bye bye in a short
span of time is chilling for it. So we learned a little something about plagues at the end of this. But it was a pleasure to have you both here. That's our game for this week. Again. We're happy to give donations to Life Wire and uh yeah, I cannot wait to watch out post when it comes out. Thank you so much, Thank you so much. Yeah, thank you for having us.
