Pencils down now, we will go over your answers in just a little bit, and it's time to introduce our wonderful guests that are playing You should Know Better Trivia today, starting from the main streets of Jersey City, New Jersey. You got schooled a little bit out here in California, but you've also lived in France and Argentina. You are a three time Jeopardy champ. You want a boatload of money. You are a finite a financial
coach. That's easy for me to say. At a nonprofit that focuses on economic empowerment for low and moderate income people, my new friend, Elise nuss Bomb is here today. Hello. Hello, Yes, so lovely to have you here. Elise. What charity are you playing for today? I'm playing for the National Network of Abortion Funds and it's yeah, I don't know if you if this is where I'm like, sure, And here's what that is.
Yeah, tell us a little bit about them. It's basically a coalition of about eighty abortion funds across the country that help people you know who need abortion care with logistics, whether that's transportation, whether that's you know, paying for it, or childcare, anything like that. And yeah, I think they do great work. That is tremendous. You can follow miss Elise nos Bomb on the Instagram at crypto elect that's correct, right, c R y P t O l ect. Yes, I do just want to say it,
like I realized a couple of years ago. It's kind of sounds like it's related to cryptocurrency, but it is not. It was just a word I heard that refers to a secret language where the point is that other people can't understand what you're talking about. And I liked it, and I made it by handle on a couple of things. Holy cow. Yeah you might get some weird messages now. Yeah, I, like so many other things. Ruined it on Instagram as crypto leck. But I'm glad you gave it
that little caveat. So now we know you're playing for the National Network of Abortion Funds, win or lose. We're happy to make a donation in your name to that wonderful charity. But now it's time to meet your opponent. You're in Austin, Texas now, But You're from the Great White North, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. That's where you were born and raise. You are a personal stylist. You were also a three day champion that won a bunch of money and your games came on the air right when the shutdown was
happening, so that was a very interesting thing. We'll get into all of that throughout the show. My new friend Jessica Babbitt is here today. Thank you very much. I'm happy to be here. So cool to have you here. And what charity are you playing for? Well, we've mentioned that
Elisa and I have a lot in common. I am playing for Fund Texas Choice today, who are an organization that help people get out of the state of Texas to get the abortion care that they need, so travel expenses, childcare, anything that they might need in order to get the healthcare that they require. So a great organization, really helping out Texans in a tough time right now. Damn straight, that's Fund Texas Choice Jessica Babitt. You can
follow her on Instagram at Crypto Babbitt. Nope, that's a joke. That is not true. That is not true at all. You can follow her at Jessica Babbitt, two great Jeopardy champs. We're going to talk about their journeys on Jeopardy and learn a lot more. But let's get back to the game. Let's go over our answers for Around. Want to get our first score update of the day. There were eight questions in the general Knowledge around. Question number one was who wrote We Were the Mulvaneys and Blonde, those
two novels? Elease, what did you put for number one? That would be the extremely prolific Joyce Carol Oates, Joyce, Carol Oates, Miss BABBITTT what did you put for number one? I haven't a clue, and I knew it was a person I had heard of who was extremely prolific, and I know I remember thinking that it's not the person I expected to have written that book. But no, I did not get it, and I knew Elise would. So good for you, Elise, I guess I got a
zero and defense there from you. Yeah, yep, little learned league action, it is the very prolific Joyce Carol Oates that wrote those two novels. Question number two and SARAGEI Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf. What instrument instrument sections represent the wolf and which one represents the hunters. Jessica, what did you venture a guess on number two? You know, not one percent sure, but I wrote strings and brass, rings and brass. Elease, what did
you put for number two? I also wrote strings and brass, but in the other order, so I put brass for wolf and strings for hunters. Those are great guesses. Okay. Horns represent the wolf and the hunters are represented by percussion. Percussion strings represent Peter. The strings section represents Peter and Peter and the wolf. You are very close, but I can't give it
to you. But you got brass. Not bad. I'm just proud of myself for being able to name two sections of the orchestra because I was there like a question number three? Was your movie? Question? In round one? Olivia Coleman won an Oscar in twenty eighteen for portraying Queen Anne in what film Elise? The Favorite? The Favorite? Jessica, what did you put for three? It? The correct answer is the Favorite, which was a favorite film of mine that year. It was really great film. It is
the favorite for number three? Question number four, what is the capital of Tanzania in Africa? I gave you the hint that it starts with the letter D. Jessica, what did you put for number four? So the first thing I had didn't start with the letter D. So I just went I just went grasping for African cities that I know start with the letter D, and I said, Dakkar, dak Car. Good guess, Elise, what did you put? Uh? I put Dara Salam. Yes, very great,
guess is not far off. The correct answer is Dadoma Dadoma. It's a tough one. I don't think I would have gotten that one. Would not have pulled that one. Dadoma, Tanzania. Yeah, I think it used to be. I think that might be Dara Salam was I think maybe the previous capital or ends The question number five was what G word is a verb ending in Iang that acts as a noun, Elise. So my first thought was like, okay, a G word that ends in I n G is going to be the answer. And then I was like, I don't
think that's what he's asking. So I wrote Jarend a Jarend, Jessica, what did you put for number five? I also put jarend. Give yourselves a big point. You get it correct? It is a jarend is that g word? Question number six one American sailor, whaler and stailor now Stevedore is commonly regarded as the first person to be killed in the Boston massacre. Way back in March of seventeen seventy, jess I said, I don't know any whalers. I'm I can't name one whaler was Stevedore? I don't know?
No, I have no idea, no idea. Did you have an idea, Elise? I did. I don't know a ton of whalers. I believe Herman Melville is probably the most famous whaler there. But I feel like I do know the the dude who got got in the Boston massacre, and his name is Christmas Attics. The correct answer is Crispus Attics. What a name. You don't see a lot of Christmases anymore. That answer deserves a huzzah. No, that's really one that's died out. Yeah, Christmas,
maybe it'll make a comeback. Who knows Christmas addicts? Was that man? For number six? Question number seven, name either of the two host countries for the two thousand and two World Cup A lease, what did you come up with? Well, I'm glad you said either, because I was like, there were two. As I said, I'm not really following sports very close. I put cutter, cut her, cut her for a number
seven, And Jessica, what did you put for number seven? I started out writing, oh, no sports, and then like a lightning bolt from the sky, I just wrote down the host of the current World Cup, which happens to be Cutter. Look at you two are same mind similar in all these ways. You both put cutter for number seven. The correct answer was Japan and South Korea, the neighbors they co hosted. Wee, I
could have sworn you said twenty twenty two, two thousand and two. Oh yeah, no, okay, no, that's we can go back and see if I if I, if I said that wrong, But it doesn't matter. Never would have gotten it the two thousand and two World Cup twenty years ago. How funny is that that we came at that from two different angles and still came up with cutter. It's a fun word to say. It
was. Yeah, Japan and South Korea both co hosted. I think it was the first first country, I think from Asia to host the World Cup. Countries to host. Question number eight name the diners on Saved by the Bell and Beverly Hills nine O two one. Oh, Jessica, thank god, I know this. It's the Max and it's the peach Pit, the Max and the peach Pit. At least, what did you put for number
eight? Okay, thanks, here we go, strap In. I watched I'll Send ten seasons of BEV Niner and I have been listening to a rewatch podcast, which is amazing. Again with this, definitely recommend. I didn't really watch Steve by the Bell because I found everyone on it just completely obnoxious. That's part of the charms. Yeah, yeah, I put Maxes, Yeah, which is not right Max. Obviously I knew the peach Pit,
but I did. I put Max Max's. You're being very honest, you know what, I'm gonna give it to you because the guy that ran the place the first few seasons was Max, and it was his place, so they were they kind of were like, let's go to Max's or the Max. I think, so I'm gonna give that to you. I think that's your I mean, you're not far off. I'm glad I didn't go for the full joke answer and write Max's Kansas City yeah, don't do that and
you get a point. All right. Our first score update after a very fun around one, your general knowledge round, we have a Jessica babbittt with three points and Elise nuss Bomb with five. It's five to three after one. Elise, what color do you want on the JV volleyball scoreboard? Oh, I will take blue. Take blue. The scoreboard is updated. It
is five to three after one. It's anyone's game. So before we get into round two, which is our pop culture grab bag, let's talk a little bit about your Jeopardy journeys and what it was like for you guys to just get on the show. I'll start with you, Jessica. What was it like to finally get the call to get on the show? Unbelievable, right, Like anybody who's ever gotten that call is like, Oh, I can't believe it's me, and now now what am I going to do?
So I had by the time I was cast. It was my third in person audition. It was my second time receiving the call can you be on
Jeopardy? In the first time I could not because I had just been on Wheel of Fortune, so I was not eligible by the time that they called me, so yeah, audition once in twenty fifteen in Kansas City, did not make it through audition day, second time in twenty eighteen right here in Austin and didn't work out, And auditioned a third time in twenty nineteen in Houston, And that was what had me filming the show right at the very
beginning of twenty twenty January twenty twenty to air March eleventh, twelve, thirteenth, and sixteenth of twenty twenty, hours before the shutdown. How did you do on Wheel of Fortune? I won like twenty five hundred dollars and a trip to Romania. Hello, that's awesome. That's what I'm talking about. At least. What was it like for you? How long did it take
you to finally get on the show? All right? So I had first taken the test, I want to say, in like twenty thirteen, and I know this year because my they called me in for an audition and I was like, yeah, I am there. I'm gonna be about to have a baby, but that is fine. I will I will not let that stop me. But I did let it stop me because I my son came about two weeks early and I was like, hey, I'm so sorry. And then, you know, it was funny because my obstetrition was like,
so if you had gotten on, you would have gone. I'm like, oh, yeah, definitely, and she's like with a newborn, and I was like, yeah, is there a reason? Is there? Auldn't it sounds skeptical. I don't know why our bedside manner something to be desired there. But then I, I don't know. I just decided to try again a little while later, and yeah, they called me in for an audition, took what is possibly the best polaroid of me ever taken, and I wish I still had it, And you know, I had a good feeling.
I had a good feeling. That's so cool. And well, we'll talk more about your time on Jeopardy because both of you had the privilege of being on a show hosted by Alex Trempex. We'll talk about Alex and some stories that you guys have next round. But let's get back to the game. It's five to three after one, but we're heading into round two with Alice nus Bomb and Jessica Babbitt. Round two pop Culture grab Bag Today it's
a movie round. More specifically, These are all questions about Christmas movies Christmas films for your pop culture grab bag. I will say at the top of this there are a few kind of bonus points up for grabs on some of these questions. So there's an original question and there might be a kind of someone as questions involved here, so a chance to get quite a bit of points here. In the Christmas movie grab bag there are eight questions, but
again more points up for grabs here we go. Question number one, what are the familiar names of the cop and the cab driver that are good friends with George Bailey and It's a Wonderful Life? Again for question number one, what are the familiar names you've heard these names before together of the cop and the cab driver that are friends with George Bailey in that wonderful film It's a Wonderful Life directed by Frank Capra. Name those characters names for question number one.
Question number two, in what Midwestern state does a Christmas story take place? In? What Midwestern state does a Christmas story with Ralphie and his red writer bb Gun take place? My husband just watched this with our son yesterday. Oh my gosh, not a favorite of mine. No, Oh, I think it's funny, like it reminds me of like, I don't know, Garrison Keeler. But there is a bonus question to this question. For number two, your bonus is, can you give me the name of the
bully the Ginger Bully in a Christmas story? It's got a pretty remarkable name. Can you name the bully that beats up Ralphie and his pals in a Christmas story? All right, here we go. to this guy on a walkie talkie throughout die Hard. But I want to know the name of the actor that portrayed Sergeant al Powell in that it is a Christmas film die Hard. Last name Will Suffice. Your bonus question is named the TV sitcom that that same actor starred in as the dad Carl Winslow. Name for the your bonus point one question number three? Question number four. Here we are at the midway point of your pop culture grab bag.
These are Christmas movies Number four. Juliette Lewis and Johnny Galecki portray what two Grizzwald siblings. What are the names of the Grizzwald kids. Juliette Lewis and Johnny Galecki play them in the Christmas version National Lampoons Christmas Vacation. Can you give me the first names of those Grizzwald siblings? Question number five. We have arrived at question number five. Buddy the Elf gets a job working at what department store? Buddy the Elf played by Will Farrell gets a job working
at what department store in that film Elf. For a bonus question, can you give me the name of the actor that plays the manager at that department store? Very funny character actor comedian that plays the manager at that department store? Can you name him? For your bonus point? Question number six? Here's question number six. Name the actress that played the ghost of Christmas Present in the film Scrooged or another named the actress from that same film Scrooge that
plays the put upon assistant to Bill Murray's a whole character? Can you name either of those actresses? One plays the ghost of Christmas Present in a very memorable role. And then can you name the actress who plays the put upon assistant to Bill Murray's a whole character that very funny film. Scrooged for number six. Question number seven. In the lyrics to the song You're a Mean One, Mister Grinch, he is described at the very end as a three
decker sauer Kraut and toadstool sandwich with what three syllable sauce? It's a sauce at the very end of the song, Thorough ravenscroft YEP, I'll repeat that. In the lyrics to You're a Mean One, mister Grinch, he has described as a three deck or sauerkraut and toadstool sandwich with what three syllable sauce? Yeah? I think when I found out the you know, Boris Karloff plays the voice of the Grinch during the cartoon, But the singer of that
song's name is Thorough Ravens. Croft is one of the greatest names. No one's naming their kids Thorough anymore? Move over christ name Thurl Ravens Crofts SA Gretto Thurle Crispmas Question number eight, here we go. Who directed nineteen eighty four's Gremlins. Finally a movie I've seen? Who directed nineteen eighty four's Gremlins, and then a bonus question, what stand up comedian voiced the gremlin gizmo?
There's a stand up comedian that voiced Gizmo from Gremlins. All right, pencils down, let's go over your answers for your pop culture grab bag your second round here. Christmas movies was the category. There's a lot of bonus points available. Let's see how we do question number one? What are the familiar names of the cop and the cab driver that are friends with George Bailey in It's a Wonderful Life, Jessica, what did you put for number one? Oh? No, not me? First, I don't I have never
seen this movie. It's depressing, I said. Peter and Paul, I don't know you're in. Paul, that's a great guest. A lease? Did you have a guest for number one? Yes, It's a Wonderful Life is the Christmas movie. I will watch this movie every year. The chemistry of Donna Reed and Jimmy Stewart is just off the charts. I've never seen two people more hot for each other. I love it. The guy's names are Bert and Ernie. Oh no way, okay, Bert and Ernie,
Great guest. The correct answer is Bert and Ernie Classic pair. Question number two in what Midwestern state does a Christmas Story take place? A lease? Ohio? OHI oh? Did you have an idea of who the bully might be? Christmas addicts, We're bringing it back. That's a callback, folks, Jessica, what did you put? I think a Christmas story is set in Indiana and the bully I think they call him by his last name, but I can't remember what it is, so I just wrote like scud,
Oh my gosh, what to do? What to do? I think I gave at least I gave you one in round one, right, Yeah, you gave me one that was very borderline. I think I'm gonna give a pot so the Midwestern state. It was filmed in Ohio, but it takes place in Indiana, and the bullies full name. I had it wrong for a long time. You said Scutt, and I'm gonna give you the point because his name is not Scott, It's Scut, So Barcas is his name. Scott Farcas is one of the best names. Again, Thurl Ravens,
Cross, Ravenscroft, Christmas Acts and Scott Farcas all in one show. It's just too much. Such good names. So the answers were Indiana and Scutt Farcas. Question number three, what actor portrayed Sergeant Al Powell in die Hard? And then the bonus was named the TV sitcom that the same actor started as the dad Carl Winslow. Jessica, what did you put for number three?
Okay? So I know that Carl Winslow is from Family Matters right with Arkell, and I swear this guy's name is Reggie something, Reginald something, But I don't know for sure. Okay, at least what do you got from number three? Look, before you started talking about sitcoms, I was like Jonathan Banks, Uh, he seems like he played a cop in the He's always a cop in eighties films. Yeah, I have seen die Hard, but just the ones. So yeah, I had no idea. Reginald,
No, I know, nothing's coming to me. Okay. And you don't know the sitcom? No, I didn't know Family She's got it. She's showing her work, folks. I don't expect anybody to take my word for it Family Matters, So I can't give you his name. His name is Reginald something, but last names is the ones I need for this one. His name is Reginald Vell Johnson. Reginald Vell Johnson played Sergeant Al Powell and Carl Winslow on Family Matters, so you both got the Family Matters point
well done. Question number four, Juliet Lewis and Johnny Galecki portray what to Griswolds siblings and National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation Elise Well. I was thinking maybe it was like a Tony Danza situation, so I put Juliet and Johnny Jonathan, Juliet Jessica. What did you put? I don't know, I do. The one random fact that I can pull out about this is that in the Vegas Vacation movie, the Sun has a fake idea where his name is mister
Papadopoulos, but I have no idea what the child's name is. So the actors all change from each vacation, from the original vacation to European vacation, at Christmas vacation, and I think even Vegas Vacation. There's always different actors that play these two, but the names stay the same. The kid's names are Audrey and Rusty. Audrey and Rusty Griswold. Question number five, Buddy the Elf played by Will Farrell gets a job working at what department store?
And then your bonus question was who plays the manager? Very funny, comedic actor plays the manager at that department store? Jess, did you have a guess? I went for the classic answer of Macy's and I don't know the actor. Okay, Macy's Good Guests, don't know the actor? Elise, what did you get? I also guessed Macy's. And I feel like i as moves at some point that ed Asner is in this movie, so I'm ed Asner Great Guests. He is in that film. He plays Santa Claus.
Okay, ed Asner plays Sanity Clause in Elf. The correct answer the department store is Gimbals. It's Gimbals department Store. And that very funny actor who plays the manager who's always stressed out around Christmas time is Phaison Love. Phaison Love plays the manager in Elf. Now you know? Question number six, named the actress that played the ghost of Christmas Present? And and or could you name the actress that played the put upon assistant to Bill Murray's a
whole character in the movie scrooged Alise. All right, so this one I saw but just once and I fell asleep, and I feel like Carol Kane, wasn't it Carol Kane. I'm gonna say, Carol Kane. Love her. She's wonderful. Jess, what did you put? I wrote down the only woman from any Bill Murray movie I could ever think of, and it's Andy mtdell from groundhog Day, such a great movie. That one your correct
answers. The woman that played the ghost of Christmas Present and pretty much beats the ship out of Bill Murray during her scenes is the lovely Carol Kane. Done's beautiful. Yes, she's a like fairy princess and beats him with a toaster and kicks him in the where the sun don't shine. It's very funny. The other actress, if you're playing at home, put upon assistant to Bill Murray's character great character actress is Alfrey Woodard. Alfrey Woodard, who has
the sun that can't speak until he speaks at the very end. Spoiler alert question number seven. In the lyrics to a euroman one, Mister Grinch, he is described as a three deck or sour krout and toadstool sandwich with what three syllable sauce Jessica, arsenic arsenic sauce in a kid's song. Really, at least, what did you put exposing? You have another gap? Am I Christmas pop culture knowledge? Because you said three syllable sauce and I said
holland base. Some people might think that's pretty gross or despicable. The correct answer is arsenic sauce. A you know, I thought it was like one of those things where it's like a hollandaise. It's nice when it's on something nice, and then if it's on was it toadstools? And yeah, you know, it's like Hollandaise sauce. Not great. It is arsenic sauce for number seven. And then finally question number eight, who directed nineteen eighty four
as Gremlins? And as a bonus question, what stand up comedian voiced the gremlin? A gizmo Elise, So that'd be Joe Dante as the director and Howie Mandal as gizmo. Jessica, what did you put for number eight? No idea? Who directed this movie? And I put famous voice actor and stand up comedian Gilbert Gilbert Godfrey. Yes he does all those voices. Yes, Gilbert, he does have one of a kind. Rest and peace,
good sir. The correct answer. The director was Joe Dante. Joe Dante directed Gremlins and I Think Gremlins too, which is an even more I think insane version. And the stand up comedian that voiced Gizmo was none other than and Howie Mandell. Finishing strong Elise with a two pointer at the end. So let's tabulate your scores. I'll take a second here, so we have a score update after a very fun pop culture grab bag. We have a Lease in the lead with ten points. She's in double digits, Jessica Babbott
with seven. It's ten to seven at halftime, so at the midway point it is ten to seven. We are here with Elise Nuss Bomb and Jessica Babbott. Elise you can follow her on Instagram at Crypto elect she's playing for the National Network of Abortion Funds. And Jessica Babbott you can follow her on Instagram at at Jessica Babbott and she's playing for the Fund Texas Choice Charity.
Before we move on to our third round, let's talk a little bit more about Jeopardy and both of you were so privileged to get to play with Alex Trapbeck. If you have any memories or stories about your shows playing with the
Gray, Alex will start with you. Elise. Yeah, I mean, I guess my favorite moment was one that happened off screen where it was like after the show and he was talking to one of the other contestants who said something nice about me, and Alex kind of looked at me and he goes, she knows a lot, she's fast on the buzzer, and she's not intimidated. And I was like, I'm not intimidated. Awesome. Yeah, so that's like my pep talk to myself. I'm like, never Beck,
didn't think you were intimidated. Never forget those wise words. That is great. How about you, Jessica. He was great. He was and I think anybody who you know, had the chance to work with him would say that he's exactly what you want and expect him to be. He was charming and he was affable. He was funny and just like very pleasant to be around. He wanted everyone on the stage to succeed. He got really excited when contestants were getting, you know, answers that maybe he or questions that
maybe he thought were difficult, he thought was difficult. And yeah, I remember at the end of my third game, uh, you know, the credits roll, and he pointed his cards at me and he said, very well done, young lady. And I'm like, okay, I'll just I'll just melt away now, I'll just die be okay, Like I'll just leave now every yeah, goodbye, thank you. It was great, Babbitt out.
Yes, he as as has happened to me. As I'm sure you can imagine many times in my life accidentally called me Jessica Rabbit and it was written up in the Daily Mail. So that's my claim to fame. Whenever anybody asked me, what's your fun fact, that's just google Google Jessica Babbitt Daily Mail and an article will come up that you will find interesting. That is wonderful. Thanks for sharing those memories of the great Alex Trebek. It's time to get back to the game. We're at the midway point. A
lease Nus Bomb is in the lead over Jessica Babbitt. It's ten to seven as we enter our third of four rounds today, Round three, the lightning round. Twenty seconds on the clock and go, hey, carbon, silicon, nickel, tin, irons. I'm just gonna start naming things cadmium, platinum, silver, stop. You got
two. You got number two, which is silicon is number two in all of the elements, is the second most abundant, and iron number four. You got silicone and iron for the nine most abundant elements in Earth's crust. All right, at least it's your five second or bottle to try and steal some answers. There's still seven on the board. Five seconds and a go, Okay, I know I'm gonna repeat some carbon, hydrogen, iron, oxygen, nitrogen, tin, lead, gold. I think you got one.
You got oxygen, which is number one. Oxygen is number one, So let's I'm gonna tabulate this a little bit. So we got three. So the six we didn't get to number three on the list, Aluminum third most did you hear me saying, I said the first half of aluminum? Aluminium? A stop to nine. Next, you were there number five? None of you said calcium? Correct, No, calcium is number five, I said, cat. Yeah, you were closed close. So many letters
in common. If you take the L in the sea and you move the L to the sea, it makes a D. So that could be cadmium, sodium is number six, magnesium is number seven, potassium is number eight, and titanium is number nine. You did well, you got three out of the six and now at least it's your turn in the barrel for the lightning ground. You could choose either Anne or Emily Bronte for your question. All right, Agnes Gray is like low key genius. But I recently saw
a rock opera production of Weathering Heights, which was kind of amazing. So I'm gonna I'm gonna go with Emily. Gonna go with Emily. All right, So Anne Bronte, we'll just go back in the hopper for a future game. All right, here we go for Emily Bronte again. I will repeat the question twice. I will say, go hit the button. You'll have twenty seconds. Jessica, you might want to drop some stuff down because I'll come straight to you for your five second rebuttal right after Elise's twenty seconds
are up. Elise, what I want to know from you? Name the nine plays by Shakespeare that come alphabetically last. So I don't need any a's or thus that I'm taking the articles off, So just the nine alphabetically last Shakespeare plays in his main folio nine of those twenty seconds on the clock, and go Romeo and Juliet, Titus Andronicus, Troilus and Cressida, A Winter's Tale, Hamlet, Loves Labor's Loss, Two Gentlemen of Verona, Comedy of
Errors, Henry the Fifth, All the Henry's Timon of Athens. Stop you rock. You got Romeo and Juliet, tim And of Athens, Titus Andronicus, Troilus and Cressida, two Gentlemen of Verona, and A Winter's Tail. So you got six holy smokes? All right, Jessica, you're five second bottles. See if you could steal any of the three that are still on the board. These are the name the nine plays by Shakespeare that come alphabetically last five seconds on the clock and to go. Okay, Twelfth Night,
the Tempest, Merchant of Venice, Mary, Wives of windsor stop. I think you got him? You said the Tempest, Twelfth Night? For sure? Did you say Taming of the True or No? No, I didn't. Okay, so that's the one we didn't get to. But you got the Tempest and Twelfth Night. God impressive, impressive, you got all nine
in the Shakespeare question that's more like it. All right, we have a scoreboard update after a very fun lightning round with some science and Shakespeare, we have Jessica with O say eleven and Elis nus Bomb maintains her lead seventeen. A's seventeen to eleven after three rounds, and we'll get to our fourth and final round between you two lovely ladies in just a second. So let's continue to talk about your Jeopardy journeys and a kind of a weird thing as you
guys were alternates. You guys didn't get to play in the tournament. You were there in case someone got sick or had travel issues or whatever. And they always have alternates for every day of taping on Jeopardy because they shoot multiple shows in a day. So yeah, just tell me what was it like from your viewpoint to be an alternate in the Tournament of Champions. We'll start
with you, Jess. It was tons of fun. I had a great time, as you know, and anybody who listens to this podcast has heard all of our friends come on and it was a fantastic group of people to get to spend a day with in the Wheel of Fortune Studio, which was our greed holding area for the day. Alice and I saw a lot of
each other's faces all day. We were together for the entire time. Because we were kept sequestered from everybody else, we couldn't watch but the very last game of the first day, once they knew that they didn't need us anymore, and so we got to see everybody fret and fuss and have, you know, go over all of their notes and pace back and forth. And
I was very cool, and I did not want to play. I thought that I had a great run on Jeopardy, better than I could have ever anticipated, and I would have liked to have kept my record as it stood, and did not want any further chance to embarrass myself on television, especially against the caliber of player that was there that week, which was very,
very very high, some real power players. Yeah, Jessica and I actually we're talking about this in the green room, and I was like, I don't know, like I'm having like a little fomo and you basically like said what you just said just now, and I'm like, wow, yes, no, that is a great way of looking at it, and like I'm really happy that you know, you're providing me with that framework that really like got my head on straight. Well, thank you so much for those stories.
Let us get back to the game. We have some unfinished business to attend to. It's seventeen to eleven. Elise is in the lead as we enter our fourth and final round between you two, Round four, the Double Duty. What English philosopher and statesman served as Attorney General and Lord Chancellor under King James the first? Elise? So can I digress a little bit? Please? I saw this story on the internet. Who knows if it's true, but it's a a man whose father said to him, and he was a kid, knowledge is power, Francis Bacon. And he always he was like, France is Bacon? What does that mean? And he like spent his entire childhood like if somebody said to him knowledge is power, he'd be like Francis
Bacon. And they did, Yeah, that's right. So Bacon is edible. I wrote Bacon. It is a great guess. France is Bacon. Jessica, what did you put from them? From I also wrote, Sir Francis Bacon. The correct answer is Sir Francis Bacon. Excellent work. For question number one, the score remains the same two points for each of you. Question number two, the all time a touchdown leader in NFL history. Jessica, did you venture a guess? I WoT wrote down the word Rice

But as soon as she started saying it, I knew exactly what it was. But that doesn't count too A

Question number five, who was the star of these RKO pictures from RKO Studios? The Gate of Divorce, Top Hat and Swing Time? Elise? Okay, I'm gonna tell another story. I got to this. Question number six, Peter Hedges wrote this novel that was turned into a Johnny Depth film and a Leonardo DiCaprio film.

I don't know that answer deserves a spluche The Beach, alas what did you put? I feel like this movie probably has not aged well, but they were still so lovable at this point in time. I want to say it was like ninety four. Oh, now I know what it is? God, Okay, lay it on, take it away, go for it.
What's Eating Gilbert Grape? The correct answer from Peter Hedge's novel is What's Eating Gilbert Grape? I still love that movie. Yeah, I haven't watched it in a while. I don't know if it's it hasn't there. If it's it's it's makes you squirm in anyway, But yeah, I love that movie. Young John c Riley's in that film as well. Question number seven, name of the golden square shaped short red cookie that was introduced back in nineteen twelve, Miss Nussbaum, Laurna Dune. I also wrote Lorna Dune,
and you would both be correct. It's a Lorna Dune. Well done. That's a deep cut, that's a Grandma cookie, Alurna done? That is awesome, well done. Question number eight. This actor portrayed Boromere in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, as well as Eddard ned Stark on Game of Thrones? Can you name that actor? Come up with a duo where both names are edible, and I put in Peaches and Herb, Peaches and Herb or herb. Jessica, I don't even know what I just what did you put for number nine? I can confirm to Elise that it is Peaches in Herb. Thank you. Correct answer is, in fact Peaches and or Herb for a question number nine that gave us those hits from the seventies. All right, we gotta tabulate the final score.
This might take me a while. Hold on. Jessica Babbitt finishes with twenty seven large points with a hell of a double duty radcliff round, my best round where it counts. Yep, great comeback. Elise nus Moomb finishes with thirty three thirty three to twenty seven. It got dicey there at the end. You both did remarkably well in the edible names double duty Radcliff round. So, Elise nus Moomb, you are, in fact the smartest person in the world for one week. Well done, Elise, Thank you.
So Elise nus Mom, you are the smartest person in the world for one week. We are happy to give donations in both of your names. So the game is done between YouTube, but the game is
not over because we still have one final thing, the final throwdown. It is time for the final throwdown. Annie, our producer, will reveal your final throwdown question. I will read it to everyone twice a Lease. You can be the first one to venture a guess. I can either agree with you or go on my own. So Annie, without further ado, please reveal our final throwdown question. Here's your final throwdown question. What is the only US state with a two sided flag? What is the only US state
with a who sided flag? One in fifty chance. I'm thinking from my brain, but at least take your time let me know. When you have an answer, you can talk it through. So I feel like it might be a state that is like, look, I am a state, and I recognize that that I also have my own identity that is independent of that, and I feel like that would point to Hawaii. So I'm gonna guess Hawaii, Hawaii. That's a great guess. I'm going to go somewhere else.
And the only what reason I'm going different is there's a state that's the only non square flag. It's more of like a pennant shape, and that's Ohio has like a non rectangular flag. It's like Nepal has that weird. So I'm only picking that because it's different. Maybe it's more of a pennant and that's why it's two sided. So I'm gonna go Ohio. So we have a midwestern state and then we have Hawai. So Annie reveal the answer, and we're gonna learn a little bit about the right answer. What is
it? What is it the state that has a two sided flag? Here we go, oh I had the first letter, right, it's Oregon. Let's learn about this two sided flag of Oregon. The front shows the state seal and the other side shows the state animal. The beaver did not know this. Paraguay is the only country that still has a two sided flag when it comes to nation flags, So Bataguay and South America and Oregon have something in common. Two sided flags were more common, but they are more expensive
to manufacture, so hence why there's not many of them. So Oregon has a two sided flag. Now we know what a cool question at least nas Bom Jessica Babbitt.
