And that's why I know it because it's my favorite. So I had to ask that, So I hope you both got that. Oh not at all sounded out. Use your phonics on this one. Finally, question number eight our final question in round one, our general knowledge round. Which leader was famously not invited to the Yalta conference in February of nineteen forty five

and the conference was focused on dealing with Germany and post war Europe. Which leader was famously not invited to the Yalta conference in February of nineteen forty five, and that conference was dealing with Germany and post war Europe. That is your final question in this general knowledge round. All right, let's meet our contestants before we get to these answers. Let's meet our contestants. We've been talking to him, We've been gabbing this whole time. Two incredible Jeopardy champions.

I'm so excited to have you both here. First, let's introduce all the way from gross Point, Michigan. He's a choral music teacher. He won the twenty twenty Teachers Tournament and was on just this spring, the Tournament of Champions. And did you guys play against each other in a game? Yeah? He beat me. Oh what a what a rat bastard? He is daily double. It could have been a very very different night for his come up and revenge it's a rematch, it's a grudge match. Um,

all the way from Gross Point, Michigan. Ben Henry is here. Welcome Ben. That's Mike. It's a real pleasure to be on. I'm grateful that you thought to invite me on here and anything that comes with trivia, I'll come, I'll come along. That's awesome. Yeah, I think, I think so Trivia Jeopardy bringing us all back together is all good. And what charity are you playing for today? So the charity that I'm playing for is the Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Network. Obviously a lot of your listeners will know

that pancreatic cancer is what Alex was struggling with into life. It is one of the forms of cancer that has the lowest survival rate once it's diagnosed, and it is also the former cancer that unfortunately took my wife's mom about four years ago. So it was very surreal being on stage with Alex knowing what he was going through, and having been through a similar supportive role or struggle through through my own personal connections and through my mics. So, um,

it's a it's an important cause. Any anytime I have an opportunity to or people nowadays it's it's for Christmas when you're getting together with family and you're like, well, I'm an adult and I can get my own stuff, So, you know, make a donation to such and such in my name, and Pancreatic Cancer Action Network is always one of the first ones. And tastic what's a pleasure to have you here and so glad you're playing for that charity. Um, we're going to have a good time. Let's meet your opponent,

the guy that beat you in the Tournament of Champions. Weirdo Beardo over here all the way from Burbank, California. We're neighbors, Kevin. We need to go have a drink, so sometime soon. Um, what do you What do you do for a living? The story analyst at Ambling Partners Streamworks fantastic Um. He was a producer on the award one of the producers on the award winning twenty ten documentary Marwin Call, which is one of my

favorite documentaries about Mark Hogan. Campum. You were a five game winner on Jeopardy and you were in the recent Tournament of Champions where you beat Ben. Mister Kevin Walsh is here. Thank you, Mike for that very glowing introduction. You're quite cruel to Ben, who doesn't deserve it. Truth, Man, I lost in a good game. You know. It was a good game, one daily double that I had no clue about for sure. So I'm glad you got it. Let me just say that much. And Kevin,

who are you playing? What charity did you pick to play for today? I opted for the American Heart Association for big reasons, primarily because they're They're the main reason that I currently have a fiance. My fiance, Kate was born with the co general party condition, the defect that at acquired to

get surgery when she was two and a half years old. Wow. So yeah, So she spent her whole life with the ramifications of that surgery, and the research that the American Heart Association helps to fund has been integral in keeping her alive and healthy and having a great quality of life. So I would like to give back to that. That's incredible, and we're glad she's

w with you. And we'll talk about that story of how you guys became fiances with each other, because that's got another Jeopardy tie in that some listeners might not know about, which is one of the coolest and cutest things I've seen all year, something that we really needed during this tough time. So Jens, thanks for being here, Thanks for picking these awesome charities. We'll talk a little bit more about the charities and you guys along the way and

our journeys on the show Jeopardy, our favorite show of all time. All right, let's get into some answers in round one our general knowledge Round Question number one was who was the first woman to seek the Democratic nomination for president? I'll start with you, Ben. What did you put for number one? Well, first I said Victoria Woodhall, but that was not the Democratic Party, was some other party. And at that point I blanked because I

thought there must have been someone before Hillary Clinton who was running. So I put Geraldine Ferraro. That's a great guest, Kevin Walsh, what did you put? I had the inverse. First, I thought Jodan Farraro in anything, Well, that wasn't President shy, and then I went to Woodhall and that's where I stuck. All right, party, so we have both. We have Woodhall and we have Geraldine Ferraro. You are both incorrect. Nineteen

seventy two. She was also the first person of color Shirley Chisholm nineteen seventy two. That's a tough one, that's a deep cut. But Shirley Chisholm, Yeah, first woman and black black woman to seek the Democratic nomination for president back in nineteen seventy two. There's a great documentary called Chisholm seventy two that I would recommend. Number two Nicholas Copernicus, nicky cops, that's what I call him. No one calls him that. Nicholas Copernicus, who formulated

the heliocentric model of our universe. Was from what country? Kevin? I went with Poland and Benjamin, what did you put? I also said Poland, you are both correct. You're on the board. One point there. Excellent, you guys are on the board. Breathe easy, all right. Number three I kind of fumbled this one, so I had to changed the question. Former Daily Show correspondent Samantha Bee has her own show on TBS named the title of the show. Ben that's full frontal, Kevin, what did

you put? Full frontal? I added with Samantha b but mainly full front it is full frontal with Samantha by give yourselves a point, full frontal on TBS with Samantha b. She is. She's very smart and hilarious. Question number four it was our literature question. Vronsky is a main character in What Leo Tolstoy Work? Kavin. I threw a dart at this one and hit the Crime and Punishment, Crime and Punishment, Benjamin Henry, what did you

put Count Vronsky? I do believe is from Anna Karenina. The correct answer is Anna Karen No, no, no no. Question number five, what soul music legend had albums titled Talking Book, Innervisions and Music of My Mind? Ben As a little Stevie Wonder Kevin Walsh? What did you put little Stevie Wonder? Steve Land Morris, better known as Stevie Wonder is correct.

That answer deserves a huzzah. Question number six was our sports question named the late great college basketball coach who coached the Tennessee Lady Vaals from nineteen seventy four to two thousand and twelve. Kevin, See what I object you here is you keep coming to me first on the ones that I don't know, I'm just going either or I'm sorry. I have the famous idea, Uh you know, I'm gonna say Jane Wooden. I'm just gonna make up a name.

That's that's a great guest because John is the king of all college basketball coach, So that's great. Jane Wooden is a great guess. Ben Henry, did you have a guess? I believe this is Pat Summit. Pat Summit is your correct answer, Pat Summit, coach of Lady Valls. Yeah. I'm not sure how many titles they want, but it was multiple titles, and they were always in the final four. Question number seven, what is the capital of Burkina? Fosso one of my it's my favorite capital.

Take Gousi. Gulpa is a close second, but this one takes the cake. Ben, what did you put h Uagadoogu? Kevin, did you get Uagadoogu? Oh? Yeah, that was That was very much in the COOC training manual. No kind of Central African capitals or West western Africa Central. It's kind of near there. Yeah, Ouagadoogu, Burkina Fossio. Um. I gotta go there. I have to. That's like another that's like, now that I've reached Jeopardy, my new bucket list is I gotta go stay

in Ouagadoogu, Burkina Fossio. Finally, question number eight, which leader was not invited to the Yalta conference in February of nineteen forty five, and that was the conference focused on dealing with Germany in the post war Europe. Um, we're going to Kevin on this one? Did you know this one? We're going to be because they didn't know it? Um? No, I again, even though I'm almost certainly probably had to be there, But I want to Stalin. You put Stalin Ben? Did you pick Stalin as well?

So? I originally wrote Stalin and I and I cannot remember through Yalta and Potsdam and then wasn't there a third? There was a third one in Casablanca, I think, And I don't know who was at all of them. There's the famous picture of the three of them, but I don't know from which one it was. So I nixed Stalin and I don't even think he was the president of France at this point. But I said de Gall.

The correct answer is Chuck de Gall Charles. Those three were kind of like the mean girls and didn't let Charles come to the cafetorium table that they were sitting at. U. Yeah, at Yalta in Russia. Yeah, Charles de gaul was not there to to carve up Europe and talk about Germany and stuff. So after round one, Ben with seven and Kevin with four, it's a three point game. It's seven to four. After round one,

that's that's a okay. So before we move on to round two, which we'll get in very quickly, I just wanted to know your guys' story of like getting on the show. How long did it take for you guys to finally get on the show, or to get on the teachers tournament or whatnot? How long did it take? So Kevin, we'll start with you. What was your journey like to just make it to the show. One way of looking at it took took years and years and years. The other

way of looking at it, as it happened almost immediately. But when I was a teenager, I tried out to the team tournament and passed the test and got to play a MOP game, and Alex came out and sort of said hid everybody, which he was there was great, did not pass muster after the mop game, didn't get the call, and so years past I just watched the show. Fiance Kate is a huge fan of the show. We watched together, we got back into it. I was like, oh, the t online, Now I can give that a shot. And so

it was last January that it took the test. That was your first time taking the online test. You got holy shit, that's awesome. That is not what I did. No, I gather from now experience that that is an atypical process. I think also, well, I had my follow up and they let me do it on Zoom and then the actual mock gameplay interview was by then we were in lockdown. Yeah, that that interview, and then it was just okay, we'll see if we come back when we come

back. And then I guess about six weeks maybe before we actually started shooting, at a call, they said we're back on and you're in. And I think a lot of that had to do with the fact that I could drink to Sony. To be honest, Yeah, that was that was that was part of it. Are you close? But that's what's so cool. That's a big reason why I want to do these shows is no one really knows these these journeys of any of these players that we get to know and

we like on the show. But then they're gone and you kind of lose touch with what like that you almost made the teen tournament a million years ago, and then you're like just watching the show and you're like, I'll take the test and you get it, and you go on and you win five shows and get on the awesome I'm gonna object slightly to a million years ago that's true. I was gonna say, you know that old Mike Gray, and yes, it's very Yeah, that's that's an incredible story. Ben.

How about you? What was your journey to get on the show? So I started taking the online test probably in twenty ten, twenty eleven or something, and I took it several times. Uh, And I got an email in twenty thirteen to do an in person in Detroit, and I got that and I was in the contestant pool for eighteen months and never heard back. I got put in the contesting pool again in around twenty seventeen. Eighteen months

went by, never heard back. So finally I took the test, the online test again, and it would have been in like April I think of twenty nineteen, give or take. And my wife took the test at the same time and did better than me, and then I got an in person in August, and then I got a call in January of twenty twenty to do the taping at the end of February, two or three weeks before everything

shut down. So you know, all that long, long waited time, and if it had been if the timing had been just a little worse, it may not have happened. So it's very fortunate from all sorts of different sides. Yeah, that's because that's an interesting point is you can take the online test, and I think I think they threw out some numbers when you're when you're at Jeopardy where it's like, you know, a couple hundred thousand people take the test every year, and out of that maybe the four thousand

get the call to take the second battery of tests. So it's already one hundred ninety six thousand plus people like you didn't make it. But we'll talk more about our our our journeys on the show after round two. But let's get to round two, which is your pop culture grab bag. Round two pop culture grab Bag, We're going to the movies for round two, and more specifically, these are movies that have this actress in them. She's one

of my favorites Rosario Dawson. These are Rosario Dawson films. So we're talking from like the mid nineties to current times, movies from that era, so we've all been alive during these movies. She's done. She's done some she's done some deep cuts, but she's also done some blockbusters and whatnot. So we'll see how this goes your your knowledge of Rosario Dawson films. Here we go question number one. In round two, I'll give you the year and

a brief synopsis. You just give me the title of the film. So this one is from nineteen ninety five. I believe this is her very first film. Nineteen ninety five. Harmony Corinne directed this film about a day in the life of a group of teens as they travel around New York City skating, drinking, smoking, and deflowering virgins. That is the IMDb synopsis of

this film. Once again, nineteen ninety five. The director Harmony Corinne directed this film about a day in the life of a group of teens as they travel around New York City skating, drinking, smoking, and deflowering of virgins. That is question number one. Question number two. More recently, twenty nineteen. Remember that, remember for the pandemic, Remember that twenty nineteen.

All right, here is the synopsis. In this sequel, Columbus, Tallahassee, Wichita and Little Rock moved to the American heartland as they face off against evolved zombie, fellow survivors and the growing pains of the snarky makeshift family. So I would need the full title of this sequel sequel to an earlier film twenty nineteen. In this sequel, Columbus, Tallahassee, Wichita and Little Rock moved to the American heartland as they face off against evolved zombies, fellow survivors,

and the growing pains of the snarky makeshift family. For number two. All right, question number three in round two your pop culture grab bag. Rosario Dawson Films. Two thousand and five is the year for number three. This is the film version of the Pulitzer or Pulitzer and Tony Award winning musical about bohemians in the East village of New York City struggling with life, love and aids and the impacts they have on America. Name that film once again.

Two thousand and five. This is the film version of the Pulitzer Pulitzer and Tony Award winning musical Bohemians in the East Village of New York City, Struggling with life, love and aids and the impacts they have on America. That was question number three. Question number four were Almost Halfway Home in the Rosario Dawson Movies Around. Question number four is from twenty ten. Is the

year twenty ten. With an unmanned half mile long freight train barreling toward a city, a veteran engineer and a young conductor race against the clock to prevent a catastrophe. Name that movie twenty ten. With an unmanned half mile long freight train barreling toward a city, a veteran engineer and young conductor race against

the clock to prevent a catastrophe. Question number five. Question number five is from two thousand and two, Cornered by the d EA, Convicted New York, A Lot of New York Questions. New York drug dealer Montgomery Brogan reevaluates his life the twenty four remaining hours before facing a seven year jail term.

In this Spike Lee directed film two thousand and two, Cornered by the d EA, convicted New York drug dealer Montgomery Brogan reevaluates his life in the twenty four remaining hours before facing a seven year jail term in this Spike Lee directed film, Question number six is from two thousand and seven. Two thousand and seven, two separate sets of voluptuous women are stalked at different times by a

scarred stuntman who uses his cars to execute his murderous plans. Once again, from two thousand and seven, two separate sets of voluptuous women are stalked at different times by a scarred stuntman who uses his cars to execute his murderous plans. I just watched this for the first time during lockdown. No hints, no need for this one. Yeah, all right, number seven. We're

moving on to number seven. Another more recent film from twenty seventeen. Twenty seventeen, A Cooler than Ever. Bruce Wayne, voiced by Will Arnette, must deal with the Unusual Suspect the Usual Suspects as they planned to rule Gotham City, while discovering that he has accidentally adopted a teenage orphan who wishes to become his sidekick. I need the full title for that one. Twenty seventeen

a Cooler than ever. Bruce Wayne voiced by Will Arnett, must deal with the usual suspects as they planned to rule Gotham City, while discovering that he has accidentally adopted a teenage orphan who wishes to become his sidekick. We good on Numero siete thumbs up. Yes, Kevin's gave kind of a sort of thumbs up, kind of a A csc mah. We'll see question number eight your final question in this the pop culture grap bag Rosario Dawson Films is from

two thousand and five. Two thousand and five an exploration of the dark and miserable Basin City and three of its residents, all of whom are caught up in violent corruption in this Noirish crime thriller co directed by Frank Miller, Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino. Name that film from two thousand and five, an exploration of the dark and miserable Basin City and three of its residents, all of whom are caught up in violent corruption in this Noirish crime thriller co directed

by Frank Miller, Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino. Do you need any repeats from those eight questions. I don't think anything's gonna help me. I feel like I did pretty well. I feel like I did pretty well if I'm being honest. That's good. That's good, because yeah, this was not I don't think this was impossible, but I don't know I did better. All right, Let's go through our answers for round two. Rosario Dawson and

Films Number one, nineteen ninety five. Harmony Krin directed this film by the Day in the Life of a group of teens in New York City doing a bunch of terrible things. Kevin, what did you put for number one? Kids? Benjamin Henry? What did you put? That? Is also what I put? It is correct, kids. I saw that in college. Was disturbed but enthralled at the same time. Very Harmony Korean right there.

Yeah, totally groundbreak. I was just like, I feel, I feel kind of bad and dirty watching this, but incredible Chloe Savini seeing her for the very first time in a film, too, Rosario Dawson, kind of incredible, kids? Is your answer for number one? Question? Number two? Twenty nineteen. In the sequel Columbus, Tallahassee, Wichita and Little Rock moved to the American Heartland as they face off against evolved zombies. Blah blah blah blah blah, Ben, what did you put for number two? So,

I don't know how nitpicky you're going to be on exact wording. I don't know if there's a two in the title, but I put zombieland double tap and Kevin, what did you put for number two? I put the two in the title, So I don't know if it's a I'm gonna I'm gonna give it to you. I'm gonna give it to you if you put it or didn't put it. I think that's fine because you guys got the title zombieland double Tap. But if you put it two in there, I'm

not going to cut against that. I'm not going to be like Judges. No, we're playing for charity, win or lose, it doesn't matter. It's just I'm playing for pride and revenge, playing for keeps. Yeah. Question number three was from two thousand and five. This film a version of Bohemians in the East Village of New York City, struggling with all those predicaments. Kevin, what did you put for number three? Yeah? That was Rent, Ben, what did you you got this? Please say you got

this? So this is this is Rent Rant? Is your answer? Number four was from twenty ten that freight train headed for that city. Chris Pine and Denzel Washington are trying to get it to stop. What are you gonna do? Ben? What did you come up with for that one word title? For number four? I'm pretty sure this is unstoppable? Kevin? What did you put? I think Ben's right, but I was like, I had like runaway or something. I knew it was Tony Scotts last film,

wasn't I don't know. I think you might be right. We'll have Annie looked that up. Was that Tony Scott's last film? The correct answer is unstoppable? Unstoppable? Question number five from two thousand and two, cornered by the DA convicted New York regular Montgomery Brogan, who's played by Ed Norton. He was the protagonist in this film that we were looking for, the Spike

Lee film. Kevin, what did you put for number five? I do not know this one, so I don't even think this is a Spike Lee film that I guess, but I just put where the Devil Knows You're dead? Trying to think of crime film. That's a great guests because Philip Seymour Hoffman was in that film. Ben, what did you put so I think you may put a little hint in there twenty four hour because I think this film is called the twenty fifth Hour. That is correct, twenty fifth Hour.

Spikeley did not write it, but he did direct that film, which I had no idea. But when you when you mentioned those other actors, and I've never seen it, but I was like, I think that's the one with that Norton. It came around the same time as twenty one Grams and Blow and some of those other heavy drug correct, yeah, because that

came out, yeah, in two thousand and two. There's a scene in the movie where one of them lives in a high rise in New York City and it's overlooking ground zero, like you see like ground zero they use in the film because that's like a time sets the time right there where they're at.

But I bought I bought a cool hand loop poster, which is one of my favorite things I own in my home based on there's a poster at Ed Norton and Rosario Dawson's apartment that's the coolest cool hand Loo poster I'd ever seen, So I was like, I must own that, thank you. Twenty fifth hour question number six from two thousand and seven. Two separate sets of sets of voluptuous women are stalked at different times a scarred stuntman, Ben, who is who? What is that? So the stuntman I believe was

played by Kurt Russell? And that's death Proof? Kevin? Did you get death proof man? Mike right? Deathly? Yeah? Make death Proof. It was part of that twin Build Grindhouse feature with plant? Was it Planet Terror was the other one? Terror? Yeah? Death Proof is your answer for round six. Question number seven was from twenty seventeen to Cooler Than Ever Bruce Wayne voice by Will Arnett. Can you give me this movie title? Kevin? I feel like there's a subtitle here that I'm missing, But so

I just went with Lego Batman? Ben? Would you put? I said, Lego Batman movie? It is the Lego Batman movie. I will give you both, the point being very lenient. I'm not charging for me twos or movie. It's like we got it's Lego Batman, the Lego Batman Movie. Question number eight your final question two thousand and five, an exploration of the dark and miserable Basin City. This was shot in black and white, looked like a comic book. Ben, what did you put for number eight?

Well, when you said Basin City, I was like, all right, then, so this is sin City. That is the correct answer, Kevin, did you get Sin City? I hope? Oh yeah, I have. I have some Frank Miller print stuff on my wall in my round. Awesome. I was going to say, you own the graphic novel that Frank Miller wrote, that it's based off of Sin City is correct. So let's get your scores after around two, Kevin, you've gotten six? Ben,

did you get them? I did goodness for the twenty fifth hour, and I was on an Ed Norton kick at that point in my life, even though I never saw it. Nice. So we gotta I forgot to update our scoreboard. How how okay? Well? Ben's got fifteen, you're doing blue and Ka Boogie's got ten. You're already at double digits. Don't feel bad. It's fifteen to ten. We're at halftime. We're at halftime of you should know better with Mike's Nelson, that's me. We're playing with

two former Jeopardy Jeopardy champions, Kevin Walsh and Ben Henry. So, yeah, when you guys were on the show, you guys actually got to play with our dear departed Alex Trebek. So do you guys have any stories of just what it was like to to meet Alex and then and play your games with him on our favorite show. It's strange you don't see him until the show begins because he gets he gets paid too much to be out there for

dress rehearsals. But we did get the great privilege of doing some promotional things with him before the episodes began, so, you know, a couple of photographs with him and things like that, and that was that was really special, consummate professional. And one of the things that your listeners might not know is that if you ever go to a taping of Jeopardy or went to a taping, he would answer audience questions during commercials and he was always so gracious

and had a great sense of humor. You know, a couple of people said, what should we name our dog? You know, and you know other people say, what do you think the the Canucks chances are this year? Or whatever the case may be. And you know, some clearly trying to cater to his Canadian sensibilities, but he had infinite patience. I just count myself very fortunate to have been able to shake his hand and share the stage with him. Fantastic, Kevin. Do you have any stories from from

meeting the man? The myth and legend? Just three moments stuck with me because people might not know as well. When the game's over, he has that little chat that you see over the credits and then they're like okay, cut and then he's gone. He just turns to and he's just and that's by design because he's not supposed to fright or eyes outside of the game and everything like that, but it is a little disconcerting. So there was one moment, and we didn't have an audience, so there was no banter with

him during the commercials right like that. He would just do his pickups and that was it. But I do recall I was very happy during one interview where I elicited what felt like a genuine chuckle from him, and so I was like, that's a bucket list item. I got out laugh. Yes, I made Alixtra Beck laugh. I got a Canadian geography question wrong,

and so I got to endure that the wrath the rath. And then there was a moment and I like my third or fourth game and we were doing final Jeopardy and I had to rewrite my wager because it was my penmanship was poor. And he was at it. He was at his he was at his lectern. He didn't even look up. He just said, come on, Kevin, you've been here before. And oh, that's so great. Piteously made me feel about this big, but also made me feel awesome because

I'm like, yeah, we've got banter now. He knows, he knows I can take it right, buddy, Right, pal Alex, you're best friends now. So it was really special, awesome. Thanks for those stories, gents. Well, we'll talk a little bit more of our Jeopardy journeys as we get going. But now it's time for the Lightning round round three. The Lightning round round three, which is a little bit different. Yeah, sound effects, thunderbolts, thunderclaps, lightning bolts, all that jazz.

We'll add that. Well, fix it in post again, Like you guys aren't gonna know what the hell these are all about until we just until I Sam, So this is the Lightning Round. It goes by very quick, but it's just using a different part of our brains to see, like how quick our recall is, because it's very easy to just hear the question and be like, oh man, and there's five seconds gone. All right. So the wide range of categories, so I hope these I hope you guys

pick good categories that you guys can have some fun with. So we're gonna have our Kevin's gonna go first. He's down fifteen to ten heading into round three, the Lightning Round. You can choose from these three girl groups. Again, they don't have anything to do with the question or the answers, but you can pick between three of my favorite girl groups TLC and Vogue or Destiny's Child TLC and Vogue or Destiny's Child. Well we gotta go, s

Beyonce. Right, let's do Destiny's Child. All right, You're gonna do Destiny's Child. So Ben, you need to pay attention because you're gonna get your five second rebuttal like right after Kevin goes for twenty seconds, I'm gonna I'm gonna say this question twice, your question twice and then say the word go and then hit start and then you'll have twenty seconds after that. So your category. Kevin, here we go. Clear your mind, take a

deep breath. I need for you to name the twelve disciples of Jesus Christ. Name the names of the twelve Disciples of Jesus Christ. Go Simon, Peter, Paul, Timothy, Oh jeez, Judas Iscariot, um uh Andrew, oh boy um. You know I memorized these at one point. There are two uh they're either two Simon's or two Peters. Stop. You got

at least four of them. I think you got Peter, Andrew, Judas, Iscariot, and Simon the Zellott. All right, I'm coming to you for your five second orbuttal Benjamin and go Thomas, James, the Greater James, the Lesser John, Timothy, Bartholome, you Thadty. You got the two James is for sure, you got Thaddeus. You got Thomas. That was really quick. I was trying to think of all did you write him down? We'll go, I said, Bartholomew. Yeah, Bartholomew or Nathaniel.

You could hear there's a couple of those that like they had two names. So it's like Bartholomew or Nathaniel, James the lesser or younger Jude or Thaddeus. You got Thaddius, So you got three? You got at least five. Did you say Philip? I did not say Philip. Would you say Matthew that's one of my brothers, and say math not one of your close brothers. Oh, I'm kidding. I'm kidding, although he is. There's a twelve year age difference between the two of us. Would you say

John, I said John, but Ken I couldn't. I was. It was very quick. Don't get so good. I can't even see what I wrote. Probably not. You can go to the tape. Yeah, we'll have to go to the tape. I think we got at least ten out of the twelve. We didn't get Philip. And then did someone say Matthew or Levi okay, I think that one. Yeah, that was a tough one too. So Philip and Matthew LEVI I don't think we got so. I think Ben you got six and Kevin you got four in the twelve Disciples

of Jesus Christ. Amen. That's over right. Oh my god, I think the wrong category. Um, all right, So Ben, it's your turn in the barrel twenty seconds on the clock for you. You could take TLC or end voke TLC. Should I free my mind or should I chase waterfalls? I think I'm gonna being as this is a trivia podcast, I'm gonna free my mind and the rest will follow. Oh, this is a great one. I like this one. You might hate me, but I

think this will see an interesting question. So Kevin, be on the ready for your rebuttal, I need you to name the twelve US presidents that had facial hair. The twelve US presidents that had some sort of facial hair. A go, Grant, Hayes, Harrison, Garfield, Cleveland, Roosevelt, Theodore Roosevelt, h Harrison. I said you Kennon Van Buren, Adams, No, Johnson McKinley, No, he didn't. Taft. I thinks you got Taft under the wire. You got four or five? Six? You

got seven out of the twelve. Well you got John Quincy, Adams, Rothford, B. Hayes, James A. Garfield, Grover, Cleveland, Benjamin and Harrison, Teddy, Roosevelt, and Taft. Did say, Grant, that was the first one I saw. Did say, Grant? You have eight? Um? All right? So you have your five second or buttle Kevin twelve presents said had facial hair. Go who knows? Still more, pierced h Harrison, h Coolidge, Hoover stop, any of those have

fair I don't believe. So I missed Chester Arthur. That's facial hair. Chester A. Arthur had some facial hair. Um, did you guys? Either of you guys say Lincoln No, that answer deserves a spluche. That's that's why I love the Lightning Round. I love the Lightning Round because of that. Yeah, one of you guys got Benjamin Harrison, right, Yeah, I went through the Gilded Age almost in order. Okay, so yeah, I think ben got it first, but I think you said it.

So I almost wanted to give Kevin Benjamin Harrison. But yeah, like the Lightning Round again, you're like you're thinking of all these deep cuts. You're like, oh, um, the other ones we didn't get. I don't believe was Martin van Buren. I said, maybe I didn't. I thought, I said Ben Buren. I don't know if you said it again. This is tough to gauge because it was so quick. And Zachary Taylor Old

Ruffin Sady has some head, some head, some choppage. So we'll just we'll just go with that because you did great Ben in that that round you got you got eight of them. But yeah, Abraham again, it's so weird that like that happens all the time, where you get all excited and you're like, oh, I forgot George Washington, I forgot I forgot the obvious ones, I forgot the big one. So we're updating the score here, Ben, holy smokes in the lightning round. That was a hell of

a lightning round. I got lucky. It's a president's thing again. Four team, we're up to twenty nine points. That dude, that's impressive. Ben. You're really showing off. This is a grudge match. You are really like exacting Revengean sorry, I wasn't gonna say anything else after I said it like four times, Like all right, you're beating a dead horse here is really piling on this port. I just keep thinking about your brother spitefully going on Jeopardy just to be like, it's not so hard. How is

it that you haven't been done? It will say, Kevin's memorabilia room far out strips anything I could ever hope to have in my life. It's incredible, all right. That was the crazy nutty Cuckoo where we forgot about honest Abe who for the umpteenth time I just read today he was. They do that every twenty years. They judge all the presidents and ray who's the best and who's the worst. And Abe took the prize again number one for like eighty years run or whatever. Um, guys, we're here with Kevin Walsh

and Henry. They're both former Jeopardy champions that are joining us here on you should know better playing for we got the American Heart Association. Kevin's playing for Very Near and Dear to his Heart and Ben Henry is playing for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, both incredible charities. Were very lucky to have you both

here with us. What has happened since your guys run, Because you guys had different runs than most Jeopardy contestants where you got to be on Ben, you were in two tournaments and Kevin you had a nice five day run followed by the Tournament of Champions and like talk about you know what what's happened since then? And like the camaraderie of this last Tournament of Champions just seemed like it was there was something special about this last group of contestants where you guys

have become very close. If you guys want to tell some stories about that. I called Ben our champ counselor because when we were at the tournament and everybody who's in the staged in the Wheel Fortune audience area, Ben was one who carry came to the forefront in terms of bonding group and the icebreakers and so as the over the course of the you know, the four days or so, that really facilitated feeling like a group, like a co wort,

as opposed to something super competitive and antagonistic. I regretted in my initial run. And you have this experience too, I'm sure, Mike, since we shot during COVID when that was tougher. Yeah, you couldn't. You couldn't really mix and mingle with the contestancy. So that was something I was really hoping to experience with the tournament, and it happened in a way that I

beyond my wildest dreams. Um, it's just a really great group of folks, the alternates as well, everybody who's just super cool and so it's it's really been the second best thing to come out of Jeopardy for me easily. Yeah, yeah, we'll get We'll get to that very best thing, uh, in a little bit, because that's that's that's a that's a topper.

Well we'll end with that because that's such a beautiful story, Ben, Do you have any stories from the Teachers Tournament or the Tournament of Champions that you'd like to talk about? Much the same Immediately when we all got together, we had this thing in common, right, we're all teachers, and Jeopardy is also in itself a bonding experience of going through the show itself is kind of traumatic, right. You know, you're talking about high stakes, the

potential to win lots of money, lose lots of money. It's in a way, it's kind of like gambling, but you know, with a little bit sort of a different mechanics in place, and it can really most people who play, most former contestants I've talked to, they remember more of the wrong answers they got than they do the correct answers. And that's coming from multi day champions, right, And we're sort of programmed to think about the

negative things around it. And I want to give credit to Lauren Schneider Lipton, who was one of the contestants in the Teacher Tournament, who was really proactive about making sure that we put a Facebook group together and got our numbers together as many of us as possible. And I just took that model and

rolled with it for the tournament and champions again. You immediately have something in common with all the people they are a love of knowledge, a love of learning, a curiosity, a hunger for it, the Socrates thing of the I know I'm the wisest man because I know that I know nothing. So that quest for knowledge, I think, is also a thing that ties us together. And it's just really easy to keep in touch with everyone because because

of those commonalities. Yeah, it was cool to follow you guys on social media, and that's how I just kind of I didn't know of this whole fraternity or alumnis association that happens to Jeopardy until I was done. And then someone invited me to the Facebook group and I was following to certain people had befriended me, and I started befriending other people and just to follow you guys, and seeing like, you know, the group meals you know that you

guys had because it was still doing a pandemic. But like, you guys were just going out and eating at picnic tables together, and it was like, what a cool thing because you're all from different parts of the country and you're all staying at the hotel rooms and stuff. But that you guys found time to bond right there. I was like, man, that's awesome. That's that's what Jeopardy is all about. And again I reached out to a handful of you. So some of your friends are are geared up to match

up against each other very very soon too. So I'm excited to hopefully get the whole, the whole cast of characters back together on these one on ones in the very near future. So again, thanks for thanks for being here and sharing those stories. And yeah, I think it's just so cool. I'm just I'm geeking out on all this jeopardydom that we're talking about that doesn't

talked about enough. All right, So after I think our judges have updated score, it's still a bloodbath right now, twenty nine to fifteen in favor of Ben Henry going into our final round, the Theodore Double Duty Radcliff round where points are doubled. Round four the Double Duty and instead of eight questions, there's always nine questions, so there's eighteen points on the board. So we're gonna need Ben to not know anything about this next category and Kevin needs

to just run the table. This is all Marvel and d see comic books, right, yea yeah, looking from what's on your wall, it's all Marble versus DC. That is the category. Okay, No, that would be great. No. The category for your final rounds of the Theodore Double Duty Radcliff Round where points are doubled is US Geography. There are nine questions that kind of run the ganbent of US geography. Are you ready? Yes,

sir? Tough shit. Here we go. Question number one in your final round, what is the fourth largest state in size in area with the square mileage of over one hundred and forty seven thousand square miles? Not one, two, or three? But what is the fourth largest US state? That is question number one. I'll give you a few seconds to think about

that one again. Question number one, US geography. What is the fourth largest state in size coming in around one hundred and forty seven thousand plus square mile The question numeral those Question number two, what city is the home of the Negro League Hall of Fame. We all know Cooperstown, New York is the home of the Baseball Hall of Fame. But there is a Negro League Hall of Fame that I want to go to very soon. What city is that in? That was question number two. Question number three in your US

Geography final round. Mount Saint Helens, which literally blew its top on May eighteenth, nineteen eighty is part of what mountain range? Mount Saint Helens is part of what mountain range in the Pacific Northwest? Mount Saint Helens, which literally blew its top on May eighteenth, nineteen eighty I was forty one years ago, yikes, is part of what mountain range? That is question number three. Number four. We're moving right along question number four. Mammoth Cave

is in? What state? In the state that Mammoth Cave resides in? For question number four, Question number five is a state capital question. State capitals? We know most of those, right, I hope. What is the capital of the New England state of New Hampshire. What is New Hampshire's capital city? Maybe a little lesser known than most the capital city of New Hampshire For number five, Question number six, what is the smallest of the Great Lakes in terms of surface area? In terms of surface area, what

is the smallest of those great lakes? Question number seven? What wyoming beaute? Is featured in the film Close Encounters of the Third Kind? What wyoming beaute? Don't hear that a lot is featured in the film Close Counters of the Third Kind? For number seven? All right? Final two questions in your final round Head to head Ben Henry versus Kevin Walsh. Question number eight, Name the three rivers that meet up in Pittsburgh, PA. Pittsburgh,

Pennsylvania, the famous Three Rivers Stadium of Pittsburgh where the Pirates played. Name those three rivers. I need all three of them for you to get the two points for number eight. Again, spelling does not count against you. A question number nine, The most populous of the Clark Counties is in what state? There's a number of Clark counties in a number of states, But I want to know what is the most populous Clark County? What state is

that in? For number nine? Your final question in round four US geography was your category in the double Duty Radcliffe round? All right? This is that Kevin, make the greatest comeback. Probably not all right, guys, Let's go over your answers and the US geography round here. Question number one was what is the fourth largest state in size at one hundred and forty seven thousand plus square miles? Ben, what did you put for number one?

That's Montana? Kevin? What did you put from number one? I also put Montana. The correct answer is Hannah, Montana. You both get the two points. It is Montana for question number one. Question number two is what the city is the home of the Negro League Hall of Fame? Kevin, do you have a guess? It is a guess. It's a completely wild guest. I just went with Atlanta, Atlanta, great guest, Ben, what did you put? Great minds think alike? My guess is,

as you are both incorrect, I want to go to this place. The Negro League Baseball Hall of Fame is located known for their barbecue. Kansas City. Kansas City, here I come. Question number three. Mount Saint Helens blew its top in nineteen eighty and is part of what mountain range? Ben? I believe this is the Cascades. Kevin, what did you put? That's my answer as well. The Cascades You're both corrected. Is the Cascade Range and the Pacific north Ust Question number four, Mammoth Cave is in what

state? Kevin? You know? I should I've heard this before. I guess Kentucky. Ben, What did you put? It is Kentucky? It is the Bluegrass State, Kentucky, Bourbon and Caves. Question number five? What is the capital of New Hampshire? Mister Henry Conquered? Kevin Walsh? What did you put? Well, my fiance is from New Hampshire, so if I got this wrong, I wouldn't have a fiance anymore. Probably. I also put conquered named after those that grape jelly. Concorde delicious is the

correct answer? Concord, New Hampshire the capital city. Question number six, what is the smallest of the Great Lakes in terms of surface area? Kevin Well, unlike some people on this podcast, I don't live near the Great Lake Great Lakes burd Bank. I had to kind of trying to conjure mental image. I went with Erie Erie is your guests? Ben? What did you put Ontario? The correct answer is Lake Ontario. Question number seven,

I think you both had this in your wheelhoe wheelhouse. What Wyoming Butte is featured in Close Encounters of the Third kind. Ben, this is Devil's Tower, Kevin Walsh. Did you get Devil's Tower. Yeah, my my fortieth anniversary Close Encounters poster is just over there tower. Where would it rank? Is it in your top ten films of all time? Close Encounters? Oh? That's top top twenty five to twenty five easily get okay, top twenty five, easily is in there? Okay, Close Encounters twenty okay, top

twenty Close Encounters. It is Devil's Tower. Question number eight. Name the three rivers that meet up in Pittsburgh PAA steel City the terrible towels, Kevin Walsh. I went the Delaware of the Monogahela in the Susquehanna, Ben, what did you put for the three rivers? I had the Ohio, the Alleghany, and the Mononghela. Now a wagadoogu, but fairly close sounding to

those. We have the Ohio, the Alleghany, and the Monongahela. The Ohio, the Alleghany and the Monongahela all converge and meet right there at that crux of the beautiful city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Question number nine, our final question, the most populous Clark County in the United States is located in what state? Ben? I said, Nevada. Kevin, what did you put for number nine? I put Illinois. The correct answer is Nevada.

That is Las Vegas's big county. So every time there's an election, they're always like, we're waiting for Clark County to come in. It is Nevada, folks. We're doing the tabulations. Ben with a very impressive win. You are You are, without a doubt, the smartest person in the world for one week. Ben Henry beats Kevin Walsh in their grudge match. Their rematch. Well played, both of you. That was super fun. So the show's not over. The game between you guys is over. We're gonna

give to your charities anyways. Pancreatic Cancer Action Network and American Hardesty Association. That's easy for me to say, are both getting donations from you should know better. So thanks for bringing those great charities to the floor tonight. I want to get to this story though, before we get to the final throwdown. We're gonna take a little break because Kevin has a great story that of how his Jeopardy Tournament of Champions ended in maybe the coolest fashion. Some of

you might know this story, but some of you don't. So Kevin takeaway what happened at the tail end of your journey on Jeopardy. Well, this is something that I was hoping to do the first time I was on Jeopardy, I was hoping to find some way to do this, and the moment never really presented itself. But when I lost in the semi final of the tournament champions, I said, I'm never gonna have another chance to do this.

So as I was leaving the stage, I asked the content, the contestant coordinator, the test producer, their Koeena, if I could possibly use the stage and just record a proposal to my girlfriend, like just take my phone and just recorded them as well, And she talked to the powers that be while they were recording the next semifinal and got back to me during one

of commercial breaks and said, okay, we're going to do it. So when we broke for lunch and they recorded a winner Circle interview with Jennifer who just won her semifinal, and then everybody else want to lunch, and I

stayed behind. They brought me up. They took me to the mark where the host stands for Final Jeopardy, they put up on the board as the category the final question, and I I got to propose to my girlfriend at the time, and then came a month of keeping it from her, trying to arrange a zoom watch of the episode with both of our parents, who

I clued into what was going to happen. I had to enlist Ben and the other members of the tournament cohort who knew the score that for two things, Hey, we were doing kind of zoom trivia and I'm like, please, everybody just be aware that Kate doesn't know. And b since Jeopardy wanted reaction footage, I had to spin a whole lie about they asked us all to record watch party footage, and so I asked everybody, I said,

it comes up, just validate that story's great. And then I had an awkward situation where I was able to tell our folks that was going to happen, but I was not able to divulge any of the results of the tournament. So as far as they knew, it was going to happen at the quarterfinal game. But because of the nature of the video where I give away

that I'm at at the tournament. Jeopardy released the video until the next week, so I couldn't do it that night, and so there was a very awkward end to that evening where I was basically like, well see next week, I guess, and the Terns were like, okay. I thought there was going to be a proposal anyway, though. It was an awkward four days, but we managed to get to Tuesday and she was genuinely surprised and she said, what is Yes, she answered in the form of a question

like a true Jeopardy lover Jeopardy nerd. So for Jeopardy to allow her to kind of be a part of the show in that way very special to do both of us. You gotta get her. I'm working on it. Yeah,

she's next, She's got to get on the show. But yeah, again, like I hope this is just the start of more of this, and again I want to get Like Jimmy and Sarah from the Clue Crew, I think it would be really great to have that on to tell their tale of having the coolest job for the last twenty years of traveling the globe and being with Alex that much, and Johnny Gilbert and the crew, and yeah, just so that they we can see them outside of you know, them

just telling us you know what a Bunsen burner is or you know the Bavarian chocolate they're eating part too. Are just two awesome people. There's like everybody they're a Jeffrey as you mentioned, it is very cool, but Jimmy and Sarah you know, handling the contestants in between, and kind of incredible. They're just amazing people. Yeah, really really supportive and warm and nice.

Then again, yeah, that that place is a well oiled machine, but they have just incredible, gracious, lovely people that make it an even better experience than you expect, and your expectations are through the roof. So all right, we're not done with the show. We still have the final Throwdown. The Final Throwdown. This is where me and Ben go head to head now on a producer's question. Our producer Annie has come up with a one

off question. It could be anything, it could be totally bs where we both don't get it, we both get it right, one of us gets it right. It's just a fun little thing where I get to play at one time during this whole thing. So this is the final Throwdown. Me against Tournament of Champions Alumni and teachers Tournament champion Ben Henry. So Annie's gonna share her screen and Ben, you get first dibbs since you're our guests. So we'll see if we can get this up here. All right, here

is the question. I will say it. I'll read it to you, Benjamin, for all of our listeners at home. Who was the first female to win multiple Grammy Awards? Who was the first female to win multiple Grammy Awards? Can I ask for clarification? Sure? Is this in the same awards ceremony or over the course of their career, like they won multiple in the same night, or they won multiples over the course of their career? The first female to win multiple awards on the same night at the Grammys.

All right, so, I you know, I'm gonna I'm gonna go away from my first instinct and I'm gonna go and I'm gonna say Whitney Houston. Whitney Houston, the first woman to win multiple Grammys on the same night. I'm gonna go. I'm gonna go just way off the beaten path. I'm gonna go a lot earlier. I don't know why I'm doing this, I don't know what I'm thinking, but I'm gonna go with Ella Fitzgerald. That was one of the ones I was thinking, Ella Fitzgerald, I'm gonna go

with. So she Annie's gonna reveal her answer. We have, the correct answer is Ella Fitzgerald. Ben, You're still the smartest man in the world for one week, but I beat you in the so I got I got a little little street cred for forgetting that one right. It is good for you. The first Lady of Song, Ella Fitzgerald. So here's some tidbits about miss Ella, the Queen of scat too. The first Grammys took place in nineteen fifty eight, which Fitzgerald won Best Vocal Performance Female and Best Jazz

Performance Individual. Overall, she won a total of thirteen Grammys over her career. She is the first woman to receive Grammy's Lifetime Achievement Award. I did not know that. And additionally, she was the first woman to perform at the Grammys in nineteen fifty nine. So Ella did all the stuff at the Grammys. So now we know that going forward, if there's a female Grammy's question, we're all gonna know that Alla Fitzgerald is a great. Guess.

Well, Kevin, I'm curious what would you have said? Were you thinking a third person or one of the ones we chose? I was, but it was wrong. I was. I was going to throw it into James. Oh that is a James. That's another name that pumped in my head. That's a good one. Yeah, I didn't know what I thought. Maybe Billy Holliday, and then I thought made Dolly Parton. But then I was like country music. I happened at the first award ceremony. Yeah, they did get it right, I guess from the start. Yeah, they

got it right right away. Shame on me for not having more faith in the Grammys again, guys, Ben Henry having Walsh Um, we're we're going to make some donations to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network for Alex Trebek in memory of our dear departed friend Alex Trebeck in the American Heart Association. It couldn't have been more fun having you guys here. I hope, well we'll have you back and have more Jeopardy champs come back. But this was just a

thrill. So thanks so much for being here. Thank you, Mike. I was having such a good day today and I really needed to be brought back down to earth. So thank you, thank you for kee beating me out. Yeah, yep, you were on your high horse coming into this, and I really was. I was talking a lot of trash. No, it was great. I hope you had fun, and I hope you guys would would would would come back if you had enough enough fun. So yeah, absolutely, yeah, this was a lot of fun. I want
