Speaker 2: Because I've had the opportunity
Speaker 1: To make more decisions that I have never made before. maybe because I just wasn't aware of them or I just didn't have the opportunity to do them. And I just think that's so interesting for us because there's, that's probably not just myself. I can see it in my friends and family, certain decisions that we got to make, maybe because there's more freedom, or freedom in the sense of options, where you are home and you can choose to do kind of what you want to do if you're working from home, but anywhere where I'm getting at is the quiet time created more uncomfortable freedom. And that's what I mean by freedom
Speaker 2: Is I had,
Speaker 1: Did it make some decisions on, okay, what am I going to do inside my business What are some new habits I'm going to create If I'm going to have to be home all the time, I'm building that morning routine, building that nightly routine. you know, so one thing for me has been every single night, right after I charged my phone, I put it away. I pick up a book and I start reading. and I like to get at least one chapter out of the way. I've been a bit pretty good reader before my, life after school. But, one thing that I've really picked up is yeah, that, that one habit, and there's a book that I've been reading called atomic habits, where it's talking about building habits on top of habits and, and kind of the psychology of it. So I've been using those in the morning and at night.
Speaker 1: And if you were to ask my mom, she'd, she's been telling me to, to kind of put some of this stuff together for years now, because I've been working for myself or building a side hustle or whatever that looks like for years. and now I've had the opportunity to work for myself for a couple of years now. And, it's been critical, you know, it's, it's huge for you to be able to build that, that discipline for a home based business. so anyway, going back to my point, is that more quiet time that that I've had because of COVID has created what I call uncomfortable freedom, because you have the opportunity to create something, that you may have always wanted to, but you didn't have the time to, and now we kind of have somewhat more time because of the environment we live in.
Speaker 1: It's been huge for me. and I'm curious if that's been huge for you and if it has, I mean, drop, drop that in the comments and shoot me a message. I'm curious what that is, because, I'm just curious if, if I'm the only one doing that, but another thing that, I've obviously been learning too, is just to hone in on my crafts. And for me, it's, it's been digital marketing. it's been kind of this online world that I've been working on for a long time and kind of creating some different value in the marketplace with online guides, podcasts like this, starting to get more into this board and creating more Mar you know, value is my goal. So I know this isn't just for me, I can see to my sister and, and what she's been doing both.
Speaker 1: I have two, two sisters. So one of them working with her blog, one of them working with her fashion and kind of her career and where she wants to go. and I could even see it in my parents, you know, my dad's working on his guitar and, he's, he is doing so freaking good. It's awesome to see he's been, he's had more time to play the guitar and learn the guitar. So I think another thing that COVID has helped, is, is yeah, honing in on those crafts or those passion projects that we've kind of neglected for a long time, which is super cool. but also on the complete flip side, one thing that COVID, it's helped me in building this immunity, I would say from all the noise and stuff, and just, just overall building me up during this crazy time has been asking myself the question, what am I running away from
Speaker 1: What is it that I am pushing myself away from Or, or what am I doing to stop myself from achieving a certain goal I know that may not sound very clear, but I'll put it in perspective. What I started to realize recently, which is kind of my inspiration for today and doing this podcast, with no guest is, I noticed that I was running away from certain things in my life. I believe we all have advice. Some it's alcohol, some it's, you know, maybe smoking, some a, could be watching TV. Some of it for some people it's food or gambling or whatever it is. I believe that we all go to something for entertainment. We also go to something for, you know, a bit of checking out. and for me it was actually kind of travel. I take every opportunity I could to travel, and I'm not saying I am, you know, I shouldn't have made those decisions because those decisions have helped me a ton, but I'm at least recognizing that some of those decisions probably weren't the best because I could have said no and worked on what I've been pushing my weight myself away from, which is my business, or the future of the business, and honing in on those skills.
Speaker 1: And a lot of the things that I just kind of talked about where I'm learning it here in the pandemic and being able to spend more time and focus on those, those aspects of my life. So anyway, those are just threesome, some three points that I've kind of thought I thought down and I jot them down. And I wanted to kind of share it with you because I'm super curious if, if, this relates to you. but I'm also curious, what's kind of going on in your world. Do you know, is this something that, that you're starting to notice Are you diving deeper into your own psyche and, and looking into the mirror and asking yourself, what have I been running away from and what do I need to work on Because for me, it's been a huge, huge opportunity to do so. And I'm stepping out of my comfort zone a bit and do stuff like, you know, like this, putting myself out in public, but it's because I know what my goal is to which is to help serve way more people, which is my goal for this.
Speaker 1: So something else I kind of wanted, to kind of jot in there too, is crazy times develop crazy faith. And for me, that's, that's like, exactly what's been going on. not only I haven't been having opportunity to grow myself personally, but also grow my faith. because again, it is crazy times. I dunno about you, but I do see some crazy things going on in the world from, you know, sex trafficking and human trafficking, to obviously everything going on in politics, whether you are, you know, whatever side you, you claim, it doesn't matter. It's just regardless, you're seeing a lot of noise. You're seeing a lot of things that are put in our face that, you know, can make you upset, can make you angry, can make you, you know, just emotional and, how are you, you know, take taking a step back, to, to kind of be aware of it.
Speaker 1: and for me, it's stepping into my faith and knowing that regardless of how fearful I can be in the economy or with business, or, you know, uncertainty of the future of where this business is gonna go, or when travel is going, gonna open up again and, you know, whatever that question is. I mean, we all have thousands of questions going in our head. I believe that for me, it's been amazing to be able to kind of step into my faith and know that there is nothing to fear, but fear itself. and for me, I was reading this morning in my little daily plan that I, that I have on my app, a Bible app it's called, it's. the verse today was James one, two, which is consider it pure joy. and I'm paraphrasing consider it pure joy that we are in a, you know, maybe struggling.
Speaker 1: And that's kind of sounds crazy, but the reason this, you know, James said that is because you're being pruned, you know, we're being, or being, forced or not forced, we're being pressured to be better. And I see the season as, as one of those. So anyway, I know I'm kind of rambling a little bit there, but, but seriously, this has been interesting for me. Interesting time. And again, I just thought I'd get on here and kind of share my word with you and, see if it relates with you and if it does, it'd be good. Cause I know I'm not alone in the number two, I'd be curious on how you are handling this in your own life. what is it that you're doing to develop the muscles of peace and joy You know, what are those habits that you're building into your day to day, day to day life
Speaker 1: You know, what, what is it, are you, what, what are you doing to create that, that freedom you know, and building up, like when I, I'm saying here, the immunity from the noise, what is it that you're doing kind of all these things to create peace at the end of the day. It's what are you doing to create peace and hope in your life today and if it's something that you've learned recently share it, I'd love to know it, put it in the comments or, or shoot me a message, whatever that looks like. But I'm super curious because I believe this is not only a good time for us to continue to aim for that peace and hope, but also a, opportunity for us to kind of come together and do that together, and learn from each other, and build that community online, even though we cannot be together and big, you know, big, big events or whatever that looks like, which I'm kind of used to with what I do. So anyway, hope you're doing great. I appreciate you, much love and again, what are you doing to create, hope and joy in your life and I hope you, you find it and, you, you bring that into today's and into the world and shine that light. So anyway, appreciate you love you. And, again, super, super grateful that you are tuning in and, and spending some time with me. So appreciate it and much love.
